Speaker 1 (00:00):
So many Minneapolis based Target will phase out its DEI
programs that support black employees, black owned businesses, and LGBTQ
plus inclusion. After hearing this, a lot of blacks took
social media to call for massive boycotting.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Of all Target stores.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
Social media influencer Tabitha Brand posted a video to make
consumers aware of how a boycott would negatively impact the
sales of black owned brands that are sold in Target stores.
Tabitha Brand has several products that are now being sold
at Target. Research gathered for the Insider shows at nearly
(00:40):
eight out of ten shoppers in the US shop at Target,
and Target's typical consumer is a white suburban mother between
the ages of thirty five and forty four with a
household income of eighty thousand dollars.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
So here's a question, what do you guys think about this?
Speaker 1 (00:56):
If we boycott Target, do we boycott every restore that
has gotten rid of its d EI program and all?
Speaker 3 (01:06):
And I believe Target was one of the contributors to
the Trump campaign, if I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Not mistaken, one of the biggest, I think.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
If I'm not mistaken, So you're dealing with an ownership
that is pro Trump anyway.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Oh, Now, what you have to pay attention to is
how many companies follow suit. He did what he said
he was gonna do, and you boycotting target. I mean, okay,
if that's what y'all want to do, but what is
that gonna do? Because she's absolutely correct the black businesses
(01:46):
that have products in there, they gonna get hurt too.
It's just a we're in a tough spot here, man,
because all this is in Project twenty twenty five. You
see this, make America great again. I kept trying to
tell people, make America great again for who All you
could do is push it back. And every time we
push back, we pushing back into all types of stuff.
(02:09):
The DEI is affecting college entry level stuff. They erased
the nineteen sixty four Civil.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Rights actable, right, that's right.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Do you understand there's no more affirmative action, that's no
more holding people to the eye to make sure the
minorities are included. Na, man, So now they gonna make
America great again when it was greater for them when
they controlled everything, And now they're back to control and
they can hire who they want to.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
Hire, do like they want to do. And that's a
sad space win.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Now, and you got to think about it.
Speaker 1 (02:42):
You're sir right, Steve, about hurting our black businesses. I mean,
when you think about it, it's Tamoth Tabatha brand, it's
Taraji p Hens and I think she has hair products
and their Tracy ellis ross with hair products than Target.
You know, so you're going to be hurting these people
as well. I mean you want to do something maybe,
but is this the smartest move?
Speaker 3 (03:02):
And if you if you don't get your products out
of Target, where you're gonna go and wherever thats you go?
Speaker 4 (03:07):
Are they doing the same thing? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (03:11):
I mean.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
This guy is doing what he said he's gonna do
and I and I said all along it will benefit
the rich, but I'm very deeply concerned about the common man.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
You said that that's true.
Speaker 3 (03:29):
And and and and and and now it's starting to
play itself out and it's it's no holes barred man.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
But they said day one, Steve, they said on day one,
And that's what he's been doing.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
He's been in office for a week.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
Man, he picking up people.
Speaker 3 (03:44):
Ices is out there busy picking people up, deporting people.
Are they down there they're sending troops down to the border,
you know, and and and dee I. They getting rid
of all of it because here's the deal. If you
don't have to understand what the civil rights movement and
Affirmative Action did, it made companies have to hire x
(04:08):
amount of minorities and women because otherwise, now that you
don't have to do that, you can put your people
in place, and they can turn a blind eye to
all of the other stuff that.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
Goes on behind closed doors in the boardroom, because.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
If you ain't got no blacks and women in there
and Latinos and everybody reporting.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Wait a minute, they're doing this, it can go unchecked.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
So now they get to put all of their white
people in power and.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
Position and control the narrative.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Yeah, you're still right.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
In a perfect world, we wouldn't need the EI. In
a world without racism, we wouldn't need these programs. But
because it's not a perfect world and there is racism,
we have to include everyone, and that's what's been happening,
you know, And now they're cutting that out. So we're
gonna be left out if we don't. I don't have
the answer to that.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
One America wasn't built on d e I. America was
built on the backs of slaves. So now let's just
make America.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Great degree yeah, for free.
Speaker 4 (05:16):
And here we are, man, So it's gonna be a
long ride. Yeah yeah. And how do we fight this though?
What is the plan to fight this? Do we have
a plan to fight this? The fight was at the
voting box.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
In November.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
That that was That was the fight. Yeah, and you
lost that fight, so now you got to take the
ass whipping.
Speaker 1 (05:45):
Ye.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
So you know, I don't I don't really have a plan.
I don't.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
I can't come up with a plan for this because
he has. The entire Republican Party has bowed down to
this guy, and nobody's fighting back. I mean, this dude
is doing some ridiculous stuff too.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
The birthright thing that he's trying to reverse that if
you're born in the United States, you don't become a citizen.
He's trying to flip that. That's constitutionally not the correct
thing to do.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Yeah, project, but he's trying to do that. And the
Golf of America, boy.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
It's coming up in twenty minutes after the hour, the
Eagles and the Chiefs are going to the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
