Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, guys, here we are our last break of
the day, our last break of the week on this Friday,
and Steve, before we get to your closing, Um, we
want to send condolences once again to the family of
David Arnold. In case you don't know who David Arnold is.
He was a stand up comedian. He was currently touring

(00:22):
in his Pace Yourself comedy tour. He and our girl
Kim Whitley have toured together recently and he said, She said,
and Battle of the sexist comedy tours. David passed away
on Wednesday. He was fifty four years old. A lot
of comedians knew him. You knew him, Steed, you know
him him. You know, I didn't know him personally, you know,

(00:46):
we had no ties, but man, is dude was funny
and I always like watched his clips and stuff like that.
I saw his last comedy special. Incredibly funny. Man. He
was just getting his dues. Um. Really sad man. He
is a great father. A lot of material about being
a dad, a husband, and it's just really sad man.

(01:10):
You never know, man, it's that's young. Fifty four is
young man. Yeah, and you know it kind of makes
us all realize how blessed and fortunate we are to
still be here. I was listening to Guy Tory's reflection
of all his brother who he knew quite well. So
for me, I didn't know him well at all, but

(01:31):
that that comedian fraternity is a small one and it's
a hard one too, because it's really really hard to
be a comedian. It's a really, really tough profession. But
did this this wife lost, his children lost. That's a
tough one, man, that's really tough. Our condolences go out.

(01:53):
Did you know him Junior? Yeah, Man, I would work
with him a couple of times. Man. He's great writer, man,
incredible writer. He wrote for a lot of shows on Nickelodeon. Man,
he was he just a conversation about how he felt
about comedy. Was just all passion, love of brother. Man.
He was very very funny. Man that if you didn't
get a chance, watch that Netflix special. It ain't it

(02:15):
ain't for the week. It's just pure genius comedy. Wise man.
So we condose us to his family absolutely. Man, so sad,
very sad. Yeah, heartbreaking, heartbreaking Yeah yeah, okay, life all right, Steve.
I know this is a hard transition, but well, I mean,

(02:38):
you know, it's it's a part of life. You know,
we were talking earlier about changing directions, and um, this
has nothing to do with David Arnold. So I don't
want anybody to try to think I'm trying to two together.
I was choosing to speak on the subject of changing directions.
You know, sometimes as human beings having the power of choice.

(03:07):
I don't know if you've done this before, but have
you ever made the wrong choice? I'm not saying you have,
but I'm saying, if you're listening to me, you've probably
made a bad choice before. I mean, we've been making
bad choices since we were born. I mean, who ain't.

(03:30):
But when you make a bad choice, sometimes it's better
to admit that you've made a bad choice and just
I'm no longer gonna go down this path. It's okay.
Stop looking at how much time you've been on the path,
how much you've invested in the path, what people think

(03:54):
about you on the path. If you're on a bad path, man,
you're just on a bad path. It's okay to change
your mind. It's all right, It's okay. Look, man, some
people stay in situations far too long. I know I
have I've stayed in a bad situation far too long,

(04:19):
and it's when I knew good and well this was
not working for me, and I stayed anyway. Now, I
have no one to blame but myself for that. The
other person didn't make me stay. It wasn't the other
person's fault that I made the choice. This was me.

(04:39):
I made a decision. Well, when you make these decisions, folks,
it's okay to change your mind. Now. My father used
to say all the time, don't get stuck on stupid boy.
Once you determine it's stupid, you can stop. Don't get
stuck on that because it's a mistake. You raid. Everybody

(05:01):
makes them. It's okay to go in another direction, and
it's okay. Look, man, I'm all about being right or die,
but I'm I'm gonna be ride or die with somebody
that's ride to die with me. If you ain't ride
or die with me. How you want me to be
right or die with you? You want me to be

(05:23):
loyal to you, but you're loyal to me is gone.
So I just say to people all the time, don't
be afraid to change your mind, don't be afraid to
get off the bad path. It's okay. There's no law
that says you have to ride it out. Now. If

(05:44):
you said some vows, okay, I got that, you probably
have a different obligation. But at one point in time
you got to remember too that the other person says
so too. Man, you're not gonna keep yours. You please

(06:04):
need to stop looking over here at me, because I'm
gonna make the same decision you make. It. It's just
the way it is. It's called life. Ask God for
forgiveness and get on about your business. But don't stay
on the bad pad. And you know it's leading you
to know that. Ask God. Hey, that's it, y'all. Talk

(06:27):
to God to day, y'all. He'd love to hear from
you all for all. Steve Harvey contests no purchase necessary,
