Pastor TD Jakes is stepping down his lead pastor at
his Dallas megachurch, The Potter's House. Bishop td Jakes, who
founded the Potter's House in Dallas back in nineteen ninety six,
informed members this past Sunday that his daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts,
and his son in law to Ray Roberts, will assume
senior pastor Roles. Bishop released a statement that read is careful.

His statement read, in part quote, For nearly fifty years,
I've had the honor of connecting with and serving the
local and global community as a pastor, global faith leader,
and unwavering truth teller. As I enter my fiftieth year
in the public spotlight, I recognize the urgent need to
address more challenges of our time, particularly the looming threat

(00:50):
of a disappearing middle class, social unrest, and closing opportunity gaps.
Bishop Jakes added that he will not stop being a minister,
but it's time to allow the next generation to leave
the Potter's House in the future. Bishop Jakes did not
talk about the recent health scare he had back in
November in his statement.

So he's stepping down.

Fifty years, that's a long time doing anything. Everybody else retired.
