the hall. We're talking about greatbasketball, high school, college men's,
women's obviously, the slate of collegefootball this week, the NFL slate this
week. Love spending time with thefamily, and obviously, like I like

Black Friday guy, But I'm justsaying you all go enjoy Black Friday,

We call them Bebie noodles, andmy mother's noodles. She passed the

recipe down. Long story, Iwon't get into it because I get a
little sweaty in the eyes when thathappens. But Mom left us the recipe
in a very special place and said, if you're getting this tradition, I
have passed and you got. So. Yeah, so my mom's noodles,

you today. So and she hasto make enough for all the boys to

yeah, you know, for me, I was kind of a little bit
depressed because my brother in law fromTennessee that is a great cook, has

So I called my other brother inlaw down in the dumps and he said,
well, I'm deep frying a turkey, and he made my day with
that. My mother in law's chickena noodle, homemade chicken and noodles,
my mother in law's homemade oyster dressing, and then my wife and my mom's
deviled eggs. You can keep thecranberry sauce. You can keep the sweets

real quick, because we got togo pumpkin or pecan pie. What's your

what's happening. I mean, lastweek you and I were going back and
forth about a lot of games,including the Buckeye game, the thirty seven

to three win over Minnesota, whichwe don't need to spend a whole lot
of time talking about that. Butthe big topic that you and I were
talking about is this new age ofcoaches, the younger coaches and their decision
making and analytics and really bad clockmanagement. I know, lot of guys
I was texting were all just reallyfrustrated with guys giving up games and not

giving their players an opportunity to work. It's the worst I have ever seen
in forty eight plus years, Paul. And you know Ernie Adams, he's
one hundred percent on board with meas well as other older coaches, because
look, it's nonsensical. It's everyweek. And the thing is is analytics

can almost tell you to go dothat thing every time. If I'm an
ad I made a list. Itook the time to make a list of
those that I would be confident inright now that would manage the clock properly
situations, properly use the timeouts,and properly not chase points when you don't
need to. And they trump athleticswith gut feel and experience. And what's

sad this list stain't very long.No saving yep. Kirby Farens yep,
definitely, no question. Brian Kelly, Mack Brown, Dave Dorn, Mark
Stoops, Mike Gundy. I trustthese guys, Jim Harball, Kaylin de
Boor, Jeff Brown, Jamie Chatt, Chadwell, Mike Elko, you freeze,

They have to manage the game.Sonny Dyke's I'm missing a few,
but for sure the list has hasshrunk. And the segue into our Buckeye
game last week. My frustration forthe Minnesota Viking players at the end of
the first half, they punt upand pen him inside the five yard.
The Buckeyes are backed up with abouta minute ten left, and they're only

up thirteen points. It's third andmedium, they're on their own ten yard
line. PJ. Fleck doesn't callit time out, doesn't call timeout.
Then they got another third down andlong, like third and eight, third
nine, and now there's like thirtyseconds left. You still make them punt.
You block the kick. It's aone score game because the Buckeyes are
getting the ball to start the secondhalf. I mean, I sat there

and thinking, what in the hellis going on here? And that's the
kind of stuff. Yeah, I'msitting here at the studio. PJ.
Flex a head coach at Minnesota.I get it. But come on,
man, but you know as wellas I do. Trustill watched that and
what what the heck are you doing? Man? I taught you better than
that. And then and then Daygets the ball and they asked him about
it today on his show and said, what were your thoughts when you got

the football? And he said twothings. If we couldn't do anything on
first or second down, we werefine because we knew we were getting the
ball at the beginning of the secondSo what do they do? They tried
two plays and get absolutely nowhere,and they were horrible play calls and they
really lost their opportunity. Luckily,they got that ball back to start the
second half, and they pounded andpounded and pounded, and you guys know

what happened to start the second half. But I mean, I don't think
they handled that drive right. Iwill just say the thing that frustrated me,
it's always about the players, andat that moment, it was obvious
to me, let's keep this closeand get out of here and not get
embarrassed instead of what gives my guysthe best chance to win. That's what
upset me. For those Minnesota gofor players at the end of the first

half, well said, Well said, other than that, what in the
game do you need to highlight ordo you feel like you want to highlight
from from last week? Obviously thedefense starting to get takeaways. That's fun
to see, especially when they're celebratingand enjoying that. That's become kind of
a thing now in football, isthat when your defense does those great things,

you have those fun celebrations. AndI think they're figuring it out to
the point that they got flagged sowell we'll hit the Buckeye game first and
get it by and then we'll comeback to the college football playoff rank.
You coy, We're not going tospend time here. This is the only
thing that started that we said wewere hoping to see. Paul was a
fast start, and this was aslower start than the previous week thirteen.

Nothing at half. But let's startwith defense. I'm gonna call it elite
through the second, scoring defense byjust tenths of a point at nine point
seven or something a game. They'vebeen elite. Gave up three points,
allowed one hundred and fifty nine totalyards, outstanding, two defensive takeaways with
nine negative plays. We hadn't seenthe takeaways, and tremendous on third down,

and they are still not allowing explosives. That's what I saw. Offensively,
Kyle McCord has another good game,complete sixty seven percent, zero turnovers.
Kyle McCord distributed the ball. Youhad ten skilled players that had catches
in that game. The offensive linehas improved since Week one, There's no
doubt about it. Balance, they'renot allowing negative plays. They dominated third

down and we haven't said that alot this year about the Buckeyes offensively,
no turnovers plus plus plus the keyagain with big plays. If you're a
Buckeye fan, you love Travion Hendersonand what he's doing ten plus yards per
touch, He's gonna make you miss. That's Marvin may not be McCord's best
friend. It may be Travion Henderson, and we've talked to that. But

Paul the Buckeye seemed to be peekingat the right time. And for perspective
perspective, Kyle McCord has thrown fortwenty nine hundred yards at a sixty six
plus percent. He's completing two outof three passes, and he has thrown
twenty two touchdowns to four picks ineleven games. And if somebody told me
that before the year, I'm saying, I like Kyle McCord and he's done

his job. I only have onething that bothers me about McCord, and
I was telling Kirk this before yougot here. I don't feel like he's
able to lead his receivers for themto get more yardage. I feel too
many times that the receiver is waitingon the ball it's a fifty to fifty
ball, or they're turning around toget a football, but they're not able

to get a whole lot of yardsafter catch because he's not putting him in
He's not putting them in that position. Is that just my locker? Is
that you know? No, you'rea spot on Ernie and I talk about
that all the time. Marvel andHarrison, the other receiver's numbers are better
because the yards after catch because they'recatching it one foot in front, one
foot in front. He has struggledwith accuracy at times, and that frustrates

some Buckeye fans, especially people thatreally understand the game, because you're spot
on with what you said. Butif that's the biggest bang I can give
on the guy. He's managed.He's managed the football team to this point
to be an undefeated Jack Sawyer wasincredible in that day. Yeh bes game.
Gosh, she was so good.Let's talk about the CFP and the
rankings. Georgia, Ohio State,that team up North Washington. I feel

good about the top four. Ifeel good about the second four because most
importantly, coach, I believe it'sall gonna work its way out in the
next ten days. Your thoughts.Yeah, So, now there were nine
and the ninth, and the ninthis stretch, but things can fall out
that the ninth can make it unlikely. But there's a ninth. You got
Georgia is sitting there at one.I agree, you got Georgia Tech Alabama,

so something's got to give there.You got Ohio State with the game,
and then they're playing Iowa and peoplewill laugh. What my thoughts on
that next week if they're in thatgame, Michigan the game, and Iowa
if they're the winner Saturday, andthen Washington My opinion actually because it doesn't

matter right now. Washington should benumber two. Ohio State should be three,
Michigan should be four. And whydo I say that Because in the
in the history of this of theCommittee and the CFP, resume has mattered
most. No one has a betterresume than Washington this point, nobody,
I think five. They've defeated fiveranked teams F s U. I agree

with where they're at. Uh,They've got they're at the swamp and got
Louisville left, and then Oregon's gotOregon State and probably it will have Washington,
probably, but that's not a slamdunk. Texas has Texas Tech at
home and it still could be OklahomaState, Kansas State, or Oklahoma that
they would face in the championship game. Obviously, Alabama's got the Iron Bowl

this weekend and they're going to gettheir shot at Georgia. And then the
one that I asked for that's ninthis Louisville. They got the end state
game against Kentucky this week. Theyget a chance to play what's probably maybe
it is still an undefeated team inFlorida State. But the way it plays
out, Paul, I agree.You've got the game, You've got Alabama
playing Georgia. You've got FSU witha in state rival, and an ACC

championship with no Jordan Travis Sadly,You've got Oregon and Washington. Whoever wins
out is in. If they wentout there in and then Texas wins out,
they're probably in because of their headto head against Alabama. But I
will finish up with saying this,I agree with Paul Finebaum today. I
don't always agree with Paul fine baumb, but what he said today on this
one I agree with. It's hiswords where it's absurd that an undefeated team

deserves to be in the Final fourbecause of scheduling and resume. It's the
committee's job to put the best fourteams that they come to agreement on.
Who are the best four teams incollege football? Because what I agree with
Paul Feinbaum, you cannot convince me. I don't care if they get drilled
by twenty by Alabama. Georgia isby far one of the four best football

teams in college football. I don'tcare how the season ends up. Don't
care my opinion. And we're goingto find out how they feel about Jordan
Travis not playing for the rest ofthe season or playing it all ever in
college at Florida State. That wassuch a horrific injury and really has put
a big asterisk on their season.So we'll see what happens. It's horrible,

weekend. Let's talk about that WashingtonOregon State game. Oh my gosh,
what a mess. I mean.I went and looked and you had texted
me and said it's pouring down rain, and I said, yeah, I
knew that. And I went overto that game and I looked at it
and I immediately went and checked theforecast. It was thirty seven degrees and
raining sideways, not for ten orfifteen minutes all night long. That has

just gotta be miserable. So myintroduction to this game, it was a
dry, warm day in the PacificNorthwest. That it was not, that
it was not. The Huskies findanother way to win. Yeah, a
big penick Penix to roam, aDoonza throwing catch back shoulder, fourth and

three to finish that game with therain of coming down. They were plus
two. Washington was against a goodOregon State team plus two and turnovers with
three Husky defensive takeaways which which werehuge. They did overcome too many penalties
with a tremendous job on third downto get off the field defensively. But
credit to Oregon State d in thesecond half, DJ used legs. How

about that rumbling play where he's runningover people to get the sideline and the
fans back end of the game.And then obviously a good player and running
back Damien Martinez who did run forone twenty three, But turnovers and third
downs were too momuch to overcome forOregon State. But again it's like Washington,
we know Pennix is going to throwit and this wasn't his best throwing
day, and the weather obviously didn'thelp it. But some of those him

put it away. They find away each week to to win it.
I watch him play a lot,and I really enjoy watching his mom cheering
him on. I think that that'sbecome kind of a thing I think in
college football now with that's it's fun. Next time you see Washington, which
could be this weekend in the AppleCup or next weekend the championship game,

notice that they will show Penis's momshe's a good time. Arizona blows out
Utah. Coach, this Arizona teamis four bad plays away from being undefeated.
In the conversation, they are unbelievable. Right now, Utah goes on
the road now getting a fourth loss. Was it forty two eighteen Arizona and
you're right, you got an eightand three team. Jedfish absolutely should be

up for Coach of the Year.The job they've done. It's been a
long time since Arizona was competitive,but the injuries have caught up and the
lack of running game are haunting Utahright now. Arizona being one of the
best stories in twenty twenty three incollege football. In my opinion, I
say this name every week. NoahFafida another big day. Defense takes it

away and holds U Tah to onlythree point two per carry. You had
the Arizona punt return touchdown by AnthonyWard, so a big play in all
three phases there. But Utah strugglesto run and Bryson Barnes makes plays,
but he's got a trend of turningthe ball over, which he did again,
throwing it to Utah or to Arizonaa couple time. But Arizona takes

care of it. They pay,They have good play at quarterback. They
started fast, and they finished strong, so really impressive by the Wildcats.
I would love on New Year's Dayto watch Arizona play Missouri. It's not
going to happen, but I thinkthose are the two hot up and coming
teams that people in the country needto watch play because they're both phenomenal football

teams that have overcome playing against someof the best teams in America to only
be standing there at the end witha couple losses. I would love to
see him play each other and PaulI may be wrong, but I think
if the Arizona still has a chance, I think to be in the PAC
twelfth Championship at Forregan with stumbles thataccurate, that is correct. But we'll
see what happens Friday night. Yep. Obviously that's a big one. We'll

talk about that in a few minutes. Texas beats Iowa State twenty six to
sixteen. Big Twelve. It's atotal toss up, and right now anyone
can win the Big Twelve. There'slike twenty scenarios or something. Well,
here's the good news for Texas andnot about the CFP because they've got the
big win at tusclusive. But here'sthe good news for Texas that I see

as a coach. Quinn Ewers hasbeen really good in the fourth quarter all
year. He's been good in thefourth quarter, you know, because it
was a slow start for Texas,but a touchdown, a two point conversion
helped put the game away on theroad there late. Texas runs it okay
without Jonathan Brooks, but they're goodupfront on offense and defense. This is
the biggest part of their game tome right now, beyond yours, is

that what they have on both sidesof the line of scrimmage. But good
performances in this game by both coachesquarterbacks. You know, Iowa State has
gotten better. Rocko Becked has hada good few weeks. Seventy five percent
completion in this one. Three twentythree keeps him in the game. But
again Viewers does not turn it over. And another game with a strong finish

in the fourth quarter. If youappreciate physical rivalry games that are just you
smack me, I'll smack you again. Kansas State, Kansas delivered thirty one
twenty seven Kansas State wins. Itwas like a heavyweight fight. They just
they just bashed each other and itwent back and forth. And you know,
Kansas looked good earlier in the game. Will Hirard with that fourth quarter

touchdown to clinch a road rivalry win. It's hard to allow two thirty four
on the ground, Paul and getout gained and win unless the other team
does what turns it over? Turnsit over. Kansas gave it to Kansas
State three times, maybe just oneless one less turnover in that game,
Canda, the Jayhawks come away withthe win, but they didn't. Kansas

quarterback Cole Ballard only one sixty twopass and two of those were his costly
interceptions that helped Kansas State get outof there with a win. Georgia destroyed
Tennessee thirty eight to ten. Imean it wasn't even close. Well,
I mean it was at the beginning, and then all of a sudden it
just went. When they set twentyone in a row, twenty one straight
first play from scrimmage, I meanit happened. I turned the game on,

and I'm like, dang, yeah. Jalen Wright seventy five yard touchdown
first play from scrimmage, Paul,and the rest of the game, he
has fifteen more yards on eight carriesthe entirety. The team only has fifty
five more rushing yards in the game. Georgia, by committee, continues to
run the ball. Eight players touchit for one fifty six led by Kendall

Milton. Ut could not stop Georgia'soffense, allowing three hundred and sixteen yards
of passing. Uh and they didit without Lad mcconkee in this game.
Ross to me, Jack Saint BellBowers just those three two forty four touchdowns,
Paul, two things, and Ithink it's sad as strong an arm

as Joe Milton has, it's justhe ain't got it. Uh and he
doesn't have the guys on the perimeterthat Hendon Hooker had last year. I
understand that, But Paul Georgia,I've said this before, so I don't
want to beat a dead horse,but it is so impressive to me.
They are one of the best tacklingfootball teams I've ever watched play. They

don't miss tackles. And then thesecond thing is you're watching the most underrated
football player in college football. CarsonBack. Carson Back twenty four thirty two
ninety eight three twenty three touchdowns,doesn't turn it over, distributes the ball,
he can sling it, and hemakes good decisions. I'm serious.
Carson Back will play on Sundays.There's no doubt in my mind. There

you go. Missouri beats Florida thirtythree thirty one. Like I said,
Missouri is a blast to watch playfootball. They're fun. Yeah, where
is my Missouri versus What was thescore of that game? It was thirty
three to thirty one was the final? Yeah, I don't I know I
did that game. That's all right. Being know what. Missouri is really
good and they're really fun to work. Well, here's the thing about Missouri

is they've got they've got hold on. No, no, no, Paul,
that's that ticks me off. We'llmove on. But Missouri has a
good quarterback, they have a goodrunning back, and they have one of
the best receivers in the country inLuther Burden. And here's the thing in
that game with Florida, Florida's gotthem at fourth and seventeen with thirty eight

seconds to go in that game andLuther Burden catch from Cook converts, they
get the kicker out there, theywent it on a kick. Florida had
a chance to beat who I believeit is the third bet. I believe
Missouri clearly is the third best teamin the SEC this year. I do
believe. And their head coach isdoing a phenomenal job this season. There's
no question about that. Louisville beatsMiami thirty eight to thirty one. The

Cards survived, and that's exactly whathappened. Miami played probably their best game
of the season. Yes, agreat win on the road. Kevin coleman
Man beat her route at the endof the game. Late fourth quarter of
the two Miami defensive backs run intoeach other knock each other down great called
expecting man coverage. Jake Plumber distributesthe pass to twelve different offensive players in

the game. Louisville wins the hiddenyards. They're solid on special teams.
You had the fifty yard kickoff returnby Maurice Turner, and then Louisville creates
more negative plays defensively than Miami didto overcome what was the only turnover in
the game, which was the PlumberI in t Okay. Michigan beats Maryland
thirty one twenty four even without apassing game. Again, Michigan wins that

game. And I heard Coach Locksleytalking the other day, and I think
you felt like they had they shouldhave been able to win that game.
I really feel like you felt thatway. I thought I was watching what
was going to make Buckeye fans celebratebecause it just had the feel because the
way the game started, if youremember, Maryland couldn't get right. No,
they couldn't do anything right. Youhad the Michigan offensive touchdown, then

you had to hit on Tealia,which was a scoop score, and then
you had to punt block for safetyand you're like, man, this thing
is going to get ugly. Andthen here comes Maryland. It's twenty nine,
twenty four. They fight back inthe fourth quarter. Michigan's Mike Sanstro
had a big game. Two itstwo more Blake corm touchdowns for the Michigan
offense, but a very questionable andit was nothing but a judgment call on

the intentional ground and down there thatended in a safety to give Michigan a
seven point lead. But Michigan allowedfifteen rushing yards Paul, so there was
still a strangle hold on Maryland's runninggame. But Michigan on only won won
by seven, and that was withthree Maryland turnovers and two safety So this

was not their best day. Now, we talked about it last week.
Maryland doesn't fill the stands. It'sa lazy day there in Maryland. You
got the game coming up next week. You just came off a high at
Penn State and all the drama thatcame on a plane ride a happy Valley.
But the only concern here was isthe Michigan offense only average three point

three per rush. They need tobe better on Saturday, I tell you,
and I know, I know yourfriends with coach Locksley, he's got
that team one went away from sevento five and being in a bowl game
for four years in a row.He's rebuilt that program. Yeah, but
I'm gonna tell you right now,he's not happy with seven and five and
six and so he because he's hadopportunities this year that he I mean that

that game, the Northwestern game,he's got to be frustrated. He fully
expected to be one of the topfour teams in the league because of the
talent and having to Leah come backattack of Aloa to come back, and
that was a signature win that theylet it by. This past week,
Yeah, they could have got itdone. Maybe the biggest upset of the
season New Mexico State going into Auburnand dominating them, and an undefeated team

suffers the game day curse, youknow, the highlighting our quick here.
So sometimes in life for things togo right, you have to feel the
lowest of the low, and that'swhat Auburn fans and you freeze, and
that staff and those players felt like, now, let's give Jerry Kill.

I think they're nine and three.Paul. Yeah, but Jerry Kill and
New Mexico State. The Aggies justgot paid one point eight million to go
beat Auburn on the planes, andthat is unbelievable. New Mexico State ran
for two thirteen. The mighty AuburnTigers in the SEC ran for sixty five

yards. Uh. New Mexico Statesacks Peyton Thorn four times and uh they
double Auburn's total yardage. So thiswas a very tough day. And what
was shocking to me if you didn'twatch it, it's not the score.
They dominated the line of scrimm.They did both sides of the ball.
Uh. If somebody said, hey, New Mexico State's coming into to Auburn,

Alabama and they're going to dominate theTigers at the line of scrimmage,
I'm gonna say you got something wrongwith you. Whoever said that was right,
Well, Appy State and then theyturned around and take take out the
h the other undefeated team with JMU. They had game day there and Appy
