Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, guys, here we are last break of the day.
Before we get to your closing seed, we got to
congratulate our big station, one of seven five WBLS in
the New York tri state area. We got to say
congratulations to WBLS for being the number one most listened
to R and B station in New York, not just
(00:22):
New York, the nation and globally the world. Okay, they're
the number one R and B station in the world.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
I love that, love you.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
WBLS is the first station that came to me with
the concept of doing syndicated radio. The Sudden family approached
me about it. I had just left radio in Los
Angeles and I was told that you will never be
in radio again. You'll never be nothing, but God will
(00:58):
prepare us a table in the presence of dying. And
I watched him do it, and I thank God for
w b LS one on seven five heritage station. Some
great some great people have been up there, Von Harper,
Frankie Hi Crocker, Frankie Crocker.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Man, I'm talking about straight legends up there in New York.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Yeah, just some great people, man. Yeah, and shut.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Us and Tripp, I'm talking about a legend in the
news game up there. One of the most pleasant people
I've ever been around in radio. They had a beautiful
staff up there when I was when we was working
up there everything, and so congratulations to w BLS man,
and thank y'all for believing the division. In two thousand
(01:50):
and five, I was told because we started with New York, Shreveport,
is it, Truck Detroit and Sean Tuscaloos. Wow, that was
the four that was And they told us, they said,
Steve Harvey, in three years, if you have twenty five cities,
(02:12):
we will consider this a success.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
In three years we said, sixty markets. Man, you understand.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
It all jumped off in the city man, New York
City Man. W b LS, why would have the world
guest set? I used to guest set up there. That's
what got them started. And I was sitting in for
some morning drive people and it said w b LS
were black like Steve. They made the Monica station with
they fell in love with it. We've been going strong
(02:44):
every since. So congratulations at w b LS. What you
got you Yeah, I want to ask you something, man,
Can you just talk to us about the importance of
a constant relationship with God?
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Versus every nine. And then, well, let me say this.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
You are continually dealing with life, and life continually keeps
on lifing. See, life don't stop. Life just keeps on lifing.
And when I say that, I mean that life just
keeps on doing the eving flows that life has and
last comes. Life comes with ups and downs, It comes
(03:26):
with peaks and valleys, It comes with pleasant weather, It
comes with storms, It comes with tsunamis, it comes with
green pastures, It comes with it all. It comes from
the joy of birth, It comes from the loss of bereavement,
of grief, it comes with everything. It does this to
(03:46):
all of us on a continuous basis. So if life
just keeps on lifing and life continually keeps coming at you,
why would you not continually have a relationship with God.
See here's what I had to learn, and this is
the lesson that I had to learn for myself. Quit
(04:08):
calling on God when you're in trouble, if you ain't
gonna call on him, if you ain't gonna call on
him when he's going right. Man, it's just a horrible
way to use your relationship with God. It would be
so much better if you didn't constantly have to reintroduce
(04:28):
yourself to God. Hey, God, I know it's been a while.
I ain't talk to you in a while, but I'm
going through some trouble right now. And God, being the
forgiving God that he is, he hears you anyway. But
suppose though you had an ongoing relationship with him, suppose
you thanked him when it was going right. But what
(04:52):
if you thanked him in the middle of when it
was in a storm in your life. What if you
thanked him for just strengthening you to weather the storm.
What about if you thanked him realizing that you're gonna
get through this, just like you've gotten through everything else.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Why would you not remember.
Speaker 3 (05:09):
That this too shall pass, as has everything else that
has happened. If you can be grateful in the midst
of a storm, that's the beginning of a great relationship.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Because guess what, even the.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
Storm gonna pass, It don't rain always. Even in the rainforest,
it don't rain all the time. Every now and then
on the desert, something will happen other than that heat.
Every now and then, man summer turns to fall, fall
(05:42):
turns to winter, but winter turns to spring. Because life
just keeps on. Life if I were you, I would
form a continual relationship. I don't want to introduce myself
to God every time something go wrong. Now I got
to go in there all sheepish and everything. Oh man,
when I go to God, I can go to God
with my head up because guess what He been with
(06:05):
me through it, all the good, the bad, the ugly,
and I appreciate Him for that. So yeah, get yourself
a continued relationship, and you ain't got to go to
church to get it. You can start right here, right
now today by talking to God. Have a conversation with
God today. He would absolutely love to hear from you,
(06:28):
and then ask His Holy Spirit to stay with you
and talk to you of often, ask him to audio steps.
You'd be amazed. What can happen if you let God
audience steps. Y'all have a great day to day. Steve
Harvey Voyde Show.
