Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, guys, here we are, last break of the day.
It's been a good day, it's been a fun day.
Welcome back, Steve. You know we missed you time fishing
and such. What you got for us to close us out?

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Well, you know, listen.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Just as a reminder to everybody who is on the journey,
who is trying to accomplish their dreams, goals and aspirations,
I want to fully remind you of something and I
want you to just understand that that is a part
of it. Prepare yourself to be uncomfortable. Just make ready

(00:47):
because getting what you want out of life, expecting to
accomplish what you want to accomplish in life, it's hard.
It's hard, and it is uncomfortable. So just prepare yourself
to be uncomfortable. I've known this about my life. Everything

(01:08):
I've ever wanted in my life was on the other
side of uncomfortable, and you got to go through it
to get to it. You have got to go through
it to get to it. Ain't nothing free.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Out here, y'all.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
You already know it ain't no free lunch. And anytime
you see the word free, understand something. Now, there's gonna
be some type of cost factor. I remember back in
the day when they had free food in the hood.
They had free peanut butter, and they had free eggs,
free milk, and free cheese. Do you know how long

(01:47):
that line was? Do you know how much time you
had to spend in the coal standing in that line
to get them free eggs, that free peanut butter, that
free milk, and then free and that free cheese. So
it wasn't free because it cost you. Your time. Time
is everything, man, Time is of the essence. The two

(02:08):
most valuable things in your life is your health and
your time, because if you out of either one of those,
you're in a world of trouble. And so you know,
you just listen, prepare yourself to be ready for it

(02:28):
to be challenging and difficult. I have mastered the art
of being uncomfortable.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Now.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I don't like it, but I know it's part of
the process. I was talking to an old friend of
mine one day and we were sitting there talking about
the good old days, and we was laughing about a
bunch of stuff. And my boy said to me, hey 'all,
why you always take the hard road? Man? He said, Man,

(02:59):
I've known instead about you man, ever since we was
in college. Why you always take the hard road? Why
you don't ever take the easy road? I say, hey, man,
let me ask you something. What makes you think I
see two roads? Cause I don't. I just see that
away right there. I see that a way right there.

(03:21):
That's the way, he said. But it's always the hard way. Well, see,
it ain't nothing on the easy road. First of all,
it's crowded a lot of people on the easy road,
and that easy road don't usually lead to nothing.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Ain't no reward on it.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Ricky Minor, the great band director, he had a book
out with the best title I've ever heard. He said,
ain't no traffic on the extra mile. If you are
willing to go the extra mile, ain't no traffic wide open.
You can get out there and do donuts in your car.
You can speed. They ain't got no speed traps. Ain't
nobody out there. You can driving whatever lane you want to.

(04:02):
I have just never picked the easy road. I don't
see it. I don't even see the easy road. I
see the hard road only because I know in order
to get to it, I'm gonna have to go through it.
That everything I've ever wanted in my life has been
on the other side of comfortable. Quit trying to pick

(04:23):
the easy road. Quick money, quick man, You know what,
quick money gonna get you in some trouble.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
That's what it's gonna do. Fast money. Keep on it.
Don't work.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
That ain't had a workman, It's not set up that way. Now,
I'm not saying you can never hit something and it
make you some money quickly.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Well, but let me see you do it again.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
See you can't look up and hit it one time
and expect that to be the process. Pardon you just
can't keep lucking up. Now You're gonna have to develop
a discipline and a skill set at something so that
your success can be repetitive. And if you want to
be repetitive, you gotta get disciplined. And you got to
be willing to go through it to get to it.

(05:09):
It's hard. You have got to be willing to be uncomfortable.
But it's okay. When you get through it and you
get to it and you finally get it, it's going
to be worth it. But then, guess what, you got
to put that vests on in that helmet and get
ready to get uncomfortable again because you gonna want some
more and you have to want more.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Don't sit up in your life and get content.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Now.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
I didn't say don't get up in your life and
don't become grateful. I said don't get in your life
and get content, because if you try to rest on
your laurels and just sit on what you have, you
ain't gonna have it long. The Bible says a man
without a dream or vision shall perish. You got to
keep dreaming. You got to keep having visions. Don't sit
up there and put no timetable on God and put

(05:57):
no limits on God. When I don't retire, for me
to do no more, Yeah, it is something for you
to do some more. You just quit wanting more. You
thought because you got the retirement that was it. Now man,
it's some more to it. You're still living. You gotta
still be dreaming. Got still have visions. Prepare yourself to

(06:18):
be uncomfortable, everybody, because everything you want is on the
other side of uncomfortable.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Y'all. Have y'allself a great day to day.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
And the most important thing I can leave you with
is don't forget to talk to God today. He would
absolutely love to hear from for all.
