Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, I'm Michael, and your morning show is heard on
great radio stations across the country like one oh five,
nine twelve fifty w HNZ and Tampa, Florida, News Radio
five seventy wkb N and Youngstown, Ohio and News Radio
one thousand KTOK in Oklahoma City. Love to have you
listen to us live in the morning, and of course
we're so grateful you came for the podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Enjoy two three, starting your morning off right, A new
way of talk, a new way of understanding because we're
in this together.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
This is your Morning Show with Michael O'Dell charm Good morning,
seven minutes after the hour, and welcome to Monday, December fifteenth.
It was a very violent and deadly weekend, just two
weeks from the season of peace and the ultimate giving
of gift Christmas. It's a lot to process this morning.
An ambush in Syria leaves three American soldiers dead. Isis

(00:56):
appears to be the perpetrator and the motive is religious hatred.
Sixteen dead in Sydney, Australia, targeting Jews during a Honkkah celebration.
A ten year old little girl, a Holocaust surviving rabbi
among the victims. The shooters fathers, a father and son team.

(01:20):
There is a great heroic effort of one Muslim man
to disarm one of the shooters. He suffered a gunshot,
wounded the head, but did disabled the one shooter. That's
a lot to process to our dead at Brown University,
nine others wounded. We had a person of interest that
was released overnight. A suspect is still at large, and

(01:42):
then famed Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle
found dead in their home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California,
and it is appearing from all indications that their troubled
thirty two year old son Nick may have been responsible
for their deaths. This is a lot in human capacity

(02:02):
to process from a single weekend National correspondent Roy o'nealis here,
let's start with what we know about Rob Reiner and
his wife Michelle's stabbing death.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Yeah, as you said, People Magazine first to report overnight
that the attention is being focused on their thirty two
year old son, Nick, who previously spoken publicly about his
long battle with drug addiction, periods of homelessness as well,
and a sign from the Hollywood community that's responding to
the shocking headlines. Both of them, both Rob and Michelle

(02:34):
were involved in the Hollywood business in directing and other forms,
but also the political world. The two of them were
big movers among liberal and democratic circles. I think we've
heard from Governor Nuss, from Barack Obama, at Kamala Harris,
and so many other politicians on the Democratic side who've
also expressed their sorrow and shock at the news of

(02:57):
this attack. You know, I screenshoted TMZ. At first, all
we knew was that police had responded around three point
thirty local time to a home. It was very quickly
identified that was the home of Rob and Michelle Reiner,
though there was no confirmation from any of the investigators

(03:18):
of their death, although they were quick to point out
this is the home. We're seventy and they did mention
that the victims were a seventy eight year old male
and a sixty eight year old female.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
So we pretty much knew very early it was Rob
Reiner and Michelle Reiner, but I think a lot of
people waking up this morning are not aware that it's
probably the thirty two year old son Nick who did it.
We kind of went over his body of work and
I bring it up because I had screenshotted some of
the responses on that news thread, and it was amazing
how quickly, you know, people went into you know, grateful

(03:50):
that meat had died, and the others were saying, well,
it should have been your president, and You're just like,
oh my gosh, these are human beings, and so oh,
go ahead, that's all.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
That's all those something that comes now we know as
that stuff gets tagged on X oh, that's just some
Romanian doing their you know, whatever.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
It could be. Yeah, whatever it is, there's no there's
no room for it. I mean, this is tragic. And
the notion that their own son killed the mother and father,
I mean, it's just almost too much to handle. But
I like to say it this way. While America may
be split on Rob Reiner's views, which turned out, I
will admit to be not that different than his character
that made him famous. A meetthead on all in the family.

(04:30):
You definitely benefited from his gifting. We talked about all
the movies that Rob Reiner and I think it was
eleven Oscar nominations, seventeen Golden Globe and nominations movies that
he directed. The original Spinal Tap, which was eighty four.
Now that we're coming out with Spinal Tap two, stand
by me an arguable classic. Princess Bride, when Harry met Sally.

(04:56):
How about Misery? Everybody forgets he directed Misery with Kathy Bates.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
That's where I met his wife.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Yes, and then the American President. I think it's one
of my favorite movies with Michael Douglass and Annette Benning.
What else did he do? Well? A few good men? Wow,
Ghost of Mississippi. We could go on and on. This
is just absolutely tragic. Rob Reiner, Michelle Reiner, James Woods.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
I mentioned how you know because he worked in the
Ghost of Mississippi, I believe, and how you know? Their
political differences like didn't matter that they cut through that
with their relationship, and he said he loved him.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
So actent Sleepless in Seattle, Throw Mama from the Train,
bucket List, which was was a big movie, just of
course the most famous for being Mead heead On All
in the family. Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle dead
at seventy eight and sixty eight respectively. All right, we're
kind of out of time when we come back in
our neck. Unless you have a minute. I don't think
you do. Nope, uh yeah, one minute, one minute. Yeah.

(05:56):
We'll come back in the in the next hour and
we'll cover the Amba shooting in Syria as well as
the Australian shooting in Sydney, as well as the shooting
at Brown University. The biggest update there is the person
that was being held as a person of interest has
been released. So the manhunter begins and continues for the
shooter at Brown University, and it appears all remaining classes

(06:18):
at Brown University canceled for the remainder of the semester.
Roy O'Neil on days like this, I'm so grateful to
have you all right, thirteen minutes after the hour. Can't
have your morning show without your voice. I know we
have Woody in Arizona.

Speaker 6 (06:29):
I've just got one comment on the father son evil
in Australia. I hate the fact that Australia came out
valleying tougher gun laws, like somehow guns are to blame.
No comment about radical Islam or anti Semitism. That is

(06:50):
where they need to turn their focus.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Three responses. One, everything you said, Woody is is appropriate
in the process of awareness and understanding. This is where
narratives meet reality. I always say the cause of death
for most narratives is reality and truth. And it's good
to observe that. It's good to understand that. I got
another email at Michael diatiheartmedia dot com from Blake. Which

(07:18):
of the weapons will the left try to ban now
after this last weekend? Will it be guns? Will it
be knives? Or even cars? Look, there might be a
time I said, We're not going to be that show
that goes there this morning of all the stories in
the Bible. And again, let me just start by, and

(07:40):
I'm not shoving my religion your thought. I just want
to give you my perspective of where I'm coming from,
just so you can see all the layers of human
capacity involved in all of this. And if you don't
identify it, it'll consume you. And I think this is
where we lose our footing, This is where we lose
our balance. So I have a real relationship with God,

(08:01):
my father. That took the hardest work because I didn't
have the greatest of earthly father examples. But I have
a real relationship with him, a real relationship with Christ
and his Holy Spirit. I have been the benefactor of
many blessings throughout my life. I've been in their presence,
I've heard their voice. It's real for me. But of

(08:23):
all the stories in the Bible, as much as I
think I know God, because when I was very young,
I was very wise enough to say this always to God.
He was first wise to say to me, knock at
the door and I will answer. Seek and you shall find,
Ask and you shall receive. But from my perspective, as

(08:44):
a child in his creation, I would always say God
first and foremost, I want to know you, because if
I don't know you, I won't really love you, and
if I don't really love you, I won't serve you.
It's that necessary. Now, maybe in the purity of myne heart,
in saying the purity of those words, he honored it.
I have never lived a moment where I didn't know God.

(09:06):
I've never struggled with faith. I would have if He
ever asked of me what he asked of Abraham. And
that story in the Bible haunts me that God would
have ever asked me to take a long walk with Nicholas.
What did they talk about during that walk? But kind

(09:29):
of a man? How much better did Abraham know? And
love God and serve God than me, that he was
willing to follow through with that the sacrifice of his son.
A God didn't allow it, and the Ram was there,
caught in the wicked, and eventually we got Jesus, his
only son. It was a foreshadowing. Am I the only

(09:51):
one struck? If you're Rob Reiner and Michelle and you've
given birth to a child, and you pulled your life
and love into this child, and then around fifteen it
starts developing drug problems. But to be betrayed and killed
by your own son, I'm stopped right there. I can't
go any further in this story. I have no capacity

(10:15):
to go on to meethead or the fact that Rob
Reiner and I have absolutely no worldview in common, no
political views in common. And I don't know that he's
been any more outspoken about his views than I am
about mine. But I can tell you his movies have
treasured His movies brought great joy to my life. Harry

(10:40):
met Sally, few good men American President. Those might be three,
and I'm not even getting to stand by me, Princess Brian,
any of the others. Those may be three of my
favorite all time movies. But on a Sunday afternoon. To
have your life end in such a violent way, and

(11:03):
knowing it was what appears to be his son, Nicholas
that did it. That's beyond anything I can comprehend. When
I think of what happened to Australia, my mind can't
get by. And you where's neck always at the beach?

Speaker 5 (11:22):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (11:22):
Okay, what times he's supposed to come home? See, these
aren't just news stories, these aren't video games. These are
real lives. The real problem isn't as much religious or
political views as just evil. Now, in some cases it
is good to understand guns don't kill people. People using

(11:46):
guns kill people. And guess what, people using guns save lives,
or in the case of Australia, people with the courage
to walk up to somebody arm from behind and take
the gun away from them saves lives. Right to want
to get beyond that, you, as I always say, you're
right to want to understand the three contradicting lives of

(12:08):
Muhammad and why we have three very different kinds of
Muslims today. And that's a real problem for us moving forward,
because I don't know which ones are the peace loving
ones that disarm a gunman, which are political Islamists who
want to slowly populate, slowly infiltrate, slowly agitate and eventually
wage war, or the kind that kill immediately, like the

(12:31):
father and son. And that's the problem. We don't know
which until they act, and that's too late. That's a
real dilemma moving forward. So if the motive is Islam,
if the motive is anti Semitism, it's smart to know
that and understand that that's a real ongoing danger beyond
this father and son, and it will continue. But it

(12:56):
is a shallow, fearful and rather being a part of
the problem response to go right to meathead or go
right to a gun argument. And then there's the timing
of it. And it is my firm belief. And that's

(13:16):
why I keep saying this to you over and over
again this morning. That isn't going to heal you, but
stopping and saying, God, this is all beyond anything I'm
capable of handling, especially this much at once. So I'm
going to pray for Rob and Michelle's family and extended

(13:39):
family of friends, and for all of America that are
absorbing all of this, knowing it's overwhelming and too much
and I'm just going to ask that you would somehow
bring peace that passes all understanding, and it would make
no sense. Bottle tears, heal hearts, give hope, bring peace.

(14:01):
I mean the song is, let there be peace on earth,
Then let it begin with me. Apply that to each
of these stories. Then pray for these people. Give it
back to a God who can handle it, and take
it off you who can't. Otherwise it might inspire something
really ugly. And I didn't know whether to read some
of these screenshots. They're awful. Just like when we talk

(14:25):
about one cycle, you guys can see narcissism so clearly
in a president, and the next cycle, when it's one
of your guys, you don't see it so clearly. I
listen to many of you be outraged that those who
celebrated the death of Charlie Kirk, and quite frankly, I

(14:49):
don't even understand where that circus is gone. Let's hope
these aren't just three tragedies that become three more circuses.
But it's no differ when you celebrate the death of
another I don't care what his political views were, if
your thought isn't first, what a horrific betrayal. What an

(15:14):
awful way to die with your wife in your home,
by your own child. And you've got any thoughts beyond that, well,
at least got more capacity than I do. This is
your Morning Show with Michael del Chuno.

Speaker 7 (15:33):
I hate to point out the truth about Rob Reiner,
but when you spout that much hate and live, it's
found to come back and bite you in the ass.
You know, karma is a bitch and that could possibly
be the reason why his son was struggling with drugs
and mental addiction was because of him.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
Well, I'm not prepared to blame guns or knives in
and of themselves or karma. I will say this in
your defense. Tom, did the thought crossed my mind that
he looks like he'd have been a difficult father? Yes,
it did. But if Nicholas's son did this, Nicholas is
responsible for his doug drug problem, and Nicholas is responsible

(16:14):
for killing his mother and father has tabby them to death,
not Carlma got to take these one at a time.
Rob Reiner appears to me like he'd have been a
great dad or Carl Reiner. Rob Reiner maybe not so much,
But we don't know because we don't know. We shouldn't say.

Speaker 5 (16:34):
My name is Stuart.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
I'm from Monkeytown, Tennessee, and my morning shows Your Morning
Show with Peter Boy. Hi, it's Michael.

Speaker 1 (16:46):
Your Morning show airs live five to eight am Central,
six to nine Eastern in great cities like Memphis, Tennessee, Telsa, Oklahoma, Sacramento, California.
We'd love to be a part of your morning routine,
but we're happier here now. Enjoy the podcast. This is
your morning show. Honored to serve you. I'm Michael del Jorono.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
Jeffries got the sound and the inappropriate mixture of sounds
and liners. Don't do that, and I love George Michael
dark I can't help it. That was dark Red keeping
an eye on the content, and we are all trying
to absorb the content. I use a line all the
time that I measure myself by, and you might want
to borrow it. I just simply will not buy obedience,

(17:26):
ever delight in the misfortune of others. I just don't
ever want to be a person who is capable of
that anymore than I want to get quickly involved in
immediate narrative talking points and permanent positions, because that's the
dysfunctional game of our culture. Now I will openly talk

(17:47):
about facts and reality and pursuit of truth and understanding
and ultimately resolve. So I am not going to involve
myself in arguments. Wow, nobody's been more anti gun than Australia,
has stiffer gun laws than Australia. And see, I agree

(18:12):
that all the money in the world and Rob Reiner
was worth a hundred million dollars won't protect a kid
from having drug issues, parental issues, whether it's addiction or evil,
it's possible. The story I choose to focus on is

(18:36):
Ahmed Alahmed. I mean, his family says he was watching
this is a Muslim man. I don't know if he
even at that moment he even cared or assumed if
the shooters were a Muslim. He just couldn't stand seeing
people die, and he had the courage to sneak up
behind one of the shooters, grab him around the back

(19:00):
and disarm him at risk of his life. He didn't
hide or run. He solved. So we've got a tragic
father and son anti Semitic attack in Australia that kills
sixteen wounds many others. We have an ambush attack on

(19:21):
our three American soldiers killed in Syria. It appears to
be Isis Brown University. We have two dead, nine wounded.
The person of interest was released overnight, and the suspect
is at large, and the manhunt continues with very very
few clues. And then we wake up to fame Hollywood
director Rob Reiner's wife Michelle being killed. All educations are

(19:45):
it was their thirty two year old son Nick who
took their life, and according to TMZ, did so by
cutting both of their throats. That's a lot to process
on any morning, so we don't need to get into
political narratives. We need to pray for these people's families
and loved ones and friends. Billy Crystal lived just a

(20:05):
few houses down. He was one of the first there
and seen most upset. These are all tragic events, and
only God can come and bring real peace and real
healing to the people that have been impacted. And that's
really all we can do and should be doing. Meanwhile,
John Decker is joining US White House correspondent. I know
the President has it until Friday, I believe is it

(20:27):
this Friday? The deadline? You released all the Epstein files,
Plus it's a chance for a last minute healthcare reform
piece of legislation before the holidays, and you got to
spend I saw all the pictures a wonderful weekend with
the President of the Army Navy Game. Good morning, John Decker.

Speaker 8 (20:42):
I did, yeah, a lot to process a really heavy
Monday for all the reasons that you just mentioned before
you introduced me. Really really just shocking. All of the
stories that you mentioned as it relates to the President. Yeah,
this is an important week for the President in terms
of potentially finding a solution for those increases that will

(21:02):
happen for twenty four million Americans and their healthcare insurance
premiums because that extended Obamacare subsidy is expiring. And it's
also a weekend in which the President celebrated a great
American tradition, the Army Navy Game.

Speaker 5 (21:18):
As we spoke about on Monday.

Speaker 8 (21:19):
I was with the President over the weekend, traveled up
to Baltimore for this great game, and it actually was
a great game if you were happened to watch it
on television. Navy sweaks out of victory seventeen to sixteen,
and the President very well received in Baltimore, Maryland.

Speaker 5 (21:36):
At m and T Banks Stadium.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
To quote my brother Vic in his text, on Saturday,
greatest Army Navy game in decades. That's how good the
football game was. And you had great seats sideline.

Speaker 5 (21:51):
Yeah, that was pretty good, you know, a good view.

Speaker 8 (21:53):
Obviously when the President walked by.

Speaker 5 (21:55):
He gave me a hat by the way as you
walked on by.

Speaker 8 (21:58):
And in addition to that great view for the flyover,
the black hawk flyover, the parachutists that fly that land
on the field. Everything was a great day and it
wasn't as cold it is right now. It's about I
would say twenty degrees warmer on Saturday.

Speaker 5 (22:16):
For the Army Niavy game.

Speaker 3 (22:17):
Well, after listening to the President, I suspect there'll be
some flyovers in Syria as well. So the President seems
obviously very upset and ready to respond. I thought immediately
when I saw this story, first of the lives of
the three, and I prayed for their families. But then
my next thought went to nobody wiped ices off the

(22:37):
face of the earth like Donald Trump in his first term.
Obviously they're not wiped off the face of the earth,
and I would expect a very firm response and return you.

Speaker 5 (22:49):
Should president promised.

Speaker 8 (22:50):
Yeah, the President promised retaliation on Saturday when this incident happened.

Speaker 5 (22:54):
He also said that.

Speaker 8 (22:55):
It repeated that again last night at an event at
the White House. So there will be certainly some sort
of repercussion for what happened. As you know, two American
soldiers killed in Syria, their interpreter was killed, and a
number of injuries as well, all because of this attack
by an individual associated with the Syrian security forces in Peria.

Speaker 3 (23:21):
Closing moments with John Decker, White House correspondent, all right, listen,
I get this issue inside and out. I'm not going
to relitigate it right here. Obamacare did not ensure everyone.
It did not bring down premiums, although some people getting
supplements made it more reasonable. Oh, if you're gonna give
it to me for free, I'll take it. That kind
of thing, all right. So the problem is what it is.

(23:42):
The Democrats are standing firm that they want, you know,
these people to have their premiums brought down in some way.
Does anybody have any consensus of how to fix this?
Is there anything even being kicked around that has a
reasonable chance of happening politically?

Speaker 8 (24:02):
Yeah, there are some ideas. The problem is his compromise
is so difficult in Congress.

Speaker 5 (24:08):
It's difficult in the Senate.

Speaker 8 (24:09):
We saw that last week when both the House, when
both the Republican bill and the Democratic bill both failed.

Speaker 5 (24:15):
They didn't get the sixty votes needed.

Speaker 8 (24:17):
And we'll see what happens in the House this week
when they take up their own healthcare legislation. They could
potentially put an amendment in there that would extend those
Obamacare subsidies. There are about fourteen Republicans that want to
do that in the House of Representatives. So the numbers
are there for that amendment, you know, given that every
Democrat likely would vote for that.

Speaker 3 (24:38):
All right, deadline is Friday for the release of all
the Epstein files, That.

Speaker 8 (24:42):
Is correct, So we'll have a busy weekend, the busy
next week in terms of going through the material.

Speaker 5 (24:48):
Will there be a smoking gun?

Speaker 8 (24:50):
I doubt it very much. In any case, That's what
will happen later this week.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
But a little stocking stuff for nonetheless. John Decker, White
House Correspondent, Thank you so much. If you want to
hear more from John the White Briefing Room, his podcast
will be up by nine eastern eighth Central this morning.
All the very latest in and around the White House
from John Decker. All Right, forty four minutes after the
hour in sports, we were just sitting here trying to
figure out who the best team in the NFL is.

(25:17):
And you know what the reality is, there's about eight
teams like I could do this divisionally. I don't know
who's better Jacksonville or Houston, and I don't know how
good both are, but they seem pretty good. I don't
know who is better. The Bears are the Packers. Packers
beat the Bears at home, But I don't know who's
better Caroline or Tampa, San Francisco or the Rams. Who's

(25:38):
the best team in football? Is it Buffalo? Is it
the Rams? Is it New England? Well, Buffalo just beat
New England. You know, I think what's exciting about this
year is not only a can any team from wild
cards Saturday to AFC, NFC Championships. Any team could win
the Super Bowl this year. It could be anybody on
any given Saturday or Sunday. And it's not because everybody

(26:00):
has parody and they're just average. We gotta us federate
great teams that are really well coached. I felt like.
And there was two injuries at wide receiver this weekend.
If the Rams stayed healthy, they looked the most dangerous
to me. But I'm telling you there's that Denver Bronco defense.
I think that Denver Bronco defense might be better than
the Orange Crush. And I was a huge Tom Jackson fan.

(26:22):
So let's go over the numbers if we can. Let's
do this theme feels more football. Ope, there we go.
All right, We start in with Arizona and Texas. The
Texans Trey McBride, what a tight end twelve receptions, one

(26:43):
hundred and thirty four yards and two touchdowns, but still
not enough. The Cardinals lose, fall to three and eleven,
forty to twenty to the Texans. Chargers go to ten
and four eliminate the Chiefs from the playoffs for the
first time in a decade, winning sixteen to thirteen, down
twenty one. They're never down as long as Allen's at
the house. Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills storm back

(27:04):
three Allen touchdowns, two Cook touchdowns. Bills huge road win
in New England over the Patriots thirty five thirty one.
Browns followed to three and eleven on the season, losing
to Chicago thirty one to three. Tamir Gibbs only thirty
eight yards on thirteen carries. He almost cost me my
playoff weekend in fantasy football. He definitely cost the Lions
the game. They fall forty one to thirty four to

(27:26):
the Rams. Bow Knicks three hundred and two yards four touchdowns,
Broncos thirty four to twenty six over the Pack. Cam
Ward two touchdowns, Tony Pollard one hundred and four yards
in a touchdown, but the Titans lose thirty seven to
twenty four in San Francisco. And last night, Vikings outscored
the Cowboys thirty four to twenty six. Tonight, Monday Night Football,
the Dolphins are in Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers.

(27:51):
The Dolphins have been very hot as of late. Don't
count them out. Lakers one sixteen one to fourteen over
the Sun's. Last night, Kings lost one seventeen one oh
three to the Tea Wolves, Blazers by five over the Warriors.
Calves lost, Bucks lost in hockey Penguins five to four,
but get a point. It was an overtime lost to

(28:12):
the Mammoth and Sabers beat the krack in three to
one birthdays. Today, Miami's vice is Don Johnson. Did you
do you remember me saying it in the first hour.
Do you know how old Don Johnson is? Oh? Yeah, yeah,
he's seventy six years old and still handsome. Yeah, he
still is great.

Speaker 5 (28:32):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (28:32):
Se Actor Adam Brody is forty six. Judd Apatow is
his daughter maud Apatow twenty eight from Euphoria. And if
it's your birthday, Happy birthday. We're so glad you were born.
And thanks for making your morning show a part of
your big day.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
It's your Morning show with Michael del Chno.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Tough morning to get going. Monday, December the fifteenth, twenty
twenty five. We've had an ambush attack in Syria that
killed two American soldiers and one interpreter. We had a
mass shooting in Sydney, Australia, killing sixteen, wounding many others.
The target Jews celebrating Hanukkah on a beach. It was
a father and son team. And then Brown University two dead. Nine.

(29:15):
We had a person of interesting custody released overnight and
now the man hunt begins for a suspect at large
with very little to go on. And if that were
not enough. We first get reports of a husband and
wife found dead in their home, one seventy eight year
old male, one sixty eight year old female. Then we

(29:36):
connect the dots, it's Rob Reiner's home. Then we connect
the dots, it's Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle. Now
multiple reports that the suspect is their thirty two year
old troubled son Nick. What a tragic tale. More of
that in a moment. First things first came have your
morning show without your voice, and we were just talking
with John Decker about solving healthcare. We all know the

(29:58):
fight over health care, which I think boils down to
entitlement versus responsible protection and trying to remove the consequence.
But as we break this down, how do we move forward?
And at least I think it starts with admitting Obamacare
didn't fix it. But then where do we go? And
I think that's where our caller comes in.

Speaker 9 (30:18):
First and foremost, we need to cap the patient to
nurse ratio in hospitals to improve the quality of care. Second,
we need to change the healthcare outcome incentive package. We
need to make Medicare excuse me, Medicaid a sliding scale

(30:38):
program to allow everyone to buy in that allows the
insurance companies to compete for our buck dollars.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
You know, it's interesting. I don't argue with any of those.
I don't know at what layer they are. I mean
those those are three great ideas where you're gonna eat
about one hundred in the middle. But I kind of
star at the beginning. Why do we get insurance? Insurance
we get because we can afford the premium, or we

(31:11):
prioritize the premium for all the things that could happen
that if they did, we couldn't afford. But it is
a choice of personal responsibility. So I think you got
to start with is insurance a person's responsibility or entitlement?
In other words, we weren't interested in a government healthcare system,

(31:31):
but we live like it ideologically. You know what the
biggest problem with uninsured Americans were. It was young people.
I don't want to pay any premiums. Something's gonna happen
to me. Okay, you have every right, and statistically you
got a lot of backing. But if it does, we're

(31:52):
not going to bail you out on your responsibility. See,
we want to take away the consequence for people's lack
of responsible ability and that's when you're living like it's
already a government healthcare system.

Speaker 5 (32:04):
I know.

Speaker 3 (32:05):
I think you got to get this right morally and
ethically before you can get to the particulars. And at
some point you've got to address the actuarial pool. Because
the lost reality and the most expensive reality in all
of this is, no matter how you live, most of

(32:28):
you will do ninety percent of your health care expense
in your last year or two. Got to address you
got to address the young people that are choosing not
to get it, because they're the young, healthy, less likely
to need health care. But this speaks to a birthing

(32:48):
problem and marriage problem. I was reading a great piece
of research over the weekend. It was more on this
marriage gap. I don't get lost in the marriage gap. Basically,
what it means is when we were all in high school,
girls were thinking about being married and having children someday.
Guys we were thinking about Crescent City Friday night, can
we beat them in football? And is Jean still going

(33:11):
to be dating me?

Speaker 5 (33:13):
Now?

Speaker 3 (33:13):
It's the other way around. Boys are thinking about marriage,
Boys are thinking about children in a family. Girls aren't interested.
That's a complex tissue because at thirty years down the road.
More people are just cohabitating. It throws off everything, not

(33:37):
only societal and cultural but economic. Less children mean less people, young, healthy,
earning a lot today, paying for the old that have retired.
They got to have those putting into the entitlement programs
for those that are taking out the birth crisis in America.

(34:01):
No one's talking about AI. You should be because A
g I and as I are coming and they're scary.
But the birth crisis, I guess if the AI doesn't
get you, it's going to We're all in this together.
