Grandpa Sneakers Are Now High Fashion

Dust off your grandpa’s orthopedic-looking sneakers because GQ says they’re officially cool. New Balance just dropped a new line called Allerdales, and they look straight out of a retirement home—but somehow, they cost $250.

This is the second time GQ has written about them, first hyping up the brown version and now the white. So if you see someone rocking what looks like a nurse-recommended shoe, just know—it’s fashion.

Blake Lively surprised fans over the weekend when she was spotted working behind the counter at Rise Doughnuts in Wilton, Connecticut.

She shared a pic of the shop’s industrial-size mixer on her Instagram Stories, saying, "Baking with genius food friends… This is what my happy place looks like."

A local dad and son even had a hilarious encounter with her, with the dad telling his kid, "Her husband is Deadpool."

Fyre Festival 2 Changes Locations—With Just Two Months to Go

With only two months left before the highly questionable Fyre Festival 2 is supposed to take place, organizers have changed the location. Instead of Isla Mujeres, Mexico, the festival will now allegedly happen in Playa del Carmen.

A supposed list of 40 performers is expected to be released this week, but so far, the only confirmed act is former NFL player turned rapper Antonio Brown. Yes, you read that right. Considering the disaster of the original Fyre Festival, let’s just say… proceed with caution.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Give us three minutes and we'll give you everything you

(00:01):
need to know for the day with Nina's what's trending.

Speaker 2 (00:03):
So it looks like Grandpa fashion is turning into Grandpa's fashion.
What granddaddy? Oh yeah, grand Saddy, that's cuter. I was
trying to figure that one out. Thank you, grand sety fashion.
So GQ was really trying to make this happen, and
it is Grandpa sneakers. So if you think of like
New Balance, they've kind of had the Grandpa sneaker going
on for a while. It was making come back. But

(00:25):
there is a pair I'm wearing New Balance day. Actually funny,
but there's a pair that is specifically the ones that
they're trying to really make get off the ground. They're
called the Era. What are they called air does Allardales, Collardales,
I don't know if I'm pronouncing that correctly, but Allardales
and they go for two hundred and fifty dollars. So

(00:46):
funny part, Wow you balance it? Yeah, New Balance is.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
What are we talking about.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
They're described as downright orthopedic and this is coming out.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
You know that sounds great?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Sounds HU Magazine's seaper than doctors. I guess I wonder
if there's some kind of deal here, because GQ has
actually written multiple articles now about these particular sneakers to
try to really make this grand Zaddy thing happen. I mean,
I think it's very possible. I mean, what was the
Grandma fashion was kind of a thing for a while,
so it's only about time that grand Zaddy.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Is the thing too.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
If you're trying to get these just for the comfort
I got, you go get some what are the doctor
Schole sneakers? And they're only like one hundred bucks and they.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
They are hundreds.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
Well compared to these are too.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
What are you people out here paying for shoes? No?

Speaker 1 (01:38):
I like it. I don't buy shoes in this at
least five hundred the same ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
And I'm like, if it's not under fifty I'm out.
I won't need that.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
In this economy. You can't find any shoes under fifty bucks.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
You're wrong. I just found something this weekend eighteen dollars
and ninety three cents. What shoes did you buys? I'm
not going to give out free plugs of these businesses.
I'm famous.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Anyway, So if you get in on that, then you
are super in fashion. Grand ziady, do you bow the
stories for you? I would love to see your thoughts.
So Blake Lively maybe working on her image since the
whole It Ends with Us drama, which we've been covering
since it started now. Over the weekend, she went and
was volunteering at a donut shop. She loves to bake,
and she's been about that on her social media.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Take credit for all the donuts they baked, you know
over the shop. She made claims about the owner and
other like strong arm him into giving her the shop.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Everybody, But I don't think they're wrong. She was donuts like.
She wasn't just working the counter, she was making the donuts.
I'm sure there was the Blake Lively donut. I don't
know for a fact wrote the recipe for the day
nuts and then she she wrote it.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Well.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Some people were thrilled to see her out smiling. Other
people are like, Okay, this is just trying to distract
us from what's really going on, you and your donuts.
So I didn't realize that could be that much.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
My negatives been on it, and I'm like, I told you,
if he doesn't let her, she'll have Taylor Swift like
boycott her Yeah, you have her fans, boycott his donut shop.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
She will has the real story. And lastly, another story
we've been following is the Fire Festival too, So we
were talking about it last time we talked about the
Fire Festival. Listen, this may actually come along, may actually.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
CARDI only one who believes that.

Speaker 2 (03:46):
Well, we got to see it has a new location.
So last time we talked about it, it was a
pin drop in the middle of the ocean near Mexico.
Now it's going to be Implia del Carmen and this
week forty entertainers are supposed to be announced. But don't worry,
Antonio Brown is still scheduled to be there.

Speaker 4 (04:02):
I got the last place.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
There's some former NFL player that's now a current rapper.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
I thought the last place that they had planned it
to be at the location didn't even know it was
happy there, Like, so I.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Does anyone checked with Carmen? Anyone checked with.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
The artists that are supposed.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Former player right, sounds a lot like a replacement for
the last time.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
I do feel better though that they've got a different location,
so there's still hope for this to get pulled off.
I just want to see it happen like I just
want to. I just want to believe.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
I want you to go to it.

Speaker 3 (04:36):
You have to go, Yeah you do.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
If he does, if they started selling tickets, you have
to go.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Okay, no problem, I'll cover it for the show. I
got good memories there.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
We get a call later saying that she's sleeping.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
In a tent, food, a trailer, Mexico or nothing. I
don't know.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
No, no, no, no, this one's gonna be different Fema and
I might not be around by then, so you're gonna
have to have a tent.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
No, there's hotels and pliadel Carman, have you been there.
There's a little cute boutiki hotels everywhere else.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
But you're knowing you you'd buy the package that get
to the hotel that hotel, a tent outside of the attel.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Had no idea whatstle. No, I've never heard of it.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
I'll find my way to a hotel. But don't you
worried anyway? That's what's trending. I can't wait. I'm so
going
