Netflix Brings Back Star Search
At their latest Upfront presentation, Netflix revealed plans to revive the classic talent competition Star Search as a live event. Originally airing from 1983 to 1995 (with a short revival from 2003 to 2004), Star Search helped launch the careers of stars like Britney Spears and Beyoncé. Netflix hasn't released a premiere date or any casting details yet, but the live format hints at a modern, interactive twist.

Star-Studded Original Films on the Way
Netflix also announced a major new project called Here Comes the Flood, a high-stakes heist thriller starring Denzel Washington and Robert Pattinson. Another film, Fight for '84, tells the powerful true story of the 1980 plane crash that killed members of the U.S. Olympic Boxing Team. Jamie Foxx will portray the coach tasked with rebuilding the team for the 1984 Olympic Games.

Hit Series Are Returning
If you're a fan of Bridgerton, get ready for more drama and romance—Netflix is bringing it back, along with The Diplomat and The Four Seasons. While no official dates were shared, all three are confirmed to return with new episodes.

AMC Slashes Ticket Prices for the Summer
Starting in July, AMC Theatres is cutting movie ticket prices in half every Wednesday for AMC Stubs members (which is free to join). The deal applies nationwide and even includes premium formats like IMAX and Dolby Cinema (though surcharges may still apply). There’s no set end date, so this could be your new mid-week movie tradition. The move comes as box office numbers surge and theaters aim to keep the momentum going.

Star Search is going to be bad bringing it back?
What Star Search coming back? Starsars like the original American Idol.

Wait, but they're the thing before American Idol.

It's basically America's Got Talent because they do a lot
of things. Yeah, yeah, it was like America's Got Talent
and they could go do whatever. But I think there
were a lot of celebrities that were actually on that show.
Don't Beyonce do Star Search at some point?

I don't know why. There was a lot. Why bring
it back though, Why just go to America's Got Talent?

Because Netflix wanted to have their own and the way
that they're doing it is it's going to be live
on Netflix. So it's yeah, they're going to do like
live live.

I see netflixs been starting to do a few live things.
They are also doing live like WWE. I don't know,
like you could do live anything on Netflix.

That's all. That's the difference between Star Search and the
other ones. Actually we actually found stars on that show. Yeah,
they did.

The problem with this though, is that other shows have
already tried to do the American idol thing, like I
don't know the voice and it doesn't work.

Like it's not gonna work. It's just they don't blow
up as like they used to.

I feel like I wonder if it's just like oversaturation,
you know what I mean, Like you can't pump out
stars like that and have them be accepted the same
way without having like the music, the story, like all
that stuff to go with it.

Yeah, I feel like nowadays, just like it's not like
people can go like make a staring made on TikTok,
like it's right, not the same.

Who's gonna host it though? Adam Sandler, yes, do you voted?

Never let me host Star Search. I would love to do.
That'd be so cool. I don't look the part.
