Toby and Chili Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point one,
Wash up out.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
If we're talking about what feels good before five o'clock
in the morning, here at ninety seven point one, watch
up them 're Toby and Chilly in the morning. It
has to be the fact that the Washington Commanders played
like they were possessed last night and pulled off a
gigantic cup set win. I don't know about you, but
I watched some of that stuff last night because I
kind of would rather watch in real time. I think,
you know, real time is better than the updates, you know,
(00:26):
because you just don't catch the moments. Yeah, and I
knew early on in that game that I could go
to bed and that it was probably going to go
a certain way.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Well, because every possession led to some sort of a score.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
So there, you haven't I was.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
I felt very very good about the game. The fact
that the other team didn't really show up. I mean,
well they showed up, I mean it was it was
just kind of a thing Cincinnati, but no, they tried.
But the Commanders were playing, like I said, possessed. It's
like as if they've got a mission and I haven't
(00:59):
seen that out of the commanders in a hot minute.
So it's kind of a good reason to feel good
before five this morning, at least on this side of
the console here at ninety seven point one, WATCHFM would
tell me you chilly in the morning, how you feel
in this morning?
Speaker 3 (01:11):
I got a good report card yesterday when I went
for my cleaning at the dentist, and I don't have
to worry about it for another six months.
Speaker 4 (01:17):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
I'm not a big fan of the whole scraping and
the well.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
I remember as a kid they used to tell us
we had to go every moon, every quarter.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
No, not every quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
Yeah, it was like a sign up in the dentist's office.
Maybe it was to try to get more money out
of my parents.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Yes, I don't know. I think twice a year is plenty.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
I don't know. I'm no dentist.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
If you're a dentist listening this morning, how often should
we go to see you? Seriously? If like we're being
the ideally perfect patient. Yeah, you know, because if it's
two times and Jilly is getting a good report card,
that means less scraping and gnashing and cleaning, and well,
you call us at eight sixty six nineteen seven forty
three sixty one, and tell us and while you're on
(01:59):
the phone, tell us why you love Fall. Brand new
season in case you didn't know, starting to get a
bit cooler. Fire pits are going, chestnuts will soon be
roasting over an open fire. The festive season is here.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
You know it's Fall because of all the smells, the
different flavors, the different Fall specials available everywhere you turn,
from coffee to pumpkin spice. Everything's to Even when it
comes to Octoberfests, non alcoholic beer, which I found is
on the rise. It's up big time with gen Z.
They're choosing not to drink the Octoberfest brew with the
(02:44):
alcohol in it. It's kind of a revolutionary thing.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
There's two things that we did for the first time.
One yesterday cranked up that crock pot and made some
pot roast. That's very Fall of us. And the second
thing is I'm wearing boots today, very fall. The boot
factor is what I love about fall fashion, and I'll
just leave it at that right on.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
I don't overthink fall that much.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
I just like the fire Pits season, and I like
the fact that there's just new flavors and foods.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Okay, you know, fire Pits is a good reason to
love fall.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
That's a good one. It's just a fall thing.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
But fall seems to be a season where some people
are like, we love it or we can't stand it.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
Where do you stand on it? This morning? Michelle, thank
you for waking up in Kensington.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Go ahead, the cozy vines and all the pumpkins labor trees.
I love the Chris air, the colorful weeds and of
course pumpkins, sie everything.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
You are not alone for those people who love the fall.
They love the pumpkins, spice everything, and I mean everything.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
And you don't mind that it actually starts in August.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
No, right, it's believe it or not. Stephen, good morning
in Alexandria. I hope the water levels stay kind of
low for you. What's your favorite part of fall?
Speaker 4 (03:53):
I love getting into the holidays.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
I feel like it's.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
Been forever since we celebrated anything what do you mean
by that Halloween?
Speaker 3 (03:58):

Amelia Bar says Chili it is always the simple that
produces the marvelous. Amelia Bar says, it's always the simple
that produces the marvelous. You can make this glossy or
that glossy. You can do this thing or that thing,
but you know what, keep it simple. It doesn't take
a whole lot to be marvelous when you keep things simple.
(05:10):
So keep that in mind as you go through today.
Try simplicity. It works, Amelia Barr. It's always the simple
that produces the marvelous. Go make something marvelously simple happen today.
Hopefully that helps. It's your morning mindset for this Tuesday.

Late summer and early fall or fair season, and this
weekend in Texas, the Texas State Fair kicks off. Now,
why are we talking about the Texas State Fair, the
State Fair of Texas in Maryland, the DMV, Virginia, parts
of Washington, d C, and West Virginia. Well because they
do things with deep fried everything which are just I mean,
(09:26):
it's food coma. Just to read about it, wait till
you hear about some of the ridiculous Texas Fair foods.
The State Fair of Texas known for their food, but
this year the ridiculousness takes the cake. We got some
of the highlights on the way in minutes. Toby and
Chilly in the Morning, six eight at ninety seven point
one wash CHEFM.
Speaker 4 (09:43):
Good morning.
Speaker 2 (09:44):
If you know anybody who's like a native Texan or
they've moved to Texas and they're kind of like these
they call themselves Texans, but they're more like transplants. You
know that the State Fair of Texas is a big deal.
Toby and Chilly in the Morning. It's ninety seven point
one wash FM, d C. Now, why are we talking
about the State Fair of tex in Washington, d C. Well,
because whenever you go to a fair around here, there's
deep fried goodness everywhere you look. But this isn't just
(10:08):
deep fried goodness. These are food concoctions on growth hormones, steroids,
if you will. It's unbelievable the food you can find,
I would.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Dare say it even kind of borderlines gross, like I'm sorry.
Like this thing called the Nephew that they're gonna have
at the fair. It's a warm, glazed donut that's top
with brisket, mozzarella, cheese, honey, and powdered sugar. Oh Mike,
that hurts my stomach.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
Yes, brisket does not belong on a donut.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
With mozzarella cheese as well. You've been to this, you're
front Texas.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
It's it's look, it's it's food nirvana for people who
are into flavors.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
But like, for instance, there is a drink there this year.
Speaker 2 (10:51):
It's called the Lace Potato Chip Drink, and it looks
like it's a great smoothie, like you would find it
one of these really good smoothie restaurants right up or
these where you go to get these drinks right up
until the end when they tell you that they top
it with lace, sweet and spicy honey potato chips now
for a playful crunch and a spicy adventure.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
Soip it. If you dare no, I'll pass.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
And you know there are people that just forego the
rides all together. They go there for the food adventure.
I'm wondering if they have to carry tombs or other
over the counter things to keep things settled, so to speak,
because there's no way anyone's gut is that healthy to
be able to take on all of these crazy concoction.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
You're gonna be popping those tombs like their skittles. Then
you're gonna have to go to their medical tents, which
they have. They're just because my good I don't know
if you've ever seen some sort of deep fried concoction
an affair that blew your mind, tell us all about it.
You can tap the talkback microphone if you're signed in
listening to us on your iHeart app. Right now, here's

Speaker 4 (16:05):
Good morning. Today is your sister's birthday? Chili? Are you
and your sister very close?
Speaker 5 (16:11):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (16:11):
We are now closer, much worser than we were when
we were kids. I'm the older sister. Oh she, It's
just she and I And yes, I was. I was
a tormentor.
Speaker 4 (16:22):
I was.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
I was one of those sisters.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
By the way, eight sixty six, nine two seven forty
three sixty one is the number if you can relate
to tormenting your siblings, much like Chili, the tormenting older sibler.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
And here's where I a sibling. Here's where I did
the most tormenting. So my mother would make me bring
my sister along on play dates with my friends, and
I didn't want her there. She was my annoying little sister.
So I would pretend she was invisible and just ignore her,
and it would drove driver crazy. And so that was
how I would torment her. Now, hold on, before you
(16:56):
start snickering over there, mister, you are the oldest of
four boys. I don't sit there and tell me there
wasn't something you did to torment your brother.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
I'm not sitting here saying there is.
Speaker 2 (17:05):
And I lost track of all the ways I used
to torment my three brothers while I was growing up.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Could you think of one recurring thing that you would do?
Speaker 5 (17:13):
Though?
Speaker 2 (17:13):
You know how, even now today, if I get one
piece of information, even if I don't know that what
I'm saying is true, I'll just torment you with it.
Speaker 4 (17:21):
I'll just keep coming back to it. While I would
do that, I first.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Started doing that when my little brother, Zach, he's the
oldest of the two twins, I have younger twin brother,
Zachary and Zeek and Zach was Zach and Zeke were
in elementary school and I found out the name of
some girl in one of Zach's classes. Oh, and her
name was Amy Motley. I didn't know who Amy Motley was.
He didn't know who Amy Motley was, but I just
knew her name. So automatically, you have a question named Motley.
Speaker 4 (17:48):
Zach and Amy sitting in a tree.
Speaker 5 (17:50):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
He to get so pissed off at me.
Speaker 3 (17:56):
So these stories, by the way, or how I keep
my eleven year year old from being happy that he's
an only child. Well, yeah, Dinado, trust me when I
say you don't want a brother or sister, because it's
not an automatic guarantee that y'all are going to be close.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
Yeah, just ask your aunts because mom used to torment her. Yeah,
and don't don't come talk to me and my three
brothers will throw me under the bus.
Speaker 4 (18:17):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:17):
Oh, you used to say this and this and this
when we were kids. He used to Maybe you've tormented
a sibling before. If you have, it's probably a great
story and we would love to hear it. Eight six

crazy first date adventure.
Speaker 4 (19:17):

Speaker 5 (19:18):
I met this guy on a dating app and he
invited me to go out for drinks. So we're at
mid date and he's just talking about his chicken fan
which John stopped aty one, not another restaurant.
Speaker 3 (19:29):
And so I was like, okay, yeah, I'll meet you
over at the other restaurant.
Speaker 5 (19:32):
So we drive separately. So he was like, well, my
car's in the other direction, let me go get it
and i'll meet you over there.
Speaker 4 (19:37):
So I'm sitting there waiting for him to get there and.
Speaker 5 (19:40):
He just doesn't show up. That's my worst first date.
And I call it my chicken sandwich state.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
How do you know something didn't happen to this guy
that you were just ghosted? Did you try to reach
out to him? Did he ever explain anything?
Speaker 5 (19:51):
Because I gave him like five minutes or so. Then
I messaged him and I was like, hey, just here
at the place, are you okay? No response, and I
was say, okay, I think it's just from his personality,
I could tell something was a little off.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Why did you go on the date with this guy
if you weren't really that into him to begin with?
Speaker 5 (20:08):
Well, you know dating apps, you don't really know them.
From his profile, I was interested.
Speaker 3 (20:13):
Did you ever stick around to taste the said chicken
sandwich and try it out for yourself even if you
were alone at that point?
Speaker 5 (20:20):
No, I just befid it. I lived locally.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
I just walked home.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
Ever stopped to think you might be a little there,
impatient there, Kelly and Annapolis, like, maybe you've given him
five more minutes.
Speaker 4 (20:29):
He might have made it for the chicken sand, which
he didn't get to you.
Speaker 5 (20:32):
But there's a five minute rule, right, Well.
Speaker 4 (20:34):
There, I guess there is with you.
Speaker 3 (20:37):
If he had shown up after five minutes, I am
certain she would have heard from him. So I think
she was in this case ghosted.
Speaker 5 (20:45):
Yeah, I gave him a sand and hopefully nothing bad
happened to him, and really he was stitching me, which
you know it happened, but at at least that it's
not interested.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
Now, remember you can hear all of your crazy first
date stories, some good, some not so good, all of
them CRAZYWASHFM dot com slash crazy. If you've got one,
