Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's always a reason to feel good before five in

(00:03):
the morning. It's ninety seven point one wash FM because
it's a new day, and yes it's April Fools Day,
but no full And I'm feeling good this morning because
my daughter texted her mom and I last night.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
To tell us that she got to raise at work.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Oh no, I'm like, you know what, at a time
when they tell you no to increase is more often
than not, and when jobs are getting doged left and right,
to find out that in the retail world they gave
a college kid a raise, even if it was just
a little bit, to me is a win. So I'm
feeling good for her this morning. And I hope that

(00:37):
if she has to transfer to come home for the summer,
that the raise follows her.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
And I'm thinking it well, because it's one big company.
That's awesome.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Anyway, We're Toby and Chilly in the morning at eight
six six nineteen seven forty three sixty one.

Speaker 2 (00:49):
Chilli, why are you feeling good this morning?

Speaker 3 (00:52):
Well, honestly, I just I'm feeling good because even though
I didn't get a lot of sleep, I have more
energy than I probably should.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
Sleep is in port. You know, last night I went
to that lot. We do.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
But it's because you know, we've both had revelations about
sleep in our personal lives that mean something to us, you.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Know what I mean, Like that if you don't.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Get enough sleep, then it starts to do things to
your brain which I won't get into, but overall health
and wellness, you can't get well if you don't sleep.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
And like last night, I went to.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Bed early, and I got up like at eleven fifty
five in the evening thinking I was late for work,
and I'm like, oh, wait a minute, no, you know,
so I hope you go and you get a nap today.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
If you can.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
There's no school again today, oh Fairfax County.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Ooh, but my son has rehearsal for his show that
he's in in school, so that'll that'll get him out
of the house just a little bit for me.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Otherwise, no rest for the weary.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
You're gonna be pulling a Toby falling asleep in your
car in the garage or something.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Oh no, no, no, I can't sleep in those random
places like you can.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Yeah, trust me. I don't know that. Thanks rather or not.
That's another conversation for a therapist.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
But I take the sleep when I can steal it,
you know, so hopefully I want to doze off today
during the show. That might have happened yesterday while the
microphones are off between Chili and Hi a little bit.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
But that's a different story for a different time. It's
ninety seven point one. Watch f M. Thanks for waking
up with us. I hope you're having a great day.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
Tell us why you are, or maybe if you need
us to help you turn it around, tap the talk
back microphone.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Reach out to us. Coming up in minutes. The news
Top stories at the top of the hour. What's up?

Speaker 3 (02:28):
An air traffic controller facing charges after being part of
a fight at Reagan National.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Airport, Bikes details and minutes. Good Morning.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
Top Stories.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Top of the Hour.

Speaker 3 (02:45):
Top story is presented by Celsius Energy Drinks. The President
is expecting five trillion dollars in US investments after his
tariffs take effect tomorrow against Canada, Mexico, China, and the
European Union. They are mainly targeted at car and car
part manufactured car parts rather that are manufactured outside the US.

(03:05):
An air traffic controllers facing charges after allegedly being part
of a fight Reagan National Airport It reportedly took place
last week in the Air Traffic Control Tower. Officials in
Arlington they're planning to increase security at the Pentagon City
Mall after a series of weekend fights. Arlington County Police
say that patrols are going to be increased around the

(03:26):
mall and also off duty officers are going to maintain
a presence there on weekends. DC leaders are hoping that
the cherry blossoms will be turning into even more green
than they did last year. We're talking about green currency,
and data from last year shows at the National Cherry
Blossom Festival led to more than two hundred million dollars
in spending from visitors, and rumor has it Kelly Clarkson

(03:51):

the seat in the show's fourth hour. And according to
new research, one hour of screen use in bed cuts
our sleep time by twenty four minutes, and even worse,

(04:12):
it actually raises the risk of insomnia by fifty nine percent.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Forecast for today not quite.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
As warm as yesterday, Bartley cloudy, breezy eyes in the
upper fifties right now forty five and Bethesda, Toby and Chilly.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
In the morning, ready to check on you and your
mindset coming up in minutes. Don't move. Maybe we can
help you to turn your day around if you need it.
Coming up and a few really are the reason that
we get up in the morning. Here at ninety seven
point one WASHEFM, And that's why we think of you
when it comes to this your morning mindset.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
So what is the quote that you have found that
you think is going to get us onto a better headspace?

Speaker 1 (04:47):
Well, here let me say this which Toby and Chilly
in the morning. It's ninety seven point one WASHEFM, the
station that cares about you? And that's why we found
this quote from Lloyd Grenier who says entrepreneurs are willing
to work eighty hours a week to avoid working forty
hours a week.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Let me say that again.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Entrepreneurs are willing to work eighty hours a week to
avoid working forty hours a week. So what does that
mean other than maybe you're thinking, well, it's just.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
A lot of time, and I don't want to work
eighty hours a week. I'm not living to work. That's
not it at all.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Oi Gereneer is trying to say that hard work driven
by passion never feels like a sacrifice. So where do
you stand in the entrepreneurial scare? Are you willing to
work eighty hours a week to avoid forty hours a week?

Speaker 2 (05:32):
That alone is on you.

Speaker 1 (05:34):
Loi Grenier, thank you for the words to inspire this morning.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
That is your morning mindset.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
If it helps well, you can share with someone who
might need to hear it just.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Like you did.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
You can find it on the Toby and chilipage at
washfm dot com. Now stay with us because coming up
in just a few minutes on this April Fool's Day.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Okay, do you ever get the munchies or hungry in
the middle of the night, And if so, what is
your favorite midnight snack to reach here?

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Yeah, I just waved that off last night.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
I told you I got up a little bit earlier
and then I went to the kitchen.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
I said, no, I just need water.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Okay, good for you, but that's not always the case.
We'll talk about it coming up eight sixty six ninety two, seven.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
Forty three sixty one. If you want to jump in
right now.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
Question for the class this morning, what is your go
to favorite late night snack. You know the munchie's hit
in the middle of the night and you get up
out of bed and you think, well, I'm gonna get
something to drink, and then you look at the fridge
and you're like, well, let me just open that and
see what's in there. Eight sixty six nine two seven
forty three sixty one. Talkback microphones also open if you're

(06:36):
signed into your iheartup and you want to join our
conversation this early morning yere at ninety seven point one
was Chef m Chilli. You're not a midnight snack type
person because typically at midnight we're asleep.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Well yeah, but I mean, let's say the weekends, like
we have more of a normal schedule.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
I'll tell you what I wouldn't be eating.

Speaker 3 (06:53):
I wouldn't be eating something heavy, like a rack of
ribs like Chrissy Teagan says that she does.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
Yeah, that's going laca besa.

Speaker 4 (07:01):
That is a bit much.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
But in the movies and TV, you know how they
make themselves a sandwich and it looks so good.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
Sure that's too much labor.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Yeah, that's too much work.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
If I can reach in and grab it, then I'm
okay with it, Like when I used to have midnight
snacks more often than I do now because I try
not too. It's just not good for me when it
comes to health. But boy, those oreos were convenience.

Speaker 4 (07:24):
Oh okay, something sweet, no, I know, for like some
cold Chinese.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
Food, Yes, cold Chinese.

Speaker 1 (07:30):
See, I'm the kind of guy who believes you gotta
warm the Chinese up and the microwave doesn't count with Chinese.
If it's in the little to go, like the little
Chinese to go boxes, I'd have to put that over
the skillet, you know what I mean, and that becomes
too much labor. Oreos you can just grab a handful
and go home. And then, by the way, they don't

(07:52):
cause that whole acid reflux thing.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
That's the worst. I used to get that when I
would have midnight snacks. Stephanie, good morning in wood Bridge.
Midnight snack. What's your go to? Tell us? Everything? Definitely Chila.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
It's quick, satisfying, and I just I don't have to
do much to prepare it.

Speaker 3 (08:09):
If I'm feeling frisky, I'll just throw some cheese on
top of it. Well, chips is also probably means you're
gonna drink a lot of water, which then well, then
you'll be getting up so many times in the night
to go to the bathroom.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Yeah, with acid reflux because I used to eat those
nachos and chips and salce in the middle of.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
The night, and oh now I need toms fill up.
Good morning in and Chevy Chase. So what's your late
night snack?

Speaker 1 (08:34):
All cereal can never go wrong, and you can put
bananas to it and enjoy and go.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Back to bed.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
Banana is actually a good addition because the potassium can
improve your sleep quality.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
But isn't that too laborious? You have to cut up
a banana in the middle of the night.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
Well, if that's too much work, I can't help you.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Eight six six Night two seven forty three sixty one.
If you want to jump in and tell us all
about your favorite nighttime snack, your midnight snack, we would
love to hear what it is for you. Talkback microphone
also works to feel free to jump in where Toby
and Chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven point one
wash FM Top Stories at the top of the album.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
