coffee or something and have them bring lots of coffee
here for tomorrow morning.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
I like a B twelve IV in my arm.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
In this case, I'm gonna go get my grinder out
and we're gonna be giving you some French roast, you know,
with the French press, because that's high octane.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
I'm telling me that's true. Why are you feeling good?

Speaker 2 (01:19):
I'm feeling great because Disney is doing a live action
remake of Mowana. I don't know if you saw the
trailer yesterday floating around the web. Yeah, but you know,
my my significant other owns a house in Hawaii from
when she was when she previously in a previous job
that she had, she worked at Pearl Harbor, and you know,
so Hawaii's a very special place to her, and therefore

(01:42):
I love Hawaii and h and the fact that it's
takes place in Hawaii.

Speaker 4 (01:48):
And then goes and all this. It just it's Moana.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
You know you're a big fan of the franchise, Yes, yes, yes,
And I like the fact that The Rock will be
reprising his role from the animated film.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
And he'll be singing.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
So that's right. So if you've ever.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Wanted to see The Rock, if you want to smell
what The Rock is singing, coming next summer, It's going
to be good and you can see the preview. I'll
go post it on the Toby and chilipage at washfm
dot com because now that I'm back, I have access
to all that stuff again. Yeah, all right, let's get
it started, shall we. Coming up in just a few minutes.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
We've got Top Stories at the top of the Hour
to get you up to speed on all the news.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
From the mic.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
Top Stories Top of the Hour.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
Both the House and Senate moved swiftly yesterday to pass
the bill requiring the Justice Department to publicly release its
files on Jeffrey Epstein. The President has said that he
will sign the measure when it reaches his desk. Meanwhile,
the House is set to vote today on two bills
that would overhaul how DC handles crime. One would end
cashless bail, the other would roll back twenty twenty two

(02:49):
police reforms. Advocates rallied outside the capital, urging lawmakers to
reject the measures. After years of stalled efforts, Virginia latmakers
now have a path to create a legal adult use
cannabis market. Governor elect Abigail Spanberger has pledged to sign
legislation that establishes a regulated retail system, aiming to curb

(03:10):
the growing unregulated market. Alexandria's police chief Terik Maguire, marked
his first year on the job with some encouraging results.
He reported a thirty percent drop in overall crime that
includes sharp declines and violent crimes and larcenies since he
took charge of last November. Prince William County Public Schools

(03:31):
they plan to expand their food pantries to every school
after a successful pilot in ten buildings this year. The pantries,
supported by donated shelving, volunteer staffing, and privately funded food
are all helping hungry students and families without costing the
school system anything. And according to a recent survey, seventy
two percent of Americans said sleepiness interferes with daily activities

(03:54):
that affects the mood, stress or anxiety, and work productivity.
For today, cloudy with highs around fifty right now forty
two in Beltsville. Coming up next, We're gonna try to
get you into a better morning mindset with a quote
as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety
seven point one wash F F.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven point
one wash FM, It's time now for us to hopefully
get into a better frame of mind as we prepare
to take on a brand new day.

Speaker 4 (04:27):
This is your morning mindset.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
This is where we find a quote and share it
with you. Maybe it'll inspire or motivate you the rest
the day.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
Will Smith is here to inspire us today. He actually
had this talk while skydiving. He said before he jumped
out of a plane that fear is a green light.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
It means go. Fear is a green light. It means go.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
No, I'm not talking to if you're sitting in traffic
someplace right now and you're stuck in a light that's
red and it won't you follow those traffic laws.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
But you know what, in life, we do have fears.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
I'd be lying to you if I didn't tell you
that there was something that scares me every day. But
those things that caused me to be afraid, when I
pass it through the prism of fear being in a
green light, it means go. You know, it makes you
want to embrace what is to come, even if you're scared,
because success is also on the other side of fear.

(05:24):
Will Smith fears green light. It means go. Keep that
in mind today as you go through whatever your life
will bring your way Today.

Speaker 4 (05:31):
And you'll be fine, we promise. For Toby and Chilly
in the morning.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
You can find your morning mindset on the Toby and
Chilli page at washefm dot com.

Speaker 4 (05:38):
Now stay right there, because coming.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Up now, Toby's gonna share with us a personal goal
he has as he recovers from an infection in his knee. Yep,
and he's gonna tell us what the goal is and
what the timeline is.

Speaker 4 (05:51):
God help us all it will happen. That's coming up next,
Toby and Tilly in the morning.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
Thanks for choosing us here at ninety seven point one
washchef one with the number is eight sixty six nine
two seven forty three sixty one. And if you're signed in,
wired in doing your things scrolling doom, scrawling, looking around
on the web, you can also tap to talk back
microphone if you're listening to us on your iHeart apps
and us a note tell us what's on your mind.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
Thank you for being here today.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Now, Toby was out for a little over two months
recovering from a knee infection after surgery.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
That's right after I was thrown out of here. U
haremoniously by you, because well you knew I was sick.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
You were not well, but you're using what's called a
roll later. It's like a walker thing with wheels and
a bench, that's right. And you said to me off
the air that you have a personal goal to graduate
from this to at least a cane by when.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Probably before Christmas. It's some point in time in December,
the middle of December. And there's a reason why my
significant other loves the Rockets and she wants to go
to New York. I mean, New York is a very
walkable city. Walking requires both mes to be in decent conditions,
not all Later and day.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Caine is a lot easier to navigate through the seats
streets of Manhattan, that's.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Right, really, and through the seats and whatever that places
the Rockets do their kicking thing.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
I mean, it's like whatever.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
But you know, one step at a time and it's
going to be an interesting journey. And I don't know
what my doctor's going to say or the therapists are
going to say, but you know what you'll get there
baby steps or in my case, baby limps.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
Miss Eva, good morning, what's on your mind?

Speaker 3 (07:26):
I woke up this.

Speaker 1 (07:26):

Speaker 5 (07:30):
And you were on the radio.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
You've just made my day.

Speaker 5 (07:34):

that things are looking upward. I'm just glad you're best.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
Thank you, miss Eva. We're glad to.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Because anything's better than laying in hospital beds. Let me
tell you, Missiva, thank you for calling and for listening,
and have a safe day.

Speaker 4 (07:50):

point one wash FF.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Ninety seven point one WASHFM Washington, an iHeartRadio station, coming
up on Top Stories.

Speaker 5 (08:37):
Top of the Hour.

Speaker 3 (08:38):
The Senate has joined the House in improving a measure
allowing for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files. That
story and more on the way as Toby and Chilly
in the Morning continues on ninety seven point one wash FM.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
Top Stories Top of the Hour.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
The Senate has joined the House in approving a measure
that allows for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
The President recently said he would sign the measure once
it passes the Senate. A Fairfax County private school has
agreed to major reforms, five years of outside monitoring, and
a public apology after they expelled three Jewish siblings whose

(09:17):
family reported severe anti Semitic bullying. As part of the settlement,
the Nysmith School in Herndon will also pay the family
nearly one hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Fairfax County massage
therapy business owners are sounding the alarm over proposed rules
that would require them to keep their doors unlocked during
business hours. Many say banning locked or buzzer entry systems

(09:38):
could put therapists at risk and unfairly burdened small businesses
that rely on controlled access for safety. The Montgomery County
Council passed a resolution approving seven point seven million dollars
to help nonprofit organizations that provide food, housing, and mental
health services. Prince George's County residents, you can now legally

(09:59):
own pip bulls after the council lifted a ban in
place since nineteen ninety seven. The vote also titans leash rules,
shifts the dangerous dog law to target behavior instead of breed,
and raises civil penalties for dangerous dog violations. And according
to a recent study, ultra processed foods are now tied
to damage in nearly every major organ The study also

(10:23):
warns that corporations are heavily marketing these products, influencing scientific
debate and pushing back against regulation. Forecast today cloudy skies
highs around fifty right now forty two in Ashburn.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
Don't forget to tell five friends that you get top
stories at the top of the hour when you wake
up with ninety seven point one was Chef m Toby
and Chilly In the warning things for the news, Chili
coming up in t just minutes. Martha Stewart, she knows everything.
In fact, when it comes to Thanksgiving, Martha has some
insights you're gonna want to hear.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
She says, there is a perfect time for us to
all sit down down for the feast, and we'll share
what that is and why in just a few minutes.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
Now, is it before or after all of the games?
Because you know Thanksgiving is a big football day.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
We'll stay tuned.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
He's like eleven.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
O'clock, two o'clock in the afternoon, five o'clock in the evening,
Toby and Chilly in the morning. On ninety seven point
one Watch FM, Martha Stewart has some insights about when
we should be eating our Thanksgiving turkey at dinner.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
She does say it's a two pm sharp and there's
a reason, and I like her reasoning football. No, well,
that has something to do with it. Okay, you can
eat early, you can watch some football, then you got
the drinks and desserts flowing later. So this sort of
paces you a little bit better because if you eat
too late, god, you're so stuffed, like you can't eat

(11:46):
all that dessert and you're just laying around you're feeling gluttonless.

Speaker 4 (11:50):
The earlier you.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Start, like at two pm, the better you'll be able
to digest and keep going and going and going.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
The gluttony thing is an interesting I'm wondering if Martha
factors in the fact that, you know, after you eat
all of that food, you do get that Thanksgiving coma
and you pass out. So if you're like done eating
at three and you fall asleep, you're probably gonna wake
up around five or six. Then you're gonna be up
all night.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
So or you're just gonna eat some more and then
go back to sleep.

Speaker 4 (12:20):
There there's that too.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
And by the way, if you feel like you want
to eat a lot of Thanksgiving, feel free to do so.
Do you know why, because it's less stress on whomever
takes care of the fridge. Martha Stewart, she's a genius.
And if you want to read more about this, we've
got you covered Toby and Chili page at washfm dot com.

Speaker 4 (12:38):
But we got to play a game right now.

Speaker 5 (12:40):
Toby and Chili's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 4 (12:42):
Your question, ma'am.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Sixty five percent of people say this is the most
annoying sound. What is it all?

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Right.

Speaker 2 (12:50):
Remember the number is eight sixty six nine two seven
three sixty one. Call us now. You're calling for a
chance to win some very cool culture.

Speaker 4 (13:00):
Chili. It's it's a performance.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
Some like It Hot, National Theater, November twenty fifth.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
So if you love live theater, you're gonna love this.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Call us right now eight sixty six ninety seven forty
three sixty one the question one more time?

Speaker 3 (13:13):
Sixty five percent of people say this is the most
annoying sound a person makes. Okay, so it's a human makes.
What is it?

Speaker 2 (13:22):
Hit us up, don't make that sound because we don't
want to be annoyed. But tell us the answer and
you'll win. The game is on ninety seven point one.

Speaker 1 (13:29):
Why shout Toby and Chili's nearly impossible question?

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Chili, what's the question again? One more time? Please?

Speaker 3 (13:36):
Sixty five percent of people say this is the most
annoying sound a human can make. What is it?

Speaker 4 (13:42):
All right?

Speaker 2 (13:43):
We're talking to Amy and Germantown, who called us at
eighty sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one.
She wants to go see some leg it hot at
the National Theater. Amy, good morning, that's a question.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
What your guess warning.

Speaker 5 (13:53):
Is it people snoring story?

Speaker 3 (13:56):

By any chance?

Speaker 6 (13:59):

Speaker 4 (14:01):
Really?

Speaker 5 (14:01):
My husband and my dog?

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Oh lord, baby Hayses, there's no peace in your house.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
You know.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
My significant other actually over the weekend crashed in the
living room on one of the recliners because you're snoring.

Speaker 4 (14:14):
Yeah, I'm gonna go.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
Get that sleep study done, get that to seapap. Yeah,
you know what, I'm gonna try to work that in
while we're off for Thanksgivings if I can figure that out.

Speaker 3 (14:25):
And excellent, guess it's also the correct answer.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Amy, Have you ever kicked your husband like because he
kept you up? Maybe?

Speaker 3 (14:32):
And ud sure?

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Have you ever gotten to the point where you couldn't
sleep because it was so loud that you wanted to
go get like, I don't know, say water and.

Speaker 4 (14:39):
Dump it off.

Speaker 5 (14:42):
Maybe I'm got bad right on.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
Well, hopefully you get some good rest and your husband
gets some good rest because you've got a date night planned.
Now you're gonna go see some Like It Hot at
the National Theater. It's going to be a great show.

Speaker 4 (14:54):

Speaker 5 (14:56):

Speaker 2 (19:50):
If you want to be here right around this time
and you could win, it's ninety seven point one. Was
Thanksgiving is right around the corner. It's ninety seven point
one wash FM. Be hitting the road to travel, see
some friends, family, or maybe you're like some people I know.
They go to like a really nice hotel, a hotel
with a really good restaurant that serves a really good
Thanksgiving meal, and they hang there for the holiday. We're

(20:13):
Toby and chilly in the morning. Well, listen, if you
go to a hotel and you decide you want to
help yourself to some stuff in the room, know that
you're not alone.

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Eighty seven percent of people admit they take stuff from
a hotel room. They've done it at least once, and
three out of ten say they do it every single stot,
They every time they stay. But here's what's shocking. The
number one thing people are stealing towels. Towels, really, the
towels that I have seen in hotel rooms are barely

(20:43):
big enough to cover my body.

Speaker 4 (20:45):
Well, it's not.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
But taking those, well, it's somebody who might knows somebody
who might have taken a few towels from.

Speaker 4 (20:55):
The Micolon hotel Hershey, you just take them because they
feel good.

Speaker 3 (21:01):
Okay, because you can't buy your own from bed bathroom
beyond with the coupon, I'm not understanding.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
Well, I think maybe I heard this rumor that they
needed to use the towel to wrap something breakable up
in it.

Speaker 3 (21:11):
Okay, you're a thief, that's what you know. Yes, come on,
bathrobes came in second place, which, by the way, they'll
charge you for that because that's super noticable.

Speaker 4 (21:20):
Yeah, I would never take a bathroom.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
And then hangers top three hangers. Those hotel hangars are horrible.
Well actually they're wooden with the clips, so maybe people
think they're fans.

Speaker 4 (21:30):
Yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
I mean, that's there's more to the list that you
can see on the Toby and chillipage at waschfm dot com.
But you know, I really probably should just shut up
because the statute limitations isn't up.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
But here's the biggest question I have truly. How do
you have space in your suitcase for bulky towels, bathrobes
and hangers.

Speaker 2 (21:50):
Sometimes I just take an extra suitcase or packet kind
of lights.
