Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, guys, here we are last break of the
day on this Thursday. It's been a fun day and
we want to say thank you, as we always do
to our audience for listening every single day, loyally, loyally
for twenty years. Loyalty, loyalty. We appreciate that. All right, Steve.
So earlier we had a phone call from a federal

(00:23):
worker who was very much affected by the government shut down.
You know, this is like the second one, Yeah, the
second longest government shut down in the history of our country.
So here's what she had to say.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Take a listen what they had.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (00:40):
Morning, I was watching listening to your morning show this
morning while we're talking about the government shutdown and as
a better wire work, and I'm actually a federal teacher
and we are not getting hey, but we still have
to fill up the work the supplements that income what
come of our and myself has been doing. We have

(01:02):
been doing DoorDash and left, but we still we're still
coming to work every day with files on our face,
but late at night and when we get off, we're
doing door dash and we're doing lift and things like that.
So it's really really sad that we have to come,
Tobi Hum.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yeah. I mean I feel for you, I really really do.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
I can only sympathize with you because I'm not in
that position that you're in, because I don't have a
job where you're gonna not pay me and I'm still coming.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
I don't have that type of position.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
The moment, the moment family feud or this radio show
or anybody else for that matter, tells me, Steve, we
don't have your money, immediately after you say that, you
don't have me. So I can't even I can't even

(01:58):
really wrap my mind around that. How unfair this is
to these federal workers, how unfair it is that this
government is shut down. The part that I don't like
about any of this it's all politically based. It's not
none of this is for the good of the people.
Because if you listen to the Republicans, the Democrats shut

(02:18):
the government down because they needed at least twelve of
the Democrats to agree to keep it open and they didn't.
So they're blaming the Democrats. The good Democrats are blaming
the Republicans because they're saying in this bill and the
way they want to craft this thing is that it's
going to hurt a lot of people's health care if

(02:39):
they allow this to go down the way it's going down.
And they're saying let's negotiate, well, the Republicans are saying,
open the government and let's negotiate, Well, all your negotiating
power is gone at that point.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
You do know that, you do know that you can't.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
So either way you look at this, it's the Democrat's
fault and it's the Republican's fault. But guess who pays
for this? The people the House and the Senate. They
still getting a check and why And Mike Johnson has
sent everybody home, the speaker during the shutdown. They should

(03:21):
be at work trying to resolve this thing. But you
all listen to me. This is a very very different
political climate we're in. We're in a political climate where
rules don't matter anymore. Normality is gone out the window, judges,
orders are disrespected. Nothing is the same anymore. Nothing is

(03:47):
the same. We're living in a time now where we
have a president that has supreme rule and command and
we have to grapple with that.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
And I mean, and it's going down whether you like
it or not.

Speaker 3 (04:05):
And they can shape this anyway they want to they
can say, this is not what we're doing, but this
is exactly what we're doing, and this is exactly what's happening,
and for anybody to be okay with this. And the
thing that I'm afraid of most is it has redefined
the way politics will be played in this country from
now on, because Donald Trump has laid down a blueprint

(04:28):
that has worked. And if you don't think the next
one coming along is gonna follow that exact same blueprint,
you are sadly mistaken.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
It's because politics is just replication.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
They look before and see what work that got them
where they are, and that's what they're gonna do.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
The Republican Party is.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Forever changed, forever change, and the Democratic Party has changed also,
And if the Democrats don't become the same gangsters that
the Republicans are, they're gonna get gangsted right out of
business because Democrats cannot show weakness. The only two people

(05:12):
I see three four really, these are the four people
that I think have a chance in the Democratic Party.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Jasmin Crockett, Hakeem Jeffries.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
More than out of Baltimore, out of Maryland, Moreland, and
Gavin Newsom.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Out of California.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
Them the only four that I see that have the
the the guts to stand up.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
Now, is any of it working? I don't know how
it is.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Gavin Newsom seems to be the one closest to making
the most noise with it, but he gonna need a
running mate.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
One of them brothers would be it.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Yeah, we not Wes Moore.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Yeah, I like Wes.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
I like West a lot, and I like Hakeen Dreffies
when he speaks tough. But we need somebody tough man.
And because you ain't gonna beat Trump, because Trump is
gonna run again in twenty twenty eight.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
I don't know how, but you don't. You know their
preparing to rule.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Yeah, yeah, there's nothing you can do about it. Hey, y'all,
But either way, guess what, I'm gonna have a great
life because I serve a great God and ain't nobody
in charge of me but Him. So now I invite
y'all to do the same. Have a great day today,
y'all talk to God. He would absolutely love to hear
from you today.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Y'all. Stay in peace.

Speaker 4 (06:50):
For all.

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist

It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
