Speaker 1 (00:01):
There's always the reason to feel good first thing in
the morning, because it's a brand new day. Today would
be no exception. We're Toby and Chile in the morning.
It's ninety seven point one wash FM. If I might
have the honors, Chili, I can tell you that I'm
feeling really good today because just out of nowhere, over
the last day or two, I've never felt I've never
felt so not alone before. You know, I've had like
(00:24):
a bunch of different things going on in my personal
life and whatnot. I don't want to get into details
on them because I'm not trying to bring the room down,
but you know, what just feels good is to have
people in your life who randomly, either that you've lost
contact with or that you're in contact with every day,
who are like, hey, are you okay? I know this
is a lot that you're going through. Is this are
(00:45):
you doing all right? Just out of nowhere, you know, unsolicited.
There's just something about that feeling of not being alone
which is just joyful, and I'm just very thankful this
morning for that.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Well talking about is that you actually matter to somebody.
That's a good feeling. Well, you never know, you know
what I'm saying that you go through life, you kind
of do what you do, you show up and all that,
but you never truly know. I mean unless you get
to attend your own funeral. But you don't get to
you don't get to see how much you matter to people.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
Right, And it's and it's just been like lately and
it's kind of been out of nowhere, and it's not
like some of these people know some of the stuff
that's been going on with me personally.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
It was just a very random checking in with you
having to be good timing.
Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yeah, And it just feels good because there are times
when I have felt alone dealing with it and that's
never fun because it can lead to other things. But anyway,
so that's a good feeling this morning, something that I'm
finding some joy in before five.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
What about you, I don't really that's a really good one.
I'll just stick with yours today. Well, this is a
competition of why it's really good, but I get it.
You're right, it is nice. It is nice to know
that that people care.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
It's unexpected, so do something unexpected and check in on somebody.
Maybe you've been thinking about today.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
And apparently this is another reason this is great. Someone
who was listening to our show yesterday when we were
talking about the most random things that I guess your
pets beg for. Uh huh, someone's on the phone and
they had some thoughts on that conversation.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Stay there, we'll get to that next. With Toby and
Chilly in the Morning, Welcome to Tuesday. In case you
missed it, yesterday with Toby and Chilly in the Morning,
we were talking about our pets and the very bizarre,
strange things, not treats, other things, because pets begged for
the darnedos things that your pet might have begged you for.
We share ours.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
And apparently you guys have a lot of unusual pets
as well.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Bug collor Hilly, Hi there, good morning. How are you good?
How are you good? But what's your name? And where
are you from? So what's on your mind?
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Me?
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Know how you guys are talking about pet?
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Well, my cat likes to pack my feet, he likes
to bite him and then.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
She runs around in circle and he likes to bunk
his head.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Oh okay, Well, maybe your cat needs to get checked
out for maybe a neurological condition.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Might have some sort of a cat fetish you've never
heard of before.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
So, Cindy, if you're wearing socks, does your cat still
bother you? Or it's the bare feet that your cat wants?
Bare feet? Yes, take those socks off, mama. Maybe he
also likes peanut butter.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Pean and peanut butter boy must be a fun time
at your house, ma'am. Yes, it is.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Well, thank you so much for sharing that with us.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Bare feet and peanut butter. That's just just okay. I
have no words. We're Toby and Chilly in the morning.
It's ninety seven point one WATCHEFM. I me know who knew?
Eight six six three sixty one is the number. If
your pet begs for something very bizarre, call us and
tell us all about it. We love laughing at our
pets and we would love to laugh at yours along
with You. Can also use the talk back microphone on
(03:57):
your refreshed Diehard app. If you're signed in tap speak,
send us a note and stay there. Your morning mindset
for this Tuesday is on the way weekday. Morning's right
about now. We stop and we think about you because
you're the reason we are Toby and Chilly in the morning.
It's ninety seven point one watch FM and your mindset
being the best that it can be is part of
you being the best that you can be, and that's
(04:18):
something that concerns is. So we find a quote and
hopefully today's will help.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
So which one is it?
Speaker 1 (04:25):
What is it today? From Chris Grosser who is a
business leader and entrepreneur and then he's become like a
motivational speaker. He says, Opportunities don't happen, you create them.
Opportunities don't just happen if you're waiting for an invitation
that will never come. A colleague of mine and a
boss wants used to say, well, that's the truth. Opportunities
(04:48):
aren't just going to fall out of the sky for you.
Sometimes you've got to go and create those opportunities, especially
if you're not happy with the way things are. So
remember what Chris Crosser has to say. Opportunities don't happen,
you create them. If that helped, then maybe you want
to share it with somebody who needs it. You can
find it. It's on the Toby and Chili page right
now at washchefm dot com. That's your morning mindset for
(05:09):
this Tuesday, the fourteenth day of January and coming up
next to entertainment news. We call it show biz buzz Chilliamar,
what are you working on?
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Well?
Speaker 2 (05:18):
The performers have been announced for President elect Trump's inauguration,
including an American.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Idol find Out More and Minutes Don't Go Anywhere, Toby
and Chili in the Morning. It is ninety seven point
one WASCHEFM. Welcome to Tuesday, January fourteenth. Time for some
entertainment news. We call it showbiz buzz Chilli, take it away.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
Carrie Underwood has been announced as one of the performers
during President Trump's upcoming presidential inauguration, along with Village People
and Lee Greenwood. She apparently is going to be performing
America the Beautiful at the event on Monday. The announcement
of this year's Oscar nominations is being delayed once again
(06:00):
because of the wildfires in southern California, so now they're
going to be revealed on January twenty third. The Oscars
are still scheduled to be held on Marked second. Now,
the Grammy Awards they're still scheduled to take place on
February second, despite those wildfires, but the show will now
be used to raise additional funds to support relief efforts
(06:22):
and honor first responders. Ben Afflex, Brentwood Home and neighborhood
was visited by the FBI and police. It's part of
an investigation into unauthorized drone activity during the fires. Agents
were apparently looking for potential security camera footage of a
private drone that had damaged a firefighting aircraft. Recently, Jessica
(06:43):
Simpson is getting a divorce. She and her husband, Eric
Johnson have been together for fourteen years, married for ten
of those years, and they have three kids together. And finally,
congratulations to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his
wife Brittany. They just welcome their third child, a daughter.
They named Golden Ray. Golden joins sister Sterling and brother Bronze.
(07:08):
And that is your showbiz buzz.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
They were fruitful and multiplied. That's right. Congratulations song involved.
Hope both mom, dad and the baby are very happy.
Coming up in minutes. More news top stories at the
top of the hour. Stay with Toby and Chili in
the Morning. Glasses and Choices Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
It's ninety seven point one WASHEFM. If we take it
back about three years, that's when I found that I
(07:33):
had to get glasses for the first time in over
twenty because I had Lasik. Well, Lasik wear is off
and I didn't really pay attention at the time, but
I should have anyway. It's ninety seven point one wash
chefm at eight six six nine two seven forty three
sixty one chili. Now you and I both wear glasses.
Is making decisions on frames always this tough because I
am so stuck after getting my eyes checked last week
(07:55):
on what frames I want to get. It's almost like
a strange paralysis.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
I will tell you there's something fun about getting frames,
and there's something daunting about it because it's a wall
of options. It's like a cheesecake factory menu. They all
look good, but you don't know which one you want right.
And I'm the kind of person that tries on no
less than twenty different frames, and I have somebody I
never do. I always have one of their people guide
(08:21):
me and give me feedback on what it looks like
on my face before I can ever come to a decision.
So are you stuck between a couple of choices or
are you completely lost?
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Well, if you look on the Toby and Chili page,
at washeff and dot com account. How many pictures that
I just posted on Instagram?
Speaker 2 (08:36):
It looks like there's seventeen photo.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
Yeah, there's a ton of them, and that's that's just
the ones that made the cut for that whole lot,
that whole what's it called photo rolodex.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
I've seen you in here with different styles of glass.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
I have three distinct different styles. One is the transition lens,
one that I don't really do so well with. Another
is a different style that's not transition, that changes color,
that's based on the light, you know what I mean,
Like it's nobody, it's clear when it's dark out, it's
you know, got some sort of tent. Then the other
one is just straight up you know. But the John
(09:11):
Lennon looking right on today, right the ones.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
I think that there are some people and it sounds
like you're one of them, that you have glasses for
different occasions in life.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
Yeah, you have to. You have to because you just
never know. And you seem to be the person to
me who just has one pair of glasses and that's
it and you just stick with them. How do you
get to that point where there's just one.
Speaker 2 (09:33):
Well, there's just one but then every two years insurance
will cover frames. So every two years I change my frame,
but I stick to the one frame. Does that you know?
So next time I'm leaning towards being a little more
adventurous and going towards like a little cat eye situation.
Oh yeah, we'll flip on the corner like a little
angle things.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
I understand that's in for spring. According to the advertisements
I read, this used to be just so much easier.
It used to be just so much easier. Why can't
we just have the team wu of frames where they're
all inexpensive. You can get all the ones you want.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Because we'd be crashing into things. It would not be
very good. It wouldn't be seeing in front of our faces.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
That's actually a really good point, now that I think
of it. Shelby and Chilly's nearly impossible question yike six
nineteen seven forty three sixty one is the number. Let's
play the game and learn something new together. What's the question?
Speaker 2 (10:20):
So survey says twenty one percent of eighteen to twenty
seven year olds have no idea what this tool was?
What is it?
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Survey says Kylie Minogue at Capital On Arena in April.
The tickets could be yours. Here's the question again.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
According to a survey, twenty one percent of eighteen to
twenty seven year olds have no idea what this tool was.
What is it?
Speaker 4 (10:41):
All?
Speaker 1 (10:41):
Right, there's your nearly impossible question. If you know the answer,
call us now, get it right, win those tickets to
see Kylie Minogue. But we all win because we all
learned something new together. And that's the point of the
game too. So call now, let's learn what's the answer?
You're up. It's ninety seven point one WASHFM. We'll find
out coming up and see Toby and.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Chilli's nearly impossible question.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Christine Alexandria hanging right now to play the question one
more time? Is what there? Chilia?
Speaker 4 (11:08):
Are?
Speaker 2 (11:08):
Twenty one percent of eighteen to twenty seven year olds
have no idea with this tool was used for? What
is is?
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Christ You say a wrench? Do you know what a
wrench is? There? Ma'am?
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Yeah, I'm an architect and and when I was younger,
I helped my dad build his house, so I know
I know all the tools.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
Well, congratulations of wrench is the right answer, you know?
But these eighteen to twenty seven year olds don't.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
You know what that means, ma'am.
Speaker 4 (11:40):
That means they need to stay off their phone more.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
That's true, that.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Too, and you're gonna go see Kylie Minogue Capital One Arena.
Thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
You are so welcome. Congratulations. I bet you're very handy
with that wrench. Thanks for playing with ninety seven point
one wash FM Toby and Chilly in the Morning. Well,
we've got more Kylie Minogue tickets Capital One Arena in
April tomorrow morning, and we've got the news in minutes
top stories at the top of the hour. Hang out.
Thank you, Hey, good morning, Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
(12:10):
Ride here on ninety seven point one wash FN. Thanks
for waking up with us in Washington's variety from the eighties,
nineties and today. Question for the class at eight sixty six,
nine two, seven, forty three sixty one or when you
hit the talk back microphone, just tap speak and send
a voice note. If you're signed into your eyeat, ipp
will come here to the studio in Chili and I'll
get it. Tell us about something you've lost in your
home that you just can't find. And the reason why
(12:33):
this is a story is there was something that turned
up that was lost back in the seventies, like in
the wall of a house somewhere, And it's just it's
crazy how this is the cases this ever happened to you.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Nothing that was in the wall the house. But I mean,
just this past Christmas, I bought a friend of mine
one of those neck fans. She's going through paramenopause and
menopause and getting overheated, and it's a nice little gift
and I cannot remember where I put it. And I'm
supposed to have lunch with her in two so I
have two weeks to figure out where in the house
(13:03):
I stowed it away.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
When you asked the question to me, what's something you've
lost in your home that you can't find, I'm like, well,
let me count the things.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Well, you're always coming across things that you've lost, But
is there currently something that you're still looking for?
Speaker 1 (13:16):
There have been any number of things, but the to
narrow it down, the one specific thing is there is
a black MacBook that I think I had, and I
think I misplaced it in the garage. I say I think,
because I'm probably wrong, But nine out of ten times,
if I find something I thought I misplaced. It's in
the garage of all things pack rat.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
How long has this laptop been quote unquote missing over
a decadelks.
Speaker 1 (13:42):
They don't even make them anymore, I know, but it's
still It would be just refreshing to go, oh, there
it is. I haven't seen you in a decade. How
did this happen? Can't be the only we can't be
the only people that have lost something at home that
we can't find. Maybe you can relate, so you can
tell us everything. Eight sixty six nine two seven forty
(14:03):
three sixty one makes for a good story. We won't
feel so alone. We won't judge. You can tap the
talk back microphone too. Okay, maybe a little bit like
Chili said, but I'm gon try not to ta have
the talk back microphone to tell us. And we'll circle
back on this coming up in just minutes here as
Toby and Chili in the Morning continues. But if you
hang out for a few we've got another one of
your crazy first date stories. You've just got to hear
(14:23):
a Chili. This is from Devin and DC.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Yeah, so she ended up in the hospital and coded
on her date.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Wait till you hear what went down? And what became
of the couple.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Next, it's Toby and Chili's crazy.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
First date inside the District. Devon is here with the
story for Chili and I go ahead. We're listening. What's up?
Speaker 3 (14:45):
So I met this guy at a party one night
and we really hit it off. We ended up going
on a date a couple nights later. We had food,
we were watching a movie at his and I started
getting this really bad pain in my stomach. But I
wasn't gonna say anything about it because I was like, uh,
it's first date, Ja, it's a kind of embarrassing.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
I'm not going to say anything.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
It ended up getting worse and worse, and I passed
out in his room. When I woke up, he brought
me to the hospital and turns out I had a
freak accident. I was internally hemorrhaging. It's really scary. I
didn't have like any friends or family in the DC
area yet I ended up like they called a code
on me. But he called off of work and stayed
with me the whole time. It just was like terrible,
being in a bed, looking like what's your favorite color?
Speaker 1 (15:25):
It's like the worst first date ever.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
That was very cool that he stayed with you. Did
you guys ever get a redo? Like did you see
him again? Like hospital food, the dinner dejure of the date? Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
Yeah, we ended up seeing each other like a week
later after I healed up and we've been dating for
over a year now.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
I basically watched you die and come back to life. Yep,
exactly day.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
Did you know? It was like something inside of her.
It's like, you can't let this date end in scrubs.
Speaker 3 (15:58):
Yeah, they all thought he was that's my husband.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
They're like asking me medical questions.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
Oh yeah, they do that from time to time.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
And you guys are still together.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Yet we made it official like I think a week later,
like the next time we saw each other.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
Well, yeah, i'd make an official too. Hey, listen, after
all of that on the first date, this is a thing.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Hey, if you've got a crazy first date story, it
could mean tickets to go see Mary J. Blige a
Capital one arena in March.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
That's right chilly. So if you're listening right now and
you've got one, tell us everything at eight sixty six
ninet two seven forty three sixty one. You can also
tell us at washfm dot com slash Crazy don't forget
a brand new crazy first date story yours Thursday morning
around seven thirty five and the news tough Stories at
the top of the hour. That's on the way next.
You lost it at home and you just can't find it.
(16:43):
Tiby and Chili in the morning. It's ninety seven point
one WASHFM. We were talking about this a few minutes
ago because Chiley and I were reading his story about
a Christmas gift from seventy eight, nineteen seventy eight that
was found behind the wall of a home in Illinois.
That's just crazy, but is it? Because I will tell
you what is something that you've lost in ass Like
I said a few minutes ago, let me count the ways. Yeah,
(17:05):
but the most.
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Shocking one that you said you still haven't found is
an old MacBook.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
Oh yeah, I lost it. Yeah. I don't even know
where I put that. I think it's in the garage.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
And that's crazy to me.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
I will say that I'm excited I found a wallet
that I didn't know I had because I started using
my passport wallet that I has placed the normal wallet
and I found it. So now I get to go
on board that wallet again. Who knew? I thought it
was gone forever.
Speaker 2 (17:29):
Yeah, but you can't really think it's lost if you
know for a fact it's under your roof somewhere.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Robert, good morning, and thank you for listening in Fairfax.
What's something you lost you cannot find?
Speaker 3 (17:40):
I left my.
Speaker 4 (17:41):
Wedding ring somewhere in my house about five years.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
Ago and I still haven't found it to this day.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
I don't throw anything out without thoroughly infecting it to
make sure it's not in there.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
Robert, the wedding ring, yikes.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
As long as it didn't go down a drain, I
guess it'll show up some point.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
We're at eight sixty six nine two seven forty three
sixty one. Talkback is wide open on your refreshed Ieheart
app Chili. You were saying you have two weeks to
find something that you lost at your home and can't find.
What is it?
Speaker 2 (18:08):
Again? It was a gift for a friend. I bought
it and I thought I put it with all the
other Christmas presents, but alas it is not there.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Lucy, good morning in Germantown. Would you lose that you
can't find?
Speaker 2 (18:20):
We're listening, Oh my KEYV remote. It always goes missing
and no matter how many times I check under the
couch cushions or behind the furniture, it just somehow disappears.
I spend what feels like an hour searching for it,
only to find it.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
In the most random spot, like under a pile of
laundry or on top of the fridge.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Sounds to me you need to get one of those
trackers that you can stick on the back of the remote.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Yes, and then use the find my app if you
do the Apple iPhone thing, but I think they have
one for Google too. Use that and use it liberally.
You'll never lose anything again.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Maybe your mind. Toby and Chili press the more music,
but at eight forty over three hours corcial free. Next
on wash your Thumb.
