Speaker 3 (00:07):
Justin case you missed it, August fifth was the second
anniversary of the Montgomery Riverfront brawl. Remember that last year
and people on social media are calling it chairteenth. We
all remember it was a couple of years ago, I
should say we all remember back in twenty twenty three,
a group of white voters beating up a black riverboat
co captain on the Montgomery river Front. The co captain

(00:29):
made an announcement asking the boat goers to just move
there pontoon boats, and they refused. When the co captain
arrived on the deck, he was attacked by the group
and that's when he threw his cap in the air
and it was basically on from there.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
We all saw it. We all saw it.

Speaker 3 (00:46):
So shout out to the then sixteen year old deckhand
who swam the Alabama River, remember him to help his
co captain. This brawl highlighted the division of race relations
in this country.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
That quite frankly still exists. Yeah, named the chair team,
that's what that was.

Speaker 3 (01:05):
Oh yeah, and find out and find out the greatness
of me though, my favorite person and all that other
than the kid that swam over.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
There was the doc, the brother that worked on the dock.
When he threw that hat in his ass, he got
both hands up. I'm going to work now. I know
I'm out number, but I'm finna go to work first
person in though.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
You sleep first one, and you sleep.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
We're gonna be We're gonna be down one.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Yeah, he was the co captain. That was like, we
all saw that hat going there. It was like a signal.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
But then the brothers that was upstairs that saw it.
Okay that everywhere they come together, come together like that.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Everywhere.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
He would be amazing.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Come together though, right now, go.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Ahead, Beatles and Michael Jackson right.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Oh no, I'd have been on that doc clowning I'm
talking about because you have had the chair.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
Yes, but there was no reason for them to jump
on him. He was just asking them to move their boat.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
Yeah, that's all he was doing and they don't. Yeah,
that was terrible. When when the Calvary got down that one.
Remember that day, August fifth. Every year it's chair tea,
y'all putting something on a grill on this weekend.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
It's not an official holiday yet we can still have
a cookout. Yeah, yeah, cheer teen. Throw that hat up
in the air.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
You're listening. Hardy morning show
