Speaker 2 (00:05):
Here we Go Monday Morning on ninety seven point one
wash FM with Toby and Chile in the morning, I'm Kiddo'shay.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
And how are you doing today?
Speaker 4 (00:12):
I'm doing great, but I think you're doing.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
Better because of the Commander's win.
Speaker 4 (00:17):
Your Commander's won.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
It's because I walked away from watching the game that
they ended up winning.
Speaker 4 (00:22):
Now, explain this to me.
Speaker 3 (00:24):
Well, the first quarter especially, they were down most of
the first half zero. It was zero, ten to nothing,
and I, you know, really looking forward to Jane and Daniels,
our quarterback coming back from a knee injury, and I
just it was just making me very very anxious. So
I said to my husband, I'm going to take the
dog for a walk.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
And then I came back and it was halftime and
he's like, they tied it ten to ten. I was like, whoa,
I need to walk away more on Yeah, And of
course that turned everything and we ended up winning twenty
seven to ten.
Speaker 4 (00:55):
There we go were the Chargers yesterday? So really nice game?
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (00:59):
Did you of course?
Speaker 2 (01:00):
So?
Speaker 4 (01:01):
Yeah, So the Packers had a bye week, so they
were off.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
That's our hometown team, and I was cheering for the Commanders,
and my partner then he's such a football fan, he's
such a Green Bay Packers, and he's like, you understood
why we can't cheer of the Commanders, right because if
we were the playoffs, we were down to this game
and we only had and they won more games than us,
then we wouldn't want that. I'm like, well, when we
get there, we can deal with that. For now, I'm
(01:23):
dealing I'm cheering for the Commanders.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Taking one new week at a time, one game at a.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
Time, not a big deal.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
I like watching the Commanders win, so I was happy
to see that as well. And the Eagles launch all right,
party Cloudy eighty two today. Chile's working on Top stories

This is a Japanese proverb which says vision without action
is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare. It
means that having big ideas or dreams without taking steps
to achieve them is just wishful thinking, but taking action
if you don't have a clear plan or goal can
lead to chaos and stress. Vision gives direction, action brings
(04:28):
it to life. So you really do need both of
those things to succeed. The Japanese proverb vision without action
is a daydream, and action without vision is a nightmare.
It can be found on the Toby and Chili page
at washfm dot com. Also a great place if you
want to send us your own inspirational quote for us
to share here as a morning mindset.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
Yeah, we would love to do that, all right.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
Coming up next here, how do you celebrate important relationship milestones?
I'm hoping it's not the same way my partner Kyle
and I celebrated last night. This is pretty rough. I'll
share that with you next. Toby and Chilly in the Morning,
ninety seven point one wash FM.
Speaker 4 (05:06):
Good morning.
Speaker 2 (05:07):

I really forgot.
Speaker 2 (05:25):
It was Kyle that said, hey, you realize today's October fifth.
It's our anniversary.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Oh my god, that's so great. I say it's great
because I, in my relationship, am the one who forgets
what day it is, and my husband is great about remembering,
like every milestone. He'll have notes for me first thing
in the morning, when I come down to leave for work,
he'll be like, happy engagement anniversary, Happy, first date anniversary. Happy.
(05:53):
I mean, my god, this man has it in his
calendar ready to go.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
But now is that important to you that he remembers that.
If he didn't leave you those notes, if he didn't
remember it, would you be like he like, don doesn't
even remember when we met?
Speaker 3 (06:06):
Honestly, No, because I'm guilty of not remembering either. We
have been together long enough that we're secure in that
I don't know what it is. But it doesn't bother me.
When I was dating random other guys before my husband,
of course.
Speaker 4 (06:20):
It would bother me, like you don't know what to do?
Speaker 3 (06:22):
Yeah, But no, for some reason at this point it doesn't.
And we don't really do much to celebrate, did you guys?
Are you guys going to now do something to celebrate it?

Secretary of State Marco Rubio stressed the urgency of reaching
a deal to end the war in Gaza. His remark
comes as the President sends envoys little Middle East to
finalize a hostage release plan which both Israel and Hamas support,
with conditions still under negotiation. A federal judge has temporarily
blocked the deployment of all National Guard troops to protect

federal buildings in Portland, Oregon. This follows the same judges
earlier ruling against using Oregon National Guard troops in the city. Virginia.
Attorney General Canada Jay Jones is now facing backlash over
text messages from twenty twenty two in which he mentioned
shooting former House Speaker Todd Gilbert. Jones has since apologized,
(08:26):
but now several lawmakers are calling for him to drop
out of the race. Authorities are investigating an early morning
explosion that happened yesterday in Leesburg. Several manhole covers were

Toby and Chilly in the Morning, ninety seven point one
(09:51):
wash FM, Monday Morning. I'm kiddo, Shay, where are the
best fall festivals in the DMV. I don't think anybody
knows better than chiliam are because uh huh, you make
sure you go to one every weekend.
Speaker 3 (10:01):
Yeah, you know, we have an almost twelve year old
son and he really does enjoy going to these farms
and doing these activities. We went to Cox Farm already,
and that is a quintessential one, right because it's so
close to home, and Cox Farm has the best hay
ride there is in the DMV. No one can top that.
It's like twenty minutes long. But we went to a
farm we'd never been to. This was up in Thermont, Maryland,
(10:23):
Magnolia Meadow Farms. The drive up there was beautiful, took
us about an hour to get up there. And their
fall festival offers a little bit of different activity, right.
So they had apple cannons where you can shoot a
half what to a Yes, a target. My son loved that.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
That sounds like it's fun for adults too.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
It was, Yeah, that's a little bit extra, but it
was worth it. They have like a miniature little zip
line for kids and Donado must have done it no
lie forty times because there weren't long lines. They have
a great little load to the ground ropes course my
kind of ropes course. Yeah, and a corn maze. So
we were there for a good two and a half
three three hours. And what I loved about this farm,
(11:03):
Magnolia Farm, is that it's so wide open and spread
out that even with as many people that there were,
you couldn't tell. You didn't feel like it was a
crowded nice and yeah, and the mountains conducted mountains in
the bath room like. It was just very beautiful and
I recommend it. So if you want to take a
(11:23):
nice little drive and try it out, great, And I
would love any more suggestions because I know there are
a lot of fall festivals in the DMV and we're
not afraid to drive a little far to get to
a good one. If you want to let us know
where to check out.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
Yeah, so share it with us right now.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Open up the iHeart app, and tap that red microphone

Wow? Now?
Speaker 2 (12:56):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (12:57):

Speaker 2 (13:01):
No, I'm with you, Nancy. They're gonna find out at
some point exactly.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
And which way do you lie? I wonder do you
lie and say you're older or do you lie and
say you're younger? Perhaps it depends on the person you're
going to date with, right.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
What you're on a date with.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
That's an excellent guess, Nancy, and it is the correct
to answer. Forty five percent of people admit they've lied
about their age on a first date. Congratulations.

Awareness month. And look, this is a really really big deal,
right because women are recommended that we get mammograms every
year starting at age forty, and statistically, only about sixty
(17:36):
five percent of women over the age of forty are
getting screened for breast cancer. And a new study shows
that women who skip their first breast cancer screening have
a forty percent higher risk of dying from the disease
later on. Okay, I don't know about you all, but
I would not want to mess with those statistics. And
if you're new to the show or if you haven't
(17:58):
heard me talk about this before, I lost my mother
to ovarian cancer. She was only fifty nine years old.
This was back in two thousand and nine. At the time,
my sister and I got tested for a gene mutation
BRACA two gene mutation, which if you have it and
I do, increases your chances of breast cancer and ovarian cancer.
(18:20):
And I'm one of those people that, you know what, Sure,
I could do screenings, but I'm gonna go one step further.
And what I felt was best for me was to
get a hysterectomy and preventive double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery.
So I went ahead and went through that. And was
it easy? No? But am I glad I did it?
Speaker 4 (18:42):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (18:42):
Because peace of mind, I'm just going to say, is
worth more than that. And so if you need a

Speaker 3 (19:45):
This is about a Langley High School senior name Rujvi Takar,
who has taken on a mission that's very close to
her heart. She is fighting the rise of youth vaping.
Determined to make a difference, Rougev launched Clear Lungs. It's
a nonprofit that's dedicated to raising awareness about vaping's dangers,
which started on TikTok soon took off with over twenty
(20:08):
thousand followers and viral videos, sparking conversations about health risks
many teens overlook. And over the summer, Rougev took her
message to gym's clinics and hundreds of students, and she
even created a Share your Story campaign that drew in
adults that we're trying to quit vaping. So her work
(20:29):
is grounded in compassion and an urgency, and she reminds
young people that vaping may look like it's fun, but
the damage can last for years, and although she's still
in high school, her impact is already reaching far beyond
the classroom and she really has no plans to stop.
So we want to thank Rugei for giving us a

story that makes our Monday by creating clear lungs to

Speaker 4 (24:51):

I will go for a long walk with the dog.
That's just getting out in nature. I know it's cliche,
but clearing your head in that way it does help.
What is what is something you do?
Speaker 2 (25:16):
I call a very close friend, my friend Dan who's
on speed dial, or my mother. I will call oh,
because I know that I can just talk about I.
Speaker 4 (25:25):
Can just go, I can vent and they will listen.
Speaker 3 (25:28):
That's nice.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
Yes, And then once they start giving me advice, I'm like, Okay,
now that's enough. Tyler in Dale City calling in at
eight sixty six nine two seven, four three six one.
What do you want to add to the list of
ways to relieve stress?
Speaker 4 (25:39):
Not taking down?
Speaker 1 (25:41):
When I get home from work, I just get comfortable
and sleep for about two hours and that really helps
relieve the stress.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
Of the day.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
Oh, Tyler, that's a great one. And two hours sounds glorious.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
I will say sometimes my mother says, maybe you need
to get some rest.
Speaker 3 (25:56):
Great advice. You should be taking mom's advice.
