Speaker 1 (00:00):
Designer dorms, designer dorms. Things have changed in college dorm life. Guys.
Parents are spending a lot, a lot of money to
decorate their kids college dorm rooms now like they're on
an HGTV makeover show or something. In fact, it's become
such a trend now that a woman in Mississippi quit
her job as an elementary school teacher and now has

(00:21):
a business where she decorates dorm rooms and she charges
up to twenty thousand dollars to do it. Twenty thousand dollars,
so it could be a lucrative. It's a lucrative business.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
For her, right But to get down the Walmart, get
you some colored sheets in the throw room, then learn yourself.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
So that's kind of the leads into the question, Steve,
what were your dorm rooms like when you were in college?
I had co designer room.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Yeah, I'm signed it oh Man. So first of all, yeah,
we had a super boy Rico. Yeah, we had a
super double because we was in a quad, but we
ran our roommates out so it was just ring him.
So he had a bedroom. I had a bedroom with
bunk beds in it. He had a bedroom with bunk

(01:13):
beds in it, and we each had a door. And
then we had a little common area, and then we
shared a bathroom with the sweet next door. It had
two sinks in it, one toilet in it, and one shower.
So what I did was each each each person had
a desk. I took the desk and stacked the desk

(01:35):
on top of each other to make an entertainment center.
I put money, where was you studying it? Study desk
was for for homework? Deep Oh no, no, no, no, no,
you did that right there. Then I had me a

(01:55):
bean bag chair, and then I went to the student
center one night. They had a luminum frame couch. I
put that on my head and walked that to my
room from the student center at the university. I used
the couch that I set on at the student center
to sit on it in my room.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Did you have permission to take that?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
No? But the other other students was allowed to come
in my room and sit on it. Hit a cold part,
I took some oxy dog bleaching soap powder, put mixed
a little water in it, made a past because it
had the blue bleaching crystals, and I took a spoon
and threw it all over the ceiling, splashed it, and

(02:40):
then I took a fish net and pinned it on that,
and inside the fish net I put Ohio Player and
other album covers. And then at night I had a
lava lamp and a blue light, and when I cut
the blue light on the oxy dog, bleaching crystals spark
or like stars in the.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Sky, you better go ahead and decorate, or you.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Couldn't tell me. N everybody trying to figure out how
I put it, I wouldn't tell nobody that was oxygog.
