Speaker 1 (00:14):
Your letter live on the air, just like we're going
to read this one right here, right now.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
It could be yours. You never know.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Bugle up and hold on tight. We got it for
you here. It is the Strawberry Letter.
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Subject he tells his mama everything. Dear Stephen Shirley, I'm
a twenty eight year old woman that just e loped
with the love of my life. We dated for seven
years and we did not want to waste money on
a big wedding, so we eloped and had a nice ceremony.
I also wanted to elope so my husband's mom wouldn't
be all in the mix trying to tell us what
(00:46):
to do. She's the reason that I've waited so long
to get married. She's a meddler and a gossiper, and
it's not really her fault because my husband tells her
everything I do. It's been going on since we started
dating seven years ago, and we fight about his mother
all the time back when we first had sex, he
told his mother and she told my mother. My mother
(01:08):
was hurt. My husband and I broke up twice before
we got married because his mom said I was two
into sex after he told her that my sex drive
is very high. The second time we broke up, he
told his mother that I was considering dyeing my hair blonde,
and his mother called me and said, that's not a
classy color for black girl. I started making up stuff
(01:30):
just so, just to see how much of a mama's
boy he was being, and he fell right.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Into the trap.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
I told him I was behind in my student loan payments,
and he told his mama. She called me and asked
if I was having money problems and suggested that I
get a second job so I could pay my bills.
I'd had enough, and I decided to fight fire with fire.
I told his mom that he's experiencing ed so we
(01:57):
have not had sex in over three weeks. His mama
called him and he was fuming mad at me and
said I shouldn't have told his mama his business. Oh really,
he has avoided me the past few days, but we
need to have a discussion about his mama and her
never ending mess. How do I get him to stop
telling his mama everything? Please help? I think you asked
(02:21):
a little late for all of this. You're married now,
His mama is his mama, and she's been allowed to
be all up in the mix for seven years. Okay,
she's not going to change that. This is a monster
your mama's boy husband created and there are no boundaries
with him or her.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
I mean, you.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Saw that seven years ago. He tells her everything and
then she goes and runs her mouth.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
I mean, honestly, I'm really surprised that you married into this.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
You said you waited to marry him for seven years
because of his mama and her mouth. But she's still
doing it. So what was a seven year wait for?
Speaker 2 (02:59):
She has not change.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
You could have married him seven years ago and gotten
the same thing, the same, very same thing as you
got now. The only time you break up now, think
about this. You said that in a letter you broke
up twice. The only time you broke up was because
of his mom getting into his business. I'm still trying
to figure out why you thought it would be different
now because he put a ring on it.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
No, this situation is stupid.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
He I just think he is and always will be
a mama's boy who hasn't learned to put his wife first.
And that's the problem. And Mom is just doing mom,
She's just doing her. This marriage is not gonna last
unless you and your husband present some sort of united
front to his mother so she'll know that she needs
(03:47):
to butt out of your marriage, plain and simple, Steve.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Everything Shirley said is true. It's not a lot I
can add to this, but you know, but you know
because I like see, I like little bitty stuff. The
fact that you, Elope says it all right there. And
(04:14):
the reason you Elope is because his mother is messy
and you ain't want up in your business. Now you
obviously love this dude because y'all have been dating seven years.
But you Elope, you had a nice little ceremony. Now
she's a meddler Gospel. But it's not her fault because
my husband tells her everything. See, this whole letter really
(04:36):
has nothing to do with her. This letter is about
you the writer and your husband, the mama's boy, because
that's all he is. He's a mama's boy. Now, at
the end of your letter, you say, how do I
(04:56):
get him to stop.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
Telling his mama everything. It's gonna be hard.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
It's really really going to be hard because he's a
mama's boy and he's been one for at least you
say you're twenty eight. Let's just say y'all the same age.
He's twenty eight and y'all been together seven years. He's
been a mama's boy for about twenty eight years.
Speaker 3 (05:25):
The whole time.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
So it's hard to disengage or get a person to
resind all these thoughts he's been having for twenty eight years.
He's a mama's boy. Let me just go through a
couple of things right here. Y'all fight about his mama
all the time because he defends her because he's a
(05:47):
mama's boy.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
So then he told you he told his mother that when.
Speaker 4 (05:54):
Y'all finally has sex, who do that? Me and my
mom have never buff discussed six.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
Ever.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
We didn't have the birds and the bees conversation. But
Daddy came and gave that to me. It was short,
it was to the point, and it was not clinical.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I would love to have heard that.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
I can't repeat nothing he told me, but you can't.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
I believe it.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
That was my sex education talk with my daddy ruler
threw me into something.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
How old were you.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
About twelve thirteen?
Speaker 2 (06:36):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (06:37):
All right, you know back then that was that was
plenty time.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Yeah, hold that thought, Steve.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
We'll have part two of your response coming up at
twenty three minutes after the hour. Today's Strawberry Letter. He
tells his mama everything. We'll get back into it right
after this. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show.

All right, come on, Steve with a threecap Today's Strawberry
Letter subject, he tells his mama everything.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
What's your problem? You to marry the mama's boy?
Speaker 4 (07:42):
Now you waited seven years to man because his mama's
always met and so y'all eloped so she wouldn't be
up in your business. She had a nice little ceremony,
but your husband tells her stuff.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
All the time, and all y'all do is fight about her.
Speaker 4 (07:55):
Back when y'all first had sex, he told his mother, Mama,
got on the phone, call your mama.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
Your mother was hurt.
Speaker 4 (08:06):
Y'all broke up twice before y'all got married because his
mama said I was too into sex after he told
her my sex drive is hot. What boy goes in
there talking to his mama about his girlfriend a sex drive?
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Right? I don't know anyone right.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
So right there, lady, what are we talking about? The
second time we broke up, he told his mother that
I was considering dying my hair blonde, and his mama
called me and said, that's not a classy colored for
a black girl.
Speaker 3 (08:43):
I haven seen some li chis with some black girls
with rich blonde.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Boy hell, Carla has blonde in her hair.
Speaker 4 (08:51):
Come perfect, and it's always how, it's always willed.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
That's one thing about the ladies on this show. Carl
and Shirley. They have gonna be writing always.
Speaker 4 (09:07):
But she didn't want you to die your hair black,
So then you started making up stuff to see how
much of her mama's bought it. He fell into the trap.
He'd have told everything I was behind. That was my
student loan papers. He told his mama. She called me
and asked I was having money problems and suggest that
I get a second job cause the show can't count
(09:29):
on my baby nothing because he my baby. Not gonna
have this boy working those two jobs. And he be
tied then, so then you decided to fight fire with fire.
He told his mother that he's experiencing easy. So we
ain't had sex.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
In over three weeks.
Speaker 4 (09:51):
His mama called him and he was fuming mad at
me and said I shouldn't have told his mama his business.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Well, ain't that stupid? Yeah, you tell all of hers
com on. He avoided me the past few days.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
But we need to have a discussion about his mama
and this never ended mess.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
How do I get him to stop telling it? You can't.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
He's a mama's boy and he's been there for twenty
eight years. And I want you to understand it's not her,
it's him. You're married to a mama boy.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
Period.
Speaker 4 (10:23):
I don't know how to stop these mama boys, because
I've seen some bad cases of that.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
What's the worst.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
Well, I had to do one time. He was real
close to his mother. You know, we understood that because
his father had died. You know, we grew up together.
But he just everything My mama said, I'm gonna tell
my mama. He don't because you know on our street,
the lady down the street could give you a whooping too.
Speaker 2 (10:50):
Oh yeah, yeah. It takes a village.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
Yeah, oh, and our village all savages.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
I'de got beat by all my friends.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
Mama.
Speaker 4 (11:04):
Yeah, but just let him right here. It's just a
real case. Shirley said it best. This is a mama's boy.
He's not going to check. I can't help you. You
married a mama's boy. All I can help you with
is relationship problems with me?
Speaker 2 (11:22):
Did she wait for seven years to get the same thing? Though?
Speaker 4 (11:26):
Why don't you do this, lady, because you may be
able to get out this marriage. Why don't you check
his driver's license and get a copy his berthon to me?
Because you might be he might be fourteen, he's a boy.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
You can get out your marriage.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
Why would he tell his mother that.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
She got a high sex dride.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Tell your mama dad about you.
Speaker 1 (11:52):

Speaker 2 (11:57):
Don't ain't you.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Got to go to work? Why she screwing all evening?
I'm gonna call her. Listen, la critie, this.
Speaker 2 (12:11):

Speaker 4 (12:15):

Speaker 4 (12:36):

act like he was talking about you.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Well, wait a minute now, miss Dorothy, that's our business.
Why did he tell you that? Did you ask him what?
Speaker 4 (12:48):
