Speaker 1 (00:00):
Tilby and chill me in the morning on this April
Fool's Day, Can we introduce you to something new here
at ninety seven point one, why, chef m Well, it
may not be new to you. You might have heard
of this brain swarming thing. It's different than say, a
brain storming session, right, so brainswarming. If we were to
just quickly sum it up, chili okay.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
In a brainstorm everybody is in a room and you're vocally,
verbally kind of shouting out different ideas, okay, And in
a brain swarm session, you're silently writing down on a
piece of paper different ways to tackle a goal, and
then you put it up on a vision board and
then you try to come up with a solution. Does

(00:37):
that make sense?

Speaker 1 (00:37):
It's based on ants, they say, the way ants work
to solve a problem. Brainswarming, which is interesting because brainstorming,
it's always the loudest voices in the room, you know,
that tend to dominate, yes, and so other people don't
really get a chance to say anything. And that can't
be good because there's not supposed to be any bad
ideas when it comes to anything that involves the brain

(01:00):
in a new idea.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
So it could also be that those people just don't
feel as confident or comfortable speaking up because they're afraid
they're going to be judged for their idea, Whereas if
they were to just write it down and it's put
up there, you don't necessarily know who it's coming from,
right right, right.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Well, and that's it, you know, And there is something
to be said about that, because I do think that
that judgmental thing really does kind of I mean, even
if you are very confident, you know you're one of
those loud engaged people in a brainstorm session. The fact
that you know other people might be saying something or
whispering something behind behind your back or under your breath,
that can disarm you. And that can completely will derail you.

(01:38):
I shouldn't say disarm you. It can derail you when
it comes to coming with ideas because then you feel
very insecure about them. But to your point about brainswarming is,
you don't know where it came from. It's just an idea,
an idea form that has discussed in idea form, So
I can see why that might have some sort of
strength to it.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
You know, Yeah, And it's more structure to do brainswarmingession
it's not just quieter and it's it's they're saying it's
better suited for deep problem solving without a groupthink effort too.
But right, we've got actually a more detailed description on
our page. If what we're describing doesn't click it makes
sense to you.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
But here's here's the bottom line the TDLR. If you
go to work and you don't like brainstorming meetings for
whatever reason, try brainswarming. And if you're not really sure
what brainswarming is and you want to recommend it to
your boss, go to the Toby and Chili page at
washiffim dot com, copy and paste it or printed out,
slid it under the boss's door, and then silently see

(02:37):
what happens, and hopefully, hopefully good things will come. We
always love hearing about those good things too, So feel
