Speaker 2 (00:23):
Two three, starting your morning off right, A new way
of talk, a new way of understanding.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Because we're in this together. This is your morning show
with Michael del Charm. Thank you, Mike McCann. Seven minutes
after the hour, Rise and Shine, Ernie Bird gets the worm,
Lazy Squirrel, missus the nut. Welcome to Monday, January, the
sixth year of Our Lord, twenty twenty five. I may
have the flu, and I may not have any lungs,
(00:52):
but I do have wings. This hour of the show
brought to you by Red Bull, Red Bull and day Quill.
That's what I call the Harvey Wallbanger of the flu.
Big story Today, Congress set to meet to certify the
results of the twenty twenty four election. Yes, Kamala Harris
is going to have to certify the election. She lost
(01:13):
the thirty ninth President's remains lie in repose at the
Carter Center in Georgia. A state of emergency is sixty
million Americans face a winter weather threat. And and and
what hey, hey, get the get the cold compresses? Wake
him up? What's going on? Hello?
Speaker 2 (01:35):
For it shall be oh no, in this siller year,
the Titan get the pick. Let the Patriot get the coach?
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Hey, hey, Dad, are you proud of me?
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Hey?
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Mom? Are you okay? Right? Wow? What happened? Do you
feel good better? What did I say? Said something about
Raybold and the Patriot? And I don't know there was
Nostra deeljorno. I must have had a quad train. Yes,
the New England Patriots won that game yesterday, giving the
Titans the first pick overall. But yes, it must be
(02:12):
nost deel Jorno is predicting that Mike Vrabel will be
the next head football coach of the New England Patriots. Now,
for those of you that are new in Detroit and Albuquerque,
I have a gift. It sometimes overtakes me as long
as you get used to your host losing consciousness, listen
closely to the quad trains, for they always come true.
(02:35):
By the way, I want to welcome nine ten Am,
the superstation in Detroit, Michigan. You are our fiftieth your
morning show city. And as we joked earlier, this is
both of these new affiliates today, our non company owned stations. Yeah,
these people really wanted us. Yeah, they asked for it.
(02:56):
They weren't mandated. I mean they must, they must really want.
I think that it gives your favorite status. Not to
mention the lions. You know we're on the bandwagon. I
think you say you're jumping on the bandwagon. Thank you,
Kevin Todell. Now I can say it, well, it's one
of my cities. As long as it's one of my cities,
I can be on the bandwagon. Welcome listeners of Detroit, Michigan.
I'm Michael del Jorno. Welcome to the listeners of the
(03:19):
Rock of Talk sixteen hundred AM, Kiva and Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Just so you know, this show is not about me.
This isn't about you being impressed with me and me
trying to impress you and tell you how to think. No,
this is a morning show that respects you, that is
(03:42):
here to serve you. We don't tell you how to think.
I think we give you a lot to think about.
We're not selling you outrage and screaming at you morning
after morning. We're selling information and with respect and trust
that you can connect the dots and complete the understanding journey.
(04:08):
Because at the end of the day, this us versus them,
it's not working. We got to know what's right. We
got to stand up for what's right because we're all
in this together. I think you're gonna love the uniqueness
of this show. Now, don't just be another affiliate. Be
(04:28):
a part of the show. As we always say, it's
your morning show, and we can't have your morning show
without your voice. And there's a way to make your voice, sir.
You can email me Michael di atiheartmedia dot com. Catherine wrote,
last night I watched Old Brother wor Art Thou for
the first time in twenty years. I had no idea
that the Lonesome Valley song came from that movie. Oh,
that movie's a classic. I went through a phase with
(04:50):
Austin Powers and Oh Brother worre Art Thou. That's all
I watched over and over again. I may have to
revisit that one. But we also have a talkback button.
If you're listening on the iHeartRadio app, you'll see a microphone.
The days of calling in a talk show and just
rotting on hold waiting to be answered over you. Just
click that microphone and count you down three to two
to one. You can ask your question, make your comment,
(05:10):
just like this one. Oh, I'm sorry I caught you
off guard. Yeah, you ready do it again. I was
ready to come from heat in Oha, Iowa.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
Nice cold weather down here. We didn't get any snow.
The magic wall came up. Anyway, The bunniest saying is
gonna be We're gonna be unencumbered by what has been
for the last four miserable years, with people babbling about
stuff they know nothing about. Anyway, it's going to be
very cool to have Uncle Donald back in the saddle
again and doing his thing. And he's already freaking people out.
(05:39):
Did somebody say something about Trudeau resigning?
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Anyway? Have a good day. Yeah, that's one of the
lessons of the day. You can't sell high cost of
living inflation. You can't spend your way out of a
spending problem. Gam you know, debt your way out of
a debt problem. Government control your way to freedom. It
has failed in America and Donald Trump is getting the
Oval office again, and it has failed in Canada, and
(06:03):
the rumor is being somewhat confirmed that Trudeau will resign
by Wednesday. Chris Walker is one of our correspondents. He's
also a GOP consultant and analyst, and he joins us
every Monday. We said it was all hype, there was
no battle for the gavel, that Johnson was going to
get it. This never Trump attitude doesn't exist, and Trump won,
(06:25):
so there'd be no grand standing. He'll get the gabble,
and he did. Here comes the certification today. The presidency
is about to begin with an inauguration, the twenty twenty
five possibilities. I mean, you know, this is the time
of the year. Eybody does year in review. Let's do
year in preview, Chris Walker. Because the first turdle for
the Republicans they passed with flying colors. They didn't mess
(06:47):
anything up with the gabble on Friday. That's a very
good sign and good start, right Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
Absolutely, Good morning, Michael, Happy new year. Good to be
with you. Again, O good holiday. Yes, you know, I
think it was a great show. There was a little
bit of an effort from some to kind of, you know,
kind of create a moment. I generally love Thomas Massey.
I feel like in this instance his one vote really
wasn't necessary. I would like to see him kind of
come into the unity side. He made his point, but
(07:17):
on the whole, I mean, I think the Republicans have
kind of learned a little bit of their lessons from
last year, like, hey, we've got we've got a lot
of work to do here to get President Trump in
the best position. But not just President Trump, but the
ideas and the values of the voters who put him in.
You know, there's a reason why he won, and there's
a reason why he you know, had you know, ten
million more votes than he had in his first election
twenty sixteen. And that's the part because people have come
(07:38):
towards him because they're realizing what he's saying is right.
And so it's not a matter of just kind of
pushing one issue or another in Congress, and you know,
they're members of partners that they have that they should
do that. But there's also a country here in a
lot of ways to stay from the four years of
the Bide administration.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
There's a lot of work to do well. I said
it this way, You're going to have a hard time
making a case against as a supporter of Trump when
there was no distance between the two of them throughout
the campaign and all the way to victories. So that
kind of made it very moot for me. I'm not
one to ignore obvious markers. But the other thing is
(08:16):
it's hearing the voice of the American people. We're sick
of all the inside partisan political bickering and battles. Somebody
do something and secure this border. Somebody do something and
secure this out of control cost of living inflation. Somebody
do something to secure that we can have more of
our paycheck in order to afford what inflation is going
(08:38):
to exist for a while. I not to mention the
last time they did it was a disaster because they
didn't have a plan. B It blew up in their face.
I mean, certainly they weren't going to play the game
of how dumb are we to do that again? And
they didn't.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
No, that's right, and you know, so far we're.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
Seeing is positive. This is good.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
I mean, we're going to see the presidential election, you know,
kind of certified today, which is also good. I think
Margine Tailler Green's point was very good this weekend, like,
hey people, most people have stayed.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
It's it's a people.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
Are kind of realize what time it is, Like it's
time to get to work. There's a lot of work
to be done. And President Trump, I mean, let's be honest,
has a very short window to get a lot of
accomplished here. You're going to run into midterm elections here
in about a year and a half. You're going to
have you know, a lot of the political gamesmanship starting
to take place. Democrats aren't going to just go away quietly.
So while we have this unity, while we have this unanimity,
(09:29):
it's we have to get a lot done in a
short amount of time. So putting aside a lot of
these more personal grudge matches is more important for the
overall mission that we need to accomplish here. Caspital needs
to reform the FBI. You know, Marco Ruby has a
lot of work to clean up from Tony Blincoln at State.
You know, the most can go on and on here,
and so there's like let's get moving quickly and get
these cabinet appointments confirmed and get the administration running in
(09:52):
the right direction as quickly as possible.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
Republican Party consulting, Chris Walker joining us. You know, I
think of Kamala Harris throughout the holiday season, kept showing
up at holiday gatherings, going on and on about how
we can't lose hope. Just because we lost an election
doesn't mean we've lost our way. Of course, there was
nobody mourning that loss, so it just it fell flat
and dead and looked pathetic. You got Joe Biden yesterday,
(10:18):
and I would have made sounds the day. But he
uses the expression GD, which you know I grew up Italian. Yeah,
you use the F word as word, any word. I
don't even notice it. I mean, this is it's like
ah to me, you do GD and I get offended. Sorry,
I'm old school, so I didn't play the clip. But
I mean he's still trying to sell threat to democracy
(10:39):
and that he is not cognitively impaired, and that he
is the wisest man in the room and we're losing
him and democracy. All those narratives aren't working. I mean,
you keep bringing up the Democrats aren't going to just
go away if they if they don't get I mean
I played a clip earlier with Harry Entton, who was
on CNN throughout the election, telling them exactly what was coming.
(11:00):
You're losing blackmail votes, you're losing Hispanic votes, you're losing
Asian votes. Yeah, there is a gender gap, but it's
not as big as you think over abortion, and there's
a big one with men. I mean, he was telling
them you're gonna lose, You're gonna lose, and they wouldn't listen.
And now he's telling him, not only did you lose,
not only does the Republican Party belong to Donald Trump?
America's behind Donald Trump. I mean, how many games can
(11:21):
the Democrats play? And it's not still learning the lesson,
you're ignoring the people who are smarter than you. I mean,
I don't think they've got many.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
Plays, no, you know, and honestly, I would anticipate the
Democrats taking the wrong lesson and moving forward further left.
You're going to see the aoaocs start to, you know,
kind of have an ascendancy. You're going to see this
effort to kind of modernize and you know, kind of
(11:51):
make younger. The Bernie Sanders Coole listen to the Democrat Party,
and you know, I wish them well that their their
you know, efforts there, but I think that's where they're
going to go. But you know, Joe Biden, I mean goodness.
Vers As you mentioned Trudeau in the in the preview
before we came on. You know, Donald Trump literally just
had Trudeau to down to mar A Lago, called him
(12:12):
the governor of the state of Tech Canada, and within
three weeks he was out. Donald Trump has more more
influenced and sway than the for instanding president.
Speaker 1 (12:20):
So I thought I thought of you when I thought
of you when I saw that story because you're Donal
Trump joked you could be the fifty first state. Uh,
and that's still at play. I doubt that's gonna happen.
Bottom line. Uh, you know this is unique. Donald Trump
is a wiser Donald Trump for everything he had been through,
He's not going to fall for a Faulcie. He's not
going to fall for you know, any of this other nonsense.
(12:42):
He gets a second one hundred days, what are the
reasonable expectations of things he can do in this second
term before passing the paton on to this new Trump Revolution.
Of a Republican party.
Speaker 4 (12:56):
Well, I think there's going to be just some some
things that happened with the government and being friendly to
business or friendlier to business, friendlier to kind of wealth
creation and economic growth, rather than this top down, some
down approach of.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
The Democrat government the regulations so on, go ahead.
Speaker 4 (13:15):
Yeah, you know what we saw over the holiday. You know,
but Joe Biden single handley, you know, rejecting the Nip
and Steel you know business deal, which was an absurdity.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
You know, a pro business.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
Type environment in the White House will be it will
be a positive. So rather than protectionism, you know, they'll
be smart trade, they'll be smart you know efforts there.
You know, there's a huge deep state that needs needs
perform and so you know Trum's picked a lot of
reformers Pam Bondy and has to tell on others. So
I think it's important to see that. But I would anticipate,
you know a lot of businesses being able to kind
(13:49):
of get to green lights and make mergers and you
know kind of build build and create wealth and develop
you know, kind of new new technologies that really kind
of grow. I mean, we saw if you could put
a stamp on the Biden administration, the biggest failure, it's
spending billions of dollars of broadband and non connecting a
single home for real broadband where you have starlink available
for us today. Right, there's private secer solutions to all
(14:09):
these Positibilvey, the BIDA mistress is incapable of thinking about
because they will never agree with the idea of the
private sector first. So I think Trump coming in and
having that type of mentality and embracing business will be
positive for everyone looking for jobs and trying to look
for growth and wealth creation.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
I would sum it up this way. I'd let Doge
do their job and cut spending. Finally, someone is going
to address we have a spending problem, not a revenue problem.
I would secure that border. I would deport illegals who
have committed crime since breaking into the country at least,
and I would cut some of these regulations and secure
these tax cuts. And that's about probably all you can
(14:46):
get done in this term. But that would that would
spur a lot of not only prosperity and growth, but security.
And then just his presence I think supplies the piece
through strength necessary for all these bad actors on the
world stage as well. Very critical. You're exactly running security piece.
Speaker 4 (15:07):
I mean the border. The border is number one issue.
I mean, look a look at this, Look at what
happened on the subway over the holiday in New York.
Like just the crime running rampant in these communities. Just
you go to any city and you feel it and
you see it is the number one issue. You know,
Tom Homan, who's going to be the borders are well,
(15:28):
it's been a lion on table News already talking about.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
Supports and deportation.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
I think it'd be great to see how he starts
that process here in a couple of days.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
It's Your Morning Show with Michael del Chano. Welcome to
nine ten a m Detroit's news talk superstation, as well
as the Rock of Talk sixteen hundred AM KIVA and Albuquerque,
New Mexico affiliate's number fifty and fifty one at the
Your Morning Show Kitchen table if you're just waking up.
Congress set to meet today certify the results of the
(15:56):
twenty twenty four election. Our thirty ninth presidents remains and
repose at the Carter Center in Georgia. They'll soon be
headed to our nation's Capitol in the rotunda to Lion State.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
Tell you, this is Mike the Baptist in Cottontown, Tennessee,
and my morning show is your Morning Show with Michael
Bills Jorno.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
Hi, I'm Michael, and your morning show has heard on
great radio stations across the country like one oh five,
nine twelve fifty w HNZ and Tampa, Florida, News Radio
five seventy wkb N at Youngstown, Ohio and News Radio
one thousand KTOK in Oklahoma City. Love to have you
listen to us live in the morning, and of course
we're so grateful you came for the podcast. Enjoy. Joe
(16:41):
Biden was playing that card again last night. Someone at
our reporter Restier, do you still think he's a threat
to democracy? He kind of changed his statement. I think
what he did was a threat to democracy. What he
did was give a speech on January sixth was a
life on the ear. As he was giving it. I
(17:02):
was outraged at the position he was putting his vice
president in. I thought his comments at times were a
little reckless for what we all knew was brewing in
the streets. In fact, at one point when he said,
and I'm gonna come join you. I was like, well,
wait a minute, maybe he is going there after all.
You don't make statements like that unless secret services pre
(17:24):
screened that trip. So some irresponsible comments during a Trump
style rally. But they knew for weeks, and so did
Donald Trump. That's why I say reckless and irresponsible. But
they knew for weeks. The sergeant at arms reports to
the speaker, Nancy Pelosi, and came to the speaker and said,
(17:49):
we got reports of rogue elements planning things. She chose
not to do anything, and Donald Trump may have chose
to play right into her hand. And they create the
insurrection narrative. And I'll remind you truth be told, only
(18:12):
one person died on that day, an unarmed Air Force
veteran shot and killed, and no explanation given for lethal force.
A protester was killed, no one else. But they sold
you this narrative, just like they sold you Trump would
not leave, and he did, just like they sold you
he should never be allowed to return. And they did
(18:34):
all they could to tie him up in court. And
would they do They created the Donald Trump two point
zero because Donald Trump gagged and tied up in court
was the best version of Donald Trump, and then those
to get around the gag order that were his surrogates
united the party long before he got the nomination, let
alone the convention. All of their attempts to maintain power
(19:00):
and destroy an individual did nothing but create Donald Trump's
second term that will be certified today. Isn't it ironic?
Don't you think?
Speaker 4 (19:16):
Now?
Speaker 1 (19:16):
There's a great moment in the movie The Wizard of
Oz that they don't bother to do in the latest
version Wicked from the Broadway Show, and that is when
in the old movie, Toto pulls the curtain and they
realize there's not this bigger than life, all powerful Oz,
(19:41):
but a little short man. But the moment I want
you to think about is he looks behind him and
he sees that he's exposed, and he continues for about
five seconds to try to do that, keep doing the
whole thing, knowing he's exposed. That's kind of what it's
like when Joe Biden last night is trying to play
(20:02):
the he's a danger to democracy card, or when the
media tries to play the and we played the clip
from Meet the Press, they're holding Chucky Schumer to the fire.
(20:23):
You told us a year ago, Joe Biden was cognitively
fine and in charge and in control. Do you feel
bad for misleading the American people? I don't know why
Chucky didn't turn right to her and say, I don't know.
Do you? Does NBC? Does ABC? To CBS? Does the
Washington Post? Is of New York Times? Does MSNBC, CNN?
(20:48):
They all sold the narrative, they all sold the lie. Now, look,
even though they're starting to try to come clean like
they had nothing to do with it over Biden being
senile and who's really been running the treabuild that never
even gets asked, let alone answered. Let's see if they
ever come clean on the role they played with COVID too.
(21:11):
Virtually every conspiracy theory, virtually everyone who was attacked has
now been validated. I mean, America wakes up in this
odd moment where all the lies turn out to be
truth and all the supposed truths turned out to be lies.
(21:31):
And who's the hero on the white horse with the
white hat? The media, they're the ones that sold it
to you. I don't want viral from Joe Rogan's version
playing it, but somebody created it, and I don't know who.
Last time I made a reference to something like this
was one of my listeners who created it. But it
(21:52):
was just showing you how it didn't matter what city
you were in, what local news anchor. Was shocking how
much they looked alike, dressed alike, talk tolike, but use
the exact same wording. Because it's a narrative. There's no
more journalism. It's dead. In fact, it's decomposing as we speak.
(22:14):
It has no ratings, it has no revenue, it has
no influence. It's dead, and I think even they know
it now, but that for a while they got away
with it. Hey, they certainly pulled it off in twenty twenty.
In fact, if you go to Time magazine February fifteenth edition,
(22:34):
twenty twenty one, they'll tell you exactly how they stole
the election and why. We thought democracy was at stake
and Trump was going to win. So we did what
we had to do. We controlled the narratives through the media.
We silenced any opposing views through social media. We changed
election laws without going through state legislatures, and we harvested
(22:58):
and used mail in votes to win the election, all
while hiding Joe Biden in a basement. With the plan
of an old man restoring sensibility to get elected and
then hand it over to Kamala Harris. They tell you
(23:18):
flat out, that's not me telling you that I didn't
just go crazy conspiracy theorists. That's them telling you. Some
of these people even went on to be chiefs of
staff and other things. They also had an insurrection of
their own planned if it didn't work and you had
been conditioned through Black Lives Matter and Antifa. In fact,
(23:38):
they even tell you in the Time magazine piece how
they had to scramble to get all that called off
because they were shocked when Biden won. But they all
played a role, whether it was the Biden twenty twenty election,
whether it was COVID before that, to destroy Trump. And
(23:59):
now they're trying to tell you that they had nothing
to do with it. Now, they still haven't come clean
on COVID, and they probably never will. But I mean,
watching Meet the Press this weekend, it was our sound
of the day, watching the host with a straight face
on NBC crucify Chucky Schumer for what he said a
(24:22):
year ago and hold him accountable, and then he just
keeps the narrative and the lie going. But they're all
guilty and you're seeing the same thing in New Orleans
with this lawsuit, that whole charade that the police, that
old police chief in New Orleans her telling everybody, well,
(24:45):
we can go ahead with the Super Bowl, with the
Sugar Bowl. We can confirm he acted alone. We now
have the videos from Facebook. Plus we have barricades now
that we've implemented to make you feel safer and more confident.
I mean the barricade you had prior to that, that
you chose to take down and no one's even asking
(25:05):
you why or firing you for doing it. Well, now
you got lawsuits being filed against the city of New
Orleans and the police department. Don't you love how they
want to be on white horses with white hats and
heroes when they were the very perpetrators. They're trying to
(25:29):
continue to sell you a narrative that has already been
exposed and rejected. It's like those three seconds after he
looks behind him and Toto has pulled the curtain and
he tries to close the curtain and keep being the
Wizard of Oz. But we all see it. How did
Donald Trump win again? I could give you any I
could fill up fifteen minutes of reasons, But what it
(25:50):
really boils down to is the Left continue to play
a narrative game through an apparatus that had no credibility
or audience anymore. They tried to play censorship game, but
they didn't know next this time. But ultimately they missed
judged the intelligence of the American people, their intelligence to
(26:19):
see through these lies. They have lost their trust and
they've moved on now. Kamala can keep talking about how
I don't know how we're gonna live moving forward, but
we got to find a way. Nobody's upset that she
lost but her. Joe Biden can talk about Donaldrump being
a threat, but America's the parties united behind him, but
America is united behind him. People are freaking out over
(26:43):
the Medal of Freedom, the highest honor. You're given it
to George Sorows, what next, Lucifer himself. They're just trying
to affirm what the American people have already rejected and
exposed and moved on from. Don't be alarmed by the
(27:04):
gurgling sounds that always comes right before death. This is
Your Morning Show with Michael de Trono. Sixty million Americans
face severe winter weather. That's what we call it now,
it's pretty much just winter. We also have the certification
of the presidencies. We look around at headlines Fox, Biden
(27:26):
says Trump is a genuine threat to democracy. Oh that
old chestnut. He's keeping it up right to the very end.
Judge says Trump won't face jail time in the hush
money case as he schedules the sentencing ten days before inauguration.
That from the New York Post Fox outrage, is Biden
set to Biden awards Hillary Clinton and George Soros with
(27:46):
the Presidential Medal of Freedom. And all indications are Prime
Minister Justin Trudeau will resign in the next seventy two hours.
That coming from the Daily Mail, among other sources. And
then we had the attacks on New Year's Day. Investigators
in both New Orleans and Las Vegas have been working
(28:07):
all weekend long as they're looking into all the details
surrounding the New Year's Day attack. Some really interesting things
came to the surface in the New Orleans attack. Roy O'Neil,
our national correspondent at Your Morning show, is here with
all those details. Good morning, Rory Michael, Good morning. Let's
start with New Orleans. I can't remember what those glasses
are I've seen them advertised, but you can walk around
(28:30):
and it looks like you're just wearing sunglasses, but you're
really filming everybody. And we know he was in New
Orleans prior to the attack doing just that.
Speaker 5 (28:37):
Right now, Remember he lived in the Houston area, but
made two trips to New Orleans last fall using those
glasses to record the area on Bourbon Street in the
French Quarter. We believe he used the information gathered in
those videos to help plot his attack. I'm imagining that
Bourbon Street's quite a bit different from November to New
(28:58):
Year's Eve, right, But that was some of the information
we believe he used to plot this.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
But they also announced that.
Speaker 5 (29:04):
He's this suspect spent about a month in Cairo, Egypt,
and he spent time in Ontario in the past eighteen months.
So now they're wondering if those improvised explosives that he
left at the scene, did someone in Egypt or Canada
teach them how to do that? Where did he get
that knowledge from? Because he was really just an it
guy with the military and HR and didn't really have
(29:28):
any training like we saw in the Vegas ra had
in Vegue.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
Yeah, absolutely. So it's not just that he was in
the Ontario area, not just that he was in Egypt,
but who was he with in Egypt? And by the
way they know he was there, should we assume they
might know what he was doing and with whom and why. Well,
that's what the investigation is now.
Speaker 5 (29:47):
Obviously easier to work with authorities in Canada than it
is in Egypt, but to try to find who he
may have been with. But that's the evidence that they're
now trying to gather to see if he was trained
or somehow radicalized during those trips to other countries.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
Interesting too, Roy O'Neil joining us on our top story.
A lot of the victims lawsuits are already being filed
in New Orleans against the City of New Orleans and
the police department. I'm thinking about the suspect who was
wearing those recording glasses in November must have been shocked
when it came back to carry out his terrorist attack
(30:23):
that the very barricades he may or may not have
seen in November were removed. That's what these lawsuits are
probably going to be centered around. What do we know
about that? Right?
Speaker 5 (30:32):
And clearly you know the security measures that were implemented
there at Canal and Bourbon. Whether or not those ballers
were adequate enough, they were being replaced at the time,
but even then it may not have provided the protection
on the sidewalk area. What kind of negligence may have existed.
We'll see if the lawsuit gets any traction. But yeah,
(30:54):
the lawyers are out there, that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
Well, sometimes not about what whether the lawsuit wins or loses,
as much as the vehicle that it uses to expose.
And because that's you know that for me. Anyway, I'm
looking at this police chief going, you know, why is
anybody asking or why she had them removed? Why isn't
she being forced answer? Why is anybody holding her accountable?
Lawsuits like this tend to bring that stuff to light
down the road. Anything that shocked you in any of
(31:18):
the updates over the weekend.
Speaker 5 (31:20):
Well, some of the information from the case out in
Las Vegas sad. Essentially, this was this green Beret who
had served the US for so many years honorably five
Bronze stars. Clearly something happened there and he may have
been suffering from PTSD and it looks like that was
really just a high profile suicide judging by the messages
(31:42):
he was leaving behind.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Yeah, we definitely have Islamic radicalization. In the case of
the New Orleans perpetrator in Vegas, there's two different narratives
going around one. The one you just laid out troubled
individual PTSD mental illness. The other is that he was
desper This is running wild on the internet, desperately trying
(32:04):
to reveal a China vulnerability that we have and may
have done this just to bring attention to it. So
time will tell on both of those. We just report
the news at this point. Rory, thank you great reporting today.
As always, I want to congratulate our audience now living
in Detroit, Michigan. Your Lions won a fist fight last night,
and it was a tough one. The score doesn't reflect
(32:24):
just how close this game was. Lions win thirty one
to nine. They get the division title, they get the
buy so the Lions and Chiefs will rest with Buys. Saturday,
the playoffs are set Chargers at Texans, Steelers at Ravens.
Sunday Broncos Bills, Packers, Eagles, Commanders Tampa Bay, and then
on Monday night, the Vikings will travel to so Far
(32:44):
to take on the Rams. Don't forget in the midst
of all of that, we have the semifinals in college
still unfinished. Thursday night the Orange Bowl Penn State Notre Dame.
Friday night the Cotton Bowl semifinals Ohio State and Texas.
There's a lot of playoffs in the NFL to come,
and a lot of championship in the college football ranks
to come. It's a great month for sports, not a
(33:05):
great month for the flu or for warm temperatures. We're
all in this together. This is your Morning Show with
