Well, guys, we've been following this story now for a
few days, and one of the monkeys that escaped last
week after a truck overturned on a Mississippi highway was
shot and killed early Sunday by a woman who says
she feared for the safety of her children.

Speaker 2 (00:16):

Vond Ferguson said her sixteen year old son told her
that he thought he saw a monkey running in the
yard outside their home.

Speaker 2 (00:25):
They live in Heidelberg, Mississippi.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
She got out of bed, grabbed her firearm, and stepped outside,
where she saw the monkey about sixty feet away. The
woman told ap quote, I shot at it and it
just stood there, and I shot again, and he backed
up and that's when he fell. Ferguson said she had
called the police and was told to keep an eye

on the monkey. If it attacked somebody's kid and I
could have stopped it, that would have been on me.
A lot of that would have been on me, she said.
So here's a question, Steve, have you guys ever dealt
with an animal trespassing on your property or anything?

Ah shot the monkey, No good, I didn't shoot the deputy.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
No, no junior with no fence, you might.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Oh yeah, sure, they're trying to get back there all
the time. I see turkeys, you know, they get to
get a kyotes still on.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Me back there, turkey's cayoke.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
No, no, sure, I deal with dogs.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
Just do okay, okay, then tell me I have some
wild hogs on his property before he says, yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
So how you feel about she's a sister, Jessica. She's
been on the news.

Speaker 3 (01:41):
Yeah, she done heard about the monkeys.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
The monkeys, that's it.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
If they come around here, that's the last yard. Now,
I'm not finna have COVID cause of no monkey. You're
not finna bite me. You're not gonna grab on me.
I ain't, Michael, we ain't. We're gonna do monkeys over here.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
You thought you saw a monkey.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Though you're moved by real fans by the window, she
shouting the money of monkey.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
I just away.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Well, well, she well, sixty feet that's good. And what
we're not gonna do is wait until you six feet
that's right.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Come with you when you're right.

Speaker 4 (02:23):
Yeah, we're gonna deal with just tens of sixes. You're
not feeling be six feet away.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
And she felt justified because she thought her hats would be.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
I ain't got no problem with this monkey. Gone, you
don't I got no problem this month ago and all
these animal lovers.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
Out there, she could have gone someone I hain't seen
about it, and they could have came and picked No, no, no.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
No, she said.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
She didn't call the police.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
She told her to keep an eye out. So she
was this monkey.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
I'm not finna falling this monkey.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Tree climbing skills and all this shuff. I'm not gonna
keep our own. I'm gonna lay this mucket down.
