Speaker 1 (00:00):
After four days on the witness stand, Cassie Ventura concluded
her testimony on Friday at the trial of her ex
boyfriend Shawn Combs. She released a statement read by her attorney,
Douglas Wigder outside of court. He thanked her supporters for
their kindness and vowed to never forget, which she says
Shawn Colmbs did to her. It read in part, I

(00:22):
hope that my testimony has given strength and a voice
to other survivors and can help others who have suffered
to speak up and also heal from abuse and fear.
Cassie's husband, Alex Fine, also released a statement commending his
wife for her bravery testifying for four days in front
of a quote person who tried to break her. He

(00:44):
rejected the notion that he was the one who helped
Cassie escape ditty. Fine wrote in part, Cassie saved Cassie.
She also broke free from abuse, coerceian violence, and threats.
All I have done is love her her as she
has loved me. Her life is now surrounded by love, laughter,
and our family. The trial is expected to last eight

(01:08):
to ten weeks.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
That was the husband, That was the husband's that's right.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
That that's the hell of a dude.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Man.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
Yeah, listen to all that from your wife.

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Take it from me and Tommy your hell of a dude?

Speaker 4 (01:22):
What? Yeah, because you all would not have had that saying.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
I'm still thinking about the first day, everything I heard
the first day, I'm still thinking about all that.

Speaker 3 (01:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Well, you know, I do commend her though, because it
took a lot of courage, a lot of courage to
stand up there and put your whole life in front
of the world.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Now for all the moments.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, that's saying that you have a lot of compliance
in it, and not she's not. People are saying that
she's not innocent of this whole thing. She was complicit
with a lot of Once you understand what abuse really is, yes,
and the magnitude to what it goes to that right there, man,

(02:08):
can be understood and psychologically reasona way, I don't know
the word for it, but they have studied this long
enough to know the mindset that can cause this type
of behavior in a person.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
Yes, and if she did.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Have moments of compliance or whatever you want to call it,
there's enough of the other stuff, thank you, that offsets
a whole lot of so you know, you can say
what you want to say, but man, hold up, waitmen,
that was.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Not a lot of yeah, and you have to say
this in front of your family, like you guys were saying,
her husband had to hear it, her mother. I mean,
come on, this is this is really really something. But
you're right, Steve, An abuse a lot of times, you know,
the woman will feel like she made the man hit
her or beat her or abuse her. You know, that's

(03:01):
how crazy that cycle of abuse?

Speaker 4 (03:04):
Is it real?

Speaker 3 (03:06):
People? You know?

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Yeah, I don't know how you stay. The same thing
happened to Tina Turner.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
Yes, yes, very similar.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Here's the sad part.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
The same thing has happened to hundreds of thousands of
women who ain't famous.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Yes, it happens every day, yeah, every single Yeah.

Speaker 5 (03:27):
The problem is I don't I don't know when I
see it, Like if I see a couple, I can't.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Can you see it?

Speaker 5 (03:32):
Can you tell when somebody's going through something or they
are they hiding?

Speaker 4 (03:36):
Women mask it and make I mean see Tina Turner was.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
On stage right with a black eyes that covered in makeup. Yeah,
but sometimes you can if the way they talk to
talk to their spouse in public. You know, sometimes it
can be kind of harsh. You know, you can hear black.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yeah, right now, what I can't do at no stage,
even before I was famous, I can't see a man
physically beating a woman and not intervene.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
Oh yeah, I cannot say.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
I stopped the dude in a parking lot and it
came out one time and he said, hey, man, mind
your business. I said, bro, I can't let you do that.
I can't let you. And I was, I was like
twenty six years old.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
In your time. In growing up in your era and
our era, men were taught not to put their hands
on a woman.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
Period.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Now it happened, Yeah, it happened, but we couldn't see
it and sit there and go, okay, yeah that ain't
my business.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
No man, that's that's not how it worked.

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Yeah, mothers and fathers have to tell their daughters, do
not put your hands on a man.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
I was. I mean I was told that as a
little girl.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Yeah right, And now even more so than ever, you
got to say it because they weren't taught that.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Right. These young cats ain't talk. They swing it like
their men.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
That I mean, it's crazy to me, it's really yeah, for.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Your manhood, that walk away. Take it. It's all good.
What where that in you at? But it's such a
cowardice thing.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
To do to me. Yes, to jump on a woman?
Oh dog, really man, if you all that bad? But
you know what I've learned over my lifetime, most men
who are abusive to women, they a't not the same
way towards men.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
Very true, Steve.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
They are never ready for an altercation with a man.
Ain't never heard him talk about one. I knocked her out? Okay,
well what about him though?

Speaker 5 (05:44):
You know?

Speaker 3 (05:45):
All right?

Speaker 5 (05:46):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Moving on to the sad story. Former President Joe Biden
has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, his personal office announced
on Sunday. Uh, mister Biden is a two years old
and his family is reviewing treatment options with his doctor's.
President Trump wrote on Truth Truth, Truth, Social Melani and

(06:09):
I are saddened to hear that Joe Biden's recent medical diagnosis.
We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and
the family, and we wish Joe a fast.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
And successful recovery.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
Wow. Thank you. Yeah, he wrote that.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Well, they're attributing it to he.

Speaker 3 (06:28):
Wrote that.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
