He's asking for advice for young men. Hey, Steve, my
name is Dajon and I was looking for some advice.

Be successful in life. Like, what's what's the best advice
you got besides just keep moving forward?

Yes, besides saying that keep moving forward. Well, he's started
you saying that, say something else, or he's tired of
hearing it from somewhere else.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Well, here's the deal. Two things help you become successful.
It's the motivation of what it is you're doing it for.
And it's the discipline, the willingness to apply the work
ethic and the faith necessary to make it come true.
Motivation changes. Some days, you won't be motivated because things

happen during the course of a day. If you're motivated
to become successful, okay, cool. But you wake up this
morning and you having a family emergency, your motivation isn't
to become successful right now. Your motivation becomes to solve
the family emergency. Your emergency comes becomes let me go

(01:44):
see what my wife really needs from me. Your motivation
becomes could become that day, let me go down here
and get these bills paid so I can get this
light turned on. So motivation to become successful it from
time to time. The thing that can never wane is

your discipline. You must remain disciplined to stay the course.
So even though young man, you don't want to hear
the keep moving forward. The two factors that drive you
to your goals your motivation and your discipline. The discipline
can never wane even if your motivation changes. So the

motivation changes, I got to go down here and pay
this bill and get this light back on. I got
to go in here and take care of this family emergency.
When that is handled, the discipline causes you to either
before you go do that, to do the things that
you committed to do, or after you handle that, get
right back to doing the thing that you was committed

to do. It's the discipline that's doing what you have
to do when you don't want to do it. That's
different from keep moving forward. It is you got to
get at it. Yeah, discipline, And I work on that
all the time myself. And I'm older and I have

become successful, but I still have to remind myself to
be disciplined at all times or else even I can
go off track.
