Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's time for a President's Day edition of What's trending.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
That's true, it is President's Day. We celebrate all these holidays.
But the question is do you even know why? Do
you know what this day or how it started? It's
President's Day, right.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
We have presidents. And then they were like, I bequeathed
that we need a day.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Yeah, it is second.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
Well, actually four score and seven meets ago, because I'm
president and there's been seven by this point.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
President's Day it was originally George Washington's birthday, which was
February twenty second.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
He made the day on his birthday.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Well, it was he's the first president, the father of
our country. Go down a rabbit hole and study George Washington.
But February twenty second is his birthday, and it was
celebrated on that day for a very long time. It
wasn't until the seventies, nineteen seventies that they're like, you
know what, let's make it the third Monday in February.
That way everybody can have a three day weekend and
take it off of February twenty second to them, right,

(00:57):
So thank you to our four fathers for changing it
to the third Monday of the month.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
You also want to little change it. It got changed
in the seventies. That's what I just said.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Our forefathers didn't want it to be on the first Thursday.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
I just did that because it was in presidential tone.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
I flow goes to the kindesta from Pennsylvania.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
But say what you.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Aside from the fact that it's a day off for
a lot of people, have you ever wondered how you're supposed.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
To actually observe it? Yes? Actually, like what are you
supposed to do?

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Well?

Speaker 3 (01:35):
So I so I asked chat GPT.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
So it says some businesses are closed for the day,
including you know, it's a federal holiday, but some people
can celebrate your favorite US president.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
Just pick which one it is and go for it.
Just pick one.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
I always say Ronald Reagan because young Ronald Reagan can
get it over. Why because his name's Cleveland. You can
watch a documentary about the potus. William Henry Harrison is
my favorite day. Why is that he was the shortest
president ever in office. Not shortest by stature, I mean
he held the office the shortest for how much time?

Speaker 1 (02:06):
I think like a month?

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Yeah, wow wow Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Because he made a speech after the inauguration without a
jacket on because it was very cold. But he'sn't just
being tough, and then you got pneumonia from it. Oh no,
and there goes his presidency.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Oh no, is that true? Yeah, that's the most awesome
display of hubris. Oh wow, it's like the old forefather
version of instant karma. Yeah. Well, that's what you should do.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
You should go around and spread all the random facts
about presidents that you know so people can be enlightened.
Because also it says to challenge yourself for somebody else
on presidential trivia, or name all the presidents in order.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
Ooh oh, that's part of it.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
And lastly, of course, there's all types of sales today
that started early.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
It's like Black Friday level sales, Best.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Buy, Amazon, you name it, go get a mattress discounted.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
William Henry Harrison was in office from March fourth, eighteen
forty one to April fourth, eighteen forty one, exactly exactly.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
I think that's great of them to do.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
That's let's make all of the sales on President's Day,
but then close the banks so no refunds will be issued.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
It's very American, well be American and that's what's running
