Speaker 1 (00:01):
Alright, everybody has problems. We got special guests this morning.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Listen.

Speaker 1 (00:05):
At this point, they don't really need an introduction, so
just let me tell you something. They have accomplished something
that I thought would never ever be achieved in the
comedy business, because what they're doing right now I've never
seen done. The Kings of Comedy was the last group
of people who went out and had a hugely successful tour,

(00:27):
but they even took that up to the next level.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
They started as an improv group.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
I have never seen three men get on the stage,
Carlo Ico. I ain't never seen three men get on
the stage and do what they've done and have the
level of success that they've had. And they are doing
Kings of Comedy crowd numbers in a way that I
thought would never happen. So I have to tip my

(00:57):
hat to these legendary young cats who are doing something
that I thought would never be done. They are the
ringing version two point zero of the Kings of Coming.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Heyes, and gentlemen eighty five south.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Man, thank you every time I'm to do no right,
yeah man, he give us that one.

Speaker 4 (01:26):
I never thought it would be done.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
On President.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
Hey, we got cheeko we got Carlos and we got
DC fly. How your brother's doing man in the morning,
the morning? Yeah, man a right, let me tell you
about this little food d C. He was on Celebrity
Family few and the show was kind of starting late.
So when I was backstage, they were micy me up.

(02:01):
Now they all of the two teams is out there.
DC leaves the stage and comes backstage to see me.
While I'm getting miked up, I was doing mouth washing
all kinds of stuff. I had to spit out and hug,
hug my little young homie because boy, he just different.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
This whole group is different.

Speaker 5 (02:19):
Man.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
I'm proud of y'all. I think y'all.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Y'all, y'all got it man, and we here to learn
about this new is it seventeen cities? We got to
sit the city tour well, Tommy Troit I take over,
all right, But listen, man, y'all beach Moode. Y'all know
I hadn't seen y'all and came out and opened up
for y'all. When y'all came down here and did uh

(02:43):
house the Blue House of Blues, House of Blues, House
of Blues. So y'all kicking off tomorrow in Detroit. I
know y'all had excited to get back on stage. What
can they expect from eighty five South, Well.

Speaker 6 (02:56):
You know, they always expected the experience they've never seen before.
But we always know that we're bringing out a crowd
that rock with us, and we're bringing our new individuals
who ain't never saw this show before us. And to
be honest, we're so anxry to get together to see
what we all been thinking while we ain't being with
each other, because people think we be with each other
every day we go home hellally like bro, we're going

(03:21):
on right then.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
For sure. And these are these are places that we've been,
you know.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
So it's always great to be able to see just
how the crowd has evolved with us, you know what
I'm saying. So being able to come on and go
places that we've been before and do a brand new show.
Every show is different, and come out and develop a
new experience with these you know, some of the.

Speaker 5 (03:45):
Same people, some new people.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
It's just overall just something that I think everybody should
want to be a part of at least once or
twice or three times.

Speaker 5 (03:53):
Have many times we come see.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Hey man, the eighty five South audience, What what do
you all see when you stay on stage?

Speaker 2 (04:01):
What do you all see us?

Speaker 1 (04:02):
The makeup, the overall makeup of the eighty five South parties.

Speaker 6 (04:06):
It bears.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
It really varies on the city. Old people like people,
may people, Puerto Ricans.

Speaker 5 (04:13):
We so very diverse.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
That's why we're able to get off so much different
kind of material.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
It's so diverse.

Speaker 6 (04:21):
But I feel like everybody has got to come and ground,
you know what I'm saying. I think that kind of
like sums it up because if you even look at
the world today, we were going through so much with
everybody trying to say race this, raise that, and we
need this, they need that. This belong the hours. When
you come to eighty five South, well it's black on black.
But at the end of the day, we treat everybody

(04:43):
so equal that you ain't got no chill. But the
leeds like feeling love, Like even though we were talking
about you, you still look.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
What happened.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
Yeah, that's a perfect way they explained it. You know
what I mean. Nobody needs you know, feeling like Steve
was Filla listening to that song.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
Everybody up in here, that's not the way that That's
not the.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
Type of environment we breathe.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
We we people come and leave the interventions outside and
come in and have a great time, and.

Speaker 5 (05:13):
We have a great time, winnen.

Speaker 6 (05:14):
So it's you know, you need feeling full, you know,
like you had.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
An experience, and that's what we kind of people would always.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Experience.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
All right, man, let me ask you this right quick though,
because I watched so many clips of y'all. Is anything
off limits? I mean, if you come up from eighty
five South in a wheelchair, it's tag you it. You
come out there on them on them tripod crutches, you it?
You in an old white security guard? Is anything off?

(05:48):
Anybody elbows? Anybody ever got really really.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Mad, They get mad if we don't mess with him,
like that's the grand pot. We had a dude take
his leg off and give it to us on Stagel's

(06:15):
Let's take a break.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
That's how you that's how you stand the business. Right there. Hey, y'all, Hey,
we're gonna come right back.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
We got Keith Legs. Hey, we'll be back with more
eighty five South right after this.

Speaker 7 (06:30):

And we got through telling all that, Man, I didn't
know I was doing nothing for them. They started.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
I said, forth, hell, y'all talking about I was helping them?
I ain't even know. So let everybody know where y'all
gonna be, where y'all headed.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
We started off in Detroit, Yep, we're going right to Annapolis.
We got Philly, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Columbus, South Carolina, we
got Atlanta. We're gonna end off in Atlanta. The hell
of it were going around, man, we just called spinning
the block. So we're hitting all the places that we
hit before, you know, and going back and going love

(08:51):
man and the people that got us to be in
a position to be able to come through and do
the type of shows that we do.

size venues that you all started.

Speaker 4 (09:02):

the old bar to speak Easy, that's what we were doing.

Speaker 5 (09:11):
We was doing one of them joints from Love Jones.
Remember when they first got there. We was at the
Love Jones bark.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
That's what we all know.

Speaker 6 (09:21):
Man, give a dog, I know the carpet states.

Speaker 2 (09:26):

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Also, y'all partner with Kevin Hall's production company, right Heartbeat Production,
and y'all planning on do a movie.

Speaker 2 (09:35):
Tell us about that one.

Speaker 6 (09:37):
It's just one of those productions that you know what
I'm saying. We appreciate those g and art Beat even
you know what I'm saying, I want to partner, partner
with us and help us bring our vision of life,
you know what I mean. So, but for them to
even reach out and say, hey, man, we want to
work with y'all, it's just letting us know, like you
know what, it's time for us to elevate to the
next level. And I think this is a great partnership

(09:57):
because you know, o G, it's hard for anybody water
come partner with you. You bring your vision to life.
So just by the saying that they want to rock
with us.

Speaker 5 (10:06):

Speaker 7 (10:40):
You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
All right, everybody, we're back and our special guest this
morning is legendary trio eighty five South. And we've been
talking about this new deal they had with Kevin Hart
heart Productions.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Tommy, you were saying it was a movie deal. It's
Heartbeat Productions.

Speaker 1 (11:01):
Yeah, they got basically I got a movie deal or
development deal with with Kevin Hart, which is big, which
is real big because everybody don't get there. So I
was asking them to expound on it and tell us,
y'all got an idea of what the movie is.

Speaker 5 (11:12):
Yet are we're working on it. You know, we're working.

Speaker 6 (11:14):
We got we did got an idea. We just working
on you to come to theaters to see it.

Speaker 4 (11:19):
Yeah, exactly, in a position to be able to have
connections with guys that, you know, giants in the game,
you know, to see us and see the potential that
we have to be able to keep elevating ourselves. You know,
some people like to see you where they see you at.

Speaker 5 (11:35):
You know, people are okay with you.

Speaker 4 (11:37):
Getting to a certain level, but once you get to
that level, they're like, yeah, man, good to see y'all
to keep walking. But so for us, it's a it's
an opportunity for us to keep elevating, and once we
keep elevating, we can help others as well.

Speaker 5 (11:48):
You know, kind of like you know, paying it forward.
So that's the way we're seeing it.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
We're trying to put the best product out that's possible,
so people can know that, you know, it's not just
something that we're doing just to be going, and we're
trying to elevate comedy and elevating along lay as well.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Let me let me ask one more question. Okay, you know,
y'all know I've been doing comedy forever. Junior, you know
you know Uncle is the O g at this. But
y'all doing something different than we ain't never done. When
did y'all know that this can work with three people
on stage?

Speaker 4 (12:17):
Did?

Speaker 2 (12:18):
When did it click saying we got something this will work?

Speaker 5 (12:21):
That clicked before we even hit the stage together.

Speaker 4 (12:24):
It was the chemistry in the studio before we even
get the live shows.

Speaker 1 (12:27):
Hey man, but you know what it is for me
when I watch y'all, I didn't know it could be done.
The part that amazes me is you all have such
a chemistry that it looks like it was playing.

Speaker 5 (12:41):
Man.

Speaker 2 (12:41):
Y'all break out in an improv song and all.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Of a sudden, y'all like, well, y'all do verses and
then he'll turn around and just spin on somebody. But
you all know how to let each other complete a sentence.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
You very rarey step on top of each other.

Speaker 1 (12:59):
That right there what really amazes me more than anything,
because the timing and then you all have the nerve
to actually throw the ali oop to the other one.
So they condunk it that right there that I ain't
seen that nowhere.

Speaker 5 (13:17):
You know.

Speaker 6 (13:17):
So we we fans each other work and it only
works in that form of fashion. Nobody in here have
the mindset or when we go on stage, I'm trying
to be the funniest to night.

Speaker 5 (13:29):
Well, I want the biggest joke.

Speaker 6 (13:30):
It been playing to night. Carlos had the biggest joke.
It been playing to night. Chico had the biggest joke.
It's all about it. We have fun, you see what
I'm saying. We want to go on stage and create
a moment for the people long as we having fun,
like we're really fans, or call those fans I'm listening. Listen,
I'm listening. If I'm saying some they listen. We're not

(13:53):
on that with egos, trying to figure out how can
we all individuals stand out? You feel what I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (13:59):
And we all all ready do individual shows.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
We got enough time for that.

Speaker 5 (14:02):
You know, we all are individuals in the media.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
Is on our own, So it would be selfish of
the brand that we've built come on stage and try
to be individuals on a stage that we built together.

Speaker 5 (14:14):
You know, that's backwards. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 4 (14:15):
We all understand that this is something that we couldn't
even have imagined to go on stage and never have
practiced and never have you know, said all right, look
tonight we're doing this and it just come out. We
know that this or this God.

Speaker 5 (14:28):
That's doing that.

Speaker 4 (14:29):
So we that's living on God's work. We're gonna let
God work through us.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Brothers.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
I'm gonna tell you something I think that says it all. Man,
all congratulations on everything. Man well said. Well put people
can now have a better understanding of how you all
came about and how you all function. The tour is
alive and well I'm sure if you are looking for
