Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, we're all saddened, I mean really saddened by the
news we got on yesterday about four time Grammy winner
and R and B icon Di'angelo. DiAngelo passed away at
the age of fifty one from pancreatic cancer. D Angelo
created his own form of soul music, with a timeless
mix of gospel, funk, jazz, and hip hop that helped

(00:22):
usher in the neo soul movement in the nineteen nineties.
His debut album Brown Sugar helped redefine R and B
and inspired numerous artists over the years.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
But what did it for the ladies? And all the ladies?

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Remember this was Di'angelo's how does It Feel? Video? Come
on Carla, untitled Baby. It's called untitled how does it Feel?
We all looked at that screen and said, what is act?

Speaker 3 (00:50):

I thought I could do it.

Speaker 2 (00:56):

He was completely nude, remember that, completely nude showing off
his chest.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Now you know something, man, I never saw the video.
What I heard the song a million times, never saw
the video.

we could say.

Speaker 5 (01:35):

Speaker 4 (01:39):
I sent him the D'Angelo passing and he sanging, how
does it feel? And I sent it to him and
I said, this young brother was born on the day
that most of us was met, that most of us met,
because I met most of my boys fifty one years ago.
He was born on the day. But he was a throwback.
This cat was cold throwback.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Oh yeah, yes, yes, he was that voice. He was
at Motown Sound. He was that dude man special.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
Never had it been done quite like that before DiAngelo.
He is survived by his children and close family, who
have asked for privacy at this time. He shares a
son with the late icon Angie Stone, who passed away
in March of this year. How crazy is that? Hip
hop and his parents Yeah. The hip hop and R

Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
