Speaker 1 (00:01):
All right, Steve, This is from DK on Steve Harvey FM.
DK says, I just lost my job, but I'm not
upset because it wasn't what I wanted to do and
there was no future in it. My parents, though, are
freaking out. They want me to beg for the job
back or get the first job I can. But I'd
rather tap into my savings and take some time to

(00:22):
land a gig that actually gets me excited. I know
that I only have this luxury because they're still letting
me live at home, but I feel like it's worth
investing now to build a life I really want. How
do I get my old school parents to see things
my way?

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Okay? Is this a guy?

Speaker 1 (00:41):
It just says DKA. So I don't.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
Well, either way, you're not going to get your old
school parents to see it your way. They dug in,
they dug in. The fact that you lost your job
is not the end of the world. It could be
a blessing because it can lead to something great. I'd
say all the time, when a door closes in your face,
don't stand there beating on the door, walk up the hall,

(01:05):
all that going back to beg for your job. Na man,
Just walk up the hall it's some modos. I'm heading
up the hallway right now, right now, I'm going up
the hallway, and so you have to look at it
like that. Now, I don't know how you tell them that,
you go, Why do you have to explain it to
them like that. If you're going to dip into your

(01:27):
savings to wait until you pursue something that you really
want to do, then't do that. But stop telling them that.
Just do it because you're gonna be looking for that
thing that you really want to do, the thing that
you enjoy doing. And this could be a chance to
reset your life. You know, you didn't lose nothing. You

(01:48):
didn't like the job. It's okay, Yeah, so just go
on and focus on getting what you want to do
and hopefully it's tied to your gift and then you'll
have a better life. It's better to have a career
than a job. Okay, My career is something you want
to do. Like everybody on this show, we have radio careers.
You know, it's ain't a job. If you want a job,
you can go do something else.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Yeah, all right, thanks, great advice. All right, Steve, This
is from bj BJ, says my ex from two years ago,
decided to DM my current girlfriend to tell her that
I'm cheating on her. For the record, I'm not cheating
on my girlfriend. I'm being forced to defend myself against
something that never existed. The problem is we're now two

(02:30):
weeks into this mess and my girlfriend says it's a
problem if I'm not willing to discuss this. In my mind,
I have discussed it and I'm done with it. What
can I do?

Speaker 2 (02:41):
She keeps tripping, Well, you know, your girlfriend is allowing
your ex to have input in you all's relationship. That's
not a smart thing on her part. I think your
girlfriend is going to have to realize why is she
in this?

Speaker 1 (03:00):
What is her purpose?

Speaker 2 (03:02):
All? She trying to see misery love company so she
won't see First of all, she thinks, I'm telling you
right now, the ex girlfriend thinks that you, ma'am, are
the that that this dude's current girlfriend is the reason
she ain't the girlfriend no more so now she gonna
make her feel the same thing. She she gonna blame her.

(03:24):
Your girlfriend has to go, you know. Look, I mean, bro, look,
you just have to prove it, you know. And but
your girl gonna have to she gonna have to bag
up a little bit and understand who the messenger is. Yeah. Yeah,
you always remember whoever brings you bad news. Focus on

(03:44):
the person that brought it to you, because what was
their reasoning for bringing it to you? Always look at that,
okay fire.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
I had a girl tell on me one time, you know,
four d MS was out. She just saw it, said, hey, girl.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
She saw her, she saw your current girl.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Yeah, I saw her somewhere. You know, he ain't right.
I wasn't right for you, right. You know, you just
really have to consider the source whenever you get some information. Man,
I just did a podcast, the Pivot Podcast, and I

(04:25):
really did something smart on that podcast. And so but
they bought up a rumor or some internet medicine. I
just had to squash it.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
