Speaker 1 (00:00):
My partner, Dion Sanders, made the announcement a day or
so ago about his developing bladder cancer, and he came
forward to talk about it, and it was a forty
two minute press conference, and he spent a lot of
time elaborating about it, and he even joked about it,

(00:22):
and he got emotional for him when he was talking
about how good God really is.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
You know.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
He told me he was gonna make this announcement because
I had been checking on him, man, because I just
didn't know what was wrong. I just I had seen
some different things and I just finally got hold of
him and he had new number and everything, and so
I finally got hold of him and I said, hey, man,
what's going on? He said, I'm gonna tell you, man,
but I'm gonna make announcement on Monday. And he told
me the situation everything, and we were talking about it

(00:53):
and before we hung up, I told him, I said, hey, man,
you understand why. He said, yeah, I do. He said
had to be me. I said, yeah, it had to
be you because you're the chosen one. You're the one
that God knows he can put this on, allow this

(01:14):
to happen to and when you come out on the
other side.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
You're gonna give God the glory.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Also told him of the millions of lives he would
affect when he came out with this story, because the
one thing that rang true throughout this whole thing was
he was imploring men to get tested. He said, especially
black men, because we don't like nothing to do with doctors.
But then he say, my white brothers, y'all got to
go to my Latino brothers, my Asian brothers, young and

(01:43):
women too, but you gotta go get checked. But especially men,
because men won't go to the doctor unless our wife
make us go. And sometimes that's the case. Man, Sometimes
you just need that woman in your back to make
you go to this doctor. Because we're so good that
I'm good. Ain't nothing wrong. I'm handling it. But no, man,

(02:04):
we gotta start watching our health. Man, we got to
pay attention to it our time. Look, I'm sixty eight
years old. I know for a fact that I've lived
longer than I got left.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
And I'm so grateful.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
For life now every day because I'm in the bonus round. Man,
I just heard about this Ryan Sandberg, this base a
baseball player that just died in his sixties and then
something Malcolm Jamal Warner died in his fifties. Then Ozzie
died right behind that, and then another one, and I'm

(02:42):
just going, wow, man, it's everywhere, and you have to
realize how blessed you are if you still here. But
since you here, there are some things you need to do.
Like I was watching this thing on YouTube with Bishop T. D.
Jake's the other day greatest preacher of all time. This

(03:03):
dude right here is my God.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
And.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
He was talking about the road to success is bumpy.
He said that he knows a lot of people who's
done way better than him in his life, financially, monetarily,
all types of stuff. He says, You know a lot
of people are more wealthy everything he say, but everybody
I know. The thing that all of them have in
common is that their road to get to where they're

(03:29):
going was bumpy. It was bumpy, and that's the way
success is. It requires the bumps and bruises of life
to get there. But I've also learned so many things
about it, man, how you got to handle it and
how you got to understand it, and when bad things

(03:49):
happen to you, you have to underthink, understand that these
bad things that's happening to you are valuable lessons in
life that you will need because when you get to
the next level and it happens to you again, you'll
know how to handle it and you can smooth through
it a little bit better. The first time you face
a major problem, it's major. The second time you see

(04:11):
that major problem, it ain't gonna be major. That's why
you have to handle and cope with the bad times
in your life, because if you look back on your life,
you've gotten through and beyond and over every bad situation
that ever happened to you. And if you haven't gotten
it over currently, he's pulling you through it right now.

(04:34):
Think about that for a minute. So once you have
that in your hip pocket, once you have that bullet
in your chamber, the next time you run into a hardship,
a hard time, a difficult moment, you got that that
you can reflect on and say, hey, I've been here before,
I've seen this. God got me, and it gives you

(04:54):
an uncommon type of peace realizing that.

Speaker 2 (04:59):
So I'm going back to Dion.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
Now, Dion, this happened to Dion, and he got real
bumpy for him because let me tell you something. I
don't care how much money you got, I don't care
how famous you are. When your health is at risk,
all your focus go to there. It ain't bout your
money no more. It ain't about your career. You get
real focused on your health. Man, Dad right there gets

(05:21):
your undivided attention. But God puts it on certain people
because he know they can handle it. It's been on Tommy.
Something happened to nephew Tommy his cancer deal. But he
put it on him and he came through it because
he knew with this microphone that he would be a
living witness, that he would be a living, walking, breathing

(05:43):
testimony to tell you of how good God really is
and the power of prayer, that prayer, pray can be cancer.
Pray can be cancer as time, pratt can be cancer

(06:03):
as dion. See, y'all, that's you gotta understand how this works.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Man. So I know I was kind of all over
the place, but I think I.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
Said what I need to say. Hope y'all got something
from it. If y'all didn't get nothing from it, tune
in tomorrow, God willing, we'll have something that you can
