Speaker 1 (00:01):
W r K O pins Boston's only nightly sports betting show,
The Gambler with Adam Kaufman.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
Now from nine till midnight.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
Your home to talk spreads, props, totals and more. Hey, Doc,
and what's the harm of bringing back a little info
in the future?
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Now, maybe we could replace a couple of baths. The
Gambler starts. Now, all I have to.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Do is bet on the winner and I'll never lose.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Kears Adam Kaufman, so Vanduel gave out as it does.
Speaker 4 (00:33):
What feels like every day an NBA boost, Dan Watkins
and it was It varies. Sometimes it's an SGP you
could put together has to have at least minus two
hundred odds. In the case of today, SGP had to
be at the very least even money. Now, again, the
way that I build is not uncommon, not unusual in
(01:03):
that it's unheard of, but it is a little unorthodox
what I tend to do. I've talked about it on
the show before, but just as a little refresher, if
you tune in for the first time, Hi, how are
you welcome to the show? I will put together sometimes
fifteen twenty legs of low leg alts and I know
it is not a plus evy thing to do, but
(01:27):
I promise you, because I'm not a fool, I would
tell anybody if you are gambling, if you are betting,
and Dan, I hope you do this. I guess we've
never really discussed it, but I do hope you do
it if anyone gambles in a more than recreational sense.
You know, if you're just like out of the bar
(01:47):
hanging out with buddies, you see a game on TV.
Oh it's fire Away. Let's throw a little something on it,
give us something to you know, root for while we're watching.
That's different. You are not the people I'm talking about.
The people I'm talking about are the people who gamble,
doesn't matter the amount, but most, if not every day,
and you are trying to make some money doing it
(02:09):
doesn't mean life changing money. Quit your job, go become
Scott Pritchard on with us last night, become a professional
gambler or anything like that. Which, by the way, a
buddy of mine texted me this morning, woke up to
this one. So we must have been listening to the
pod Bright and early fifty five to one EXACTA chiefs
Eagles fifty five? What do you suppose he put on that?
(02:30):
And I was like, guy, I'd love to know. Yeah,
he loved one in October, right, love to know. He's like,
how much do you think his straight plays are?
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Like?
Speaker 4 (02:37):
Do you probably put like five grand on that? That's
why you want Maybe I have no idea. I don't
know what these guys unit sizes are, but I trust
when they say they're they're betting big, They're betting big.
My point is, if you are someone that is trying
to turn a profit, however much of one gambling, it
is imperative that you keep a spreadsheet for yourself. Yeah,
(03:03):
doesn't mean in super super detail what I bet on
a given day. Now, if you want to do that,
there are plenty of people who do because they want
to know, all right, Like how am I at betting
NBA props versus NHL totals versus MLB spread like whatever
it may be? Like, that's fine, you want to track
all that be my guest. I am not quite that precise.
(03:26):
I let pickt do that. But what I do like
to do is just sort of monitor stylistically if I
am doing a certain type of bet am I just
lighting money on fire. For instance, if I am putting
these giant twenty leg builders together where inevitably something is
(03:49):
gonna screw you, Like I lost a giant like eight
to one, no sweat bet the other day. There's no
sweat bets on a harm no foul. But I lost
one of these the other day Dan because Julius Randall
in a revenge narrative. This was last Friday, a revenge
game going against the Knicks with no Karl Anthony Towns
on the other side. I just had him at ten points,
(04:09):
that's right. Couldn't get there. He finished at eight yep,
couldn't get there. And then a couple days later I
think it was I had another one of these massive things.
This wasn't This was like a three to one, but
I had enough money on it to make it massive
for me by my standards, not by Scott Richard standards,
but by my standards, and Karl Anthony Towns couldn't get
(04:32):
fifteen points. He finished at thirteen on like five of eighteen,
shooting some absurd, stupid number. So I go into this
knowing the odds are against me. If you're gonna put
a fifteen to twenty leg parlay together, even of low
level alts that a guy is you want to believe
(04:52):
in trends, he's had at least ten straight points and
in forty nine of fifty games, whatever the hell it
may be like, Sure it is not weird if a
guy is a crappy shooting night. But I have kept
track of these to know that, however stupid they may
sound to you out there listening, or even to Dan
across the way from me, I've turned a profit doing it.
(05:15):
Therefore I can justify continuing to do it. I've been
lately on the wrong side of variants. That's not been
much fun.
Speaker 5 (05:22):
But is that an NBA thing?
Speaker 4 (05:25):
Actually it's much worse in the NFL. Really, I've had
much more wrong side of variance situation in football. Like
I mentioned the other you know yesterday. I think I
brought it up when I needed Josh Allen to one
hundred and fifty passing and rushing yards combined to hit
a big part note, even as at one forty seven
in a game that he played the entire time and
(05:45):
they won, it was crazy. I would make that bet
one hundred times out of one hundred again, Sure, insane again,
wrong side of variants. I bring all of this up
because I didn't necessarily have to do that to myself tonight.
I looked at it and I said, Okay, I love
the Suns, That's why they're in my bank will repair.
(06:06):
I love the Celtics who play later on tonight against
the Clippers. They scare me, so I'm not gonna do it.
Wish I had, though, because everybody has been ruled out.
For Flippers, who is pre I'll give you that rundown
a little bit, but Harden Powell, Zu bots Kawhi done.
Like all these guys have been ruled out, but to them,
(06:28):
like like Bones Highland might be their best player tonight, seriously,
and Tatum and all these guys, at least less something
changes in the next hour they're playing, they're all in.
I wouldn't be surprised if Horford porzingis holiday two out
of three get ruled out, but it hasn't happened yet.
Speaker 5 (06:44):
With the game tomorrow, absolutely I would expect it, right,
I'd bet on it.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
And we might. But I wish I, like I could
have rather than going crazy with one of these giant builts,
I could have just done geez to get to even money.
I could have done Thunder massive favorites, like seventeen point favorites, Thunder,
money line. Everyone loved the Grizzlies today and they kind
(07:11):
of scare me out. They're up by thirty at the half. Yeah, Grizzlies, Thunder, Celtics,
Sons and like Durant to fifteen points. That probably would
have been even money. I could have just ridden the
money lines, man, But weird stuff happens, and I know
if one of those teams were to go down, I
(07:33):
would be so pissed at myself. But boy, this is
feeling like a chalk night in the NBA. In that regard,
it really is Suns. They're up by fourteen the end
of three. Just told you about the Grizzlies who are
throttling the Hornets right now, which makes me very nervous
because I've got LaMelo ballprops involved in my builder. We
(07:55):
have Mark Williams points, he's at nine, Okay, we need
him to keep going. He got off to a very
slow start, so that's good. He's picked up Thunder, who
are the biggest favorites on the board, are only up
by two at the break, and of course the Celtics,
they don't play until ten thirty, so a little over
an hour. That in mind as I talk Celtics' injury
report update, Holiday Horford porzingis all out there, you go,
(08:18):
no surprise there?
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (08:20):
I mean, if you're gonna put the G League Clippers
on the other side, you want the Celtics to take
you Seriously? No, they got it back to back, big time,
that big time Luke Cornett Night, Huh could be? Absolutely
could be. I mean, we look what advantage of the
late game. We're gonna dive into some props and all
that figure out how we want to bet this thing.
I have already tailing my guy Bubbs, who's been on
(08:43):
with us before, laddered up Bones Highland twenty and twenty
five points on FanDuel just because he's a he's a
flamethrower and he's gonna get minutes like who else is
playing for this team. Truly, Let's take a look right
now and we're gonna prop that guy. Our buddy Dug
from CBS Sports Line is going to join us coming
up in just a little bit. We'll talk through the
(09:04):
NBA the late games tonight, what we've seen so far today.
If he thinks some nuts for not just riding the
money lines. Here are the Clippers available players tonight, Dan
Kevin Porter Junior, Terrence Mann, Derek Jones Junior, a Mere
Coffee Mo, Bamba, Bones Island, and then a bunch of
dudes you've never heard of, Jordan Miller, Cam Christy, Trenton
(09:27):
Flowers who sounds like a football player, Kai Jones, Kobe Brown.
That is the Clippers available roster tonight. Yeah, which is
only marginally better than what the Nets rolled out tonight
against the Suns, because they rolled everybody out too.
Speaker 5 (09:42):
Yeah. The thing about the and the thing with the
Clippers too, it's like everybody's points prop is like right
around the same thing. I mean, everything just got taken down.
But for a while, it's like Coffee Man and Jones,
We're all like right around from ten and a half
to twelve and a half. So it's almost like, I
don't know, is this one of those nights where you
just take you just place the over on all three
of them and hope two of the three come in sure,
because they're just that low.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
Yeah, I mean, look, the Clippers are going to hang
around for a little bit. Oh well, we know how
the Celtics are in their big favorites. Yeah, they deal
with their food. YEP, that might be putting it kindly
dick around. They have not strung together back to back
wins in what we say last night, it's nine straight
games of alternating wins and losses. It was the first
(10:24):
two games of January.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
I was gonna get it for Christmas, but I would
maybe it's no.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
I think they had they closed out twenty twenty four
with a win. I think they won their first two
games to January. I think they had a three game
win streak right there. And the Wizards. Yeah, since then,
it's been you know, win loss, win, loss, win all
the way through. So tonight they are due for a loss.
But I'll tell you what it's not going to happen
or Rockets Timberwolves on that other road trip questions, would
(10:50):
you take the Celtics with the number or do you
think a backdoor cover is super live now knowing what
the rosters are going to be. So Celtics have ruled
out three of their top six players seven depending on
what I guess you think on Horford at this point
in time compared to someone like Prichard. But the Celtics
(11:11):
right now, well everything's locked up. I want to see
what the spread is going to be when this unlocks.
We have Celtics, Clippers, Warriors, Kings. Those are the evening games.
Golden State Sacramento starts in about a little less than
an hour. Then, like I said, Boston, LA about ninety
minutes from now. Here's the agenda. Tonight should be a
(11:33):
fun one. I'm looking forward to it. Prop Bet guy's
gonna hop on with us again coming up in a
little bit from sports Line. Maybe he has a favorite
play that he wants to give us. We can decide
whether or not we want to make it official, if
we want to build out just for giggles and other
show parlay. I don't know. Whatever we feel like doing.
It's up to dust. We make the rules around here.
We're going to be heavy, heavy football for sure. Karen
(11:55):
Garigain Mass Live is gonna come on. The Patriots have
their coordinators announced, Michel Josh McDaniels round three. He's the
offensive coordinator and uh Terrell Williams or Terrell Williams, I'm
not sure. I'm gonna say Terrell defensive coordinator comes over
from Detroit. He was not the DC there that was
(12:17):
Aaron Glenn, who is now the head coach of the
New York Jets. I'm coming home, coming home. So Williams,
who was a defensive line coach I think in Detroit.
He comes over now and he is the longtime rable guy.
And then one one guy sticking around, Jeremy Springer, special
(12:37):
teams coordinator.
Speaker 5 (12:38):
He's back, the man who made Brendan Schooler a pro bowler.
There you go, all pro or whatever it is that
means something. Yeah, Well, I mean this was the first
year out of everything that was so bad with the
Patriots this year, this was like the first time in
like three or four years that the special teams weren't
a complete disaster.
Speaker 4 (12:55):
True, So you get to keep your job, yeah, exactly basically.
And he's been around for bit so good on him.
So we'll do that. We will also start our deep
dive process tomorrow night. It'll be Bill's Chiefs lock in
for that tonight. Eagles commanders Jody McDonald WIP on Philadelphia,
(13:16):
Ethan keddo Monumental Sports Network on Washington. Like I said,
Karen Grigian on with Us to discuss the Pats. Jonathan
Davis Final Hour from Vison talking through some NHL. We
got a big slate puck Talk tomorrow, give you a
people's parlay for that. So we're gonna have a bevy
of guests, a lot of different things to explore. Dan
(13:36):
has mentioned wants to get into some potential NBA futures talk,
like the idea of that obviously. Yeah, and we'll just
continue to keep an eye on these games, maybe even
when the Celtics look for any in game betting opportunities
come halftime of that one or whatever it may be,
you know, as most obviously pregame, which we will discuss thoroughly.
(13:57):
So that is the agenda for tonight. But I'm just
I'm I'm gonna be so pissed if my big build
loses tonight because like I don't know, Lonzo Ball finished
with fourteen points or LaMelo Ball pardon me, or like
Jalen Green had nine points, Like there's it just feels
(14:17):
like there's going to be something when the money lines
would have been so easy tonight.
Speaker 5 (14:22):
Yeah, MGM actually gave out bonus bets for NBA SGPS today.
Really Yeah, I built went out and one of the
legs I have in it is Katie to get to
twenty five points. He's at twenty four right now in
the fourth quarter on the bench with Phoenix up fourteen.
Tend to go so need Brooklyn to you know, not
fully tank here.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
I would think he'll just get Katie.
Speaker 5 (14:41):
Back in, hit a free throw, then you can go
sit down. But Phoenix is an interesting team right now,
whether Harry as currently constituted or how they you know,
might look in days weeks.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
Right, I mean the hours. Jim Turvy talked about it
last night, disability of them going out and getting Jimmy
Butler who's now been suspended again.
Speaker 5 (15:05):
Because he was wearing while he was wearing Phoenix Suns
themed shoes last night, missed a team flight too. Right
on the court, he was wearing the Sun's colors on
his cleats, like basically notice cleats, a sneakers, perfect, just
full on advertising it.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
Celtics twelve and a half point favorites. So that is
your adjusted lines we were looking at last night. I
think it was nine to nine and a half.
Speaker 5 (15:25):
It was up to thirteen and a half before the
Celtics injury news, right, so those three guys are really
worth one point.
Speaker 4 (15:31):
We're bringing it back.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
If there are games to be played. There are bets
to be made.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
I'll bet you twenty bucks. I can get you gambled
before the end of the gym.
Speaker 6 (15:40):
Is no way to argub three to one ones from
five to one.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
Under what here, get ahead of line movement, find in
game value, and hear the latest insights from your favorite
industry experts.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
This is my gambling.
Speaker 7 (15:55):
If I win, we all win.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
Tell your smart speaker to play that Gambler with Adam
Koff on WRKO on iHeartRadio.
Speaker 8 (16:10):
Hour number two of The Gambler with Adam Kaffin here
on WRK oh thanks so much for hanging out.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
Of course, if you miss a moment of the show,
check out the podcast. The Gambler with ak is the
handle on the action app the podcast. Of course, we're
available wherever you get your podcasts our thanks to prop
Beck guy Doug who joined us earlier gave out a
people's parlay that we will be keeping a close eye
on tonight little SGP plus for those games between of
(16:39):
course Celtics Clippers and King's Warriors. Mark Williams sweat free
twenty seven points for the Hornets tonight needed him to sixteen,
so good on Turvy. I'm not going to hit a parlay,
not that one, but at least he brought his leg
home and hopefully you'll do the same with Stanford a
little bit later on. Unfortunately, I killed the people's parlay
(17:03):
the when we gave out last night, So best of
luck to the both of you, making a jerk of me.
Arkansas is down at the half this the Rob Donaldson
experiment play down by twelve to Georgia. So look, it's halftime.
Plenty of room obviously for things to turn there, and
we hope they do will monitor that. But the play
(17:24):
that we did just give out, we have Andrew Wiggins
over seventeen and a half points, that is Doug's leg.
Dan gave out Buddy Healed over seventeen and a half points,
rebounds assists. This thing has already climbed eighteen and a half,
nineteen and a half, twenty and a half, depending on
(17:46):
where you look. So good luck on DraftKings. When Dan
gave it out as Healed was announced as starter. Now
I gave you the Celtics to cover again, so many
absences on that Clippers side. The Celtics they're not fully
themselves either. No porzingis, no Horford, no holiday, but still
take that minus eleven and a half. I'm good with that.
(18:08):
I'm comfortable with that. So we're gonna roll with that
and hope that we get it. Obviously. That is the plan.
That's what we have coming up tonight. See if we
can make this nice, fun night. I know it's fun though.
When we get an opportunity to talk some football conference
championship games, championship Sunday on the way here, Chiefs, Bills,
(18:33):
deep dive into that tomorrow tonight, Eagles, Commanders and so
many so sure that Philadelphia is gonna win this game. Well,
you know what, a lot of people were pretty sure
that Detroit was gonna beat Washington. To watch out. What
was the stat we were reading earlier? Dan teams the
(18:54):
week after they have faced Detroit this season two and fifteen.
Straight up up, that is bad news for Dan. Quinn,
Jade and Daniels and everybody else involved. Quickly side on
that stat. Yeah, one of the two teams that actually
won the week after was the Tennessee Titans when they
beat the Patriots. So so really it doesn't even count.
(19:16):
It's right, that's a mulligan right there all the time.
That's true. Jody McDonald Jody MacMahon on Twitter, sports talk
host nationally part of the Infinity Sports Network, but also
locally in Philadelphia WIP. Jody, welcome, congrats in that I
know you're not part of the team, but your team
has moved on. It leads to more interesting commentary. You
(19:38):
don't just have to turn the page and look to
something else. This is round three.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
Man.
Speaker 4 (19:43):
These teams they split in the regular season. We know,
you know, like these teams, they couldn't possibly know each
other better than they do. What are the expectations here
for when all the chips are on the line for
a trip to the super.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
Bowl, Another week of talking Eagles football is not a
bad thing on WIP. I can guarantee you that you
are one hundred percent correct. And I had not heard
the stat that you guys just gave, which is when
I'm on on Thursday night, I will certainly put out
their Eagle fans to here. That is one tendency that's
pointing the Eagle's way. Expectations are that the Eagles supposed to win.
(20:21):
They finished with a better record to Washington. Yet they
split two games with Washington, but the game they won
they won more handily. Jadon Daniels had to pull one
out of the fire with a touchdown with under thirty
seconds to go to win the last time they played Washington,
and the Eagles have a ton more experience as far
as playoffs and even Super Bowl experience goes. So the
(20:44):
expectations are, Yeah, in their house in January, they're supposed
to be able to beat the Washington Commander. So nothing
less than the Super Bowl appearance is going to be
considered disappointment in Philly.
Speaker 5 (20:58):
So, Jody, what's the latest with Jayleen her? It's still
a little banged up. It's the knee. This time he
was questionable or limited rather today he's listed as questionable
for this game. But I'm assuming he's going to be
out there on Sunday.
Speaker 7 (21:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (21:11):
I was not surprised at all when they didn't practice
him today, limited whatever that was. He stood there, but
they weren't going to take any chances with him, and
that doesn't surprise me in the least. I also know
Jalen hurtswell enough to know he's going to give it
a go. I think he was playing in pain after
he hurt the knee in the game last week. And
(21:32):
Eagles are very lucky and if they have Saint Mon
Barkley who they can hand the ball to and with
their very good offensive line, take control of the game
and not have to throw the ball a lot. Last week,
Jalen fifteen or twenty seventy five percent is always good,
but he threw for less than one hundred and fifty yards.
So Diego offense is what it is. It is now
a much more running based offense. And they just hoped
(21:54):
there's a couple of plays, big plays, and Jalen hurts
that he can get through the game even with the
need that is somewhat banged up.
Speaker 4 (22:02):
Liking Philadelphia is one thing I'm sure most people will,
but do you like them enough to effectively win by
a touchdown to cover six six and a half? Because,
like you said, I mean we have seen Jade Daniels
pardon me, and the commanders. I mean how many times?
What was the staff that we just someone recited to
us the other night. I think it was Scott Pritchard
(22:23):
last night. The number of games they've come back from
the dead and won basically on the final play that
went three times this year something like that. So I
mean this, this is not a team to be taken lightly.
Not that again, the Eagles will, I fully realize that,
but this is uh, you know, they just they're they're frisky, man.
They don't go away.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
Here's one thing that I will say, the Commanders may
very well have an advantage over the Eagles if Jalen
Arts is one healthy, he and Daniels I think are
say Lamar Jackson probably the two best running quarterbacks in
the National Football League other than mister Jackson. If Jalen's
not one hundred percent, he's not going to be taken
(23:03):
off and that is advantage to Commanders, and that is
something the Eagles haven't been great in this year. Yeah,
they beat Lamar Jackson the Ravens during the season was
probably one of the beggar of the season with better
regular season wins in Baltimore. But I think he rushed
for like sixty sixty five yards. They didn't beat him
because they shut down Lamar on the run. That is
(23:24):
not a strong suit for the Eagles. Orion Burks filled
in at linebacker this past week. He did get six tackles,
but he's not nearly as good at handling the run
as Nikobe Dean is and he's done for the season.
So I would keep an eye on Daniels and see
what his over under number is for number of yards.
Eagles have not been good at shutting down running quarterbacks,
(23:48):
and that is probably the thing that scared me most
about this matchup from a Philadelphia perspective.
Speaker 5 (23:54):
Do you think this is finally going to be a
game where the Eagles are going to have to throw
the football? I mean, Jalen Hurts has I think just
two hundred and fifty yards total through two games so
far through the air. DeVante Smith, AJ Brown not much
production on the field so far this postseason, but this game,
with the way Washingman's been playing, could be close. Maybe
Hurts has to make some plays with his arms.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
On Sunday, common sense says that's probably going to be
the case. But I don't know if common sense rules here,
because common sense said, after Jalen didn't throw it all
that well and ego passing game wasn't good in the
first get well, then the Rams will stack the box
and make sure that Sagwein Barkley doesn't beat him, and
there Jalen Hurts to throw it well a doing the
(24:36):
good enough stop stacking the box, and Herzel went for
two hundred. So the commanders can do the same. They
can believe that that's their plan. But then you got
to be able to shut him down, and not too
many people have done that over the course of the
entire season. So I think they'll come in believing if
they have to throw the ball, they will throw the ball.
(24:58):
But if they don't have to pound, sake one for
another twenty five to thirty carries.
Speaker 4 (25:03):
Well, look, we talked about this week this last week
when you were on with this preview. In that Rams
game that obviously Philadelphia eked out twenty eight to twenty two,
it was all right, Well, Saquon went for two to
fifty five rushing in the regular season matchup. They're not
gonna let them go over two hundred again, are they?
Sure enough? With long of seventy eight he rushes for
two toh five. So you look at these two meetings
(25:25):
in the regular season, Saquon went twenty six for one
forty six in one of those games, and then the
other one where Kenny Pickett largely played because that was
when Hurtz went down with the concussion, and that was
the high scoring game that Washington won thirty six thirty
three Saquon went twenty nine for one fifty in that contest,
So you know, how do you do how do you
prevent Saquon from going for one fifty in this game?
(25:48):
I mean, we know what the game plan is going
to be for Philadelphia, especially if there is any doubt
surrounding Jalen hurts the status. But that's why the rushing
prop is monstrous. I haven't seen a line like this
the entire year. Dan one twenty five and a half. Wow,
is the rushing line for Saquon.
Speaker 5 (26:09):
Bark with combo the past two weeks.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Yeah, this is just rushing one twenty five and a half.
So you know the books are adjusting, they're looking at
what he's doing lately. The algorithm's paying attention, Jody. I mean,
I understand if you're hesitant to bet the over it's
a huge number, but would you even consider betting the under?
Speaker 3 (26:30):
Don't think I'd looked at the total in this game. Uh.
It was funny because last week with the Eagles, they
were six and a half in most places, and where
I wanted to put my action in it was six
and a half. So I just took a little value,
decreased and moved it down to six, so I got
to push out of it, which was perfectly fine. Better
to lose it. Right now, I'm leaning toward the Eagles again,
(26:54):
and I'd probably do the same exact thing. Take it
down to six. Take your chances there over under, because
you don't know what hurts it's gonna be. If I knew,
if I felt I had a good grasp on what
percentage he it was gonna be out, how much he's
gonna be able to pull it down and take off
and make a play, I would lean toward over. But
(27:15):
because of the unknown of Jaylen's health, I would stay
away from the under.
Speaker 9 (27:20):
Over.
Speaker 5 (27:21):
So Jody, I feel pretty confident that the Eagles win
on Sunday afternoon. I'm pretty big on the stat that, uh,
a rookie quarterback's never even made the Super Bowl, let
alone win one. I know Jaden Daniels has been awesome,
but I feel like the Commanders have had a lot
of turnoverlook this postseason, most recently even five against Detroit.
But can you paint the picture? How does Washington you know,
(27:43):
make history on Sunday afternoon?
Speaker 9 (27:46):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (27:46):
Yeah, Jayden Daniels taking off and running for about ninety
yards and he can do that. He is completely capable
of doing that. If he takes you off and takes
it into the house twice, then that's how I think
they can Pulley upset the turnover battle that Detroit lost
to the Commanders last week. The got to in a
(28:08):
terrible game first time to have his worst game of
the year. He's just not that good. But the Eagles
haven't turned the ball over yet in the playoffs. They've
come up with six turnovers. They have not had one
turnover their own. People are getting on Jalen's case because
he is thrown for just some buck twenty five. But
he's not doing picks. He's not putting the ball in
(28:29):
harm's way when he takes off and runs with it.
He's put it away and taking care of it. That
probably would be what this thing comes down to is
who does or doesn't turn the ball over. And even
though the Commanders did come up with five turnovers, there's
no way the Eagles have turned it over five times.
I'd actually be surprised if they turned it over more
than once.
Speaker 4 (28:48):
We got forty four points when these teams matched up
for the first time the last time. As mentioned, it
ballooned to sixty nine because again, well it's just a
weird game, which I don't even know how much we
can take out of that game, considering there was largely
no Jalen Hurts. We have a total of forty seven
and a half this weekend. We've seen a lot of
unders so far in the playoffs. How do you feel
(29:10):
about this line?
Speaker 3 (29:13):
He the he goals down to six, and I would
if Hurts, we know hur to the go. I certainly
wouldn't betten until you got a given that yous go.
He'll probably practice on tomorrow or or excuse me, on Friday,
and then we'll know for sure. Unless he reinjures himself,
he'll be a go. But I'd love to wait and
(29:33):
see if he gets some insider reports as to what
the percentage he's going to play at. If it's ninety
or above, I would go over. It's high, but I
would lean toward over if you were playing the under
over instead, I'll just take the Eagles and I'll save that,
have a point, take it down to six, take a
little less value. But it worked for me last week,
(29:56):
So you always go back to something to work for you.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
Jody McDonald w VIP and Philadelphia part of the Infinity
Sports Network as well. He is on Twitter at Jody
MacMan and Jody maybe just maybe, some would say probably,
We'll be reaching out to chat again to look ahead
at the super Bowl.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
If the burn to super Bowl bound. I'm back to
the Adam Corkwood show.
Speaker 4 (30:18):
That works for me, sounds great for us. Thanks Jody.
We will get the commander's side of things with the
first time or on the show. Ethan Caddo will join
us Monumental Sports Network when we come back.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
Locks, Leans and everything in between. It says here we
should work in teams. It wants to be my sponnor.
Speaker 7 (30:39):
I don't think you should be doing too much gambling tonight.
Speaker 2 (30:42):
Alan gambling does anything about gambling. It's not gambling when
you know you're gonna win.
Speaker 3 (30:47):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Now back to Boston's only nightly betting show.
Speaker 2 (30:52):
The Gambler with Adam Kaufman.
Speaker 1 (30:54):
Listen on the iHeartRadio app or your smart speaker.
Speaker 4 (31:05):
We're breaking down Eagles Commanders Conference Championship and oh, by
the way, NFC East Rivals. We've seen this movie before
a couple of times already. We mentioned earlier Eagles took
one Commanders took the other no slight on Washington saying this,
but they did do it with no Jalen Hurts. Hurts
(31:26):
played in that one for a hot minute and then
left with the concussion that sidelined him for the final
couple games of the regular season. But none of that
matters anymore other than obviously familiarity, which there is plenty
of between these two teams. Joni McDonald was just here
with us, gave us the Philly perspective. Now we welcome
(31:47):
in another new voice from the Commander's Beat, and that
is Ethan Cadou on Twitter at Ethan understore Cado. He
is from the Monumental Sports Network. A couple of people
have joined us from MSN. We've had c an age
ad Monumental Sports Network as well, So yeah, nice reaching
(32:08):
out to places that we're not as familiar with here
in the Boston area. Ethan, Welcome to the show. How
are you.
Speaker 6 (32:14):
I'm doing great. Thanks for having me on.
Speaker 4 (32:16):
Absolutely we appreciate you being here with us. Listen, I
don't need to tell you this, I'm sure, but there's
a lot of confidence in Philadelphia that the Eagles are
going to win this game. I'm sure that exists in
our nation's capital as well. Not that they haven't been
distracted by some other things going on of late, But
how do you view this game knowing that you've seen
(32:36):
this matchup twice already this year? There really are no surprises.
I wouldn't think it's just may the best team win?
Who's it going to be?
Speaker 6 (32:47):
Yeah, I mean, if you're going up and down the roster,
I don't think it's really much of a debate which
side has more talent. That's obviously the Eagles. There's a
reason they're six and a half point favorites at this point,
and I think all that does matter. But the thing
in DC where people keep saying, and it's the thing
that I keep going back to when I break down
this game, is the Commanders have Jayden Daniels and the
(33:09):
Eagles do not. And that's crazy to say put that
much praise or that much responsibility on a rookie quarterback,
but that's exactly what he's shown. I mean, he's the
major main reason why they beat Detroit last week. He's
the main reason why they beat Philadelphia at that game.
You were just talking about where Hurts did go out
for a little bit or missed the second half of
(33:29):
the game with the concussion, but he hurts isn't playing
defense where Jayden and Daniels throws five touchdowns against them,
So I think it's going to be another nail bier.
And there's some voodoo magic going around with the Commanders
right now where they're winning games on the final play,
regulation or overtime, and it's been a really in DC.
It's been a magical ride that they there's a quiet
(33:51):
confidence going into the link this weekend.
Speaker 5 (33:54):
So Ethan I asked our last guest from Philadelphia, how
do the Eagles screw this opportunity up? How do they
lose this game? And he said, basically, Jayden Daniels is
gonna have to run for about ninety yards and two touchdowns.
I'm curious if you think that's that's the path that
Washington needs, is for Daniels to do more with his legs.
Speaker 6 (34:11):
On Sunday, Yeah, I would concur with that. I mean
the Falcons game that kind of comes to mind for me.
On Sunday night football, the running game for Washington with
their backs was not working at all. They were down
seventeen to seven in half, and Jayde Daniels just took
it upon his legs to win that game. I think
he finished with one hundred and twenty seven yards ran
(34:31):
for forty of those on the overtime drive to win.
I could see a similar formula. I will say he
did have a lot of success throwing the ball against
Philadelphia in that second matchup. And like you said, it's
the third time they're playing, They're not really sneaking up
on anyone. I'm sure Vic Fangio's defense is going to
bring their a game and blow Daniels anyway they can.
But I think there's still plenty of potential for him
(34:54):
to beat them with his arm. I mean, we've seen
Deammy Brown kind of emerge these last two games, really
become a new face in that passing game that wasn't
really that much of a factor in the first two matchups.
So I will say, yes, I think Jayden will have
to do a lot more with his legs against Philadelphia.
He would there than he had to do the last
two games. But I do think there's another way for
(35:17):
Washington to put up points besides that, and I think
it's the same way they beat Detroit and the same
way they beat Tampa with just some explosive passing plays
as well, but also just kind of finding that balance
on offense overall.
Speaker 4 (35:31):
So to that end, I mean, who should we have
our eyes on. Who's a logical betting target. Obviously Jayden
Daniels is the weapon, we know that, but he really
spreads the ball around, and we've talked about a lot
of these different guys. There's nobody, no bigger name Daniels's
side than obviously Terry McLaurin. But where ultimately does the
(35:52):
offense come from here? Do you think?
Speaker 2 (35:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (35:54):
One one prop. I do really like his Austin Eckler
receiving yards. The first time they played Philadelphia, he had
eight catchers for eighty something yards. I know that was
a little bit different where Daniels was dealing with the
rib injury and wasn't really going downfield, But the last
two games he's been really involved. In the past game
as well, he missed four of the team's final five
games after suffering a concussion and was kind of forgotten
(36:18):
man in this offense. But he's provided a real spark
for Washington the last two games, and it really only
takes one or two screens for him to kind of
get to that number get over and I think he's
another weapon that Washington will definitely try and use as
they keep Philadelphia's defense off guard because the run game,
I can't imagine Brian Robinson Junior is really gonna have
a huge day going up against that Eagles front. I mean,
(36:40):
the Commanders are going to be without their best offensive
lineman and Sam Cosmy who's out for the rest of
the year with ACL So I would say, look Eckler.
I mean, obviously I would expect Terry McLaurin to get
a ton of targets early and often, but we saw
in that first matchup he was pretty much shut down
by Quinnion Mitchell. He did get the better of him
in the second matchup, but I don't know, it's gonna
(37:02):
have to be someone besides McLaurin. Maybe it's Deammi Brown
like I mentioned earlier, but Eckler's a pretty safe bet.
I think could have a big game.
Speaker 5 (37:10):
I like that Eckler play a lot. I think you
can even find it like twenty three and a half
right now. And I'm glad you brought up Terry McLaurin
to Ethan, because that's who I was gonna ask you
about next. He's had great games so far in the playoffs,
both rounds eighty eighty high eighties yardage a touchdown in
each game. But as you kind of hinted at there,
Philly did a really good job against him in the
regular season, just a total of seventy yards in those
(37:33):
two games combined. Now, he had sixty in the second
game at home here, but his prop this weekend just
sixty four and a half. He's been well over that,
but Philly's playing pretty well against him. Would you have
a lean with it when it comes to mclaurin's usage
on Sunday.
Speaker 6 (37:48):
Yeah, I would. I think the under is probably the
better play from a pure betting standpoint. I mean, Quinnon Mitchell.
The first matchup, he kind of had McLaurin really clamped up.
And then the second matchup, Yeah, McLaurin had sixty yards,
but thirty seven of them came on that one touchdown
down the sideline. I will say they're definitely going to
(38:08):
make it more of a priority to throw to him
than they did in that first matchup, where I think
he only had four or five targets, which is absolutely
insane for your number one receiver to only get that
few looks, but the way I kind of look at
is it as I'm looking at the Rams game last week.
Kuka Nakua did end up hitting the over, I'm pretty sure,
but it was on that last catch, which was forty
(38:31):
something yards, and before that he was kind of a
non factor, and he had been arguably one of the
best receivers in the league down the stretch. So I
think the McLaurin number sixty four and a half is
kind of that like ify territory, where if it was
a little lower, you'd feel a lot more confident playing over,
but it's going to be sixty five plus harder yards
if he's going to get there.
Speaker 4 (38:51):
This team has won seven straight games. The total in
the contest is forty seven and a half, but we're
looking at twenty and a half. You're in signed three
touchdowns when it comes to Washington's team total, Commanders have
hit that number in six of the seven games during
this win streak, concluding both times here in the playoffs.
We've already seen them put up thirty six in a
(39:12):
game against Philadelphia only about a month ago. How do
you see that this week? Is is you know, win
or lose? Is defense? For Philly going to be a
problem for that Commander's offense, which has largely been rolling.
Speaker 6 (39:27):
It certainly could be, But for the team total, I
would lean the over. I mean, this Commander's offense has
been rolling for like you said, much of the last stretch.
They put up thirty five against the same defense what
six weeks ago, and that every whenever people bring up
that game, everyone's just quick to point out that Kenny
Pickett was the one playing quarterback for the Eagles ball
(39:47):
Kenny Pickett doesn't play defense for them, and Jaydon Daniels
had five touchdowns in the game winning drive against that
same defense. I think they are going to go over
that twenty and a half number. I would feel pretty
confident in that, and that's the way I would play
that angle.
Speaker 5 (40:02):
So before we let you go, we do have to
ask you about the Commander's defense and their chances of
I can't say, stopping Saquon Barkley, but maybe slowing him
down a little bit.
Speaker 3 (40:13):
Here.
Speaker 5 (40:14):
He ran for over one hundred and forty yards in
each of those two meetings. In the regular season. He's
on a whole other level here in the playoffs, he
just went over for over two hundred against the Rams
this past weekend. Adam mentioned earlier tonight his prop this
week is one hundred and twenty five and a half
rushing yards, which is just absurd. But we know Saquon's
probably gonna get twenty plus carries here. Jamiir Gibbs had
(40:35):
a really nice night on the ground against Washington on Saturday, Ethan,
But Detroit kind of had to gain abandon that game plan. Philly,
on the other hand, they will just keep handing it
to him over and over and over again. So what
are Washington's chances of actually slowing him down Sunday?
Speaker 6 (40:51):
Yeah, I would say slim. I mean, he's hit that
over in both matchups against Washington. He's had home runs
like he had against the Ram. He had one of
those against Washington last time. I think he had over
one hundred and twenty yards in the first half in
that second matchup. So obviously, flowing down Saquon Barkley is
going to be the number one, number two, number three
(41:12):
points of emphasis for that defense. But I mean, like
you said, they're gonna keep handing him the ball, handing
him the ball, handing him the ball. I think Detroit
got a little stubborn once they were down, maybe abandoning
the run a little bit. It seemed like Jamior Gibbs
was getting ten plus yards every time he touched the
football last week, and you have to wonder if the
game script didn't really go the way it did, just
how how many more yards he would have had the
(41:33):
same thing if you go back to week seventeen, Bijon
Robinson had eighty yards at half against Washington and they
just abandoned the run there. So I don't think Philly
is stubborn enough to do that. I also don't think
they're super confident in being able to beat Washington on
the outside. I know, obviously you have two great weapons
and aj Brown and DeVonta Smith, but who knows about
(41:54):
Jalen Hurts his health. He hasn't looked that great over
the past four or five weeks regardless. Obviously you missed
a couple of games with that concussion too. But I
think they're going to hand the ball to Saque and
continue to do it over and over until Washington can
prove they can stop them. And I just I'm not
super confident that the Commanders canna be able to do that.
Speaker 4 (42:13):
Last one. Ethan you're around this team, you are certainly
a hell of a lot closer to it than we
are here in the Boston area, and you talk to
these players, these coaches, you're just you've been following all
of it. I say that because this team was not
supposed to be here in so many ways. It wasn't
supposed to even be a playoff team, let alone one
(42:33):
went away from a trip to the super Bowl. Certainly
was not supposed to beat Detroit. You can say what
you want about Tampa. The Commanders were not supposed to
beat the Lions. I wouldn't ask this question about the Eagles.
I wouldn't ask it about the Chiefs. I wouldn't ask
it about the Bills. But the Commanders being in sort
of uncharted territory with a rookie quarterback, are they fully
(42:57):
in sync with the mission? Are they?
Speaker 3 (43:00):
You know?
Speaker 4 (43:00):
Is this unfinished business full motivation that you would hope
to see from any team, or is there any aspect
of playing with house money? Just happy to be here?
Speaker 9 (43:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (43:13):
I certainly don't feel that house money narrative. And going
into the week, I kind of think their thought I
was going to But today every single player kept reciting
this mission that they have on the walls in their
locker room, in the auditorium, just throughout the building that
says anyone, anywhere, anytime, and I think they truly believe it. Obviously,
(43:33):
like you said, they're not supposed to be here. I
think people in the locker room will say, yeah, we
always thought it would be a good team, But I
think even they'd tell you, like, deep down, they didn't
think they'd be one win away from the super Bowl.
So I think, yeah, they are obviously happy to be here.
It's a great season, win or lose. But they've gotten
to this point. They've beat the number one team in
(43:53):
the NFC last week, and they've already beaten the team
that they're facing with a trip to the super Bowl
on the line. So I do think within the building
they truly feel like there's an opportunity there and they're
ready to go out and take it. But I don't
think the house money narrative is actually one that's true
within the walls.
Speaker 4 (44:12):
In Ashbourn, Ethan Caddo again covers the Commanders among other
teams for the Monumental Sports Network on Twitter at Ethan
underscore Cado. Thanks so much for hopping on with us
and wish you luck.
Speaker 9 (44:25):
Man.
Speaker 4 (44:26):
I mean, this is going to be a fun game.
I think more fun than a lot of people out
there do. And I'm certainly rooting for the Commanders. I
want something a little different Commander's Bills. That's the super
Bowl I'm rooting for. So good luck on your side.
Speaker 9 (44:40):
Appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (44:40):
Yeah, remake nineteen ninety one season Commander's Bills?
Speaker 4 (44:43):
Yeah, who remembers that a million years ago? Either Cado
once again, Monumental Sports Network. We'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (44:51):
Did someone jerk the People's Parlay?
Speaker 4 (44:54):
If someone has to be the jerk, I hope it's
you or the guests. I don't want to be the jerk.
I don't want anyone to. I pray it. I would
like us all to hit all of our plays every
single night. But if someone's got to be the jerk,
I don't want to be the jerk. I don't want
to be the one that ruins it.

If you missed any of the podcasts again any of
that discussion, search the podcast, subscribe to the podcast. Great
review of the podcast. We're here with you. Good insights,
good betting insights. We're gonna get to our bank roll
repairs here just a little bit, and then more football
(45:51):
to start at the next hour on the Patriots, who
of course have added some coaches. But we were just
talking off the year dan betting conversation. Why not bring
it too the air, sure props that might be jumping
out to you for this particular matchup the Eagles and
the Commanders. Now we both really like what Ethan had
to say about Austin Eckler. Yeah, it just sort of
(46:13):
feels like I see people like Lyndy on this every week,
like there are just people that will blind bet Austin
Eckler over receiving arts. He is such a focal point
in that offense, not always consistently running the ball. I
tend to like his rushing receiving combo. But you know
you mentioned the receiving line is super low. It's you know,
(46:35):
sitting in the vicinity of what twenty and a half
you said.
Speaker 5 (46:39):
Twenty three and a half, Yeah, twenty four and a half,
depending on where you look like. Eckler was a popular
ladder play for a lot of people. I think Saturday
night against Detroit, I think that's gonna be the case
again Sunday afternoon. I mean, you can get him at four.
You en to have forty receiving yards. It is plus
two seventy on Caesar's right now he breaks free on
(46:59):
a screw pass, like sure he'll smash that.
Speaker 4 (47:02):
Look he went. He went forty seven last week against Detroit,
or forty one receiving. He had forty seven rushing. He
went for twenty six receiving in the game before that,
twenty seven rushing against Tampa. So again that rush receiving combo,
which is sub fifty. You clear that both times right.
(47:25):
Regular season was a little inconsistent, But I just I'm
not afraid of that. I don't care about that yet.
Speaker 5 (47:32):
His best receiving day of the season both receptions and
yards by far eight catches eighty nine yards in the
one game he played against the Eagles, which was that
Thursday in November, that Thursday night game, And as Ethan
was talking about, Daniels was a little banged up in
that one, so he was looking to dump.
Speaker 2 (47:48):
It off a lot more.
Speaker 3 (47:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (47:49):
I just the thing that jumps out to me, well
there are two if we're going to really drill down,
pardon me on the receiving prop is that he was
targeted four times in each the playoff games, right and
also sure handed. Obviously these are these are not difficult catches,
you know. It's it's like screen passes.
Speaker 5 (48:08):
Yeah, it's not like when the Chargers would split him
out wide and right and send him.
Speaker 4 (48:11):
So he won four for four for forty one, three
for four for twenty six. But what that tells you
if you don't watch a lot of Commanders football, he
is an important part of that offense. He is a
reliable part of that offense for Daniels, and I think
that's going to continue. I like that bet a lot.
Speaker 5 (48:27):
Oh absolutely, And then I'm just pulling up with his receptions.
It's two and a half two and a half, yeah,
but it's minus minus one sixty yeah to the over. Yeah,
I've looked at that one a number of times, just historically,
not specifically this game. Yeah, that's that's usually usually what
we're talking about. But that kind of goes hand in
hand with a guy on the Philly side that I'm
looking at too, that we played on Sunday, and that's
(48:48):
Dallas Goddard. To go over three and a half catches,
He's got at least four in both games, I believe
so far this postseason. I think he's got at least
four in every single home playoff game in his career.
He's been Hurts. His guy just kind of gets open
there in the middle of the field, and he's been
much more consistent than the two wide receivers. Who Hurts
is struggling to get the ball tough right now. Goddard
just kind of does those short little button hook routes
(49:11):
and gets the ball there. But like if you were
to do a little Goddard Eckler receiving over, I mean,
I think that'd probably be a nice little parlay. Yeah,
plus one sixty seven you can find that out for
the two of them. So three catches from Eckler, four
from Goddard. That's not a bad little play.
Speaker 4 (49:25):
No, not at all. We'll explore more of that. Tomorrow
for sure, we'll have more time to really dig deep
into how to bet. These two games, will plenty of
time have to decide who our football expert is going
to be tomorrow night for the NFL. But looking forward
to that, all right, let's step aside. We'll come on
back bank rollerpayers for your Thursday on.

Celtics just playing with their food against the Clippers early.
It's a tie game, twenty four piece, just a lot
of hitting shots. Each team has like two rebounds or
(50:33):
something in the first eight minutes of this game. Really, anyway,
we'll talk more about it, maybe at least to some degree.
Warriors starting to take a decent little lead on Sacramento,
which I bring up because it does relate to my
bank roll repair. But I am positioned to cash tonight.
I'm still live. Need a Celtics money line win, which
(50:55):
by God they had better get. I guess we're doublely
invested because I also took this. Wasn't even thinking about that.
I wasn't even thinking about it. But I did. I
did it, Dan, I did it.

Speaker 4 (51:08):
I know it is. It is unwritten bankroll repairs for tomorrow.
What do you have? All right?

Going right back to college basketball? Three legs again, let's
try you see Irvine Saint Mary's in Elon all on
the money line plus one oh seven on DraftKings.
Speaker 4 (51:24):
I'm not sure we can support Elon right now. That's
a tough look. Just cash, just cash, baby, plenty of
money for Elon. That's not the issue. Mine is a
three legger in the NBA. I'm going with the excuse

money line. Milwaukee was supposed to play today against the Pelicans,
got postponed, playing host tomorrow against this dysfunctional Miami Heat
(52:09):
team fresh off again suspending Jimmy Butler, and then the Clippers.
They are sitting everybody tonight just so they can beat
the Wizards tomorrow, really trying for that win tomorrow, giving
themselves a full roster tomorrow, which is why you got
(52:29):
the G League Clippers in action tonight. So we're putting
the clips in here, unloading the clip, Nuggets, Bucks, Clippers.
Put those three together, Dan, it's almost even money on
the Dot plus one oh one on ESPN. There you go,
that's my bank roll repair very nice back in the
(52:49):
money line. Faves the load at Slate tomorrow. And like
every sport, Yeah, college basketball is huge. NHL's hu huge.
We're going to talk about that with Jonathan Davis later.
I did consider having an NBA guest in the last tower,
but you know, we already did the NBA in the
opening hour. Figured let's mix it up a little bit.
Speaker 5 (53:10):
We'll probably do it again tomorrow with the Celtics out
West again.
Speaker 4 (53:13):
Absolutely from there it'll be a lot of football, basketball
first hour football the rest of the way while we
have them a moment though a little bit of time
before we get out. We got about two minutes, there
was something you wanted to explore as far as a
show futures bet potentially.
Speaker 5 (53:32):
Yeah. So I'm thinking that the Phoenix Suns here are
going to make the move for Jimmy Butler. As we
were talking with Jim Turvey last night, and I was thinking,
why don't we try to get out in front of
this before they make the move and grab them to
make the playoffs. Now, the Suns are currently in a
playin spot there in the ten seed in the Western Conference.
They are a game like, they're like a game and
(53:54):
a half, two games out of one of those safe spot,
the six seed, whether you're just you're in. Yeah, so
they're two games bind the Lakers for that six seed.
I think this team is too talented to miss the playoffs. Obviously,
they got Golden State right behind them on their tails.
But I do think if they get Butler, go round
in the form and get in. Now this afternoon, I
(54:15):
was looking Caesar's had a plus one twenty for the
Phoenix Suns to make the playoffs. It was minus money
in some other spots. Caesar's has taken it down tonight
with all these teams in action. So when this pops
back up. If there's a plus money, I think we
should grab it.
Speaker 4 (54:29):
Yeah, I wouldn't think just because the expectations anyway where
the Suns were less, win trade happened.
Speaker 5 (54:34):
Unless the trade happens tonight.
Speaker 4 (54:35):
Sure. Outside of that, I wouldn't think the odds are
going to be dramatically different because again, like the books,
New Phoenix would win tonight, right, I support it makes
a lot of sense to me.
Speaker 5 (54:47):
Yeah, I just want that plus one twenty. Yeah I would.
I don't want to lay juice on this.
Speaker 4 (54:50):
Let's no no. So I think you're still looking at
plus money either way, whether it's still one twenty or
if it's one fifteen to one ten that I don't know.
Speaker 5 (54:58):
Yeah, I'm looking right now. See if anybody's got it up,
I wouldn't think. Yeah, it's not looking like it.
Speaker 4 (55:05):
I think they got to adjust to everybody, wait for
everyone to finish up. But yeah, no, I like it.
I think it makes a lot of sense. All right,
we're gonna step aside, come on back with Karen Garigi
and Mass Live Patriots making moves.
Speaker 1 (55:22):
Sweat your bets with Boston's only nightly betting.
Speaker 4 (55:26):
Show, Gambling.
Speaker 2 (55:28):
I try to keep the gambling to animal. How do
you do that?
Speaker 1 (55:32):
But being good at the Gambler with Adam Kaufman, streaming
live on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (55:38):
Me a moment, subscribe to the podcast.
Speaker 1 (55:41):
Back to Adam Kaufman and Dan Watkins.
Speaker 4 (55:48):
Our three Gambler with Adam Kaufman. Thank you for hanging
out a lot of football in that second hour again,
a deep dive into the Eagles and the Commanders. Jody
McDonald Ethan caddou kind enough to join us. Got to
mix in some Patriots though, I got to talk about
what's going on with this team. Cut the new head coach,
(56:08):
Mike Vrabel. Worst kept secret. Nope, I take that back.
Second worst kept secret, the worst kept secret the offensive
coordinator Josh McDaniels back for a third tour of duty. Meanwhile,
the new defensive coordinator, first time in that role, but
(56:28):
a Mike Vrabel guy. We'll talk about him, Terrell Williams.
So the coaching staff has taking shape. Let's discuss with
Karen Grigey and who, of course, good friend of the program,
does a great job covering the Pats as for many
years columnist over at mass Live Sports, get around Twitter
at k Garigi and Karen, thanks for staying up late
(56:50):
with us. How are you?
Speaker 7 (56:52):
I'm well, how are you doing well?
Speaker 4 (56:55):
Uh? Look, I said to Dan almost word for war
last night, that if you had said to me, as
some did in the middle of the Patriots season when
it was Drod Mayo and Alex van Pelt, who are
now both reportedly gone. We know that Mayo is obviously,
but it seems Van Pelt is as well. If you
(57:18):
had said to me back then, Vrabel McDaniels, how do
you feel about that combo with Drake may next year?
I would have said, where do I sign? Please? For
the love of God? Yes, but at the same time,
and it doesn't this. This isn't me saying that it
was the wrong move either one of them. In fact,
I think it was the right move, but simultaneously uninspired,
(57:41):
right I mean this, There is just an unwillingness at
the highest levels of that organization to try anything different.
Speaker 7 (57:51):
You mean new and exciting.
Speaker 10 (57:53):
Yes, translation translation, yeah, they to go back to the
well a little bit. But in saying that, as you said,
I actually I.
Speaker 7 (58:09):
Think both are kind of the you know, perfect fits
for the job at hand. I really think, you know,
Rabel is a type of coach who's He put it
this way, he's the perfect Patriot coach because he's gonna
be able to do more with less, because he's gonna
(58:33):
he's a very good in game coach to the point
where I think he can steal wins. He's he gets
players to play for him and you know, play to
their level, if not beyond. And again, when you're in
this kind of situation where your roster is bereft of
(58:56):
talent for at least for now, you need some guy
who's gonna some kind of coach who's gonna do more
with less. As for Josh McDaniels, you know, from all
the offensive play callers, slash coordinators, slash quarterbacks coaches out there,
(59:20):
no one has his resume. You know, he's actually called
games before, unlike Alex Van Pelt. And I think, you know,
my my biggest concern with Josh is, you know, having
Drake have to kind of change systems or learn new
language or whatever it is. But I've seen Josh adapt
(59:47):
to the quarterbacks he has, and my hope is my
belief is he will adapt. He will adapt to Drake May.
He's not going to make him learn the Brady offense
as it was the last time we saw it. With
all his complexities and whatever, He's going to do something
(01:00:09):
that's suited to Drake May because it makes sense to
And again he's someone who who will adapt his playbook.
Speaker 2 (01:00:24):
He did it.
Speaker 7 (01:00:25):
I mean, we saw him do it with Cam Newton,
We saw him do it with Matt Castle. We saw him,
you know, basically do what was best for the quarterback
he had. And I can't, as I said, I can't
believe he won't do that this time for Drake May.
And again, given how well Josh works with quarterbacks and
(01:00:50):
develops them and gets them to play again, this looks
like a really good move, even if it was even
if this is his third tour duty.
Speaker 5 (01:01:02):
So, Karen, it feels like the popular question around this
move is not is it the right move for the Patriots?
Was Josh the best candidate but instead was Josh Mike
Rabel's top choice or was this kind of more pushed
on him by the Crafts.
Speaker 7 (01:01:19):
Yeah, that's that's the million dollar question.
Speaker 10 (01:01:23):
You know.
Speaker 7 (01:01:23):
I don't know any of this for a fact, but
there were reports out there that the Crafts were making
calls at some point during the season on how to
get the best out of Drake may and they were
doing some fact finding, but I think it was a
little more than that, And again I don't know this
(01:01:46):
for a fact. My guess is that one of the
people they called was Josh McDaniels, so I think he's
been on the Crafts radar. Whether he was on Rabel's
radar radar is another story. I mean, the big question is,
say Rabel took another job in Chicago, in Jacksonville, wherever,
(01:02:11):
would he have brought Josh McDaniels along. And I don't
think that's as certain as the case here in New England.
But you know, they do know each other, even if
it's a slightly arranged marriage. You know, Josh serves the
(01:02:37):
same purpose as he did for Bill Belichick. Basically, you know,
he's going to handle the offense. Don't worry about the offense.
He's good, and Mike can worry about everything else. So,
I mean, that's how it was supposed to work last
year with Mayo and Alex van Pelt, but I don't
(01:02:58):
think they were exactly on the same page. So we'll
see how this plays out. But you know, for now, again,
I think Mike is probably on board with it, and
you know, rather than perhaps rolling the dice with some
(01:03:21):
quarterback coach slash offensive coordinator guy who's never called.
Speaker 4 (01:03:26):
Place with McDaniels, and you said it, the expectations he'll
adjust to Drake May as opposed to May address adjusting
to him. You know, you have to at least acknowledge,
you know, like we the McDaniels, we know existed entirely
(01:03:46):
with Tom Brady to a certain point, and entirely with
Bill Belichick all the way through his time with the
Patriots before obviously he left this latest time. So you know,
on the one hand, you could say, you know what,
very accomplished. You're getting a good, solid, experienced offensive coordinator
(01:04:07):
who you know, has coached up Mac Jones at least
in that rookie year, even under the Belichick umbrella, coached
up Matt Castle even though he had great weapons to
work with like Randy Mosson and Wes Welker, like we
talked about here on the show last night. But he's
also not going anywhere, Like even if he has success here,
(01:04:29):
he's not going because he's not gonna he's not gonna
a third chance in all likelihood as a head coach
in the NFL usually after two if they both go
really poorly or even semi poorly, you're done. So he's
here for as long as it does work out. If
it works out, and hopefully obviously it does. But do
you feel like, absent Belichick, absent Brady, we really know
(01:04:50):
who McDaniels is. I mean, this is when we're gonna
find out.
Speaker 7 (01:04:55):
Well, we know that without Belichick the coup. Several times
he's ventured out as a head coach, he's flopped. But again,
being the head coach slash play caller whatever, you know.
Obviously there's some coordinators out there who just weren't who
(01:05:18):
were really good coordinators, who aren't meant to be head coaches. Sure,
I think Josh might be one of those. Charlie Weiss
was another one, and I thought he was a brilliant
play caller in his time. Again, it doesn't Sometimes it
doesn't work, you know, going from a coordinator to a
(01:05:43):
head coach when there's so much more involved and you know,
handling the whole team and doing that, you know, this
responsibility that responds. Some people just aren't cut out for
that whole you know, the whole enchilada. But that doesn't
mean they're not good, that they're not good coordinators. I
(01:06:07):
mean he was with the Rams for a time and
wasn't that good. But you know when you were talking
about MATC. Castle and oh boy, they had all these weapons,
and you know he brought this awesome twenty and seventeen
that was you know, almost ran the table on the
season with wins. But if you were there as I was,
(01:06:32):
and you saw the first few weeks of Castle, they
ran the Brady offense and MATC. Castle was not cut
out to be throwing bombs to Randy Moss, and it
just didn't work. So Josh went back to the drawing
table and basically set up, you know, resfigured the offense
(01:06:56):
to fit what maccastled best, and that wasn't throwing long
bombs to Randy Moss. I don't think Randy Moss was
happy that year, but you know Matt Castle was more
throwing between the numbers as opposed to way down the field.
(01:07:16):
And he adjusted and once that adjustment was made, you know,
the Patriots started winning games. And they won eleven in
that year. They didn't make the playoffs, but you know
you could see that Josh made made the offense eventually
after a game or two, much more tailored to Matt
(01:07:39):
Castle's strengths. So you know, and that's with Mass without
Moss or whoever he had. It was an important thing
that he did to suit the offense more around Castle's
skill set as a quarterback. So as they said, I'm
(01:08:00):
I mean, we've seen it happen.
Speaker 9 (01:08:02):
You know, he was.
Speaker 7 (01:08:03):
He was doing our pos with Cam Newton. Our pos
aren't aren't in Tom Brady's offense, So you know he's right.
So you know, I think, you know, is he the
best offensive coordinator on the planet. No, But I think
(01:08:23):
again for the situation for trying to develop an up
and coming quarterback, I think I don't you know, I
don't think you necessarily have to worry about that part,
you know, acquiring players that's the other part.
Speaker 5 (01:08:44):
So that is the next step, that's for sure. Karen,
rely got about a minute left with you, but before
we let you go, want to get your thoughts on
what you what you know about the Terrell Williams higher
as the defensive coordinator. From what it sounds like, he's
going to be the ideal to develop someone like Kean White.
Speaker 7 (01:09:03):
Yeah, well, I think we're you know, he gets his
Terrell Williams is considered one of the better defensive line
coaches in the league. He was a defensive line coach
and oddly a run game coordinator with the Lions. He
(01:09:25):
worked with Rabel in Tennessee again on the defensive line,
and he again he's considered a very good coach. DeMarcus
Covington was considered a very good coach once he gets
to be the play caller, not so much so. I mean,
there's part that part of the equation. The difference here
(01:09:47):
is that I don't think Mike Rabel is going to
be afraid to kind of step on toes if he
has to, or you know, fix things if he has to.
If you know, Terrell Williams isn't you know, is lagging
in any way as the defensive play caller, but as
(01:10:09):
a defensive line coach. You know, it's hard to find
many better than him, you know, based on his reputation.
Speaker 4 (01:10:19):
It's going to be interesting, definitely an interesting offseason as
it comes to how do you burn all that cash?
Isn't that what MAO said last time? Cash to burn
whatever it was. Yeah, they got some money to spend
and they need some real weapons. On this team offense, defense,
special teams everywhere where. Yeah, there there are like five
(01:10:41):
guys on this roster that you would, you know, prefer
to build around, and really it's two. It's Trake May
and it's Christian Gonzales one offense, one defense. Everyone else
fully expendable on this team. And so it's going to
be a fascinating offseason. But I do like the way
the coaching sta is taking shape here and we'll see
(01:11:02):
where it goes. Certainly we're gonna check in plenty with
Karen Grigean from Mass Live calumnists over there on Twitter
at k Grigi and Karen thank you so much as.
Speaker 7 (01:11:11):
Always, Hey, thanks for having me on and anytime I will.
I'm happy to stay up late for you.
Speaker 4 (01:11:20):
How's that We appreciate that without a doubt. All right,
we're gonna step aside. Celtics. By the way, our leading
by four midway through the second quarter, right now, we're
gonna keep an eye on that. See how are people's
parlay that we built out, you know early in the
show is doing. Where are we at? Let's check it
(01:11:40):
real quick then we'll break. We have Wiggins is at
twelve points, Budd eat him at eighteen.
Speaker 5 (01:11:47):
Yep, Buddy Hill's at ten. Pr neat him at eighteen,
and then the celt up two, five and a half four.
You're well behind him there by the way, really well
behind all right? Well, good is Tatum? Four rebounds yet
not even on the floor?
Speaker 4 (01:12:05):
All right?
Speaker 2 (01:12:06):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (01:12:06):
In Arkansas? Wow about Arkansas?
Speaker 5 (01:12:08):
Down two with two to go?
Speaker 4 (01:12:10):
Come on, Donaldson, woop peg let's go get it, Don Donaldson,
We'll be back. Jonathan Davis from Vison will join us.
Speaker 2 (01:12:19):

of that breakdown of what you expect from the new
look Patriots coaching staff. Again we always tell you check
out the podcast The Gambler with a on the action
app for our bets. The podcast, the full name for
(01:13:05):
the shows easy enough to remember and we thank you
for hanging out with us three hours a night, Monday
through Thursday most weeks, this week shortened by the holiday
Monday Thursday most weeks. Tomorrow night, heavy, heavy football probably
not gonna be any time for hockey, which is a shame,
because we've got a big old slate tomorrow, which is
why we want to get into it here just a
(01:13:26):
little bit right now, over these next couple of segments,
including a people's parlay. That's right, we're gonna build two
here in this show. We'll be sweating one and building
out another one. Jonathan Davis hosts the ice Cap Show
for series XMNHL Radio, Vson's NHL betting analyst as well.
Get them on Twitter at West Coast Hky. Jonathan, Welcome back, man.
(01:13:48):
How are you doing great? How are you good? How's
the NHL betting season treating you.
Speaker 9 (01:13:56):
It's been good. It's been very kind. It got off
to a bit of a slow start, but I'd say
the last six weeks, definitely last month, have been very
very kind to me.
Speaker 4 (01:14:07):
Good. That's I mean, look, that's all you can ask for,
right It's it ebbs, it flows. We can't we can't
win every single day. The Bruins certainly know something about that.
They lost five to one in New Jersey today against
a better team in fairness, I mean, the Devils are
a better team, but Bruins took one nothing lead, held
it through the intermission and then allow four Jersey goals
(01:14:30):
in the second and you know, it was dust from there.
We even saw both goalies in this one, swaymen and
corpus Sollo. So what do you make of this Boston team,
the way it's playing in general, and of course the
fact that we're looking at it back to back back
home tomorrow against the Senators.
Speaker 9 (01:14:49):
Yeah, well, I seek what roster composition is a problem?
I mean, look, I felt before, you know, going into
the year, you know, I just didn't like they were
the way they were built down the middle. You know,
I'm I'm a lind Home fan, but not not as
a guy that can be your number one center. Now
you're dealing with the injuries on the back end and
(01:15:09):
that you know, no Lins, no Macavoy, so that puts
into an even bigger hole. So I just you know,
this is a Boston team that I just I just
don't think it has the parts and it's you know,
tonight was disappointing, especially when when you know Markston goes
down and you're going against Jake Allen, You've got a
pretty good shot, a better shot at winning that game,
(01:15:32):
and they just couldn't find a way to do it.
Speaker 5 (01:15:35):
Yeah, Jonathan, Since Charlie McAvoy went down a couple of
weeks ago, the Bruins goalies have just been getting peppered constantly.
I think Swayman was like the first Bruins goalie to
have three straight games with forty saves since like nineteen
sixty nine or something like that. So just opposing teams
are just literally firing a will on the Bruins right now.
Speaker 9 (01:15:53):
Well yeah, and you know it shouldn't be overly surprising
just because of what they don't have. And so, you know,
people I answered people questioning or saying, one person saying
to me today, you know, I really he really feels
that said that with the Vegas tandem of Aiden Hill
and Logan Thompson was better than swimming at all, Mark
(01:16:14):
and I would, you know, I said, look, you can't
don't look at what's what's going on with swimming right now.
It's just it's not fair to you know, to heat
this on him with just what he doesn't have in
front of him anymore.
Speaker 4 (01:16:28):
Looking at tomorrow's slate again, we have a pretty robust
one here and a lot of you know, there aren't
many in the way of heavy favorites, obviously no heavier
than the Hurricanes, who are practically minus four hundred on
the money line at home against the Blue Jackets. I mean,
clearly the only way to play that one if you're
(01:16:49):
going to is Carolina with the puck line. But do
you like the Hurricanes enough?
Speaker 9 (01:16:56):
Well, you know it's interesting you bring up that game.
So Columbus, by the way, is own six on the
back end of back to backs this year. I think
they've been outscored, it's twenty seven or twenty nine to six.
They've lost every game by at least two goals, and
they've they've given up at least four goals in every game.
So you know, they're variety of ways to approach at Carolina.
(01:17:17):
You know, they're often hasn't been as good as late,
so I think, you know, the puck line would be
a better way to approach this one. But yeah, this
has been a horrific spot for Columbus and really one
of the reasons why I think that they're in the
John Gibson sweep stakes because they do need a goal
to go with Mers Weakens. I mean, I know Daniel
Tarasov had a shutout, and you know how ironic is
(01:17:40):
it that the guy gets his first career shutout in
a loss in that game against the Rangers.
Speaker 5 (01:17:45):
So I got to take us all the way to
the last game on the slate tomorrow night, Jonathan, because
this number is just jumping right out at me here,
Predators Sharks. You got saying, I know that the Sharks
are horrible, they're the worst team in hockey, but Nashville's
only has five wins all see on the road. They
are a minus two forty favorite in some spots two
fifty and others. Am I crazy for saying, you know,
(01:18:07):
take the Sharks at plus two hundred, just just just
to see.
Speaker 9 (01:18:12):
Well, Okay, first off, did you watch last night's game?
Speaker 4 (01:18:15):
They were up four to one and they blew it.
Speaker 9 (01:18:17):
No, no, they were up five to one.
Speaker 3 (01:18:19):
It was five blew it.
Speaker 9 (01:18:21):
And you know, this is the second time that Alexander
Gorgia has been involved in two of the biggest collapses
this year. The first one was when he played for
Colorado and his team was down four nothing, Gorgiaev gets
pulled and buff and Colorado rallies to win five fig
in regulation. This time he's on the losing end. But
you know you're gonna have Astro off the net for
(01:18:41):
you know, going against his former team when he when
he plays against Nashville tomorrow. So no, it's not it's
not a bad play whatsoever. I mean, So no, I
would I would definitely sprinkle on it. Yeah, no, I
like that. I will say, I do want to just
touch upon your game and maybe it's something to use
for the parlay. But the Ottawa Senators are coming off
(01:19:05):
a shutout in their last game against the Rangers. So
one of the trends that's been very hot is a
team coming off of being shut out in their next game.
A goal scored in the first ten minutes by either
team is sixty and twenty seven. That's sixty nine percent.
Speaker 4 (01:19:22):
Wow, nice number. Yeah, that's something to do. Definitely consider here
going forward. Like you said, we're gonna build out a
people's parlay coming up in a little bit, look at
more of these games. Stay with us here. Jonathan Davis
with us from Vson.
Speaker 1 (01:19:36):
We'll be right back, locks, Leans and everything in between.
Speaker 2 (01:19:44):
It says here we should work in teams. It wants
to be my sponnor.
Speaker 4 (01:19:49):
I don't think you should be doing too much gambling tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:19:51):
Alan gambling does anything about gambling.
Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
It's not gambling when you know you're gonna win.
Speaker 2 (01:19:56):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (01:19:57):
Now back to Boston's only lee betting show, The Gambler
with Adam Kaufman. Listen on the iHeartRadio app or your
smart speaker.
Speaker 4 (01:20:11):
Back with Vison's Jonathan Davis. We'll build out a people's
parlay coming up in just a little bit. So we've
talked about the two you know, heavy spread, We're not
so much spread, heavy money, line discrepancies, the Blue Jackets, Hurricanes.
Dan brought up, of course, the Predators and Sharks. Dan
is celebrating on the other side of the Arkansas God.
(01:20:32):
Arkansas did a legacy Cash had a breakdown offensive.
Speaker 5 (01:20:37):
Well, they came back from down twelve at halftime, they
win sixty eight sixty five. They head to the free
throw line tied at sixty five with one second left,
hit their one free throw. I think they got the
rebound on the second to go up by three. Absolute
legacy cash there as Georgia was horrible from the free
throw line.
Speaker 4 (01:20:55):
Donaldson lives to fight another day. You know, while we're
on this real quick, Jonathan, you're a hockey guy, but
betting is betting. I don't necessarily need, uh, you know,
your your basketball insights, unless maybe you're you're a closet
NBA guy and we just don't know it. But I'm curious,
as a practice, are you a hedger or are you
(01:21:15):
generally someone who lets things ride?
Speaker 9 (01:21:20):
I would, I would. I'm definitely one of the promotes hedging.
I think anytime that you can you can guarantee yourself
a win, why wouldn't you take it? I mean, I
you know Derek Stevens, the owner of Circa, I think
is a big hedger, and I think it's done him
quite well.
Speaker 4 (01:21:36):
Properties Yeah, they seem to be doing all right. I've
heard heard good things. No, because I'm in this look
it's a betting show. I know this is a hockey segment,
but I'd be remiss if I didn't bring this up.
I built out a big parlay and it is down
to the final leg and I need four rebounds from
a guy who has hit this in every single game
(01:21:57):
this year and is playing in a close game, but
only has one rebound at the half. Jason Tatum for
people out there wondering, and I'm watching the game, and
he's just the one rebound he got was right at
the end of the half. Dumb luck, right place. Generally,
he has not played anywhere near the basket in this game.
They're almost using him more as a guard, playing outside
(01:22:17):
the three point line. And I could hedge his live
line is sitting at five and a half. I could
hedge it for basically break even. Is the situation, the
amount of money I would need to put down. It's
not even hedging for profit. It's to break even, like
on the nose, like the bet never happened. However, with
a middle if he finishes at four or five rebounds,
(01:22:39):
I win both bets. But if he finishes at six,
my aggressive, my you know, aggressiveness has cost me.
Speaker 9 (01:22:49):
Yeah, I mean, you know, maybe a hedge for a
small amount. It's tough, I think, I mean, if you're
gonna do it, I mean, otherwise it just doesn't seem
to make sense.
Speaker 4 (01:23:02):
Yeah, that's the that's the risk. That's the risks that
he lands at three and then I'm just pissed off
all night. That's that's the way it could go. All right,
let's get back to the hockey. Obviously your area of
expertise the Capitals and Kraken. Interesting situation, Washington. The road
team here is certainly the heavily bet upon team thus far.
(01:23:27):
Looking at the splits, the support has gone to the
Capitals mostly on the money line, although pretty good divide
when it comes to the puck line as well. In fact,
in terms of the handle it's like a ninety eight
to two split early on. Of course, these numbers will
move overnight more like sixty forty when it comes to
the bets. But how do you see this game playing out?
Speaker 9 (01:23:50):
You know, I haven't gone to look through the numbers,
but my memory seems to tell me that she all's
done well in this spot. And I do wonder. You know,
if you like Seattle, I would grab it now, only
because there's a good chance that Logan Thompson doesn't play tomorrow.
If you're gonna give him a night off, this is
(01:24:12):
the this is the game to give it to him.
He had a heavy workload. He stole that Edmonton game
last night. He was absolutely outstanding and you know, I
know Charlie Lindern's out. I can't remember who the backup
is now in Washington, but you know, if it's not Thompson,
that line's gonna drop significantly, and you know, the price
probably was not going to be very good. So I
(01:24:35):
think Seattle's worth a play right now, just just because
I think there's a good chance that Thompson doesn't play,
and that gives you a much better shot with the Craken,
who I think, as I said, I think that they've
done well in their history against Washington in Seattle.
Speaker 5 (01:24:52):
This Montreal Detroit game, Jonathan's interesting tomorrow night because the
Canadians are red hot lately that I think they're seven
and three in their last ten games. Detroit was red hot,
but they've since cooled off. They've lost three in a row.
But they are at home tomorrow night. They're minus one
twenty five against Montreal. How do you handicap this one?
Speaker 9 (01:25:10):
Well, it's really hard to go against the Canadians, you know,
right now? And yeah, the Red Wings, you know they've
what they've scored, well, they lost four or five, it's
just one goal in each of the three losses during
this loving streak, here's the way I play it. I
don't worry about the side. I worry about. You know,
i'd be targeting Layne Hudson, who's got a chance to
set the rookie record for the most consecutive games with
(01:25:33):
an assist. I think he's at nine right now. He's
been at plus money throughout the streak. So Layne Hudson
over half an assist I would play, and another guy
he's off the grid. But Joe Valento of the Detroit
Red Wings has five goals in eleven games against the
Canadians in his career. He has scored in both games
against Montreal. He was plus five or six hundred in
(01:25:56):
those first two games. I haven't seen a number now,
but I would be targeting. I would definitely be targeting
Joe Balano, smaller than Hudson. Hudson to me that that's
an absolute must. You have to play Lane Hudson, who's
got three assists in the two games against Detroit.
Speaker 4 (01:26:13):
To that end, any players that you've really been leaning
on when it comes to your betting, be it, you know,
obviously a point score, a goal, shots on goal, whatever
it may be.
Speaker 9 (01:26:24):
Not necessarily specific players. But you know, I tend to
target guys like I had Dawson Mercer tonight for a
goal against Boston because he's now got five goals i
think in three games against Jeremy Swayman. So I tend
to look for those types of numbers when it comes
to player crops. I'm really looking at, you know, how
(01:26:45):
player does against a certain team and specifically against the
goalie that night.
Speaker 4 (01:26:51):
Want to mix it one more, Dan, and we'll get
to the parlay. Yeah?
Speaker 9 (01:26:55):
Sure.
Speaker 5 (01:26:56):
How about Vancouver and Edmonton? Obviously with all the stars
that Edmonton has, those guys are live. It feels like
every single night to light up the scoreboard, especially against
the Vancouver team. Here Edmonton heavy favorite at home. Who
do you like in this one?
Speaker 9 (01:27:10):
You know, I think that if you if you take
a look at maybe a Leon dry Title at over
a point and a half, maybe that's the way to go.
I haven't I'll be honest, I haven't looked close enough
at the numbers yet on that game. But you know,
dry Title has done quite well in McDavid's absence. You know,
he I think he did score. He did score against
(01:27:32):
Washington Cup. You know, in the game on Tuesday night,
had just the one point. But you know, dry Title
has been the man when when Connor's He's been the
man all year, but he's definitely stepped up in Connor's absence.
So I would continue to look at dry Title. That's
the one the one thing that comes to mind for
me right now without having a chance to look at
(01:27:53):
you know, the head to head numbers.
Speaker 4 (01:27:56):
All right, let's get to a people's parlay here with
Jonathan Davis again. He is part of this couple of times,
and we have split his official show plays one and one.
The parlay is one and once. Let's see how we
can do here, Jonathan, looking ahead to tomorrow. Your favorite
play on the board, what is it?
Speaker 9 (01:28:13):
Well, I'm gonna go back to I told you guys
off the top of the show. We're gonna go with
the first period over in our first puriod goal in
the first ten in the Ottawa Boston game tomorrow. So
I mentioned that one is sixty seven and twenty. When
a team has been shut out in its previous game,
their next game has featured a goal in the first
ten sixty seven times.
Speaker 5 (01:28:34):
All right, Dan, all right, I'm taking this to college
basketball and we'll go West Coast again. Tomorrow night. Guys,
Let's take the You See Santa Barbara Gauchos plus eleven
and a half taken on You See San Diego tomorrow night.
My model says that this one is just the spread's
just way too big, that this should be closer to
like an eight point, which is a full possession. So
(01:28:55):
let's scoop that up and take Santa Barbara plus eleven
and a half tomorrow night, all.
Speaker 4 (01:28:59):
Right, So looking can have some different things across college basketball,
and boy, it's it's a funny one that I'm gonna
take us too. But and and we can chop it
around on the break so that we can explore all
the books and give you the best outs on the
other side. But I think I think I'm gonna I keep, like,
(01:29:19):
you know, go with your gut, I guess, because I
keep trying to pull away from it and find something different.
William and Mary basketball to cover the six and a
half tomorrow against Hampton is going to be my play,
you know what ultimately keeps taking me there. The Tribe
of one seven strade at Home Pirates have dropped four
out of their last seven on the road. Ultimately, the
(01:29:42):
tribe just to you know, they're they're shooting better thus far,
they're you know, a little momentum on their side, more
aggressive offense. Just you know, I'm not going to pretend
to know a lot about these two schools, but sort
of leaning into, you know, some of the stats of
late trends, box scores all that. I like William and
ma area to cover and it seems like a decent
(01:30:03):
enough number. So again, William and Mary minus six and
a half. Dan, you get two people? What's that?
Speaker 9 (01:30:11):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:30:12):
Oh yeah, yeah, William and Mary. Yeah. I wasn't confident
enough in one play. I'm gonna give you two, two options.
Jonathan Davis beautiful, let's do it. Jonathan Davis again from Vson,
hosts The Ice Cap Show over on Series XM NHL
Radio as well. Get them on Twitter at West Coast
(01:30:32):
h k Y Jonathan. As always, we appreciate when you
come by. We'll give people the best parlay odds on
the other side, and hopefully we can catch this thing tomorrow.
Speaker 9 (01:30:41):
All right, so let's hope we can make some money
for the listeners.
Speaker 4 (01:30:44):
Yeah, and ourselves.
Speaker 5 (01:30:46):
Sounds great.
Speaker 4 (01:30:47):
We'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (01:30:49):
Did someone jerk the people's parlay?
Speaker 4 (01:30:51):
If someone has to be the jerk. I hope it's
you or the guests. I don't want to be the jerk.
I don't want anyone to pray it to you. I
would like us all to hit all of our plays
every single night, but if someone's got to be the jerk,
I don't want to be the jerk. I don't want
to be the one that ruins it.
Speaker 5 (01:31:05):
No one's being that guy.
Speaker 1 (01:31:06):
Go with your gut and lock into Boston's only nightly
sports gambling show.
Speaker 5 (01:31:12):
Message to our listeners the second Adam asks a guest
about their opinion on his leg of the parlay. Take
the opposite.
Speaker 1 (01:31:18):
Great Gambler with Adam Kaufman returns now on WRKO and
the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 4 (01:31:28):
Great stuff from all of our guests tonight, and there
were many of them. Jonathan Davis from Veson most recently,
great stuff on the ice from him getting you ready
for a loaded slate on Thursday. Didn't get to every game,
not even close, but it's a lot going on. He'll
be writing his best bets out, putting out an article.
Make sure you check that out over on Vison's website
(01:31:51):
as well. Of course, we had Karen Grigian talking about
the Patriots coaching moves. We had our Philly and well
Philly and Washingtons commanders, deep Dive Jodi McDonald and Ethan
Cadou and much earlier on. Feels like a lifetime ago.
I say it all the time, our number one. How
long ago does it feel? Prop bet guy from a
(01:32:12):
CBS sports line. We're sweating out our people's parlay, trying
to get there that we built with people, that we
built with propbet guy for one Arkansas, as Dan mentioned,
crazy cash, happy to get that done. For Donaldson, he'll
give us another play for tomorrow obviously. But Andrew Wiggins,
he needs one more bucket help, one more point, could
be a free throw to get him in. For prop
(01:32:35):
bet guy. Dan gave out Buddy healed fourteen pras where
he sits right now. We need him at eighteen. I
gave you the Celtics to cover screwing around with the
Clippers right now they are leading by three, but we
need him by you know, twelve when all said and done.
But the second half basically just started. Long way to
go if we can get all that home plus five
(01:32:55):
point fifty eight. Speaking of parlays, we just built one
out with Jonathan Davis. I gave you William and Mary
to cover the six and a half, Dan your play
again for the people.
Speaker 5 (01:33:10):
Santa Barbara plus eleven and a half.
Speaker 4 (01:33:13):
And Jonathan Davis the first ten minute bet, I think
the first first ten minute bet we've ever had on
this show, and that was there to be a goal
to happen in the first ten minutes of the Bruins
game tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (01:33:25):
Correct. And it's tough to find as I've been shopping
this around. From what I can tell, DraftKings and Caesars
are the only two that have this up right now.
I could be wrong, but that's what it's looking like
at the moment. And plus four ninety three on DK
would be the best number for US. Caesars is Caesars
is four to seventy nine, and you don't get the
(01:33:48):
hook on Santa Barbara, so it's only plus eleven, all.
Speaker 4 (01:33:51):
Right, So plus four ninety three. Yeah, I don't know.
To your point, I don't know how many books. I'm
not as big a hockey better as I am some
of the other sports, where I might be a little
more familiar with the full menu, where you can get this,
where you can get that, right, the first ten minute
goal is that's kind of a new market to me.
Speaker 5 (01:34:12):
Yeah, I have definitely I've heard of this trend. I've
definitely seen Jonathan pumping it up on social media, but yeah,
I don't really know where to find it. Yeah, so
that was tough. And then like BETMGM had the goal
in the first nine minutes which was minus one thirty five.
But Jonathan straight it looks like it's gonna be minus
one fifty four for us.
Speaker 4 (01:34:30):
On dk okay unit and a half investment for us.
Got to bring this one home. Yeah, it's important, more
important than some of our other like minus one oh
five minus one ten the juice. Juice matters, folks. Anyway,
that's the play. So we'll load that into the action
app and I'll be available to you. Obviously, looks great tomorrow.
(01:34:52):
It's a Thursday, that means loads and loads of football
are deep dive into the Chiefs and Bills. We'll look
ahead to the Celtics late game as well, like we
did tonight, and we will of course give you all
the betting expertise, favorite picks, people's parlay all that for
