Speaker 1 (00:01):
Well, Steve, you said you didn't care because you loved him.
But Lebron James had fans on edge when he teased
online recently that he was about to make the decision
of all decisions. Everyone thought Lebron was about to make
a major decision about his career, like when he announced
he would be leaving the Miami Heat to play with
(00:21):
the Cleveland Cavaliers. You remember that, But this time, Lebron's
big announcement had nothing to do with basketball at all.
It was an announcement for his partnership with an alcohol brand.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
We have a clip of that. Take a listen. Lebron
fans want to know where you're taking your talents this year.
What's your decision? And it's fall, man, this is tough
and it's fall.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
I'm going to be taking my talents to HENNESSYVSOP VSOP.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
And this was a conclusion you woke up with this morning.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
That was a conclusion I woke up with this morning.
Ah wah, So what do you think of that?
Speaker 2 (01:04):
Steve still a Laker?
Speaker 3 (01:05):
I told you all quick, Yeah, you did stop caring,
he said, un your man, he you ain't got nothing
to do with Lebrony.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Somebody, I'm going to Houston fool talking about his vs.
Hope y'all? So man, Lebron was coming to hout Junior,
ain't nobody else? I thought he was gonna say that?
What I mean?
Speaker 3 (01:35):
Kevin Durant already I thought he was going back to
Cleveland too, So so now what.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Both? So much?
Speaker 1 (01:47):
All right? Moving on to a comedian and talk show host,
Sherry Shepherd Well, Sherry took time out of her show
on Monday recently to send a message to NBC and
Saturday Night Live. Uh Sherry urge SNL and its producers
to immediately hire a new black, black female cast member.
She called it a quote break glass in case of
(02:09):
emergency moment and recalled past instances where male cast members
portrayed black women in skits. For instance, Keenan Thomas, Keenan
Thompson played Rooby Goldberg, and even Sherry herself was impersonated
once by a male comic. On the show, Cherry said, quote,
it's twenty twenty five. Don't tell me you can't find anybody.
There's so much talent out there. This shouldn't even be
(02:32):
a debate. So do any you agree with her? Do
any female comedians come to mind.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Ain't nobody told Shay antimod I anybody ton so they
don't have to.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
She talked about twenty twenty five. It's Project twenty twenty five.
That's what happened in this get yeah. See y'all, y'all
listen to me. They cutting out everything, you know. Can
I make a comment.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
On dee I too, Sure?
Speaker 3 (03:00):
Here's the problem with d Charlie Kirk said one time
he was talking to a young African American and Charlie
Kirk said to him he didn't like DEI because it
lowers the standards. And then he said, like, suppose the
NBA had DEI in it and you had to have
(03:21):
X amount of white players?
Speaker 2 (03:22):
How would you all feel about that? See?
Speaker 3 (03:25):
But that mask what DEI really is. And I've given
this some thought. DI is for equity and inclusion and diversification.
What DEI does is it forces people behind the scenes,
in board rooms, in HR departments, and in interview rooms.
(03:49):
It forces them to consider other people that they would
not consider because they normally take the stance of hining
their friends and people that look a lot like them.
That's why DEEI came about to force them DI does
not lower standards at all. All it does is it
(04:11):
forces you to consider someone else. See, the reason there
is no need for DEI in the NBA is because
everything is upfront. We all know the court is ninety
four feet long. We all know the free throw fifteen
feet from the basket. We all see that the basket
it's ten feet high. We all know what traveling is,
(04:31):
we know what charging is. We know where the file is,
and it's played in front of everybody. So it's hard
to do what y'all been doing in board rooms HR
and interview rooms because it's all out front. On the
football field, we see it. All the rules is on
display for everybody. So if you dishonted the rules cause
(04:54):
the person's color, we can see it. DEI was created
will force you behind the scenes to consider other.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
People that don't look like you. So that old statement
he made about it.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
If I get on the pilot, if I get on
the plane I see a black pilot, i'ma be concerned.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
When you get on the plane you see a black
person up there, Go in your.
Speaker 3 (05:16):
Seat, put your seat belt on, buckle up, get your iPad,
start playing in one of your games, and relax. Because
you are now in the hands of one of the
most qualified people in the world up there, because if
you thank him, White Fris gave him the keys to.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
That plane without dragging.
Speaker 3 (05:35):
Him through the requirements and then the other stuff we
got to put up.
Speaker 2 (05:41):
You got to relax as being constant what he had
to do to become that. We all have to work
since we were kids.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
It's an entertainment and all the entertainment contracts that y'all
don't see. If you knew what the counterparts were making,
you will be stunned.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
Thick thick.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
But yeah, I was just gonna say, do you do
any female comedians come to mind that you that you
think should be honestate?
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Yeah, Sherry Sheppard, Yeah, okay, I like it. I like it. Yeah,
I like that, sister.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
They have all right, guys, leads used to kill it
on there
Speaker 2 (06:25):
By your root off, you're listening Harvey Morning Show.
