Toby and Chili Mornings on demand on ninety seven point
one wash out.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Thank you for starting your Wednesday with us. It's Toby
and Chiley in the Morning, ninety seven point one wash
at them.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
I'm kidd O'Shea.
Speaker 4 (00:11):
How are you doing? I'm okay, Chili, you know, hanging in.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
It's at least Wednesday, and I didn't work Monday, so
how can they be that bad?
Speaker 3 (00:18):
How about you?
Speaker 4 (00:19):
I'm doing well. I do have a question, though.
Speaker 5 (00:22):
Do you live in a place that has keys for
your door or is.
Speaker 4 (00:27):
It like a code.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
We have moved completely keyless in our building. It's a
code to get in everywhere. So no keys anymore, no fob,
no nothing. I love it. Why do you ask?
Speaker 5 (00:35):
Because yesterday we live in a single family home and
we have not transitioned our doors to keyless entry. It's
still good old fashioned.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (00:45):
And my husband accidentally locked himself oh, while I was
still at work. He was taking our son to the
bus stop and he walked out and he realized he
didn't bring any keys with him.
Speaker 4 (00:56):
But we have a key box.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
I was gonna say, what's the backup system?
Speaker 4 (00:59):
A box in the rock?
Speaker 5 (01:02):
No, it's like it's a legit, like almost like a
real estate agent.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
Oh sure, rock box.
Speaker 5 (01:06):
And it has a backup key in there. He just
punch in the code. However, the system failed and he
didn't understand why he couldn't get it open. He texted
me frantic, Thank god the show was over, but I
wasn't done working. But anyway, I left here and it's
taking me an hour to get home from because of construction.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
But at some point he texted me and he said,
I got it.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
I was gonna say, because those key boxes can be
very difficult, especially if it's the round combination ones.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
No, it's the punching the punch number one.
Speaker 5 (01:36):
What had happened was whomever put the key back in
the last time the key was positioned so it was
making it tough for the latch to come, so he
had to jiggle it a bunch.
Speaker 3 (01:46):
I feel like a lot of people have been through that.
Speaker 4 (01:48):
It's just annoying. But yeah, so now I'm thinking we
should just go.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
To a rock. Yeah, just go to the easy rock
or put it under a mat.
Speaker 5 (01:55):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Really, Well, we're glad you're studying your Wednesday with us
here on wash FM. At least putt together. Top stories

The DC Council is going to be holding a public
hearing today on the Fair Ticket Resale Act. It's a
bill aimed at curbing price gouging and also improving access

(03:09):
cap resale prices at ten percent above face value and
also require full disclosure of service fees. The University of
Maryland is enforcing its usual security policy for today's Turning
Point USA event, requiring the group to hire private security
for weapons screening. Turning Point calls it discriminatory, but the
school says the rule applies to all events and costs

All right, I'm kiddo'she and for Toby coming up next,

on this day. Chili has an inspirational quote for us.
It's our morning mindset, and we'll share that with you next,
plus more music to get you going on ninety seven
point one wash FM, Toby and Chilly in the Morning,
ninety seven point one WASHEFM, Good morning, I'm kiddo'she It
is time for our morning mindset.
Speaker 5 (04:31):
Today's quote is by Banksy, who said, if you get tired,
learn to rest, not to quit. It's a reminder it's
okay to feel exhausted or overwhelmed, but that doesn't mean
you should give up entirely. So instead of quitting when
things get rough or tough, just take a break and
give yourself time to recharge and then come back when
you are ready.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
All right, Chilli, I try.
Speaker 5 (04:55):
It's just a gentle push to be kind to yourself.
To yourself while you're staying committed to it really matters.
So remember what Banksy said, if you get tired, learn
to rest, not to quit, and you can find that
quote on the Toby and Chili page at washefm dot com.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
Excellent coming up next.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
Yesterday we were talking about a new study that says
three out of ten adults still get scared of the dark,
and scary movies make it even worse. We still have
people calling in and join the conversation at eight six
six nine two seven four three six one or that's
eight six six wash FM one. So we started a
list of scary our favorite scary movies. We got a
good one going here, but we'll continue adding to it next.
(05:31):
Here we go Wednesday together in DC ninety seven point
one wash FM with Toby and Chile in the morning
and Kiddosha, we're putting the list together of the scariest movies.
Speaker 5 (05:40):
Yeah, yesterday we got calls for people saying they love
watching The Shining, the Conjuring Predator, Blair Witch Projects.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
Yes. Now, I don't like horror movies.
Speaker 5 (05:51):
You love the genre, but we wanted to put this
together because it is spooky.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Season eight six six nine two seven four three six
one to join the Converse station anytime, Patrick and Hanover.
Speaker 3 (06:02):
What would you add to the list.
Speaker 6 (06:03):
It's Salem's Lot. When I was eight years old, my
babysitter made me sit down and watch this movie and
I slept with my mother for two months after that.
That scared me to death.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
Did you ever watch it again? After you got older.
Speaker 6 (06:17):
I sat down and watched it. Of course cringes and
I made it through the movie, but it still made
me feel some type.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
Of way ridding it to the list. Thank you so
much for listening to the show. Patrick, Thank you.
Speaker 6 (06:29):
I've listened to you every day. I love it.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Thank you so much for listening Patrick. And if it
still scares you today, that means it's a good one.
Let's put that one on the list.
Speaker 4 (06:36):
Yes, Salem's Lot got it and.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
I've never seen it, so I can't wait to watch it.

Speaker 5 (07:45):
President Trump is demanding two hundred and thirty million dollars
from the Justice Department as compensation for two investigations, the
twenty sixteen Russian election interference probe and the FBI search
of his mar A Lago home. Millions of Americans could
be affected if the government shut down continues, as SNAP
funding may run out by the end of the month.
(08:07):
Over forty two million low income individuals rely on the program.
About three hundred employees of DC concert promoter IMP are unionizing,
citing stressful and sometimes unsafe working Conditions IMP, which runs
venues around here like nine to thirty Club and the
Anthem says it supports their right to unionize and welcomes dialogue.
(08:31):
Wheat and residents are demanding safety changes after a thirteen
year old girl was critically injured in the fourth pedestrian
crash near Georgia Avenue since July. So neighbors are blaming
speeding and cut through traffic.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
For the growing danger.
Speaker 5 (08:46):
Prince George's County may repeal it's decades old ban on
pit bull terriers if a new bill moves forward. The
proposal would replace the breed specific rule with a system
that focuses on dangerous dog behavior and would also increase
penalties for any.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
Dog that is deemed dangerous.
Speaker 5 (09:08):
Ikea is opening a new location in DC, but it's
not going to be a full store. The company is
moving its plan and order point from Arlington to M
Street and Georgetown and that new location will open November five.
Speaker 4 (09:21):
And according to.
Speaker 5 (09:22):
A recent study, men forms the strongest musical bonds when
they're sixteen years old, and for women it's nineteen now.
Men also connect through rebellious music and keep teenage songs
life long, but women link music to emotions and actually
favor newer songs as they get older. Forecasts for today
(09:44):
partly cloudy and breezy with highs in the mid sixties.
Right now fifty one in Germantown.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
My rebellious music was Mariah carry back to when I
was sixteen, and I still love her exactly all right,
I'm kNN o'she in for Toby. There is a new
app being called the Tinder for Jobs. Until you hear
what the app does for you and how it helps
you secure an interview and why some people are asking
is this ethical, We'll share that with you next. Good Morning,
(10:10):
It's Toby and Tilly in the Morning, ninety seven point
one Wash FM.
Speaker 3 (10:13):
I'm kidd O'Shea.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
We are talking about a new app that is helping
people secure interviews for jobs, but some people think it's
going too far.
Speaker 5 (10:21):
Well, it's a startup called source Soorcee, and they thought
it could make job hunting as easy as a dating app.
Think of it as like Tinder for jobs. It lets
users swipe on listings while AI will handle the applications,
the cover letters, and the portals. Now, despite claims of
millions of swipes and interviews, with major companies. Critics are
(10:44):
saying that it further dehumanizes an already flawed hiring process,
and it's making job hunting feel even more like a
game that no one wants to play. But how would
you feel about using this app to find a job?
Speaker 2 (10:57):
Well, I will say it can get frustrated when you
try to upload the application is not the right file
and you know the cover letter and all that. So
taking that part out of it and making it easy
you set up your profile, they just get it. But
is it writing your cover letter and things like that? Like,
I feel like I should still be handwriting the cover
letter to show that I'm interested in this position.
Speaker 5 (11:17):
Even though I'm not a fan of AI infiltrating everything,
I think that if it's streamlining the process, at the
end of the day, it's like helping having my friend
help me write a resume.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
How is this different?
Speaker 5 (11:27):
I just want to get that dang interview, And if
this is going to help me get in front of
a humanah to tell them and show them and market myself,
then I am all for it.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
I just every time I use AI to write anything
about me, it just makes me sound so much better
than I am.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
So that's my concern. That a good thing.
Speaker 7 (11:46):
Shelby and Chili's nearly impossible.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Question until you get to the interview. All right, what
is today's question?
Speaker 4 (11:52):
You touch this up to eight hundred times a day?
What is it?
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Eight six six nine two seven four three six one
On eight sixty six Wash FM one, we're playing for
tickets to see Sarah McLaughlin at the Anthem thanks to
Live Nation.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
What's that question again?
Speaker 5 (12:09):
You touch this up to eight hundred times a day?
What is it all right?
Speaker 2 (12:14):
She'll be there November sixteenth if you want to see
Sarah McLaughlin eight sixty six nine two seven four three
six one.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
We'll get the answer to the nearly impossible question.
Speaker 7 (12:22):
Next, Toby and Chilly's nearly impossible question.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
Rand I'm Kiddoshee in for Toby. We're playing for tickets
to see Sarah McLaughlin at the Anthem on November sixteenth,
thanks to Live Nation.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
What is today's question?
Speaker 5 (12:35):
You touch this up to eight hundred times a day?
What is it all right? Eight sixty six nine two
seven four three six one. Good morning, Bill, thanks for
listening in Gaithersburg. You've got the question, what do you
what do you think The answer is your face and
a lot of times to be touching your face.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
Oh my lord.
Speaker 6 (12:55):
Yeah, if you're love with yourself, you're gonna touch your face.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Remember during the COVID days, you couldn't touch anything, you know,
that's true.
Speaker 4 (13:03):
That's why people wore a mask around the clock. They're like,
I don't trust my hands.
Speaker 5 (13:06):
Yeah, that's an excellent guest, Bill, and yes, it is true.
You do touch your face up to eight hundred times
a day. Congratulations, Thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (13:15):

soon be affected if the government shut down continues.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Chile has Top Stories coming up, and we've got the
music to start your Wednesday Partly Catty Breezy sixty five
for the High Today, Toby and Chile ninety seven point

Speaker 7 (14:39):
Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
Speaker 5 (14:42):
Millions of Americans who depend on Snap food assistance could
soon be affected if the government shutdown continues. States like
Texas and Pennsylvania have warned that they may halt snap distributions,
which will potentially impact over forty two million low income individuals.
The DC Council is going to be holding a public
hearing today on the Fair Ticket Resale Act.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
It's a bill that's aimed at.
Speaker 5 (15:04):
Curbing price gouging and also improving access to major events.
The proposal would ban ticket buying bots, cap resale prices
at ten percent above face value, and also require full
disclosure of service fees. The University of Maryland is enforcing
its usual security policy for today's Turning Point USA event,
(15:26):
which would require the group to hire private security for
weapons screening. Turning Point calls it discriminatory, but the university
says the rule applies to all events and costs less
than one hundred and fifty dollars.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
A new bill called the Hero Act.
Speaker 5 (15:40):
Has been introduced in Montgomery County to aid the families
of career firefighters who die in the line of duty.
The legislation would allow survivors to receive a benefit equal
to a twenty year pension, regardless of service length, and
would also ensure payments began as early as a month
after the firefighter's death and while ghosts and ghoules might
(16:02):
come to mind this time of year. A new survey
of American fears finds that Americans are actually the most
afraid of government corruption. That is followed by loved ones
falling seriously ill and financial collapse.
Speaker 4 (16:19):
Forecast today partly cloudy.
Speaker 5 (16:20):
And breezy with highs around sixty five Right now fifty
one in Stafford.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
And I'm kiddoshe and for Toby. Coming up next, a
relationship expert is saying, if you do this one thing
for twenty minutes a day, it could help your relationship.
Speaker 3 (16:34):
But how realistic is this? I will share this tip
with you.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Coming up next, Great nineties throwback on ninety seven point
one wash FM, all the music you need to start
your Wednesday with Toby and Chile in the morning.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
I'm kiddo, Shae.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
A relationship expert is saying, if you do this, it
could help your relationship.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
Well, you know, we know relationships are not perfect, and
there's a psychologist that says twenty minutes a day connecting
and having a conversation with your partner could really help
you get out of that rut. Obviously, you should also
have compliments every day to each other. Do fun activities together,
(17:12):
but twenty minute conversations every day about neutral or positive
test neutral.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
So you're saying, twenty minutes uninterrupted, no phones, no dog
asking to play ball time, no kids running around, and
then we've got to get through twenty minutes without any
confrontation because well, I don't know about you, but whenever
we have household conversations or family you know something confirmed. Yes,
it's like we make it about five minutes in before
(17:40):
somebody's voice gets a little too high and you're reminded
to bring your voice down.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
What about you.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
I think that's why relationships feel stuck sometimes. I think
prioritizing reconnection is a good thing. Is it realistic? No,
it's hard to have twenty minutes. My husband and I
now can do this because he works from home. Yeah,
and I'll come home home around eleven or noon and
we could sit and have lunch together, or we could
go for a walk with the dog together.
Speaker 4 (18:05):
But most people they.
Speaker 5 (18:06):
Don't even see right until the very end of the day,
and I don't know that they want to talk.
Speaker 2 (18:11):
No, you're exhausted, like, don't talk to me, get away
from me. I say start small on this, let's start
with five minutes a day uninterrupted and a nice conversation.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
Yet I thought you were gonna say twenty seconds.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
Oh no, well good coming up next here?
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Where do you draw the line when it comes to
cameras monitoring everything?
Speaker 6 (18:28):
We do?
Speaker 2 (18:29):
Wait until you hear what one major toilet manufacturer is
now offering and has this gone too far? We'll tell
you that story next. Tell me in Chili in the
morning ninety seven point one wash FM. I'm kido'she Are
there certain places that there should never be a camera
like your toilet?
Speaker 3 (18:49):
Tell me about this Chili.
Speaker 5 (18:50):
Okay, So Cohler who makes toilets, they've launched a device
called Dakota. It costs six hundred dollars and you mount
it onto your to toilet and it will use optical
sensors to monitor your health by analyzing things that are
in the toilet. It'll track your hydration and your gut
health and anything that may seem abnormal. Then it sends
(19:12):
a report to an app which you can log in
using your fingerprint. And in addition to the six hundred
dollars to get the device, you have to pay monthly
fee anywhere from seventy to two hundred and fifty six dollars.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
Now, this is like wearing a smart watch that tells
counts your steps and healthy fee.
Speaker 5 (19:30):
Yeah, yeah, driving your sleep this is a bit more invasive.
It seems like there's an optical there's like a camera
on your toilet taking a look at things.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
So what do you think about this? Would you? Is
this a device that you would find useful?
Speaker 5 (19:44):
I think it's very useful because there we are more
mindful of our health and being on top of that.
But I know how I am, even with monitoring my
sleep with my smart watch, I would be looking at
that and over analyzing it and be paranoid. So for
that reason, I'm out. You're out, Yeah, what about you?
Speaker 3 (20:04):
I'm not against it.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
I guess I think it's a good idea, you know,
to keep track of things like that. But then the
price takes a little out of whack from for six
hundred dollars. I'll continue self monitoring at this point until
the price tag comes.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
Down, until there's like Amazon Prime Day and here you go.
Speaker 5 (20:19):
Yeah, but are there some places where cameras really should
should not be.
Speaker 2 (20:23):
Yeah, that's a great conversation. We should start right now
at eight six six nine two seven four, three, six, one,
eight six six wash FM one. Where do you draw
the line when it comes to cameras toilets.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
I don't know. Joined the conversation.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
We'll get some of your calls coming up in just
a little bit, but first we're working on Top Stories.
That's on the way next. Plus we've got a bunch
of music lined up for you with Toby and Chile
on ninety seven point one wash FM. Toby and Chilly

for this. Opens in theaters October twenty fourth, this Friday,

Speaker 5 (21:42):
President Trump is demanding two hundred and thirty million dollars
from the Justice Department is compensation for two investigations, one
for the twenty sixteen Russian election interference probe, the other
for the FBI search of his mar A Lago home.
A man was arrested late last night after crashing his
car into a su security barrier outside the wine house.
(22:02):
Authorities have not released the driver's identity or a possible motive.
A Fairfax County teacher named Zenata Perez has been placed
on paid leave after claiming a school social worker helped
a student get an abortion in twenty twenty one. The
district says the claim is false and cited her disclosure
of confidential information as a reason for the suspension. Mayor
(22:25):
Muriel Bowser is urging the DC Council to make the
city's stricter youth curfew permanent to boost public safety. The
emergency curfew, which included seventeen year old and allowed seven
pm start times in certain zones. Expired earlier this month
after the council declined to extend it. D c's Go
Go Museum in Cafe is offering free admission and food
(22:46):
discounts for furloughed federal workers during the government shutdown. Residents
can also get in free with an ID while other
visitors pay fifteen dollars and more and more employees are
staying in their jobs longer than usual.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
It's a called job hugging.

We were talking earlier about Kohler coming up with a
device where you will be able to attach it to
your toilet so it monitors things. Send a toilet for
your health, health, your gut health, all the hydration.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
Are you healthy or are a ring for your toilet?
It's gone too far, I believe.
Speaker 5 (24:07):
Yeah, but you know what, people are really into monitoring
their health. But maybe there are some places cameras don't belong.
I would like to add to that list. I hate
that that some dressing rooms or fitting rooms have cameras
and stores even though there's a sign that's saying you
may be monitored with this two way mirror, but I
don't think you need to be in there.
Speaker 3 (24:24):
You don't like that. Kelly in Woodbridge, what would you
add to the list.
Speaker 7 (24:28):
I don't care how much they say it's for security.
Speaker 3 (24:30):
They're better never be a camera in my car.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
Kelly, you seem very adamant about that. Why is that
that's my therapy? Room, my karaoke stage.
Speaker 7 (24:39):
And my gossip bood.
Speaker 5 (24:40):
Whatever happens between me and my steering wheel will stay there.
Speaker 3 (24:44):
Don't buy a tesla.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
I'm pretty sure they already have cameras monitoring your every
move s.
Speaker 3 (24:50):

Speaker 3 (24:57):

your control out of my private life. It's not going
to happen.
Speaker 5 (25:04):

got some smart TVs, have it, laptops, have it.
