Speaker 2 (00:05):
Ninety seven point one wash Chef, FIM, Toby and Chilly

feeling good today? The numbers eight sixty six, nine two,
seven forty three sixty one. I challenge you to call
in and tell us one reason why you're feeling good today.
Talkback microphone counts too, because it's wide open if you're
signed in listening on your iHeart app Chilli, Why are
you feeling good this morning?
Speaker 3 (00:25):
I had an incredible date with my son last night.
We tried to do that whenever my husband has to
work late, and it was very lovely. We had dinner,
we went to get ice cream. We bought his first
bubble gum. He's learning how to blow a bubbles with
a bubble gum. It's the little face when you're a kid.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
When you're a kid and you learn how to do
the bubble thing and you blow a bubble, it changes
the entire gum experience.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Yeah, so now I'm bringing this up also because the
one we bought yesterday wasn't great, so he and I
are kind of them. It was Hubba Babba, so it
wasn't the greatest thing for him. So I think we're
gonna try what's that other brand? It came like in
a bag and it was like shredded. Does that make sense?
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Big League chew? I was gonna say that was that
was the baseball thing to have big league chew in
your back pocket when you were playing baseball and you
chew gigantic wads of it, because then you could go
spit it out, and that was the thing back then.
I guess I don't know, not that I'm condoning any
(01:33):
anything kind of a.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Little get whatever, but that's gonna be the next one
we rate big league.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
What about you? What's bringing you? I was early to
something yesterday.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Yay.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
It's little things like that. I was early. There's a
there's a catch though, there's a butt. But it was
in my calendar wrong. And this makes the second time
this week something's been in my calendar wrong. So I
roll up early to check in for like a brain
scan because you missed it. I had a TVI once
upon a time and they were like, sir, we're closed
(02:07):
the appointments today, but I was early. You were early?
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Okay?
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Yeah, Well, you know there was something to be said
about being there. No, I went to go have a
scan done and then I'll roll up early and they're like, sir,
we're closed. I'm like, oh, well, at least that was early.
So you got to find joy in the little things.
Why are you feeling good this morning? Give us a
call in the meantime, stay there because coming up next
with Toby and Chilly in the Morning, have.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
You ever stayed in a house or visited a place
that had spirits ghosts?
Speaker 2 (02:37):
Apparently you have, and we'll talk about it next. That's
my Scary series Morning. It's ninety seven point one watch FM.
Toby and Chilly in the Morning. Producer Taylor Shea is
convinced that her house is haunted.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
No, no, no. An apartment she used to live in
was haunted.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Oh well, it was a domicile and there were supernatural
spirits of and she's convinced they were from the grade
beyond unsettled. Therefore they were hanging out in the house.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
Well, we also found out that she's not the only
one that has had experience with the spirits.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Like Mike in Rockville. Mike, you've had some experiences with
the supernatural, you know, your place is haunted? How tell
us everything?
Speaker 3 (03:19):
All?
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Right?
Speaker 5 (03:20):
There was this time when everybody was gone and I
was here and walking in the hallways like but but
there was nobody there except for me and the dog,
and the dog was beside me. And then another time,
like I got up and it was three am. I know,
I know, three am, and like there was this shadow
that was moving and it was not the wall, and
I said, hey, and it just like evaporates. I don't
(03:41):
know what that was.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
Man, Oh my god, Mike, I would have evaporated to
bye bye, Jeff and Arlington.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Go ahead, you've had an experience with a ghost? You
know your place is haunted? Do tell?
Speaker 5 (03:53):
I just hear these noises at like from a place upstairs,
like I have an addict, I have footsteps, I hear sons,
I hear voices. It's really scary. And secondly, nighttime, there's
some kind of movement going on in my room.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Okay, I don't know what it is.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
When I cut my light off, it stops when I
cut my light off.
Speaker 5 (04:16):
I hear these constantly papers moving.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
So that's really really creepy. Oh hell no, I'll be
sleeping with that light on forever.
Speaker 2 (04:24):

Speaker 3 (05:06):
So what is the quote you're going to share with
the rest of us?
Speaker 2 (05:08):
This comes from doctor Henry Link says we generate fears
while we sit, we overcome them by action. Doctor Henry
Link says, we generate fears while we sit, we overcome
them by action. If you sit around and you do nothing,
nothing gets done. There is no progress that's made, there's
no moving forward, there's no moving backwards. It's just complacency,
(05:33):
and if you want to overcome that which leads to
fear complacency, take action today on something anything that you
need to act on. Generate fears while you sit. Overcome
those fears with action. Keep that in mind today. Hopefully
it helped and if it helped you, maybe it'll help
somebody else. You can find it to Toby and Chili

taxpayers and for married individuals filing separately, the standard deduction
is rising to fifteen thousand dollars. That's up four hundred
dollars from twenty twenty four, and for couples who filed jointly,
that standard deduction will be thirty thousand dollars, which, by
(08:23):
the way, is an eight hundred dollars jomp. Former propaying
company employee is now facing charges for a deadly house explosion.
This happened in Sterling back in February. Loud County investigators
say a pro paye leak caused the explosion that killed
a firefighter and injured nearly a dozen other people. Hundreds
of union workers and community groups that have formed the
(08:44):
Fairfax County Jobs Coalition are showing their support for an
entertainment district and casino proposed for Tysons. The project would
create thousands of union construction jobs and also lead to
upwards of one hundred and forty million dollars in annual
tax dollars for schools and county services. The lottery for

getting underway ten o'clock this morning. Applications are being accepted
through October thirtieth, and those who are selected will be
notified by November eighth. Finally, according to a recent survey,
grandparents on average are shelling out nearly four thousand dollars
a year on their grandkids. Sixty three percent make financial
sacrifices for their grandkids' happiness, and twenty six percent of
(09:32):
grandparents live more conservative conservatively rather to be able to
help support them. Forecast for today, another beautiful day, sunny eighty,
the high right now forty seven in Ashburn.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Grand Inflation is a thing. Toby and Chilly in the morning.
We're coming up next. Chili is a little concerned about
a day that should be very joyous, not a day
that should be anxiety inducing.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Well, it's about my son's birthday. Guest lists.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
Listen to the and maybe you have some things to
offer Chili to help destress her when it comes to this,
and we'll find out why she's stressing too. That's in minutes.
Eight sixty six nineteen seven forty three sixty one is
the number. Use it any time. Remember you can always
jump into any conversation you hear with Toby and Chilly
in the morning when you call eight six six was
(10:20):
FM the number one eight sixty six nine two seven
forty three sixty one. And there's this high tech thing
called talkback. If you're signed into your iHeart app, you
see a microphone, you press it, you send us a
voice note. It's amazing. Now, Chili, you were mentioning you're
feeling some stress about something that should not be stressful.
What is going on?
Speaker 3 (10:39):
My son is going to turn eleven on Friday, and
that's amazing, and we're gonna have a little party for
him at this location on Sunday. And when he was younger,
and I think you remember these days when they're super young,
you invite potentially the entire class, So like twenty twenty
five kids, and if a couple of the kids who
are I SPP he don't show up, guess what, it's
(11:02):
not that noticeable right, this year, we're only invited six
of his friends.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
Oh you threw the more the merrier out the window. Correct,
you screwed?
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Now, well, financially we're not screwed.
Speaker 2 (11:13):
No, no, no, But like they say that there's like
a ten percent rate of return on any kind of
invitation to a party, Yes, which means if it's ten
percent of six, oh lord, they go, we know what
he there? If they follow that perceed that that say though.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
That ten percent is people who are SVP. These people
have said yes, so six, So you know they're okay. Correct,
But you know life, life happens when you have little kids.
So my fear or my worry is, for whatever reason,
between now and Sunday, a couple of those kids parents
can't bring them, they can't come. So if even one
person doesn't show up on Sunday, Donato's gonna feel some
(11:53):
sort of way. He's gonna be like I thought there
was gonna be you know, so and so do Where's Joey?
And I'm wondering if it would be for me to
reach out to the moms of these six kids who
said they're coming to just be like, I just want
to make extra sure that you're going to be there,
so I can at least warn him if you're not
going to be there.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
And thinking about this story, I was trying to think
of different ways to help alleviate your anxiety. But here's
the truth. M h, that's just the hoot, nanny.
Speaker 4 (12:19):
I know.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
The bottom line is be direct, be truthful, get on
the phone and say, hey, you're still coming, right, hey,
just making sure you're still coming. There's nothing wrong with
being directed, to the point, because then you now have
time to prepare your son in the event, because no
son wants to be the only son at day birthday party.
(12:40):
Nobody wants to be the only person at their birthday party.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
Believe me, if he's the only person at his birthday party,
he's not the only one crying. I'll be right there
with him.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Kelby and Chilly's nearly impossible question.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
Today's question is every year, there are about forty quadrillion

that question correctly, here it is one more time each year.
Speaker 3 (13:09):

perfectly legal since it is on private property. Fairfyx County
Public Schools is launching a nationwide search for new principle
of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology after
the current principle announced plans to accept another role in

to increase diversity, and according to a recent survey, parents
think that kids are the most creative at the age

Only get three minutes to say goodbye to a loved
one as you're dropping them off at the airport at
the curb side, that's true.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
Yeah, good get them out of the way. I'm thinking
about BWI at Thanksgiving. It's a nightmare of the traffic.
It's backed up to like ninety five and if you
know how far that is, it's not pleasant. Do you
know what that means? Lots of time you could be
late to your flight. Keep it moving, okay.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
So if it's somebody that's gonna come right back into town,
I agree with you. Like all of that takes is
a few seconds, right, Like I get out of the car,
I give them a quick hug.
Speaker 2 (16:33):
See you when you get back right.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
Well, what if you're saying goodbye to somebody that's overseas
or that you're not gonna see you for a while.
Do you think three minutes is not enough time to
say goodbye at curbside?
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Well, you know, Chili, there's a thing called hourly parking,
you know, And and if you're fast enough inside you
can get away with it for free. But at least
you're not stopping traffic. I mean, that's just no bueno
to do that.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
I hate goodbye, hate goodbye. I get very emotional, so
I tend to do those long goodbyes at home and
then do the quick see you later something.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
You're part of the team, aren't you, And tell me
if I'm wrong. You're part of that team that folds

Speaker 3 (18:36):
Specifically, I'd rather do with my friends than my significant other.
Case in point, was recently invited to like a theater
preview of a show at the Kennedy Center. Okay, And
I will never take my husband to go see musical
theater or any theater. He's not a fan and that
is something that he will ruin for me with his attitude.
(18:57):
So I just take my friends as a plus one.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
You know, I was thinking about this. Would I want
to go and see something like The Rockets with friends?
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Probably not, you wouldn't want to, But there must be
something that you probably enjoy doing with a friend as
opposed to with your.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
There's a whole lot of things. Sometimes just sitting in
the living room watching whatever I want to watch, doing
absolutely nothing, or going out to certain places that I
enjoy that maybe aren't quite her bag if you know
what I mean. Yeah, yeah, I'm talking about bars, talking
about places like that.
Speaker 5 (19:32):
You know.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
I'm just if I feel like I want to go carousing,
you know, yes, And that's.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Not a bad thing. You know, my husband doesn't complain that.
He's actually happy that I take somebody else instead of him.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Now, if he were to take friends to a Caps game,
would you be upset?
Speaker 3 (19:48):
I wouldn't be upset, but it would annoy mean a
little bit, because I'm a genuine fan.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
But if he said, I just need some time with
the boys, the fellas.
Speaker 3 (19:55):
That's totally fine.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Okay, interesting thoughts. What would you rather so do with
friends that you just won't do with significant other? You
know the number? Give us a call, tell us what
that might be for you, and why that's for bonus points?
Tell us why because we love hearing that too. Probably
makes us for a great story. We'll get to it
