Wellington, Florida, woman that works out a veterinarian's office as
a receptionist was mistakenly overpaid get this guy's four hundred
thousand dollars over the course of a year. By the
time mistake was caught. Yeah, she had spent more than
half of the money on shopping, and she sent a
large amount of the money to her family back in Argentina.

She was arrested and charged with money laundering after she
reportedly confessed that she knew she was being overpaid, but
she didn't report it to her employer. She told Palm
Beach investigators that she thought she was receiving monthly bonuses
because she'd heard rumors that the previous receptionist used to
get bonuses her normal salary. Her normal salary is sixty

thousand dollars a year, okay, but she paid four hundred
thousand dollars a year. Four hundred thousand quiet though, Yeah,
that's what I want to ask you. What would you
have done? What would you have done if you were
overpaid like that? I to move back to Argentina.

checks was coming. But I'll tell you one thing though.

So so you got this extra money, you would let
anyone know. You wouldn't tell your employer, You wouldn't say anything.

I'm setting it up for the man.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
M't you pay taxes? Yeah, you wouldn't have saved it
just in case.

For work, though?

The only thing is gonna happen is my Spanish gonna
get very good cat.

Car the narrow all I dope, what money? What dollars?
What ca? That's a lot of money. That's a lot
of money, Steve, that's a good paper, right though.

I don't know. I don't know how you sent it

Last reception gone. What happened to him? Well, she just
had she just heard that she got a lot of bonuses.
You know, it didn't say what.

I just said, my boss send me the money because
he was trying to hit on me, and he was
trying to you.

Know, I like it when.

You get out, but I was he was just sending
me this money, trying to hope I would turn, but
I never turned.

The man's career, yeah, got we got to get this
and he's broke because he gave you all that money. Wow. Yeah,
Tommy would have gone back to Argentina, Junior would have
learned Spanish. Steve would have ruined the boss. Harassment. Whatever
