right now, and you never know, it could be yours.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
It could be yours. Buckle up and hold on tight.
We got it for you here. It is Strawberry Letter.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Thank you nephew. Subject his father has to keep it down.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Dear Stephen Shirley, I'm married to a man that can't
tell his family no about anything. I met him twenty
two years ago at his daddy's shoe shop, and we dated,
fell in love, and got married. I'm forever grateful to
his dad because he paid my tuition for my senior
year of college after my family faced a financial crisis.
My dad did pay him back over time, and he
(00:53):
will forever be one of my favorite people. But I
want him out of my house. He's seventy two years
old and he's on his second wife. He cheated on
her in March. He was relieved that he got caught
so he could leave the woman. That's when he asked
me and my husband if he could live with us
for a while. I said no, and I told him
(01:13):
to work things out with his wife. My husband overruled me,
and he reminded me how his dad helped me out
years ago in college.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
So his dad moved in.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
We have a split level house and at the front door,
you go upstairs for the main part of the house,
and you go downstairs and there's a bonus room, a bathroom,
and a sauna that my husband got me for Christmas.
His daddy is on the bottom floor on our sleeper
sofa and he's been living down there since June, doing
whatever he wants to do with his girlfriend, Miss Beverly.
(01:45):
I have caught them naked in my sauna, and I've
walked in on them down there having sex on the couch.
Miss Beverly likes to cook for him in my kitchen,
and I have to say and I have no say
so in it. The worst part is all the begging
and screaming that Miss Beverly does all hours of the night.
There isn't a door separating the floor, so we hear
(02:07):
them having sex constantly. How do I get my husband
to see that it's time for Papa and Miss Beverly
to get their own place. Wow, Papa is living his
best life. He's seventy two years old with no responsibilities
except to himself to have a good time. But it
sounds like his lady friend, Miss Beverly, is having the
(02:29):
most fun of all.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
And I could see how this is on your last nerve.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Yes, his dad paid her tuition your last year of college,
and yes that was cool and very generous of him.
But Papa has truly worn out his welcome using your
home as his personal motel room. You and your husband
are not on the same page about this. You already
said your husband can't say no to his family about anything.
You're not in the same page. You guys aren't united.
(02:55):
His dad knows that, and that's why he's taking advantage
of the situation. Long is he supposed to hold this
loan thing over your head? I mean, your dad paid
him back. Eventually, It's time for you to step up
as a woman of the house and talk to your
husband about making arrangements for Papa and Miss Beverly to
either quiet it down downstairs or.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Find themselfs a love nest someplace else. That's it, Steve,
he ain't I go here?
Speaker 4 (03:23):
You go?
Speaker 3 (03:25):
All right, let's go here we go. Let me tell
you what's really happening here.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
You you've been married to a man that can't tell
his family. No. You met him twenty two years ago
at his daddy's shoe shop. That's critical information. His daddy's
shoe shop. Started dating, y'all gotting married. Now, you said,
I'll be grateful to his dad because he paid my
tuition for my senior year of college after my family
(03:53):
faced the find out your crisis.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
You said, I'll forever be grateful.
Speaker 4 (04:00):
Then you said, my dad did pay him back over time. Now,
let me tell you something. This man must have been
doing good with this shoe shop because he's paying for
his own son's college education. Then stepped in and paid
George too. Now your daddy did pay him out. And
then here's where the the lie. Here's where the letter
just turns into one big old line. He will forever
(04:23):
be one of my favorite people. The line I wrote
right after that is no he won't. He will forever
be one of my favorite people.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
My next line I wrote was no he won't.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
Because your next line was, but I want him out
of my house.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
See how that work right there?
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Now?
Speaker 4 (04:50):
Just one line prior he was he will forever be
one of my favorite people. Then you say, but I
want him out of my house. You don't put favorite
people out at your house. You know why my sons
don't live with me no more because they stopped being
one of my favorite people.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:08):
See, once you stop being one of my favorite people,
you got to get out. So when you say he
will forever be one of my favorite people, no he won't.
If you're not married, you can be married to a
person and that person can stop being your favorite person
and you want them to move.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Stop lying out.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
Here, people, I will forever be one of my favorite people.
Speaker 3 (05:34):
Nobody ain't.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
Nobody feet to be one of your favorite people all
the time, except your MoMA. My mama was my only
favorite person all the time. She was one of my
favorite people all the time. Other than that. Now all
the other favorite people they come to go. Now you
(05:57):
want to put the man out the house. He's seventy
two years old. He on his second wife. That ain't nothing.
He cheated on her and mand and people's relieved, and
he got caught.
Speaker 3 (06:08):
So he could lead a woman. Yep, it happens.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
But let's just move on to right head. Yeah it happened.
You know, Oh you don't think it happened. You know
how many favorite people you left? Think about it?
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Y'all?
Speaker 4 (06:23):
Who in here ain't had a favorite person that stopped
being their favorite person?
Speaker 3 (06:28):
Hello?
Speaker 2 (06:29):
Quickly a list of.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
I got that thought. One hundred favorite people that I
don't talk too longmore.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
We'll have part two of Steve's response coming up at
twenty three minutes after the hour. Today's Strawberry letter. Subject
his father has to keep it down. We'll get into it,
get back into it right after this.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
You're listening hard morning show.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
All right, Come on, Steve, let's recap today's strawberry letter.
This object is his father has to keep it down?
Speaker 3 (07:03):
All right.
Speaker 4 (07:04):
This lady tone let her father in law move into
the house as a kind of a repayment. You know,
he helped her out in college when it's her family
fell in hard times, and so her husband's dad stepped
in and owns a shoe shop paid her tuition. Well,
he got a divorce, he cheated on his wife. He
was relieved to lead a woman anyway, and so now
(07:26):
he needs a place to stay. She said he will
forever be one of her favorite people, and then right
after that, she said, but I want him out of
my house. I knew exactly where you at, ma'am. A
lot of favorite people I wanted out of my house before.
They weren't my favorite people at one point in time,
but the moment they stopped being a favorite person of mine. Please,
(07:47):
your ask gots to move children included anyway I see
out there. Yeah, just just children included. He as, could
he move move into the house? I said no, I
told him to work things out with his wife. Now,
I don't know how you think. What do you think
he got caught cheating, Now you want him to work
(08:09):
it out with his wife.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Maybe the wife don't want it worked out. You ever
thought of that? So now he come to you.
Speaker 4 (08:15):
Your husband overruled you, and he reminded you of how
his dad helped you out when you were in college.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
So his dad moved in.
Speaker 4 (08:24):
Y'all got a two level house and downstairs as a
bonus room, got a bathroom in it, and a sona
that your husband got you for Miss Christen. His daddy
that moved in down Now he's staying on the sleeper
sofa and he been living down there since June. That's
a lot of muss now doing whatever he wants to
(08:46):
do with his old ass girlfriend, Miss Beverley Beverly. And
you know they're old because nobody name they baby Beverly,
no more.
Speaker 3 (08:58):
Old ass miss Beverly.
Speaker 4 (09:01):
I have caught them naked in my suna, just sitting
up in there, just naked. And then the worst part
of it is, oh, and then you know you call
him in that neked You done walked in on them
having sex on the couch, Well where you want to
have sex, because sometimes you don't have time. He sleep
(09:24):
on sleep of sofa and if he ain't let it
out into the sleeper yet, well what.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
Else is he got used sofa?
Speaker 4 (09:32):
Because now you got this, you in the passion of
the moment, you ain't got time, let this damn bed out,
put your sheets on there and make it all up.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
The mood could be.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Gone because every time he gotta go to bed, he
gotta let this damn sleep for so far.
Speaker 3 (09:45):
You're got hardier when you nked.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
If younked, you are you excited and you gotta let
this damn sleeper so far?
Speaker 3 (09:54):
That is wrong of you to want them to go
through all that.
Speaker 4 (09:56):
Well, it's not the couch, it's his bed, and you
need to start knocking. Your ass is just walking in
here like you fired. Well, quit walking down in there
looking at him, neked in the sauna. You got the
ass to come down there. Now, that's his room. Your
sauna is down there in his room and him and
(10:19):
Miss Beverley is sitting up in the ass naked.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Sweating.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
All these different body parsing fluids in your sunna. The
worst part is all the big and screaming that Miss
