Speaker 1 (00:01):
All right, guys, let's talk about it. Did He had
his sentencing hearing on Friday, and the prosecution's opening arguments
revealed that did He seem so confident that he would
be released on time served that he had already booked
speaking engagements for the following week. What so, the federal

(00:23):
prosecutor stated that quote, even now at sentencing for his
conviction for two federal crimes, Diddy hasn't fully grappled with
how his actions got him here. His respect for the
law is just lip service. Your thoughts, guys, Well, he.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Ain't gonna make an interview, that's for sure.

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Yeah, speaking engagement, speaking again, that's probably all.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
That's all. I think he ain't gonna make it, you know. Yeah. So,
following the prosecutor's statement, members of Didty's family and his children,
even Didty himself addressed the court. Did He called his
actions quote disgusting, shameful, and sick, and he asked the
judge for mercy. The judge told Diddy that quote the quote,

(01:12):
the court is not assured that if released, these crimes
will not be committed again. That's an unquote, he then said.
He then sentenced didd He to fifty months in prison
four years and two months. He will receive credit for
the approximately thirteen months he has already served in jail,

(01:32):
and this means that he would be released in twenty
twenty eight. Did He was also fined five hundred thousand
dollars and will have five years of supervised release After
his sentencing. Did He turn to his family, tapped his
heart and told them quote, I love you, I'm sorry,
I'll be okay. As he gathered his papers and was

(01:52):
escorted out by court martials. Did He's attorneys told U,
which you say, no, No, go ahead, go ahead? Oh
I was just going to say. His attorneys told various
news sources that the judge's ruling is unconstitutional because the
judge used the word coercion at at least a dozen
times during the sentencing hearing, and even though a jury

(02:13):
had found there was no coortion. Did He's attorneys say
they have a strong basis to appeal did he sentence.
So there you go. It will be in prison for
more years.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
See for me, I don't celebrate the demise of anybody.
I'm not you know, I don't celebrate. But here's the
thing that I've learned, especially as you get older, it's consequences,
and the older you get, it seems to me like

(02:47):
the more severe the consequences. That's from my own experience.
That's what I think. And something my father in law
says all the time about sin. Sin costs you more
than you want to pay. It makes you stay longer
than you want to stay. And I think that's very
appropriate in this case right here. You know, I don't

(03:09):
know why you would book a speaking engagement and possibly
let it like like, ain't nobody gonna find out? You know, Hey, man,
Puffy gonna be down at the jail night center next Friday. Yeah, yeah, Puffy,
And he like, yeah, he getting out? Man. Yeah. So
I thought that was crazy. But you know, and for

(03:32):
people that's talk about that's not enough time. You know,
I'm not in the judicial system. Here's my opinion about it.
Four years is a long time. I don't care who
you are. I don't care who you are. Four years
is a long time, especially when you've been living the
life he been living. It's hard for anybody. You take
a cat man take once you lose your freedom for

(03:55):
four years, that man, that's hard. Man. I don't care
what nobody said.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
You know, yeah, I mean, I think the judge he
sent a message that when he was doing the sentencing
and he said to Cassie, you know, this message to
you is I heard you, we heard you, we heard
you speak up. And so that's a yeah, that's a
message for some of the victims as well. No matter

(04:25):
the length. I mean, I hear what you're saying, Steve,
about the length, but at least the judge acknowledged her
testimony and what she had been through.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
So no, you know, and like I'm just talking about
the length. I'm not saying it's justified or unfaired, none
of that, because hey man, you know, had you not
done any of this, you be at the house, that's all. Yeah, well,
you know.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
And the other thing is about the length, Steve, you know,
it's supposed to change you in some way, you know,
hopefully for the better in this case, because all the
s stuff that came out in court that he did that,
you know that that's a lot. Hopefully you'll have some
time to reflect and really, you know, if your apologies

(05:10):
are sincere, hopefully you know, you'll do some self reflection
and say this was wrong and maybe apologize sincerely, apologize.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
Really a year ain't changing because you're still thinking like.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Right, exactly right, yeah, you know.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
And but see here's the thing, folks about money, And
I say this all the time. Money does not change you.
Money allows you to be more of who you really are.
So all you saw, all you saw was somebody who
had the money and the power to act out on
what was in his heart. And you want to control people.

(05:50):
You want to control and freak off. You want to
control sex. You want to beat people, make them do
what you want to do. Hey, bro, listen to me.
That's who you really are. And money allowed you to
facilitate all of this. Well, now it's consequences. Yeah, well
its consequence bro. Now you got to bro. But you

(06:12):
got to sit here and deal with this now, you know.
And and and man, if you look at the Sugar Nights,
the r Kelly's and the Puffies, I don't know nobody
who need to be sitting up and not learning this
lesson without having to get some time.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Exactly yes, yes, yes, yes, all right, guys. So we'll
have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this.
