I will never forget the day nine fourteen was it?

Speaker 3 (00:35):
I thought it was nine to twelve. I thought it
was September twelfth, where the day that I got sick
in the studio and you said go home. I thought
that was on the twelve.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
That was on a Friday, Yes, and then on Saturdays
when I took an ambulance ride to holy Cross, German

which includes creating an International Stabilization Force as well as
a Transitional Board of Peace. Russia and China abstained and
Hamas rejected their proposal, saying that it does not address
Palestinian's needs. A bipartisan group of House members will host

(02:27):
Jeffrey Epstein's survivors today, as the House gets ready to
vote on a measure forcing the DOJ to release all
the investigation files. The President has now urged Republicans to
back the bill and says he will sign it if
it reaches him. Some Alexandria residents remain unhappy with the
sheriff's explanation for cooperating with ICE. Even after Sheriff Sean

(02:51):
Casey said he's required to honor ICE administrative warrants and
that his deputies do not assist with community in force,
many are still calling for another public hearing. Booz Allen
Hamilton is going to be relocating its global headquarters from

Toby and Chilly in the morning coming up next. How
you doing today? Okay, we're thinking about you very deeply
this morning. Okay, being very over dramatic, but your morning
mindset words we hope might inspire you to have a
better day or to start the day the right way.

(04:15):
On the way and just minutes stay with us every morning,
right around this time, we pause to take a second
to make sure we're all kind of in the right
head space.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
We call this our morning mindset, and we try to
get you into that better headspace with a quote, and this.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
One comes from Tim Tebow.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
You might recognize the name if you're a fan of
college football, when the Heisman also played baseball. He says,
your worth doesn't come from what you do, from what
you've done, or what's been done to you. It comes
from who made you. Now, I know that there are
a lot of people who believe a lot of different
things about higher powers and stuff. Maybe there are some
people who don't. But the bottom line is, if you

(04:56):
think about your worth right and what it means to
have value, it doesn't come from what you do, although
that's important. Right pays the bills, doesn't come from what
you've done or what's been done to you. It comes
from something else. It comes from for some the person

(05:17):
who made you. For others, it could be whatever it
is that drives you. Tim Tebow with a thought this morning.
Hopefully it resonates with you. If you want it again,
head us up the Toby and Chilli page. You'll find it
at washefm dot com. And if you need some help
getting the house in order because you've got stuff, know
that you're not alone, because we have a lot of

(05:38):
stuff too here with Toby and Chilly in the morning.

Speaker 3 (05:39):
Well, there's a thirty thirty rule that can help you
declutter and also save you a lot of money. We'll
share what that is in just a.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Few minutes, Toby and till you in the morning.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
It is ninety seven point one wash CHEFM. It's a
thirty thirty rule that'll save your money, help you get
organized and declutter free chili. What did you find and
why will this help change our lives?

Speaker 4 (06:02):
Well?

Speaker 3 (06:02):
This new trend says when you ate thirty hours to
purchase anything over the price of thirty dollars, it goes
beyond that when you wait an entire thirty days before
committing to buying anything one hundred dollars. That thirty thirty
rule applies to online and brick and mortar shopping. So
thirty hours for anything over thirty dollars and thirty days

(06:23):
for anything over one hundred dollars.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Oh, is that even possible? We're impulsive. We're humans. We
have impulsive urges.

Speaker 5 (06:31):
I know.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Walk through Tysons, either one galleria you go to the
other Tysons, the one with the other across the street,
and you just see things and you want them, or
you go into the dollar tree and you see things
and you want them.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Well, see the thirty dollars. It's easy at the dollar Tree.
You don't have to worry about that.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
True.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
I think this is asking us all to slow down
before we splurge. And for me, brick and mortar, it's
easy for me to walk away. It's the online that
I bink away.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Don't get me started.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
You know what I did over the last two months,
a lot of amazoning.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
That's what I'm saying. You gotta wait, You gotta do
the thirty thirty rule because it means that you're being
more intentional, You're not just going out of control and spending.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
Well, it sounds like a good idea and the theory.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
Now I will say, maybe you should wait until after
Black Friday and Cyber Monday to implement said thirty thirty rule.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Well, you know, hey, well it's the thought that counts.
It's not supposed to be over thirty dollars the thirty
thirty rule. If you're captivated reading more the Toby and
Chilli page at washfm dot com, need the news, of
course you do gets covered coming up next. Some like
you're hot national theater. Perhaps maybe you need some culture.

Police say that thieves used an ATM jackpotting scheme to
steal one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars from an
Apple Federal credit Union machine in early October, surveillance shows
two suspects repeatedly opening the ATM overnight and ultimately causing

(09:01):
it to dispense cash. Rebuilding Baltimore's Key Bridge is going
to cost a lot more and take a lot longer
than first expected. Officials now estimate a price tag between
four and five billion dollars, which is more than double
the original amount, and they say that the bridge won't
reopen until late twenty thirty instead of twenty twenty eight.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
Well I did on September the twelfth, I believe it was.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
But there's a good reason why I got thrown out.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Yep, yep. We won't go into too many details. We
don't want to gross anybody out this morning. However, it's
an interesting story. If you're not feeling well, listen, it's

Speaker 2 (10:49):

Speaker 4 (10:50):
Give me started on the email that locked me out.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
Well, let's catch people up. You were here September twelfth,
that's the last time you were here, and you walked
in with a lot of pain and a knee that
you had had surgery on not too long before that.

Speaker 4 (11:03):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
And make a very long story short, because you said
you weren't feeling well, I sent your butt home.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yeah, turns out I had another infection, a second infection
in the same need and uh and as a result
of that infection. Who knows how long I had had it,
but I was basically starting to run down, feel sick,
had a fever. I went home and slept after we
after I said, you know, and then the next day

(11:32):
stuff was going on. My daughter got scared because I
let to be honest, I was not. I was not
in the right mind because I was sick, because things
were just like whatever. And next thing I know, she
calls nine to one one, which is a rule. I said, hey, listen,
if if anything ever goes wrong with me or you
do not pass, go nine to one one, get me to.

Speaker 4 (11:54):
A cross, you know, to the hospital.

Speaker 2 (11:56):

Speaker 3 (12:13):
That that is the one that really took you out,
the second infection and having them clean out that infection
and where you are today, which is part two.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Well, yeah, the story. Yeah, so I've got my roll later,
don't make fun of me. You see me rolling? That's right,
I'm riding dirty.

very helpful, and and we'll talk more about some of
those people and and whatnot coming up.

Speaker 4 (12:51):
But it's good to be back.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
And I'm thankful for great doctors and great medicine and
knock on all kinds of what. Hopefully they got it,
because I really don't want a replacement. No, no, because

Speaker 4 (19:31):
Can I tell you?

Speaker 2 (19:32):
Occupational therapy and physical therapy very interesting things. Physical therapy
is like getting a workout. Now, why am I talking
about therapy Toby and Chilly in the morning. It's ninety
seven point one, was chef, And it would be because.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
Your knee had an infection in it after surgery and
they had to go back in and fix it. And
then you were an inpatient rehab then now outpatient. Occupational
therapy and physical therapist back to back.

Speaker 2 (19:57):
But you know, let's go back to the beginning. When
I first got over to Adventist Rehab Hospital. Occupational therapy, Yeah,
nobody told me. The word occupational to me means a job. Yeah,
but it does not mean you are going to bathe me,
which is what happened in a shower over an Adventist.

(20:19):
And I was like, God, loved the nurse. Her name's Kadria.
She's amazing and uh and I think you guys, an
Adventist should give her a raise.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
She's just trying to She is trying to make sure
that you could do these things on your own eventually.

Speaker 4 (20:32):
Oh, and she was coaching me.

Speaker 2 (20:33):
She was like, I'm glad she was around because she
was she was around it at very important times to
hear certain conversations. Of course, you're gonna hear lots of conversations.
In the shower. I'm like, cause I didn't know what
to do.

Speaker 3 (20:45):
Did you get a shower certificate? Did you graduate that
you can bathe yourself?

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Well, I mean I'm clean, I smell good ie patiental therapy, Well,
then it.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
Is about work. It's about making sure you smell good
before you go to work.

Speaker 4 (21:00):
No, no, and then you know, then I'm picking up
little toys.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
But let me tell you, one of the best parts
about occupational therapy was getting to play catch with a
dog with a therapy dog, like a Golden Retriever named
Miss Molly.

Speaker 4 (21:14):
She was amazing. More on that online.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
But yeah, so my mobility is not back at one
hundred percent yet.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
It's going to take time.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
I'm showering alone, and I'm not using the bench anymore.

Speaker 4 (21:26):
I'm standing.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Oh yeah, they gave me a bench and then don't
get me started to occupational therapy, which has nothing to
do with the job. I didn't realize they were going
to try to teach me how to use the commode again.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
I'm like, this is I was mind blown. Yeah, it
turned me a minute to recover.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
It did. Toby and Chilly in the Morning. It's ninety
seven point one wash f M. If anybody's ever survived PT,
feel free to call OT. How come nobody tells you
that occupational therapy has nothing to do with the job.

Speaker 4 (21:56):
Coming up in just a few.

Speaker 3 (21:57):
Minutes, we're going to talk about how much the average
American will spend this Thanksgiving, and the amount may blow
your mind.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
Yep, hold onto your wallets. That's on the way. Hold
on to your purse. Your wallet's ninety seven point one
CHEFM Toby and Chili in the Morning.

Speaker 4 (22:13):
I don't know how.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
This is possible, but apparently, Chili you found something that
says the average American is going to drop how much
on Thanksgiving?

Speaker 3 (22:20):
One thousand dollars on what, one hundred and seventy five
for food, one hundred on drinks, eighty three for decorations,
two hundred and ninety one for miscellaneous things, and then
almost three hundred dollars for travel expenses.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
Okay, I could see how travel might get you up there,
because well, I've i mean, firsthand experience.

Speaker 4 (22:41):
I'm procrastinating on everything.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
If I was going to fly home to Texas to
see my family, I'm sure it would probably cost about
a thousand dollars on Southwest.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
Yeah, but that's just for the airfare for you.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
Yeah, that's and that's me being dumb.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
But I just for the life of me, I can't
figure out how turkey stuffing, decorations and all unless you're
just going overboard first.

Speaker 3 (23:01):
I think if you have a huge guest list, it
could easily get up to that. A few years ago,
I stopped hosting just the four of us, my husband,
my son, my dad, and I will just go to
a restaurant now that saves some money, and then we
have a cousin's giving the day after where it's pot luck,
so you don't have to worry about spending too much
money in that case either, because everybody brings something.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
You said, pot luck. I'm hawkening back to days as
a young boy in Texas when they would have the
pot luck lunch after church. That was so good, but
you know what. To your point about the restaurants for Thanksgiving,
we did that last year in Boston, went up to
see my brother and his family. Kylo is at school
at Emerson up there at the time. And there's something

(23:43):
to be said about just rolling in, sitting down, getting served,
and not having any dishes to do.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
Yeah, that's true, and leftovers still right?

Speaker 2 (23:52):
Well yeah, well, I mean you could take a little
bit home, but I didn't bring anything home that not lives.
I don't know what I'm going to do this Thanksgiving,
but you know what, it's not going to cost one
thousand dollars.

Speaker 3 (24:02):
Well, I hope not.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
I ain't got it. Perhaps shoted, No, it was just
out for two months and medical bills.

Speaker 4 (24:08):
Anyway.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
What are you going to do though, Are you going
to spend one thousand dollars easy on Thanksgiving? Or no?
Maybe you're cutting back because you might be a government employee.

Speaker 4 (24:17):
We know what you've gone through. We'd love to hear
from you right now.

the drinks, the decorations, you got to worry about potentially

among all the households.

Speaker 2 (30:00):
Your worth doesn't come from what you do, from what
you've done, or what's been done to you. It comes
from who made you. Whatever that is that you believe in,
that brought you into existence. Even if you believe in, well,
you just don't believe in a higher power. Whatever you've
got to you got to just believe in something right.
Your worth doesn't come from what you do, from what

(30:21):
you've done, or what's been done to you. It comes
from who made you. Remember that today as you go
