  • 🔥 Fyre Festival 2 is already a disaster—again.
  • 📍 TikTok wants to take over local business services in the U.S.
  • 🍰 Why you always have room for dessert (science says it’s real).

Fyre Festival 2: Another Scam in the Making?

🎟️ Tickets for Fyre Festival 2 just went on sale… but the Mexican island it's supposedly happening on says they’ve never heard of it. Officials in Isla Mujeres say no one has requested permits, and if you plug the festival’s website coordinates into Google Maps, it literally drops you in the ocean. 🚩🚩🚩

Local tourism director Edgar Gasca says, “This festival is not going to happen.” And honestly, after the first Fyre Festival disaster, why is anyone even buying tickets? (The Guardian)

TikTok vs. Yelp, Google, & DoorDash?

📍 TikTok is planning to expand into the U.S. local services market, meaning you might soon be able to book restaurants, travel, and services directly in the app. They’ve already done it in China with their sister app Douyin, and now they’re hiring U.S.-based employees to launch here. Could this shake up Yelp and Google Maps? Probably—because TikTok’s algorithm is unmatched when it comes to showing you things you didn’t even know you wanted.

Dessert Stomach Is Real 🍪

Ever feel too full for another bite of dinner but somehow still have space for dessert? That’s because dessert stomach is a real thing! Scientists call it sensory-specific satiety, meaning your brain makes room for something sweet even when you’re technically full. So yes, science says you should order that chocolate lava cake.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's time for Nina's what's trending. I hate to say this,

(00:02):
but I was wrong.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
The fire Fire Festival two is starting off on a
rough note.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Says you would have gotten in money. I was like,
you know, I want to give this guy a second chance.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
You really can't blow Fire Festival too because everything is
on you now, all eyes are you. You can't scam
people again, Yeah you can, but apparently this place the
event was supposed to take place on Isla Muhari's in Mexico.
So the local tour did I say that, I was
pretty good, thank you. The local tours and board claimed
that they have no knowledge of the event. It gets

(00:40):
worse because there are red flat So then if you
go to the website and you look at the coordinates,
which is supposed to take you to the island where
the event was supposed to happen, it actually drops you
on Google Maps right in the middle of the ocean
Cancun and the island. So I mean, you could be like, oh,
it's close enough, but the fact the fact that they
don't don't even know that it's happening, like, come on, Anima.

(01:03):
I know, I was really disappointed. I was I was
kind of rooting for this guy. You know, you want
to give people second chances.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
This is not a second chance. It's just like ninth chance.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Yeah, well, then can you get this one wrong like
you would.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
You're gonna do it right.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
If you got the eighth one wrong, the ninth one
should be the one you get correct.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
We're tickets on sale already, were people buying tickets. Tickets
were on sale. Oh wow, yeah, he's going back to jail,
back to jail. He's got to go back to jail.
Oh man, there haven't.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Been no, no reports of any permits that have been
even requested.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
And they're wow, so expensive.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Fourteen hundred dollars, five thousand dollars and twenty five thousand
dollars of tickets. Or man, I would have got got
because I wanted to believe in it so much.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
I was like, this is going to be like going
to heaven.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Nope, if you did it again, he's he's definitely gonna
go back to jail.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
So I'm sorry, that's kind of funny. Crazy. That sucks
for him and everybody that bought tickets. But you're in
this one. No, no, no, He learned.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
He was only accidentally involved in the other one to
be honest like he was. He was hoodwinked, just like
just Pornina here. Hey, yeah, you thought for sure it
was going to work out.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
I just, you know, I wanted to give people a chance.
But it turns out they don't change, no, not when
money's involved, for sure.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Well, meanwhile, there are other people to get inspired with money,
Like TikTok has decided to expand here in the US
beyond just the TikTok app that we know and love.
So it looks like they want to compete with companies
like Yelp, Google Maps, and door Dash, and they want
to expand and have a US based thing here with
employees to build out the new division that's going.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
To be able to deliver to you.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
It's going to be able to give you access to
things like Google Maps and reviews and all of that.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Why don't you just go to Google Maps?

Speaker 2 (02:46):
I just I don't know how this is going to
look like what happens? Like you go and you have
somebody being like, okay, so here's my makeup plan. But
if you want to go, you know, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Well, actually I think it makes sense.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
So they have the TikTok shop right, Yeah, and so
what if you can do TikTok shop filter near me?

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Oh, and you can go get the products.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
No, and then then they contract the drivers to come
bring it to you.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Yeah, this actually makes sense.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
I think that's why when they started building out the
TikTok shop feature, I didn't think they would stop at
what Instagram did, which is just buy stuff online through
the app. It makes complete sense to go into the
real world. Plus, then they cement themselves here in the
United States, and politically speaking, that's what they need to
do to stay alive in this country.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
That's cool too, because then it can help local businesses,
small businesses that are trying to grow, and then you
can have access to them immediately.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
Well not only that, just imagine you're right, imagine though
that like these local businesses who wouldn't get seen using
a billboard totally totally gets seen on a for you page.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Yes, it's costs a lot of money to do that. Yeah,
that's very helpful. Interesting. I like that. Spin it makes sense.
And he's got a skincare line, small business. She is
excited about that.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
I'm excited because they don't have a lot of money,
and so marketing is key.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Okay, lastly, I'll leave you on this, so when you
go ahead and say yes to dessert tonight. No, that
dessert stomach is real. Science is backing it. And it
doesn't have to do with your stomach actually expanding to
make room for dessert. But it's something called sensory specific satiety.
So when you crave that dessert, your body wants it,
needs it, so.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Just eat it. Yeah, life short, Yeah, desert.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Also, sugar is highly addictive, so your body could be
lying to you.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Well, I say, like, you can go for dessert fruit
sugar with some fiber anyway, just so you know. And
that is what's trending.
