Speaker 1 (00:00):
We've all heard about the bird flu and how it
has been detected in the US, poultry specifically poultry specifically
in California. I should say, according to the World Organization
for Animal Health, we know that hot wings, lemon pepper wings,
and other types of wings will be in abundance at
big game parties. But is it safe. Here's a question.

(00:21):
Is it safe to eat chicken? Right now? The Centers
for Disease Control and other government agencies cannot publicly comment
on this and other public health manners due to communications
orders placed by the Trump administration. But the Chief of
Infectious Diseases at the University of Buffalo and New York

(00:42):
has spoken out, and yes, Steve, I just.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Want to say this right here.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
I've never watched Super Bowl without chicken wings, and I
just knowed this. Here's my philosophy. I'm a fry all
the flu out.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
The chicken is going to be so hot that part.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
I'm going in at full fifty, right.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Yeah, So the Chief Infectious Disease is a chief of
Infectious Diseases at the University of Buffalo and New York
has spoken out. He says, yes, poultry is safe to
eat right now as long as you follow standard fool
safety food safety guidelines.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Tell me, I'm a marinade mine in Nike wheel.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Over night, over night flu. How's that gonna taste?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:36):
So, Steve, you said you're frying at four point fifty,
this guy says, as long as you follow food safety
guidelines ensuring that chicken reaches an internal temperature of one
hundred and sixty five degrees. You said four fifty.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
Well, you know I'm a fried at full fifty. I'm
not Your inside of my chicken gonna be a little
bit more than one sixty five.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Humans are more likely, according to them, to get salmonella
from poultry than the bird flu anyway, So you can
eat all the wings you want.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I think it's the flu. I didn't know they got there.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Well, if they've tested them, they you know all.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Well, if you buy a whole chicken and you washing
it in a cough, I wouldn't get right there, that's
a clue. Yes, that's that happened.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
If I'm washing the chicken and it cough did, I'll
probably go probably throw it out.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
So what kind of what kind of wings at four
fifty degrees are you having? Lemon pepper?

Speaker 2 (02:38):
You have a hot right, I'm not really that much
of a lemon pepper guy. Grilled, just grilled good lemon barbee.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Great.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Grilled is good, but fried is delicious. Yeah, this next level.
I don't care who you are, but I better had grill.
None you would chicken.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
That's like going down the chick fil like getting that
grill or chicken saying well, you just say, what is
we down here for?

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Yeah, give me that chicken with the fifty one ingres
or something.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
All right, guys, coming up next, it is Roscoe Wallace
in the building. Sure he has something to say right
after this or sing right after. You're listening to the
Steve Hardy Morning Show.
