Speaker 1 (00:00):
Before we get out of here, Junior, you had a

(00:01):
question for Steve.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Yeah, yeah, Well, how you define happiness right now? At
your age? What's the happiness for you? Now? Wow, it's
a good question. Wow, that's a really good question. I
don't yeah, because you know, man, I don't really I
don't even know that I'm seeking happiness. You know, I'm

(00:25):
happy in my marriage. I'm happy that I found the
right person that I can live my life with. And
even when we have challenges, man, we know how to
work through them now. We've learned so much about that.
So I'm happy that I finally found the right person.
As far as what makes me happy, it's the simplest

(00:47):
things that will bring me. But I don't know if
I'm actually trying to be happy more than I am
for joy, because I've stopped trying to have fun because
fun is manufactured to me to go do something to
have fun. To have joy is an internal peace and
internal relaxation and internalized thought of tranquility. So I seek

(01:14):
joy more than I do happiness, because happiness is fleeting,
you know, happy, happy, happy. You see somebody smiling, laughing, happy, happy, happy,
that's fleeting. So I don't even know that I seek
happiness anymore, I think more and so for me, Junior,
it would be joy. Try to I like that inner peace.
I like when things are going along even And you

(01:38):
know what's crazy, man, since I've started thinking this way,
what's actually happened is even when things are going wrong,
because I pray a different way, I ask God for
his presence to be close to me. You know, I'm
a believer in the Holy Trinity, right, I believe in
the Holy Spirit. I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe

(01:58):
in God Almighty. And so when I asked the Holy
Spirit to be with me today, to reside in me,
and I open up my heart to that. And I'm
a follower of the teachings of Christ, and I know
there's a God. Then what I've done is I open
up myself to his presence, which is peace. His presence

(02:19):
is peace, so even when things are going wrong, he
covers me with his peace. I give you a prime example.
I have a person that works for me who loves
to bring me bad news, thinking they're telling me something
to make me work. And she came to me and
she said, mister Harvey, have you seen this about you?
On the Internet, and I said no. She said it's bad,

(02:40):
It is really bad, and I just stopped her. I said, okay,
just send it to my lawyer. She said, you don't
want to see it now. I don't have to if
I hadn't seen it now and it hasn't been bad
for me. Now, why would I put that in my spirit?
Why would I do that. It's a whole lot of
stuff out there about me that's not true. But you know,

(03:02):
being having this relationship with God, he covers me. He
protects me in a peace where it has no effect
on me. And what I try to get other people
to understand is you have to understand what that Internet is.
It finally has given a voice to people who don't
really need a voice, and people who don't even have

(03:23):
should have a say. So in your life. Stop giving
permission to people to affect your day who you don't
even like or know. Stop letting people do that to you.
What them trollers are saying about me, what them haters
is out there saying about me, It doesn't matter. Man.

(03:44):
God has covered me, fully covered and protected me. I
don't have to go on this radio show or online
to come back. None of that, None of it. Man,
It took me a minute to get like this. But
because of my relationship with God and this ever presence
peace that He provides for me. Do you know, man,

(04:05):
that that can be. It's like sitting in the eye
of a hurricane or a tornado. It can be swirling
all around you, but if you stay right in the center,
you ain't even affected by it. So it's not happiness
that I seek. Now. Do I get to have some
happy moments? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, But I'm seeking joy.

(04:25):
I'm seeking peace in my life and for one of
the first time, for extended periods, even when things are
going wrong, I have a uncommon peace because I've been
afforded his uncommon grace and favor. What God has done
for me, man, is unbelievable. And the more I stop

(04:49):
and realize what God has done for me, and the
more gratitude I show for that, the more relaxed I got.
Because if He's done this for me, the but he
wakes me up continually, which is a sign that he
ain't through with you yet, then, oh my God, what

(05:11):
else does he have in store for you? Have y'all
ever thought about that? Think about what you used to
be what you used to have, and think about all
that you have now and who you are today. And
God was there the whole time with you, and he
waking you up. And you finna get some mo what man,
that ought to make everybody feel better? You ought to

(05:33):
feel better? And look, man, some I learned something else too.
Comparison is the greatest thief of joy. Comparison is the
greatest thief of joy. You will lose all your joy
of who you have, who you are, and what you
have if you constantly comparing yourself to somebody else. Get

(05:55):
off line, looking at all in fake lies. Show some
gratitude for one God has given to you. Man, it
would make your day go a whole lot better. Gratit.
A comparison is the greatest thief of joy. I make
no comparisons. My life with Tyler Perry, my life with Denzel,
my life with Samuel, my life with will Smith, my

(06:17):
life with I don't care. I don't care what they have. Man,
It's all good, y'all, good brothers. Congratulations. I'm grateful for
the life you have gave me. And if they look
at us, it's pretty good. Have yourself a great thing,
Show some gratitude. Talk to God today. He would absolutely
love to hear Frederick.

Boysober

Have you ever wondered what life might be like if you stopped worrying about being wanted, and focused on understanding what you actually want? That was the question Hope Woodard asked herself after a string of situationships inspired her to take a break from sex and dating. She went "boysober," a personal concept that sparked a global movement among women looking to prioritize themselves over men. Now, Hope is looking to expand the ways we explore our relationship to relationships. Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.
