Carla went, I didn't see you there. You know I
have been there.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
I showed, I showed.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
She was like, that's cold, that's my feelings were a
little hurt. But we'll get through it. We'll get through it,
make it.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
All right, congratulations again though, nephew. Okay, So moving on
to junior now, Junior sickle cell September is sickle cell
Awareness month, and Junior also this is the last day
of September. Of course, your work continues you're raising money
for sickle cell disease and help to find a cure
so no child will ever have to suffer with sickle

(02:47):
cell And that is amazing that you do that. You
have your foundation Here's Hope, and you do your annual
five k walk to wait raise awareness and funds for
sickle cell research. So give us a website and everything.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
It's Here's Hope dot org. K I E R s
Hope dot org. Yes it is. It's the last day
for awareness. It ain't the last day for me though,
that's sure. I appreciate the awareness, but Lord have mercy.
It's gonna go into October whether you want to believe
it or not. And I'm twenty, I'm three sixty five

(03:21):
awareness that's what I have to do. But it's been
a great month. I've had a lot of speaking engagement.
As a matter of fact, this Friday, I'll be in Greenville,
North Carolina for the Robinson Sickle Cell Foundation as the
keynote speaker. And you know the thing about it, surely
is I Carl and time I go and I speak
about having a successful life even having the disease, because

(03:46):
like they don't see me, and you know, once they
tell you that it's over, you know, like they give
you this number. Everybody gets this number. You know, they'll
tell you that your life gonna end at nine, at
fifteen or twenty. And what happens is you snatched that
child's dreams away and now they don't have nothing to
look forward to. But once you make it past the number,

(04:07):
you still got to live. Because that's what happened to me,
because once they told me I was gonna die to eleven.
When I got to twelve, I ain't know what to do.
I said, way, I ain't supposed to be here eleven
they tell you was out. Yeah, yeah, and the doctor
can be wrong, and he was just wrong. Yeah, And
now here I am. We're healthy at forty seven, doing
the things that I love to do. And that's what

(04:28):
I want all people with living with sickle sell to
understand that you can have a successful life even with
the diagnosis. When they tell you, ye, it's over, that's
not true. In junior, go ahead and live your life.
Get your life together and go ahead to live it
like that.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Once they and once you pass that number they gave you,
don't give me another number. Okay, no, they never do.
Once I passed eleven. Don't don't hit me with thirty one.
Don't give me another number.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
I'm not, but that's Timmy. That was my pickup line
at fifteen, you know, four years past my dead you
got all the girls told you you got to love me.
I'm special. I'm supposed to be here though. Women loved it.
That's how I got girlfriends testimony.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Boy, wow, yeah, its powerful.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
It is sure is a blessing man.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
All right.

Speaker 1 (05:18):

or it doesn't sound familiar, familiar at all. She is
the ex wife of billionaire Jeff Bezos. Okay, Mackenzie Scott
has donated a whopping get this number, guys, seventy million

(05:39):
dollars to the United Negro College Fund, all right, and
this is yes, thank you, And this is an addition
to the ten million that she donated back in twenty twenty.
The seventy million dollar gift will be used by the
UNCF Endowment Fund, which was created to help with finances
at historically black colleges and universities HBCUs. Now in a

(05:59):
press come conference. In a press release, the President of
UNCF stated, quote, this is this extraordinary gift is a
powerful vote of confidence in hbc USED and in the
work of the u n c F. It's a once
in a generation opportunity for HBCUs to build permanent assets
