Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, guys, yesterday it was a mixed verdict. On the
morning when you know Sean Ditty Colmbs. He was found
guilty of two out of the five counts we all saw.
Diddy's family was in the federal courthouse on Wednesday morning
yesterday when the verdict was announced in New York City.
The federal jury just found him. They found him guilty
(00:22):
of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and
not guilty on three of the more you know heavy charges,
the significant charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. In the courtroom,
did he turn to his family and said, I'm coming
home baby? It was a two month trial. Did he
(00:45):
has already served about nine months in federal prison while
awaiting the trial, and each charge of transportation to engage
in prostitution carries a maximum sentence of ten years in prison.
The judge after that, After that, later on the afternoon,
the judge denied his bail. You know Diddy will remain
(01:07):
in jail until his sentencing on the prostitution charges. Now,
the judge cited Diddy's history of violence and passing legal
conduct while explaining why he declined to release him. As
he awaits sentencing. So what do you guys think did
(01:28):
the jury I don't know jury did. Did they get
it right that the federal prosecution or the charges too
heavy they couldn't prove their case. What do you think,
Steve Junior?
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Well, let me say this. In this country, we are
supposed to respect the justice system and what the jury says,
the jury says. As I watched a trial, the Rico
case was starting to fall apart in front of my
(02:02):
face because I was sitting up here saying, that's the
first time I've ever seen Rico involve just one person.
You know. That's usually some other people going on the
stairs saying, yeah, I did this, but he paid me
to do it. Yeah I did. That's what it was,
by the orders of him from all the gangs and
stuff I've seen, that's what Rico is. Nobody said that,
(02:23):
you know, And so that got away from him. The
other charge of sex trafficking, they had too many. They
had too many text exchange be between him and certain
women that were agreeing with the stuff they were doing
and corroborating what they were doing and consenting to it.
(02:47):
And then that was a lot of disconsent and a
lot of I don't want to, I don't feel like
but then it was a lot of I want to
going on. So that's what got him away from that.
Now the prostitution thing, the transportation, they got him on
that that that was done. You know, the part of
all it is for me is, you know, I don't
(03:09):
revel in anybody going down. But the part for me
is how nobody, nobody in his camp all these years,
will go, hey, yo, puff, what you're doing?
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Man? Bro?
Speaker 2 (03:26):
You got to pull up? Amen, dog? You going too much? Amen?
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Dog.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
But but you the ones that say they saw him
physically abusing Cassie. What them dudes at they're supposed to go, yo, man,
you don't do that, Doug. You don't hit no woman
like that. No what you're doing? Hey, Cassie, come here,
you want some help, baby, Come on, let's get away
from this. Here. I'll walk you outside, let me let's
go call your mama something. Where was that? That was
(03:55):
the alarming part for me that in all of these years,
nobody in his camp said, hey man, these freak alls
getting out of hand. You don't think nobody gonna tell this.
I'm recording it now, Hey, bro, you don't think nobody
gonna tell nothing that. And so now we are where
we are now, and I just find it alarming, man.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
So you know what, you know, I think, go ahead, Jr.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
And then I'm saying, you know, it was the crazy
part about it was like saying the RICO charge and
nobody else is involved in the reco charge. But you know,
you know, like reco you think about like the mob
and organized crime, reco gotta be secret. Everybody. Everybody don't
know it. It's just like you said, the orders and
all when you got all these people at the freak
(04:42):
off and all this stuff here. Let mean, everybody know
what's going on in here. Everybody understands what's happening at
three o'clock in the morning over here. You know we're
doing you know. So it was more for me, like
everybody consented to this type of behavior. They knew they went,
they participated or do it.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Well, it's hard to prove it was an enterprise of it, right,
it was hard. I think it was hard for the
prosecution to prove that. For me, it's just another blow
to women who were sexually assaulted as victims, the hesitation
that women have to come forward. This is why because
(05:22):
powerful men. Powerful men get a chance to get away
with that kind of behavior and conduct. All in all,
whatever the prosecution failed to prove, there's some things that
we heard and learned about and saw with Diddy that
made him a monster. I don't care what any jury
(05:43):
says based on that kind of information. So go ahead.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
See.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
But you know, Carla, I don't think he's gotten away
with anything. I think he's gotten off with the lesser charge.
But I don't see him getting away with anything because
you have to pay. See, first of all, he wasn't
on trial for what he did to Cassie because that
had passed right, that had passed Thattue limitations, and that's
(06:11):
domestic violence. So he wasn't on trial for that. But
they uncovered, they pulled the curtain back. And so as
far as he's done with making new money, who what sponsor,
what person, what group, what studio? What anybody can attach
(06:31):
theyself to him? With the climate that we live in,
you know, we'll go to breaking up. We'll talk some
more because I want to say something. You're listening to
the morning show
