I said, since she's been on the show. But she's
a Grammy Award winning First Lady of Modern Gospel, best
selling author and actress. She's got a new album on

we could talk for an hour and just kick. It's just,
you know, it's family. It's that kind of thing. And

You know what I said, legendary gospel singer. But when
you do regularly tributs, you out, sang all R and
B singers to a whole trade award you one' hitting
them out. They be sitting there, they're looking shame.

Yes, well, thank you so much. I appreciate that. But
you know, as you get older and you growing wisdom
and knowledge and all of that stuff, and you see
folks who are younger than you that are not here anymore,
you get a little grateful, you know.

Amen, Yes, well true, I'm mad album and you name
the album Sunny Days. The new single is called Church Doors.

Church Doors is a single that's written by mister Donald
Lawrence and Stir the Baptist. And you know how we
believe We know that church doors can be different things
to different people. Sometimes the church door is this big cathedral,
sometimes it's a one room church. But wherever the church is,
and we know we are the church, we can open

tell them how good God's been.

This this morning is our family member, the legendary first
lady of modern gospel, the one and only Yolanda Adams
Church Doors. It's a new single and we just played it. Man,
this girl right here. Man, but you know this is
this is gospel music, you know. You know sometimes man,
like I tell I tell people all the time, you know,

like I love music, right, but what I want to
hear gospel music.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
I want. I want to hear something I want to
hear some day.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
You know, I don't want a club cut.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
I'm in trouble. You already know that I stay in trouble. Now.
What I need I need?

I need something like that, you know, a real gospel
song to make you feel something?

What? What was the inspiration behind the song you learned?

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Well, you know, we live in a society and a
world right now where everybody is so tense and they're
on edge, and you know, they don't know what to
say politically, they don't know what to say socially. And
I just told Donald and uh, Sir the Baptist, that
I wanted to make a song that was so obvious

(08:06):
about our testimony and what God has brought us out
of and what God keeps us from and how we
you know, as the Body of Christ, we are actually
the Church ourselves. And so it's not just physical church doors,
because church doors can mean anything to everybody, you know,

(08:27):
you know, like you're overseas and church doors mean something
different to you and your morning meditation where it'll mean
something different to me. But we all have you know,
symbolically the opportunity to open our church doors, which is
our mouths, and testify to the goodness of God. And
that's what I wanted. I wanted to start off strong

(08:49):
with that because the project has so many amazing singles
on it. I have to be true to my roots,
true to my faith. And you know, when you start testifying,
just like you know, as those of us who you know,
all of us have been in church, God is good
all the time. You know that call and response kind

(09:11):
of thing. So when you start testifying about the goodness
of God, it just it just catches on and then
you know, the fire goes all around and then you
feel better than when you came in.
