In this episode of Nina’s What’s Trending, we break down two new studies—one about the science of vacations, the other about global profanity.

First up, researchers say the ideal vacation is exactly eleven days long, costs about $800 per person, and happens roughly three hours from home. Sounds relaxing, but also wildly unrealistic for most Americans. The team debates whether anyone actually has the time—or budget—for a getaway that fits those criteria.

Then, new data reveals that Americans top the world in swearing online, with one curse word appearing every 3,000 words. The UK follows closely behind, but do cultural definitions of profanity skew the results?

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Give us three minutes and we'll give you everything you
need to know for the day with Nina's what's trending?

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Did you take advantage of the three day weekend to
get away a little bit, maybe giving you a little
taste of vacation. Well, science has stepped in and is
letting us know the perfect amount of days that you
need to have the perfect vacation. It's eleven days and
three hours from home.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
Bro, who is trying to take eleven days off? That's more.
That's more vacation. It's more than vacation days I do have,
says the girl who.

Speaker 1 (00:25):
Has taken, over the course of a year at least
thirty days off.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
There's stupid concerts.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
It's not stupid. They're fun first off.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
And there's not eleven days at a time.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
I don't know why you're getting mad though. That's just
like the perfect amount. And if you aren't taking yet,
that's all right. You can aspire to have eleven days
in a row.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
I like the three hours from home part.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Three hours from home and it costs eight hundred dollars
per person.

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Who has that much money to spend?

Speaker 4 (00:52):
That's a lot, it's a lot. Wait, why are you spending.
It's only eleven days. It depends.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Like everybody's perfect vacation is a thousand books. I mean
at the.

Speaker 4 (01:03):
Hotel you need to do.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
But like, who has the money to do that? It's
easy to rack that much money up.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
But well, if you save your money and you save
all your days, you can have eleven days in a
row dollars and go just three hours from home.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Now that's sad. Why ten grand three hours from ten grand?
I'm in Europe?

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Yeah ee hours from home?

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Yeah, eleven days, I'm in Europe, right, Oh, thank you.
But to each their own thanks to science, that's what
it is. This is something that we can be proud of.
It just made that I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Yeah, they just look at the economy.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Stay there's there's somebody else that was working in their
lab pretty hard. Because it's something that US Americans can
be proud of, and that is that we swear the
most out of any country in the entire world. We
swear the most good job. Recent study good Shot says
that around one in every three thousand words on an

(02:07):
American website is a swear word. UK ranks second at
around one in every forty two hundred and then of
course when we're speaking, we say more. So this is
somebody that went through three hundred and forty thousand sites
and found that we are the worst time we're the best.
I mean angry people.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Someone had too much time on chat GPT. They didn't
actually go through thousand.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
Yeah, man, I don't knows. Sorry, I would have thought
it been the UK me too. They have dirty back
like the English person. I know, they swear like crazy.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Actually they do say people that swear the most are
the most intelligent, so I'm cool with that.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
But who did they base this on, Because a lot
of people in the UK don't consider some of the
words they say as swear words. So if an American
did this.

Speaker 4 (02:53):
It was an Australian.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
What the researchers were Australian?

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Well, then how do you know what's to swear word?
What's not a swear word? Like I feel also people
think swhere words like a.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Different area in different places mean you know, sar wards
hit different you know.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Well, if they're doing the research and calling themselves doing
like researchers, then they should know, right, I mean not really,
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
I don't know if that's true or not. Like Victoria.
Trivia is a bad word for her.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Hey what that me today? Well you can go on
her too. It's her social again, Victoria.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
It's Victoria Ramirez. There you go.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
That's what's trending.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
All right.
