Speaker 1 (00:00):
Smokey Robinson was accused of sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment,
gender violence, and creating a hostile work environment by four
Jane Does, who worked for Smokey and his wife Francis
for almost twenty years. The four Jane Doe accusers seek
a total of fifty million dollars in damages from eighty
five eighty five year old Smokey Robinson. The Daily Mail

(00:23):
put in a call to Smokey on Wednesday to address
the allegations, and Smokey replied, quote, I am appalled. I
can't speak about this right now. The reports of abuse
were very descriptive, and the accusers claimed that Smokey's wife
Francis was aware of the sexual abuse over the years.
So we have to the story is still developing. We

(00:44):
have to wait to see what happened here. Yeah he's
eighty five.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Yeah, wow, very.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
Disad they said. They said the Jane Does were afraid
of losing their jobs.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
See here's the climate that we live here. You can't
comment on this subject. You can't say anything that you
truly feel because you're just not allowed to because of
political correctness. So everyone on this show sides with the
potential victim. And you do it repeatedly, and if you

(01:18):
stand up and say for an instant I find that
hard to believe, then all of a sudden you get
thrown into the category of saying that people who are
accuseders are liars. I've known Smoky for a number of years,
and I'm hoping it's not true. That's what I'm saying.
I'm hoping it's not true because I've known the man.

(01:41):
I've known the man for a long time. I don't know,
but even once again, I don't know his private life.
You know, I knew bills, you know, and I've had
people come to me all the time. How can you
still be friends with him? Look, man, I can't erase
the good this this man has done towards me and

(02:02):
the things he's done for me and taught me and
set me down with Karr. Because he did something obscure
or something ratchet in his private life. How could you
still be friends? You ain't got no friends? Done something
messed up? I do them, we.

Speaker 3 (02:21):
All, I think what it is to Steve. It's like
when you hear about sexual assault accusations. A lot of
times women the victims aren't not believed, and because sometimes
these accusers are famous. People take the celebrity side all
enriched automatically, and the victims are never heard. So I
think at this point people are saying, you know, you

(02:42):
got to listen to what the victims are saying, especially
for serious allegations. And though sometimes the accusations are false,
sometimes they're true.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Here's I want to say. Something will be come back
about that.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
