Strawberry Letter.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
All right, Thank you, nephew.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Subject she slapped my husband. Dear Stephen Shirley. My husband
and I love to hang out after football games. We
are Clemson fans and my husband played football, so we
were all into the games. We met a group of
friends at our favorite bar and two of my single
girlfriends came. They're not into football, but they thought some
(00:50):
single men might be out.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
We were sitting back.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
And chilling and one of my friends joined us. She
went to the bar to order her own food and drink,
even though we had a waiter that checked on us.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
My husband was joki joky with her, but I could see.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
That she had a bad vibe from the time she
walked in. She was on her phone, texting a whole lot.
At the same time, my husband seemed distracted and he checked.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
His phone a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
I am watching them the whole time because something was
not right. If she texted, he looked at his phone.
Then she got up to go sit at the bar,
and it was packed by then, so I could not
really see what was what she was doing. My husband
went to the bathroom and stopped by the.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Bar to talk to her.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
He showed her his phone and she showed him hers.
Then she put her finger in his face and lightly
slapped him. I walked over to them, and he looked
like a deer in headlights. He said he wanted to
know why she was being antisocial and sitting at the bar.
So I asked him why he cared. She echoed, saying yeah,
(02:01):
why do you care? He swears it was nothing at all,
and that I did not see her slap him. Why
would my friend invite this woman to join us, join
us if something is up with her and my husband.
I want to ask about this woman, but I don't
want to seem pressed.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
What should I do?
Speaker 1 (02:19):
You got to ask, what do you mean you don't
want to see pressed? This is your husband you saw
this woman slap him. You have every right to ask
and find out what's going on. I'm just surprised by
this because where and when could this ever happen. You
see a woman slap your husband and nothing there certainly
seems to be.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Something going on. I mean, you know you peeped it.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
With all the texting back and forth and all of that.
You know, you know when someone around you gets the
text from someone else because they're looking. You know, you
see someone texting, You know how this stuff goes. They
were very familiar. You know what you saw with your
own eyes. This woman had a lot of nerve to
slap him in front of you, and she did it
in front of everyone. I'm sure she definitely knew what
(03:03):
she was doing and that you were there with him,
which is why this all happened. Anyway, I say, believe
what you saw in spite of what your husband said.
He said you didn't see her slap him, and believe
everything your intuition is telling you. You said you knew
something was off, you knew something wasn't right. You know,
(03:24):
this is just crazy, because no woman is just gonna
slap someone randomly. You know, if there's not anything going
on between him. He said something crazy, she was mad
because you were there.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
All of that.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Your friend is wrong for inviting the woman. Your husband
is wrong and stupid for stopping to talk to her
in the first place. And the woman doesn't give a
darn about your marriage or you being there. Your husband
is the one you should be talking to about this though,
he you know, maybe even slap him again, you know,
(03:56):
since he didn't. He said, you didn't see her slap
him the first time. It's okay for you to be pressed.
Speak up for yourself, all right, Steve.
Speaker 3 (04:05):
Well, surely my answer is going to surprise you.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
And yeah, because I usually try to help some guys out.
The name of the letter, though, is she slapped my husband.
I'm gonna do something I hardly ever do. I'm gonna
start at the bottom. He swears it was nothing at all,
that I did not see her slap him. Why wouldn't
(04:33):
my friend invite this woman to join us if something.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
Was up with her and my husband?
Speaker 4 (04:39):
I just want to ask about this woman, but I don't.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Want to seem pressed. What should I do?
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Well, I sul't want to know who the woman is
that wrote this letter, because you're amazing. I've never had
one of you. This is great. You watch the woman
slap your husband and you don't want to seem pressed.
(05:09):
Oh my god. And then he told you you didn't really.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
See her slap.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
That was the move right there.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
And you want to know why your friend invited this
woman to join us. If something were up with her
and my husband. Your friend may not know anything about it.
She just invited the woman. But nah, let's go back
now and read this letter. Y'all go to the y'all
(05:42):
Clemson fans. Y'all went to the game. So the single
women came. They ain't like football, but they thought some
single guys would be there. You chilling, and one of
your friends joined us. So then she went to the
bar to order her own food and drinks, even though
(06:02):
we had a waiter that checked on us.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
My husband was joking, joking with her.
Speaker 4 (06:06):
But I could see that she had a bad vibe
from the time she walked in. She was on her phone,
texting a whole lot. At the same time, my husband
seemed distracted and he.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
Checked his phone a lot.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
I'm watching them the whole time because something was not right.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
Normally, I would try to help this guy.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
With some lies. Steve his ninety way, he should it?
Hang on, Hang on.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
We'll have part two of Steve's response coming up at
twenty three minutes after the hour. Today's Strawberry Letter, subject
she slept my husband?
Speaker 2 (06:47):

They all go to the bar. A couple of girlfriends came,
but they don't like football, but they figured some single
guys would be there. Then another one of your friends came.
According to you, she was one of your friends came
and had a bad vibe, and she would to the
(08:00):
bar or to her food. But y'all had a waiter
that was checking on y'all every She was on her phone,
texting a lot, and at the same time, my husband
seemed distracted, and he checked.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
His phone a lot. So now they texting each other.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
I'm watching them the whole time because something was not right,
she texts.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
He looked at his phone. Oh lord.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
Then she got up and set at the bar, and
it was packed, so you couldn't really see what was
going on. Your husband went to the bathroom, stopped by
the bar to talk to her.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
He showed her his phone, she showed him hers.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
Then she put her finger in his face and lightly
slapped him.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
I walked over to them. He looked like a dead headlight.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
He said he wanted to know why she was being
anti socialist sitting at the bar.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
So I asked him why. He cand now here's a
part of the whole letter.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
She echoed me, saying, yeah, why do you care?
Speaker 3 (09:09):
Now right here?
Speaker 4 (09:11):
Who are you asking my husband any questions?
Speaker 3 (09:17):
But when I walked over there. The fact that you
had slapped him changes.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Ie relationship from now on, because wait a minute, why
did you slap my husband? Now your husband trying to
get out of it. No, baby, she didn't slap me.
What you're talking about?
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Why merry him?
Speaker 4 (09:40):
You should have asked her why did you slap my husband?
Because she answered all the other questions.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
See that old? That old? And yeah, why do you care? Yeah?
Why do you care? Oh?
Speaker 4 (09:53):
She answering questions. Well, then you should have asked her,
why did you slap my husband?
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (10:00):
And then it was soon as she gave you her
her answer, why you ain't slap her?
Speaker 2 (10:08):
I don't get it.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
I don't understand this at all. See, and then you
you're something. You're the little off You said, why would
my free and invite this woman to join us? If
something is up with her and my husband? Your friend
that invited her to join and may not know nothing
about this? Right? Everybody and the dog didn't nobody know
(10:30):
about this? I want to ask about this woman, but
I don't want to seem pressed, so you're gonna let
it go.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Who are you?
Speaker 3 (10:39):
Oh this is do you have a sister? Are you available?
Speaker 4 (10:47):
After this, do you have friends that's available, because I
got partners that want to meet this type of woman.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
I don't even understand how you let the woman slap
your husband and you ain't had no words for her.
He lied, so he did the best lie. Why does
she slap you? She ain't slap me.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
And you just saw her do it?
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Crazy?
Speaker 2 (11:14):
What sap?
Speaker 4 (11:16):
Why was you showing her your phone? I ain't showing
up my phone. She showed you her phone. If you
really wanted to see it, get crazy in there. If
you could have snatched his phone, that would have did it.
But then I know you ain't gonna snatch his phone
because you don't want to press.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Where is this woman?
Speaker 4 (11:43):
Act that don't want to be pressed? This ladder don't
make no sense? Latery, I don't know what should I do?
Speaker 3 (11:58):
Well? For starters? Let me tell you what the average
woman won't do. This is far from over. M Who
is he and what is a he? To you?
Speaker 4 (12:12):
On?
Speaker 3 (12:13):
Boy? That was this way? Song? Go boom boom?
Speaker 2 (12:20):
He always does that?
Speaker 4 (12:22):
You know a man we passed and just try to
stem me down.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
That garment? Who is he? And what is a he
to you? Who?
Speaker 4 (12:39):
Now you did. There's a female version today. Ah, woman,
we passed. Jay is trying to stare me down. Boom boom.
And when I looked at you.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
You looked at half the ground. Yeah you did.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
I don't know who she is, but I think that
you do. Ye that gumt?
Speaker 3 (13:11):
Who is she? And what is a she to you?
Speaker 4 (13:17):
Who?
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Ah?
Speaker 4 (13:20):
Now that's that's the old Bell Withers song that I
wanted to give to you. And that's what you should do.
But if you don't feel like being pressed, let it go.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
Okay, she shouldn't have even used that word pressure.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
That's not the words, all right.
