According to CNN, the National Guard is on the streets
of Washington, d C. Now. President Trump is justifying his
temporary federal takeover of policing in Washington, d C. And said,
in part the crime situation in Washington, DC quote is
getting worse, not getting better. DC Mayor Muriel Bowser said,

(00:21):
in part quote, I'm also really ticked off about the
intrusion on the district's autonomy and the characterization of a
good work that we do in this city to make
it beautiful and to have excellent services, to attract millions
of tourists, to have a growing school system, to have
a growing city with new residents showing up every day.
So that's the real Washington. And guess this, guys. Overall

violent crime numbers have fallen in Washington, d C. After
twenty three spike. Violent crime declined in twenty twenty four
and has declined again so far in twenty twenty five.
So what is the president really trying to do here?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Well, the President, let's let's stop this right here. This
administration is not tough on crime. Let's stop that right now.
That's not what they're tough on. If they were tough
on crime, they would not have pardoned all of those
January sixth rioters who beat and were in the presidence

of officers who lost their lives and was breaking and
entering in the capitol. So if they were tough on crime,
they wouldn't have did it. He's pardoned more people than
any other president, criminals than any other president, so they're
not He's not tough on crime. He's tough on his enemies. Well,

(01:42):
anybody that goes up against him, black, female mayor white governor. Man,
it don't matter if you were his enemy. He told
you in the beginning he's gonna come after you for
one month. He's extended that to his entire presidency because
he's just that petty. So that's what he's tough on.

(02:03):
I was listening to some residents of Washington, d C.
On CNN last night who were glad to see a
couple of old black residents who were glad to see
because she felt like she couldn't even go outside no more,
and now she felt comfortable seeing more of a police
presidence there. I understand also what the mayor is saying,

(02:24):
but there is a medium in here that could be reached,
especially in high crime cities. If you look at the
top four high crime cities Cleveland, Memphis, Detroit, and I
think the other one was DC, Chicago and well in
the top but on the top four, I know Cleveland

(02:46):
made top four. I was just sitting there going, damn. Yeah.

Do you think this is part of a distraction too
for him?

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Of course, everything the economy bobs and the Epstein five
Jeffrey Epstein.
