Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, guys, here we are last break of the
day on this Thanksgiving week, and Junior, you had a
question for Steve. I think you wanted to finish what
you started this morning.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Yeah, this morning when we were talking about what is
God teaching you in this season of your life?
Speaker 3 (00:15):
You know, right now, what are you're learning?
Speaker 2 (00:19):
It's funny because it's the same thing he been trying
to teach me in every season of my life. It's
just been a hard lesson to learn.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
I think.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
It's been really coming. It's finally sinking in, you know
what I mean. And it's a dog gone shame though, man,
that it takes so long for some valuable information to
sink in. That's the thing about experience. The experience is priceless.
(00:52):
It's a shame you have to pay for it with
your youth.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Man.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
If I could have just known this a long time ago.
And here's what he's teaching me. He's teaching me that
it's just him. It's just him that you are to
really just count on him.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
You should trust some people, you should count on some people,
but none too much. And I've done that in my life.
I've counted on some people too much.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
You know, man.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
There's a poem in the poem that I memorized a
long time ago. It's a poem called if by Rudyard Kipling,
and it says if all men't count with you, but
none too much. That's a very telling line in that
poem because it's saying that you should be kind to people,
(01:51):
you should be considered of people, you should have relationships
with people, and they should count with you. Push it
count with you, but none too much. Don't put all
your faith in a person, man, because they're human beings,
and humans are subject to flaw.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
I don't care who they are.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
The single best human being I ever met in my
life was Ill loss Vie Harvey, my mama. But even
in that, my mother was human. My mother gave me
some bad advice one time, and I followed it because
she told me to. She didn't mean no harm. She
(02:36):
was just a human. But you know what I'm learning
in this season, it's just God.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Man.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Put all your faith in. Trust in God.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
He is the one consistent factor in your life that
you can count all.
Speaker 3 (02:55):
No matter what you've.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Gotten yourself in, you can actually go to Him with anything. Now, Okay,
I know you married to this person. You say you
could talk to them about anything. Ah, No, you can't.
Now you can't.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Oh you can't. Can't just take anything in there, now, careful.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
You got to weigh it out because they gonna have
a different reaction than the one you can even imagine.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
So you can't.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
I know it's beautiful to say that I can talk
to my wife about anything, I can talk to my
husband about anything. No, you can't. You can't, especially if
you've made a mistake. You can't take every mistake you
make in that. But you could take it all to God.
You could take every last one of them to him,
place it at his feet. He saw you anyway, He
(03:43):
know your flaws. He loves you anyway, and he's going
to forgive you. Every person not gonna forgive you, man,
every person just not. That's what I'm learning. That is
really just God. It is really just God. And now
here's the second part to knowing it's just God.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
You gotta trust completely in his timing.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Man asking God for something and believing and trusting any
but then waiting on it for his timing. Oh man,
that's that's Those are the two things I've been focusing
on most of late.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
It's just God. Man.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
God is the only one I can tell it all too.
I'm talking about all of it, the good, the bad,
the ugly.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
You can tell it all to God. Now.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
I've had some good partners, man, I've had some good
dudes in my life. Two of my best friends have passed,
and man, I could tell them cats, anything, anything, but
they wasn't God.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
Though.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
As good as dudes as they was, they wasn't God.
They ain't always have an answer. They was with me though.
Oh man, that's crazy, Steve. So what else happened though?
And then I tell him the rest of it?
Speaker 3 (05:06):
God?
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Hang in there, Man, hang in there. That what you got,
because that's all they have for me. Hey, hang in there, God.
When I go to God with something detrimental, God not
only gives me the strift of hang in.
Speaker 3 (05:22):
There, he provides a solution.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
And then He gives me what I need most grace
and mercy. Lord, have mercy so I can get them
go again. Y'all better, y'all better talk to God. You
better have a relationship with God.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Man, and quit playing with this thing.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Man.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Life is too short.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
Sitting up in here man and trusting his time is
Steve Harvey, I got what you want. But man, was
something happened in my life, man, where this company didn't
do what they said they was gonna do, and they're
supposed to take this. I'm so happy it didn't work
out that way. Man, I was looking my man, they
(06:03):
didn't do what they said they were gonna do. A
month later I discovered, Man, I'm so glad they didn't
do that. God has covered me, man, through it all.
He's done the same thing for you. Quit looking at
everything that don't go down the way you want to,
and then get mad because it don't go down. You
ever figured out why it didn't go down? Do you
don't know how many times God has protected you from yourself,
(06:24):
from your ignorant decisions. Man, I'm all right now. I'm
alright now because I done gave it all to God.
I don't even worry it no more like I used to. Man. Here,
God God got it. I count on that. Y'all have
a conversation with God today, Okay. He would love to
hear from you, y'all. Stay in peace.
