Nephew's subject Why is his stuff at his sister's house?
Dear Stephen Shirley, My husband has a twin sister, and
they're like frick and freck. I get along with her
most of the time, but she's quick to jump on
her brother's side when he and I disagree about stuff.
I've told her that he might be your twin brother,
but he is my husband and the father of my kids,
(00:47):
so that trumps everything. She is one of those girls
that doesn't like to hang around other females, and she'd
rather have male friends. Because of that, she's single and miserable.
I dreaded the day that she moved back to our
city and bought a house. My husband was at her
house for a straight week to unpack her and move
furniture around. It didn't bother me that he helped his
(01:08):
sister get settled because his twin is his best friend.
What bothers me is that my husband has stuff at
his twin sister's house. He has clothes and shoes in
her guest room and she said he brought the TV.
He bought the TV that's in the room so he
can chill in there when he comes over. His sister
was giving me a tour of her house, and when
(01:28):
we got to the guest room, she said, this is
Jay's room. My husband tensed up and looked at me.
I was looking at the box of baseball caps that
belonged to him, and the two T shirts folded on
the dresser.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
They were his shirts.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
I couldn't help but ask if he was moving in
and my husband started laughing nervously. He has a TV
and his clothes. Oh, and I saw a pair of
sneakers and slippers in the room too. I didn't know
my husband was hanging out at his sister's house like that.
I haven't said a word about it because his told
me on purpose to cause friction between us. How do
(02:03):
I ask my husband what's he up to? And why
is he over there so much?
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (02:08):
How do you ask your husband what he's up to?
You just ask him? All right, you gotta address this.
This is a big gray elephant in the room, and
you gotta do it today. I mean, it's silly to
keep avoiding this. He is your husband. Ask him, all right,
why are you over there so much? Then tell him
to get his stuff from over there because he doesn't
(02:28):
live there. Tell him you don't mind him visiting his twin,
but he's doing too much.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
He really is.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
Tell him that his twin knew exactly what she was
doing when she said this is Jay's room. She knew
it would upset me. She knew it would upset you,
And you're right. She is trying to cause friction between
you two. That's why your husband was acting nervous and
laughing nervously when she was showing you around. He knows
this isn't right. He's too comfortable over there. He already
(02:56):
has a house. Okay, tell him it bothers you and
how it makes you. Field you are his wife, he
should want to make sure you're good at all times.
You know the same unhappy wife, unhappy life. You know
that thing, Tommy, Let's.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
Go all right.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
I think you in a louse situation. The wife is in.
I think you in just a no win situation. This
is this is you are supposed to be your husband's
best friend.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
You are and that's not the case.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
He got a twin sister, he and he is by none,
he is the best friend.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
They ride or die.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
Evidently you like you already stated they freaking fracked. They
are who they are together and that they got a bond.
And we already know most twins have a bond that's unseparable,
and they are that.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
So now where do you fall in this? Now?
Speaker 4 (03:47):
Your brother then move Once a man got a TV
somewhere and some slippers.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
It's a rap.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
He has decided to set up shop. They roommates over
that and set up shop at his sister house. So
that is his He now has his own man cave
at his sister's house, and that's where he likes to be.
I'm not understanding why you can't say the question was,
how do I ask my hood what the hell?
Speaker 3 (04:16):
What is all that?
Speaker 4 (04:17):
How do I ask him something ain't that your husband
you ask my wife show asked me anything under the
sun that she want to know. So I don't understand
why you can't say, hey, we gotta have a conversation.
What's going on here with you and your sister? To
the point where you you got all your stuff over there?
Once you see slippers, a TV and you should have
pulled up, you should have opened up some of these dresses.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Is it some drawers over there?
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Once a man got some draws somewhere, that's where he stays.
Speaker 3 (04:44):
Okay, that's his other spot.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
So I really think that you guys need to have
a sit down conversation and and discuss what it is.
What are your boundaries? Do you not want this? What's
bothering you? Are you bothered? Because there's clothing, shoes and
all this over there apparently is bothering you, And it
would bother me too if my spouse set up shop
somewhere else. I got an issue with that, but I
(05:08):
got but I ain't got no problem saying hey, why
the hell you got all your stuff over there? It
makes me think that my man is at the point
of are you fin the move out on me? Are
you you know? It just feels weird. It just feels
but that is your sister. He loves his sister. But
I will agree with you on this. The sister's messy
as hell. Yes, she's messy as all get out and
(05:29):
everybody knows it. And basically she's gonna at some point
your your relationship in the turn that's already turning.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
I don't think your husband ready to love.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
I don't you don't think so? Yeah, all right.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
And your sister in law ain't ready to Your sister
in law ain't ready to sister in law even.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Like sheven like women, she doesn't even have like a girlfriend.
She said, she likes only men in her life. You know,
she doesn't even know what that sisterhood bond is all about, apparently.
But anyway, all right, Junior, you got something for us?
I know you do.
Speaker 5 (06:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (06:07):
Well, see, I don't see how this is difficult because
what Tommy said is absolutely true. How do you ask
your hook? You ask this man why is he moving
your stuff in? But there's a flip side to the coin.
He's moving stuff in his sister's house. Were gonna start
moving stuff in somewhere else too, Okay, all right, so
(06:27):
flipped See we look everybody for the half clothes everywhere,
and my job is if you got it in one place,
I'm gonna have it in two.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Okay, all right, hold it right there, jor hold it
right there.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
We'll have part.
Speaker 1 (06:38):

Speaker 1 (07:31):
All right, guys, it is time to recap today's strawberry letter.
The subject is his stuff? Why is his stuff at
his sister's house? Okay, this woman wrote in her husband
has a twin sister. They're really, really close. They're like
freaking fracks, she says. She says, she gets along with
her sister most of the time, but the sister, the
twin sister, is quick to jump on her twin brother's
(07:54):
side if they disagree about anything.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
The husband and wife, and she.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
Said, and the wife said that she's told her that
he might be her twin brother, but he is her
husband and the father of her children, so that trumps everything.
But it seems like that's not getting through to the
twin sister because she keeps, you know, doing these little
digs and trying to separate them.
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Now, she bought a house. She bought a house, and
her brother moved in.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
Her twin brother has pretty much moved in. He's got
clothes over there, he bought a TV. The guest room
is now his. The twin sister was showing the wife
around and she said, that's Jay's the husband.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
That's his room.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
So the wife is feeling like, you know, why are
you putting your clothes in this in your twin sister's house.
Why are you moving in? What is going on over here?
You bought a TV, you're chilling, you got slippers over here?
What is going on? So the sister's like, well, yeah,
you know, the twin sisters trying to divide them. She
sees she sees it. She's trying to cause tension between them.
(08:58):
So the wife wants to know Junior. Why is he
over there so much? And how does she ask her
husband what he's up to?
Speaker 6 (09:06):
Yea, you ask him, but since you having a problem,
ask him. So he's moving clothes in at his twin
sister's house. Okay, now you can do this. That's the
game we playing.
Speaker 5 (09:17):
Then let's play the game.
Speaker 6 (09:19):
I'm finna start moving clothes to some friends and sister's
siblings houses. Well, says you moved in one, I'm gonna
move stuff in two. See, my goal is to make
you be with me so much.
Speaker 5 (09:29):
We gonna be twin.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
You.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
You're not gonna even.
Speaker 6 (09:36):
Y'all, you and your sister just gonna be siblings. We
gonna be twins. That's the whole goal.
Speaker 5 (09:42):
You gonna have to be with me. You're gonna be
chasing me so much. You gonna be my twin because
there's no way for you to feel this way.
Speaker 6 (09:49):
And this is your husband, Like Tom says, you got
kids with this man, you are you are married to
this man.
Speaker 5 (09:55):
I know he loves his twin sister, but it seems
like you're you're trying to move on.
Speaker 6 (10:00):
Well, let me get to moving on too, when we're
gonna find out what kind of marriage we really have.
Speaker 5 (10:04):
You playing this type of game.
Speaker 6 (10:06):
Let my wife move all her stuff out, because tell
you one thing, a man can't stand not knowing where
his woman.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
Is after nine pm.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
Okay, all right, you got.
Speaker 5 (10:15):
To call me by nine you know where you're at or.
Speaker 6 (10:17):
What you're doing, because because I have a responsibility to
you in the same way I have a responsibility to
her to tell her where I'm at when what.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
I'm doing about nine pm, I'm gonna be out late.
Speaker 6 (10:28):
I can call and say that, but never can I
say I'm moving in at my sister's house with all
my stuff. I ain't coming on to night, right, you
ain't coming home tonight. But he's gonna be some unwatched children. Wow,
these kids go.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
Be growing up so fast. Let's you see your mama
by last time? I seen you three days ago.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Yeah, she ain't been here.
Speaker 1 (10:50):
Yeah, and she's not even saying that she doesn't mind
her husband chilling at its twin Sisters South. That's not
even a case. But you're moving stuff in, buying TV's,
buying furniture all that. No, No, you don't live there permanently. No,
that address is not in your driver's license.
Speaker 6 (11:06):
No, it's like Carlo, can you can you go Katas
go somewhere at his one suits high and just set
up shot.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
I wouldn't care. That's when you've been married.
Speaker 5 (11:20):
We've been married by twenty two years this year.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
I don't care.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
Go on, okay, Davy good, I can make this room
a closet.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
I don't believe that for a second.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
But my twelve thirty at night, Okay, now you're playing right,
here's no way.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
That's how she feels in her mind.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Can I bool?
Speaker 5 (11:44):
Can I bool this right?
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Where are you gonna.
Speaker 5 (11:46):
Get your stuff?
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Man? I've been trying to move to the guest room
for the last three years.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
An thank you, But no, I hear exactly what you
guys saying.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
But the is just pouring the twin.
Speaker 2 (12:01):
Poorn salt in the wound. She really is making the
wife jealous. Yeah, and there's.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
Always somebody who ain't got nobody. It's always somebody who got.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yet, this is Jay's room. Now, why would you say
that to his wife? Why would you say that? I
wouldn't mind my husband having a room at his twins house.
Speaker 3 (12:20):
I don't know that.
Speaker 5 (12:21):
Just wouldn't bother me like that. But it just depends
the sisters.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
Just yeah, she's calculating.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
You know, Yeah, you know what she's on. We can't
say it, but you know what she's on yet, and
maybe the wife can reverse it. Put her stuff at
her siblings house, like you said.
Speaker 3 (12:42):
Over there. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
The part that also got me was she didn't know
how to ask her husband.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
How do I ask my husband? Is what she said?
What he's up to? That part I didn't get. Yeah,
you know what wife?
Speaker 3 (12:58):
What wife says that?
Speaker 1 (12:59):
What?
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Wife? Don't you don't know how to talk to their health?
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (13:02):
Just go right on in there.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
What's happening?
Speaker 1 (13:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (13:04):
What are you doing with twin?
Speaker 3 (13:06):
What's going on?
Speaker 2 (13:07):
What is all of this?
Speaker 4 (13:08):
You know what Jackie would say to me, What the
hell is all your stuff doing over here?
Speaker 3 (13:11):
What is going on?
Speaker 6 (13:12):
What is? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (13:13):
You find so stuff and put.
Speaker 4 (13:14):
It in a bag and get it back to the house.
What is all your stuff going over here?
Speaker 2 (13:19):
Exactly?
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Guys?
Speaker 2 (13:20):
All right, thank you so much.
