Speaker 2 (04:55):
Then I had to Google.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
I didn't realize that Roomy is this ancient philosopher type.
But Roomy says, the breeze at don has secrets to
tell you.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
Don't go back to sleep.

Speaker 3 (05:07):
The breeze at dawn, that wind that you feel in
the morning, has secrets to tell you.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Don't go back to sleep.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
That's a really amazing thing to consider the fact that
there are things you will learn in the morning as
the sun comes up. While you sit there, you enjoy
your coffee, You listen to the breeze as it blows
through the wind chimes. Maybe you have those on your
deck or out back on a patio or a porch
or something. Don't go back to sleep, because if you do,
you'll miss the secrets that dawn, that life has to

(05:38):
tell you. Roomy, the breeze at dawn has secrets to
tell you. Don't go back to sleep. Listen to those
secrets today. Let them speak to you and guide you.
Hope that helps, and if it did, share it with
someone who might need to hear it too. You'll find
it to tell me. It's terllypage WASHFM dot com. That's

her heart and she really wants to reconnect with that
part of herself. So Ariana said she's going to continue
making music, but it's not going to be like she's
been doing it for the last ten years. Remember Rachel
Reagan Gunn, that viral breakdancer during the Paris Olympics. Well,

(06:42):
she has announced her retirement from competitive breaking, and she
says it has a lot to do with the fact
of all the attention she received for her performance. Jennifer
Lopez responding to her ex husband Ben Affleck's praise after
he called her spectacular for her performance in the movie Unstoppable.
That's a project that she stars in and that he

(07:03):
co produced. At the film's UK premiere, j Lo returned
the compliment, saying I would describe all the casts and
everybody behind the scenes as spectacular and wonderful. And Kristin
Cavalari is now exploring dating after she split from Mark Estes.
On her podcast, she shared her preference for an older,
non celebrity partner with a vasectomy and says that her

(07:25):
next serious relationship could potentially lead to marriage. And that
is your showbiz buzz.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
Nice to know she's got it all down to a t,
but perfected down to the big V the visectomy.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Wow, who knew? That's called planning.

congratulating him on his election victory and also invited Trump

(08:16):
seventh Congressional district in the US House, which is grounded
in Prince William County and stretches south to Fredericksburg. Two
women facing charges in Montgomery County for an alleged murder
for hire plot. Police a fifty three year old Adelaide
Chacoone of Germantown, was allegedly trying to hire someone to
kill her ex boyfriend. The US Capitol Police Department is

(08:39):
now giving us a little bit more information about the
suspect who was arrested while carrying a flare gun and
containers of a celerrant to the Capital on Tuesday. Investigators
say twenty eight year old Austin Olsen was carrying a
letter that expressed his views on violence in the Middle East,
as well as a document described as a manifestos. You're

(09:00):
being warned about street closures ahead of this weekend's National

Speaker 4 (09:28):

a chance of maybe an isolated shower otherwise seventy seven
The high right now sixty one in white Planes.

Speaker 3 (09:37):
Turbis heads that missing deadlines can undermine your quality of work?

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Buddy? Is that true? What do you think?

Phones are open now at age sixty six nine two
seven forty three sixty one for you to share your thoughts.

Speaker 2 (09:50):

Speaker 3 (09:52):
You don't need to have like a time clock or
somebody looking over your shoulder tapping on your shoulder reminding
you that something is due. Do you or is the
converse true? Thoughts? What do we think about this? Let's
have a conversation. DC coming up at eight sixty six
ninety two seven forty three sixty one. Is Toby and
Chilly in the morning continues on this Thursday.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Next, good bud of it.

Speaker 3 (10:15):
Thanks for waking up a ninety seven point one wash
FM deadlines. What is your take on these deadlines and
perceptions that come if you're constantly late? Eight six six
ninety two, seven forty three sixty one is the number
of talkbacks wide open two. You've got to be signed
into your iHeart app to use it. If you don't
have an accounty, it's free. Get it at your favorite

(10:36):
app store and join the conversation.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Now, Chilly.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
This comes up this morning because there's a study going around.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
Even if you turn in a perfect report flawless report,
if you turn it in late, if you missed your deadline,
that work of yours is perceived as inferior. Not only that,
but you, as an employee are perceived as being incompetent
and untrustworthy.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
And by the way, it's important to point out that
both of those are lumped into one right, So the work,
no matter how great it is, is considered to be bad,
and you are a bad employee because you missed a deadline.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
I don't know how I feel about both of those
being together as one thing.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
You know, because things happen, well, I.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
Get deadlines are there for a reason, and I am
all about meeting deadlines because in my mind, well, that
person's answering to somebody else too. They're asking that of
me because they're under some sort of pressure. What really
gets to me is when it's an unrealistic deadline. I
needed it yesterday or I need it in an hour.
Then I'll be like, I'll get you something in an hour,

(11:45):
but it may not be perfect in an hour.

Speaker 5 (11:47):
Does that make sense?

Speaker 3 (11:47):
They don't judge me if it's not my best work
because you're asking me to turn and burn.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
Huh.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
And here's the other thing. Conversely, I believe this, and
this is not a slight on anybody. I think you
have to have universal rules for certain reasons. Yes, but
when you hire, you know, like Michael Jordan, you didn't
manage Michael Jordan the same way you manage Scottie Pippen.
You didn't manage you know, you don't manage the quarterback

(12:13):
for the commanders the same way you would manage the
previous quarterback for the commanders. You know what I mean?
Each person brings different things to the table. Some people
can miss two days of practice and be able to
be great with whatever others can't. So I get that
there are people who perform better with or without a deadline,
but you don't really hold their feet to the fire,

(12:35):
so to speak, and like crack the whip on the
deadline thing. I understand that there are some people like that,
if that makes sense.

Speaker 5 (12:41):
Yeah, But at the.

Speaker 4 (12:41):
Same point, I'd like to be able to rely on
my employees to get me stuff when I ask them
to get it for me.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Well, sure, and that's just what it won't get done.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
If I know that you're going to get it done
and I know it's going to be great and you
need to take that extra time to do it. I'd
rather have great stuff that I get maybe a day later, unless,
of course, there's something really super we're important depending on,
in which case I would make that clear. Yeah, as
a manager up front, But that's just me on the
complete opposite side of this study because personally that's how

(13:10):
I feel, and I get that, you know that's not
for everybody.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
You just can really share how she's like.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
You know what, Hey, I want you to know that
I'm on this and it may not be the best
that I can do, but hey, you've got our take

ones and then they all turned back up again.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
Bachelors are the socks of the kitchen. They just disappear.

Meanwhile, the Justice Department is seeking out ways to wind

reelected because of a policy that a sitting president can't
be prosecuted. Also, the race for control of the House
of Representatives is still undecided, but Republicans are pretty confident
they're going to take control once all the votes are counted. Locally,

Democrat April McClain Delaney holds just a slight lead over

what did you do to tick off faith?

Speaker 8 (18:26):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (18:26):
In this case the story.

Speaker 4 (18:27):
Is a floorda man bitten by a shark twice a
decade apart, I mean, come on, he survived both times too.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
I mean, what did you do to tempt fate? And
how did it go sideways? Just when you thought it
couldn't get any worse?

Speaker 5 (18:40):
Kaboom?

Speaker 4 (18:41):
Do you ever feel like you're in the midst of
some sort of I don't know, stroke of bad luck?

Speaker 5 (18:47):
Yes, an avalanche? Sure? Yeah, absolutely, all right, go ahead.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
Anytime I go anywhere near a urgent care or an
emergency room or a doctor's office that might require critical
care that's adjacent to a hospital, okay.

Speaker 5 (19:01):
So what is it?

Speaker 4 (19:01):
Well, you're there because you're already heard or injured. What's
happening that makes.

Speaker 5 (19:05):
You feel like it's a stroke of batt luck? Like
a string of things.

Speaker 3 (19:08):
That well, because the times that I've gone in there
thinking I was going to go get like maybe a
little bit better than urgent care, greater than urgent care,
but not quite put me in the hospital, I've ended
up going into the hospital because something seriously.

Speaker 2 (19:23):
Wrong was going on.

Speaker 3 (19:24):
And then when I'm in the hospital, it's like something
else goes wrong while I'm in the hospital and they're like, oh,
you didn't need one brain surgery. You need too because
the first one didn't work. I'm oh, okay, and I'm
not trying to be gloom and doom.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
But that was your reality.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
But my health challenges have been widely commented about and
talked about.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Yeah, and that's just the brain thing.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
And then there was the cellulitis, almost staff infection.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
They wouldn't let me leave.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
I thought I was gonna get out on a Wednesday.
That became Thursday, that became I really got so tired
of seeing doctor Ali I lost my mind. I told
the food guy just to leave and the nurses to
leave me alone.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
You you ever been on a run of bad luck?

Speaker 5 (20:01):
Nothing quite like that.

Speaker 4 (20:02):
Mine's usually travel related with delays or luggage getting lost
or things like that, which I think is a little
bit more common than what you're talking.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
No, but that's nonetheless a stroke of bad luck. It's
the worst possible thing. And you just look at the
sky and you say, God, what else, what else are you.

and I reach out to all my girlfriends in Snapchat
and I send them a snapchat being like Ryan's a
stage my kiss. This is like so awkward.

Caitlyn in Germantown, you had a run of bad luck recently?
What went down?

Speaker 6 (26:00):
I had one of those days just everything went wrong.
First I stilled coffee on my shirt right before a
big meeting, and then I got a flat tire on
the way there, and to top it all off, I
lost my wallet somewhere along the way. It felt like
a comedy of errors, but definitely was not funny at
the time.

Speaker 4 (26:17):
That's one of those days where I just go right
back to bed and just don't answer any calls.

Speaker 3 (26:20):
I'm done well, Caitlin. Hopefully days like that come to
an end. God willing, Dave, Good morning in Woodbridge. What's up?

Speaker 7 (26:26):
One time I made the not so brilliant decision to
take a short cut through the desert to get back
to the highway, and naturally, my car started acting up,
and just when I thought it couldn't get any worse,
I hit a rock and popped my tire. My phone
was barely alive, so I ended up having to call
the police for help. Thankfully I got out and got
my car towed. But talk about a string of bad luck, And.

Speaker 3 (26:47):
That's the last time you decided to take a detour
while driving across the country to Burning Man in the
middle of the desert.

Speaker 4 (26:55):
To admit it, it was more bad decision than bad luck.
