Toby and Chili Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point
oneh up out.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
When you start the day, you should try to make
sure you feel good, and that's what we do before five.
Here ninety seven point one WATCHFM Toby and Chili in
the morning. Feeling good before five today because I started
a project that was well, I bit off more than
I could chew. But when I get done, it's going
to be incredible. It's probably going to help my sanity
(00:26):
and it's definitely going to help my homework space out.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
Oh okay, is this a rearranging of furniture in your place?
Speaker 2 (00:34):
I got rid of old technology at the advice of
some people in our company of iHeartRadio, and so I
ripped it all out yesterday. But in ripping it all out,
I made quite the mess. It's like a rat's nest
of cords. So when we get done with the show
today and we get done with some after show stuff,
(00:54):
if I have the time because I might have to
do something else, I need to get a box and
I just need to throw cords and old technology in it.
I don't even know where you would recycle this stuff,
but I'm assuming I can take it to the Montgomery
County Dump and Ela what to do with it?
Speaker 3 (01:12):
They usually have like a special section for electronics there.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
So it should make my significant other very proud when
she comes back that I actually jumped in and just
started tackling it yesterday.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
What about you? Why are you feeling good today?
Speaker 5 (01:26):
Well?
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Okay, do you remember last week how we were talking
about an activity you wish your kids would get into, yes,
and how my son is not into watching sports, playing
sports or anything. He surprised us yesterday by saying he
wanted to audition for the school play today.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
Get out of town. That's how it starts. Maybe the
acting bug. Well, it runs in the family. You did
the whole acting thing I did.
Speaker 6 (01:49):
I'm not saying that.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
I just think it's comical that he's going to be
trying out for the Wizard of Oz.
Speaker 6 (01:55):
But there we go.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Well, I hope he makes it. If that's what he
wants to do, then in brace it, go Dinato.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
I think in the fifth grade everybody gets some sort
of he might be a munchkin, you know what I mean,
Like everybody gets a little something something in that age.
There isn't except for he wouldn't get a lead or anything.
I love my kid, but he's not lead material.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Well at this point, at least he's not playing in
like some Muppets themed musical where he's wearing the animal mask.
I was the animal when I was your son's age
at school play that was a frog.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
Well tell him good luck to.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
See it doesn't fall far from the tree? Will you
tell him good luck? Toby and Chilly in the Morning.

I don't know. Maybe the Sopranos, you know where people
used to look for sex and the city where people
used to look forward to watching every week.

Oh my god, it is awesome. If you go on CDs,
if you miss it, they we show it on the

It's many short races, one after the other. Perseverance it's
not a long race. It's many short races, one after
the other. Sometimes we get it in our heads that,
you know, to persevere means just to carry on and
(05:20):
to do something that takes forever. That's not true. Just
pick up wins just pick up many races. Short races
mean something one after the other. Eventually you'll win. Perseverance.

I wouldn't say fingernails.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
Do you think that that would be the actual answer?
Do you think that they're so big that they weigh
one hundred pounds? That's going to be quite the pricey manicure.
Speaker 6 (13:21):
Yes, I would be. It's such a big object. I
would think that could be it. It's so funny.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
I wouldn't even think about the fingernail. But yeah, she

this next.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Top Stories Top of the Hour.

Toby and chilly in the morning at ninety seven point
one wash CHEFM. Now you've got the news hang out
because we want to talk to you about your taxes.
Tax season opened on Monday. How did you feel the
first time you did your taxes?
Speaker 4 (18:35):
Do you remember eight.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
Six, six, nine two, seven forty three sixty one is
the number? Call us and tell us how that felt
for you to do your taxes for the first time.
Was it liberating or not so much? You can also
use the talkback microphone. If you're signed into your iHeart app,
tap speak and send your responses needed. Please as we
talk about this coming up after eights with Toby and
(18:57):
Chilly in the morning, it is ninety seven point one,
was Chefmac. We'll get to this next. You might have
seen this as survey floating around. It came out on
the fifteenth of January, and it's appropriate because tax season
started in earnest yesterday, Toby and Chilly in the morning,
you're at ninety seven point one watch FM. How do
you feel? How did you feel doing your taxes for
(19:18):
the first time? Give us call it eight sixty six
nine twenty seven forty three sixty one to speak out
how did you feel the first time you did your taxes?
And the reason why I ask that is because a
quarter of millennials in Gen X believe crazy things about taxes. Yes,
like that they don't have to pay, that they can
write everything off, that if you're paid in cash, you're
(19:39):
not required to pay taxes. These are actual beliefs in
this study And the bottom line is is you probably
Ohe just saying you probably owe and you probably need
to file.
Speaker 6 (19:50):
So when I was younger Toby, I got money back.
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Like when I was a young nineteen twenty something working
part time jobs and stuff.
Speaker 6 (20:00):
It was a simple time. It wasn't that dawn.
Speaker 3 (20:02):
I mean, initially maybe it's daunting, but then the form
seems pretty self explanatory. You have your W two, you
just fill in the blanks and then you wish for
the best. Do you remember when you filed the first
time and if you felt I.
Speaker 2 (20:15):
Don't really remember. I said that it was like ten
forty easy or something like that. It was like really
a simple piece of paper that needed to be mailed
by a certain day, and I remember rushing to the
post office on the fifteenth. I know that once upon
a time, back in the day, we used to give
away stamps for people who were sending in their taxes,
back when you could actually send them in, but not anymore.
Speaker 6 (20:38):
And also in.
Speaker 3 (20:39):
Our lifetime, they came up with software to make it easier,
like Turbo tax right where it was literally insert it
did the math for you, the equations for you, and poof,
it popped out whatever you needed. So it's kind of
interesting to me that this younger generation now makes a
lot of assumptions about tax season and it's kind of
(21:00):
scary because it only gets worse from here once you
start doing property, once you start having other investments, when you.
Speaker 2 (21:06):
Start writing things off right, You've got to keep track
of paperwork. When you go to take donations, you've got
to keep track of those receipts.
Speaker 4 (21:13):
You've got to keep track.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
Of receipts for other things that are unreimburssed business expenses.
So enjoy this simpler time now, kids, But make sure
you file your taxes because you do need to. Gen
Z looking at you, how do you feel doing your taxes?
How did you feel doing them for the first time? Yeah, eight,
six six three sixty one is the number if you
(21:35):
want to call in and speak out. How did you
feel that first time? Accomplished or confused? Either or there's
no wrong answer. We just want to hear what yours
is and we will coming up after eight with Toby
and Chilly in the morning here at ninety seven point
one wash FM. So make sure you speak out and
coming up next another one of your crazy first date stories.
Speaker 3 (21:55):
Tina from Falls Church had a date to King's Dominion.
Speaker 6 (21:59):
He brought up how long a friend? But which one
did she end up with?
Speaker 2 (22:04):
Case of the wingman that's on the way, stay right there.
Speaker 4 (22:08):
Right around seven thirty five, he.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Helby and Kelly Crazy.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
First day Tina and Paul's church. What's going on?
Speaker 9 (22:15):
I went to a friend's wedding with my sister and
her fan fiance. I was seated at the singles table
and I noticed this really handsome guy, but it was
quite brooding, not very sociable. But I had a great
time at the wedding. I danced a lot, and then
we went home. I didn't think anything about this at all,
and I figured, you know, he wasn't interested. So I
was quite surprised a few days later when I got
(22:35):
a call from him. So it turns out he has
my sister for my phone number. We agreed to me
at King's Dominion. He showed up. We at our date
came and he showed up with a buddy. Well on
the state. It seems like I was more comfortable with
his friend. Our conversation was great, whereas the guy that
originally invited me out was quite reserved. So when the
(22:56):
day ended, I was kind of disappointed. There was more.
There wasn't any more connection with the brooding, so I
did not think there was gonna be anything there. Okay hmm.
So he called a few days later just to say, Hey,
it seems like you're more interested than my buddy. If
you want, I could set you guys up, but I
said no, I would really like to get to know
you more. It seems like our phone conversations were a
(23:16):
lot more productive. So we fell in love over the phone.
We're being married now for twenty three and a half
years and three kids later.
Speaker 6 (23:23):
Wow.
Speaker 9 (23:25):
Our wedding song was the Power of Love by Celine Dion. Oh,
thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Been on a crazy first aid good or bad? You
